People sleep on how fine Debbie Allen was
she had a body on her for her age
@@niqulusviii987 yeaaaaa and back in the day she was a lil yella dime piece
....and is!
I don't. I've always known how gorgeous 🥰 she was...
Funfact: she's married to a former
Lakers legend.
And they been with each other since.
Wardrobe room full of fitted caps, sleeveless tees and Fubu jeans. 😂
Not gonna lie, I loved this show.
Very underrated 90s sitcom
The only reason I watched this show was Maia Campbell. She was so beautiful. It's a shame her life has taken a turn for the worse.
There was also another one with don
Chedle when he was young.
@@nehemiahpouncey3607 u talk bout the golden girls spinoff
For real.
she got it back on track if i remember
@@kob2flyhopefully..I was so shocked because I was so in love with her 💞😭
Great job, homie and big ups for not putting the sista, Mia Campbell on blast and just sending her well wishes. You’re a standup dude.
There was also a short lived series called IN THE HOUSE that starred Don Cheadle as a college graduate who moves back home
There was only an unsold pilot for that show.
I don't ever remember him taking that hat off
He doesn't like the way his head is shaped.
I really like the show I just started watching it on Tubi and I'm hooked. It's very funny. The first season is the best. LL cool j & Debbie Allen are both hilarious together 😂😂
It’s on Max too. This show was underrated.
@@shavonneholmes5203 yes most definitely 👍
Yeah, this show, especially the first two years was very funny in my opinion. But it was obviously trying to replicate the success of the Fresh Prince. So they tinkered around with different characters and whatnot to try and make another winning formula. So the show suffered for not really having its own identity. Too many inconsistencies.
I also think the show was more appealing to black audiences than others. So the crossover success was not at the same level. Additionally, hip hop was no longer a novelty in '95 like it was in '90. But ultimately, I loved Debbie and LL in these roles. The kids too. When Kim and Alfonzo showed up it wasn't the same.
It's on Tubi lol and everything you said is facts cause I just finished season 2 and now I don't want to continue...it was probably a few good episodes but it wasn't the same without Debbie and the kid that played Austin
They just got rid Debbie Allen and her son 😂 I was confused when I didn't see them in season 3. Show is cool it's Fresh Prince light 😂
Say wut u want.. I'm old enough to remember UPN from jump..I used to watch 90 percent of it..but we don't talk about homeboys from outer space 😒
I’m happy to see Kim Wayans getting so much recognition. She was ahead of her time. She’s a great writer, and she does not age. ❤
Right.
She was the funniest one on in living color in my opinion.
Carlton married his "baby mama" and T went on to college and formed freestyle unity
Debbie Allen, Lisa Arindell and Kim Wayans! The beauties made this show for me as a young brother
Can't forget Maia Campbell
Also Lark Vorhies.
@@njyawndra8609 MAAAAAAAAAN TALK ABOUT LARK 😍
I remember Kim Wayans in In Living Color and recently I saw her in that cult classic movie Juwanna Mann. Yes, I was insane for watching Juwanna Mann. 😂
I loved both versions of "In The House" but the final version was beautiful.
Do New York Undercover I love that show
Why, oh why are _NY Undercover_ and _Homicide_ not available for current audiences to enjoy? 😾
@@crnkmnky it's on peacock
Tbh I think the show got better once Carlton from fresh Prince and Kim wayans came on the show.
Honestly it really did!
I agree! I just hate that he wasn’t Carlton but Maxwell with Carlton personality and Carlton’s parents instead lol
You NEED to do a video on Malcom and Eddie thoooo
As a child, and a millennial, For me, it was KIM WAYANS who kept that show alive and hilarious as Tonia.
🎉 I love her
I thought her character was annoying.
My oldest sister played Natalie Davis on this show and Veronica in the Parker’s and on Home boys in outta space
What’s your sister up to now? Haven’t seen her in anything in years….
It's on RUclips this series is underrated
I was just saying that to me In The House Hanging With Mr. Cooper and The Hughleys are three sitcoms that our underrated that no one talks or mentions. Those shows might didn't get high ratings or talk about like back in the 90s like they do other sitcoms. But In The House is a dope show.
As young as I don’t even remember this show being on nbc let alone him doing all the plugs with the fresh prince cast. Upn made me watch this as I realized all the best shows were ending at the time. It was a good show for its time and run.
You gotta do "homeboys in outter space" next😂🙏💯
ABSOLUTELY‼️😁👌🏾💯💯
I don't know how I missed out on that one back in the day. I guess I was more into the WB Network at the time. A white classmate told me he liked watching a show called "Homeboys in Outer Space," and I swore he made it up. 😸
@@crnkmnky 🤣🤣 Fair enough tbh I didn't remember it until he brought it up un the vid & then thats when all the memories came back lol
I’m so glad I saw this! I’ve been using in the house as my background show for weeks😂but when I rewatched all the seasons I agree season 3 was best but season 5 was unnecessary down to the intro😂
In the House was a really good underrated show
Like you said it was smart for in the house to move to the Young Adult sitcom instead of the family type I feel like though season five was just buying time like the last page on an essay for school. They were like we have another season and since Marion didn't get married last season lets give him another girlfriend this season and rush to make them end the game.
