    Hey Michelle
    I've had quite a journey with my hair and your videos help. I feel like I have a long way to go, I've been following cgm since over a year but I still can't nail my washday. I have medium to low porosity fine hair medium density hair. A big difference I made in my washday was reducing the amount of product and emulsifying it really well. I also clarify my hair almost every week because it gets build up very easily. This video of yours and the one in which u styled your friend Gabus hair really helped. Please keep making such videos, they're really helpful. Lots of love ❤❤❤

    I bought the northwish leave-in just now and used your discount code. I wish i had seen your video before buying the Fix my curls Butter. It was a disaster on my low porosity hair. the leave-in cream is better. thanks Michele.

    • @MichelleManuel
      @MichelleManuel  2 года назад +2

      Ahhh I understand. The curl quenching hair butter is a very heavy product. But I think you could still try to dilute it and give it a try. On low porosity 2c and tighter hair textures, it might have a chance of working. If not you'll be better off with either the northwish or the ashba leave in conditioners. Both are light weight.

    I have somewhat mixed porosity hair(I guess). Every time you mention the word 'protein', it makes me overjoyed.
    Also you are sooo right about FMC formulation. I always use both in LCOG method(Yellow one as light leave-in and Blue one as heavy cream/butter) and I get good results. I'd say same for their gels. Cocktailing has definitely helped for me, both in terms of results and cost.

    • @MichelleManuel
      @MichelleManuel  2 года назад +2

      Very good insight. I've never tried the LCOG. I think my porosity is also mixed right now. I've cut off most of the high porosity bit. I'm left with a little high porosity and mostly medium porosity hair. You have to get quite creative with mixed porosity hair in terms of styling. 😂😂

    Michelle Manuel you have changed my life. I bought the Northwish naturals curl defining hair gel based on you review and my hair LOVES IT! I just used it for one wash and the results were AMAZING! The definition, shine and softness! OMG Thank you SO MUCH! I tried imported hair gels from naturally you and me and it didn't give me as good results as the northwish gel. I can see why your husband likes it.

    • @MichelleManuel
      @MichelleManuel  2 года назад +3

      Oh mah gosh! Reading this made me so so so insanely happy! Like seriously you have no idea!
      The gel is seriously good! It can give many soft to medium hold gels a run for their money. The brand is small and don't have the budget to advertise which is why they don't get enough credit or exposure in the curl community! That's kinda why I keep speaking up for them! :)

    I've just come across your videos and I'm so glad. Thru your videos i came to know a lot of things I didn't know. Like in your second video you applied conditioner on wet hair and didn't wash. My hair is very dry, damaged wavy and rough. I'm gonna follow your methods and try to love my hair which I don't. One question.... after washing my hair it looks so wild and at work I have to tie it up. Without combing my hair will be wild. Please advise.
    Thanks.

    Low po hair here! Your older porosity vid helped me identify my hair porosity. I should try using less amount of products I use. My hair feels super greasy and sticky from day 2 and gets worse on day 3. I have been using quite a lot of products (especially gel) because my transitioning hair seemed to be needing more support in the holding department. Could you do how to refresh video for low po hair please? My hair feels like I don’t need to (or shouldn’t) add more products to refresh but I always end up using more gel. I wonder these problems around refreshing would resolve once I start using less amount of each product and more mousse. Thanks girl!

      This is exactly what Anka used to experience. Her hair felt super greasy on day 2 and 3. It was mostly because of the product. Definitely see if switching to mousse or doing more mousse and less gel works better.

      Ahhh yes. That's expected. The spray will only work as a one and done leave in conditioner for hair that cannot tolerate lotion and cream leave in conditioners.
      A way in which you can make it work on your hair is by using it as a prepping mist. Ie before you style your hair, mist your hair with the ktein spray. Then use leave in and then end with gel. So basically you can use it as the first step in a prep style set routine.

    I have kinda wavy hair ....I usually braid them nd they are manageable ....but the top of my head looks so rough ,frizzy and curly . I don’t know what to do . Also I believe that when you say embrace your natural hair it should mean w/o all the excess products ( gels , sprays,etc) ....if you are using all these you basically want curly hair right. It is no different from straightening your hair to get those super silky hair . Your natural hair look is the one post shampooing nd conditioning . How can someone with wavy hair consider curly hair as their natural hair ....i am just curious

    • @MichelleManuel
      @MichelleManuel  2 года назад +3

      Where do I begin with this comment.
      1. CGM is not the only method of taking care of wavy and curly hair. You can choose to follow it or not. There is no compulsion. If it's not for you, then don't try it.
      2. Using cg friendly products cannot be compared to using heat and straightened. Using heat damages the hair cuticle. Using cg friendly products to style does not damage the hair cuticle.
      3. Wavy hair when styled will form waves and curly hair when styled with form curls. A person with straight hair cannot follow a styling routine and get curly hair. A person with wavy hair cannot style and get curly hair. 2b and 2c waves are different from 3a, 3b and 3c curls.
      I have a mix of wavy and curly hair and therefore when I style, my definition will only be according to what forms naturally. I cannot manipulate it to become curly with product.
      At the end of the day you'll probably have to take up this issue with Lorraine Massey. As a follower of her method, I am sufficiently happy. But that doesn't mean you have to follow it too. If it feels wrong to you, then it feels wrong to you. If you feel like people with wavy hair are pining over curly hair and are therefore not really embracing their natural hair then that's what you believe. You have a right to your own opinion.
      I don't feel the need to change that in any way.

    Hey Michelle, thank you so so much for sharing this video! I have recently started my CGM journey and have accidentally purchased heavy and buttery products for my very low porosity hair. At least now I know why they are not working :)
    I had a small doubt, you mentioned in the video that people with low porosity don’t have to both - condition and deep condition, so I can use just one product for directly deep conditioning instead of making it 2 steps and 2 products. Does that also mean I can remove the leave-in condition step? And maybe directly skip to serum and mousse?

    • @MichelleManuel
      @MichelleManuel  2 года назад +1

      Even if you have low porosity hair. You'll probably be on a spectrum.
      Meaning either you need a watery leave in conditioner and a gel/mousse
      Or you don't need leave in conditioner at all. You can directly use a hair foam or gel.
      But also note that I've shared a few case studies/examples of people with 3b/3c low porosity hair who actually tend to prefer heavy creamy products.
      Porosity itself will not determine the products that suit you. You'll need to consider curl type and porosity while choosing products.
      If you feel like heavy products don't suit you, try just a gel and see what happens. Ie in your lineup you can keep
      Shampoo
      Conditioner/deep conditioner
      A mousse or gel for styling.
      See what happens. If you need like your hair needs a little more, then add a leave in. Something super light. Level 1 or 2 at the max.

      @@MichelleManuel Hey!! Thank you so much for replying so quickly!! 💙💚💛 In my understanding I have 2B-2C hair, and with the leave-in I was using, (from earth rhythm) my hair felt really heavy immediately and also unexpectedly ended up heating up my scalp and skin to a point of discomfort! I'm sure it does a great job with other hair types, just didn't suit me. So kind of got me scared to use a leave-in at all. I think yes, as you said, I need to try styling without a leave-in first and then maybe add start using a bit later.
      I have one more question, for the conditioning/deep-conditioning, do I have to necessarily keep the process 30-40 mins long? I tried shortening the time to 10 mins and I felt it may have worked a bit better?! Even my conditioner is buttery so maybe that's the issue?

      Hey. I had a massive issue with the earth rhythm hair butters. Broke me out immediately. Had the same issue with the cleansing balm. It broke me out. My scalp didn't feel irritated (because i didn't apply any on the scalp)