Man the licking of the lips every two to three seconds when he talks 😂😂 was that a gimmick or what Damm cuzz. 😂😂
Coincidentally there was another in
Da house with don chedle.
That show became lost sadly.
It came before the LL one.
I liked the first two seasons(which is basically Who's The Boss) because I like Debbie Allen but I definitely prefer what the show ended up becoming. I liked the clinic setting along with Max & Tonya and glad Tiffany stuck around. Also, there was one more show that took place in this universe, Out All Night which like Fresh Prince and In The House, also starred a famous black musician(Patti Labelle) and was produced by Quincy Jones.
Didn't know Quincy Jones produced Out All Night. Yes all three of them our musicians with their own sitcoms. Now I wish that Out All Night would have last at least five seasons instead of one. Also Out All Night isn't a spinoff of The Fresh Prince of Bel Air either.
Don't forget Blossom also kinda too place in this Universe when Blossom met The Fresh Prince!
This show was very underrated I watch that all the time
Yup! I remember it, I enjoyed it! It's playing on Tubi right now!!
Good video 👍🏾 I used to watch in the house whenever I would catch it but really didn’t know the storyline/plot I just knew LL cool J was in the show lol 😂
Yo! Any and everybody got a sitcom back in the day. The show wasn't bad, I think it picked up in Season 3 going forward. I wouldn't put it at the top with Martin, Fresh Prince, or The Parkers, but its a decent watch.
Yeah it is an average sitcom. It wasn't no Martin or Family Matters but it is an ok sitcom .
Shout out to you for respecting Maia 👏🏾 Very sweet gesture. I hope she’s doing okay.
In My Opinion Seasons 1-2 Were The Only Great Seasons Of In The House I feel like the show got ruined After Debbie Allen & Jeffery Wood Left The Show I tried to watch Seasons 3-5 but I just couldn’t get into it
Naw the show got better once it started to aim for more adult audience
@@tagz3924 but the ratings got lower when the show moved to Upn when it changed from family oriented to adult oriented
I remember this show lol thanks for bringing back memories
Thank you for making me this. I used to love this show growing up, and binged it a few months ago and was surprised to find ZERO videos about the show. I thought it was completely forgotten lol 🧡🧡
This was my fave show! ❤❤
I’ve been Binge watching on Tubi. It was cool until season 3 and when they made Tiffany dumb . The sitcom cliches wasn’t hitting for me
To me this show got stupid when they made Kim Wayans a regular cast member. Her character annoyed me to no end, one of the reasons why I don’t watch the show in reruns now. I wish they would’ve kept Debbie Allen and that concept till the end of the series. I never understood why she was let go in the first place.
Damn!! I was the only 1 who watched this show. I liked it, the cast was good, Debbie Allen did get job! She DEFINITELY carried it
Crazy how this was on tubi and I would've never known about this gem
Great video a Fubu advertisement for 5 seasons
I like the first two seasons better. Like you mentioned, I never believed Marion's friendship with the new characters in seasons 3-5. As funny as Kim Wayans is, she annoyed me on In the House. Her character was too one dimensional. I love Alfonso, but his character was a Carlton knock-off that wasn't as funny.
Big Cool J Fan
Loved In the House 🙌🏽
The Will Smith / LL Cool J collab is wild.
It's on Tubi now
And You Tube also sometimes. In The House is an average sitcom and underrated also. But no one talks about the show as one of the great sitcoms of the 90s.
I remember watching this show during my childhood when it aired on UPN. LL Cool J, Kim Wayans, and Alfonso Ribeiro's acting hit the sitcom right out of ballpark.
Great Review! well informed and the throwback commercials were fun to see 👌🏾
I remember;and been watching on Tubi😇😇😇❣❣❣🎄🎄🎆🎆🎆🙏🙏🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
This is a great review of that tv series 💪🏾
I never knew about this sitcom until 3 yrs ago while surfing youtube, but, thanks for this well done retrospective review of a very-NICE-show. I absolutely LOVE Debbie Allen, she's mature, well spoken, article, intelligent, know how to deal with people and multiple talented. Oh and I forgot-GORGEOUS. LOL. So glad LL Cool J and Debbie are alive, well and still acting on current tv shows. In other words, staying employed. LOL.
I love this show it’s my favorite television show.
6:27 that’s like saying that you’ve never heard of a person buying a car without test driving it which even back in 1995 was possible.
A beautiful show ahead of its time… Featuring an (technical) age gap relationship of sorts, and the value of having positive respectful yet strong male role model(s) in a single female parent household!!! plus Debbie Allen is every bit the actress her sister Felicia Allen Rashad is plus she’s a slightly better dancer
PS- if you bother to look up the show, also notice that the nerdy glasses wearing doctor whom Debbie Allen was married to on. The show was successful despite his nerdiness, and that is to be respected both black men on the show were different, but perfectly presentable to any national Society.
I think the second version had a more original premise, with characters and situations that were distinct. I even prefer the opening theme to the first.
for me, tonya (played by kim wayans) made the show hilarious. I preferred her friendship with marion versus her initial obsession with him. the show fell off once she left in my opinion.
Ha! I do remember the revamp, but I had forgotten about them changing networks.
To me in the House is my favorite show in the late 90s and LL was doing alot of Great Things, help putting Fubu Fashion on The Map and especially getting Legendary Acting Roles and personally i can relate to Marion Hill's Character and he had disappointed Love Interest with women but he kept his head high and continue to maintain his inner peace and self improvement and gave incredible advice to people who needed to hear the truth about life changing decisions. And its a Blessing that they had a final episode before it went off the Air and It was fun to watch in my book.
I loved this show. It definitely got better in season 3
I remember the UPN version of it. UPN was it back in the day.
The dance at 8:35 😂😂😂
😂
I loved this show back in the day❤ I was telling my son they had so many black shows on tv you have a good mix of shows to watch just for us…now… crickets…
This video was fire bro, very chill
I remember it being on nbc then going on over to upn.
Me too
Wait a minute, successful mansion owner, his stalker, a doctor like character moves in, and a teenager. Anybody else see 2 1/2 Men?
Very informative. I watched it when it was on NBC. Upn not so much
Maaan i was in LOVE With Mia Campbell as a Man & as a Teen Loved Me some Mrs. Debbie Allen-Nixon!! Loved LL The Artist. Should've kept Mrs. Debbie on the Show!!
Yeah we use to watch this show.
This was a cool show.
Kim Wayans never gets enough recognition for her contributions in comedy the same as her brothers. Appreciate it
I don’t remember this show, but then again I was like a new born because I was born in 95 😂😂
This show didn't get a lot of reruns aired, which probably explains it.
@@KarlaHollandno it did, they reran it on upn up until 2003/2004 and then tv one in my middle school/high school yrs and after and maybe BET. I was born late 1993.
Everything you said on this video I said the same shit.. Thank you for putting in the old commercials bc I was like damn I wish I can remember the promos for this show ..
I’ve been binge watching this show this past weekend, I only remembered the version with Alfonzo and Kim Wayans from back then.
With the Raiders location, when he went back and played they said they practiced in LA but played in Oakland.
I used to pass that house everyday on the way home from school
Fam got the gran turismo music in the background….. good call bro
LL COOL J aka The G.O.A.T 🎧🎤🔥
Shane Douglas picture. 😂😂😂
I never knew the show exist in the 90s
I remember the show but ONLY for the theme song. I tried to watch it but it always at random times when I would be able to sit and watch not allowing me to watch regularly. By the time I discovered it, it was on UPN and I figured I was watching reruns but I didn’t know until a few years ago that it actually had been picked up by UPN. The only two characters I remember were LL’s and Carlton’s uh I mean Alfonso’s.
I love this show
Ah, yes the Raiders. They were so loved in LA but went back to Oakland for a while till Las Vegas became the popular spot for a sports team thanks to the Vegas Golden Knights that came into the NHL as an expansion team in the 17-18 season.
I was watching this show in the 90’s. I use to love his show. I was 14 in 1995.
I remember that promo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That show should of been on longer or maybe not 😂
I stopped watching after Debbie Allen left. But i did like it when she was on the show
Lord have mercy I was just watching this on Tubi. I totally forgot this show existed.
Always watched this, ll was big inspiration to my clothes and tiffany was so fine : P
Yup fell in love with the wayans sister she’s a baddie and all intros were hot in the 90’s didn’t know Quincy Jones had his hand in so many things
I still watch uploads of it on RUclips
It was one of my favorite Black comedies as a kid next to A Different World, Hanging With Mr. Cooper, and the Steve Harvey Show.
I remember watching this, I loved the episode with Rupaul
No Diggity no doubt baby😂
Of course I do! In Nigeria, it was shown as part of Cadbury's Breakfast TV. LL shouldn't have treated RuPaul the way he did though.
How funny I was watching this this morning hahahahahahah❤
I use to watch this show it was awesome
I loved that show so funny
DUDE YA SETUP IS A MASTERPIECE HW DO U KEEP IT CLEAN...do u gt kids lol jus curious
Interesting review. I remember watching the ads and the show, and the slow elimination of the characters until the entire show had been rewritten.
The statements about The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air kind of weird especially because the only reason why it was so successful is because it was digestible to and didn't offend whites.
There's a pilot episode named In The House with another cast on YT. I'm curious if the name was picked up for LL's series.
I had such a crush on Mia Campbell back then. She was beautiful
