What is the use of wet detangling will that give better curls
Hi, I have straight low porosity hair and I have been using the loreal dream lenghts range, but I realised that it has keratin in it which isn’t good for low porosity hair. Also, for clarifying, I use glycolic acid on my scalp once a week. Is it okay? Or should I go for a clarifying shampoo. Also, could you please suggest me a good shampoo.
This video is very helpful. I live in Kolkata, which is very humid and I work out almost every day. So for me, my wavy hair routine was a daunting task since I had to wash my hair very frequently with many steps, and every time I would end up looking like either an oily mess or a frizz ball🥲! After watching your video I have come to the conclusion that I will reduce the steps and shampoo my hair every third day or as my scalp requires. Then I will do the conditioning part and apply a one-and-done gel. Let's see what happens🤞🤞.

please give recommendations for low porosity hair which is super dry and hard to get moisturized. As a result suffer from recurrent split ends. To prevent dryness I have always used heavy products but splits ends persists.

I don't like to keep things rigid. Once in a while it's a healthy practice to explore other styles if your hair is healthy.
Moderation is key. Extremes don't work for me.
I personally gave myself permission to use heat 4 times a year during winter. Haven't done much of it because of my current circumstances.
I could show you some heatless options I've used. Does that work?

Hi Michelle. Thank you for all the hard work you put in your detailed videos. I had a doubt. I was wondering how to do cg during these summer months. Here in kerala its too humid. Cant go without wetting hair everyday. Do we apply leave in after wetting hair?
If you're washing your hair every single day, you could try the curl up cowash. Wet hair, apply the product and rinse off. No other steps needed. It's effective for regular washers.
Or just use any moisturising shampoo and moisturizing conditioner you already own.
If your hair is very dry then you could use a leave in. I personally would avoid extra steps if I were washing every single day.

Hey Michelle, Thank you so much for coming up with list of Indian products♥️ BTW, how can I come to a conclusion that my hair is perfectly moisturised with proper amount? My hair used to be straight,long and thick before my college days, but after moving to city it lost all it’s texture and density, now it’s frizz and curly on outer layer , inner layers are still straight and smooth, I want to regain my old hair with proper intake and products, please guide me on this!
And, is glass of water test enough to conclude that my hair is low porous and kindly drop us a video/reel for oil recommendations(updated) for low porous hair pre shampoo.
I've answer in point form.
1. With trial and error you'll understand by the look and feel of your hair when it's perfectly moisturising.
2. Changing locations will not change the hair from straight to wavy/frizzy. Hormones and age impact the hair. Try a styling routine and see if your hair waves/curls.
On porosity: the glass test is not an accurate test. You can watch my porosity video. You can check my protein moisture balance playlist.
Oils: I mentioned in this video itself.

Ahh okay. The white and blue bottle. I must have featured it in my old video. I shot it 2 years ago. Back then we had to make do with what we had. All these new products were not available to us back then.
The Northwish Naturals leave in conditioner contains a small protein called Arginine. Arginine (an amino acid) can penetrate the hair shaft, it is very well tolerated by low porosity hair. So you should be fine.

You can check out either one very honestly. If you're oiling your hair, use the tea tree one. If you're not oiling your hair, check out the argan one.

I have oily scalp and dry roots, they are damaged too my hair lies between low to medium porosity.

Arata leave in conditioner made my hair more dry. It even took away the conditioner effect from my hair and made it super dry and frizzy

♥️♥️Some people with low porosity hair are sensitive to coconut and protein.
Some people may also have flash dying issues with certain ingredients. I've recommended products so as to not exclude anyone.

Hi Michelle..plz help in finding my hair porosity.. I've watched your hair porosity full video bt I'm still unable to find.. my hair is fine and 2a 2b kind of wavy.. and i don't follow the cgm method because i like to braid my hair ..the outer part of my hair is so rough and frizzy and the inner part is so silky and manageable.. whenever i use a little heavier product it weighs my hair down..bt at the same time i apply about 8-10 drops of oil daily on my hair bt after a day my hair becomes again so dry.. I've used a silicone based conditioner for almost 2-3 years it weighed my hair down and at the same time my hair had so many split ends then I stopped using that conditioner and now I've no split ends and also I've never coloured my hair and used a heat product only 2 times in my life..my hair is so frizzy plz guide me
The description of the outer part of your hair sounds like sun damage or damage from environmental elements.
If you've never/hardly used heat or coloured your hair, you could rule out having high porosity hair. For now we can assume that your hair is between medium to low porosity.
I would suggest a leave in conditioner or atleast a serum gel. This helps with split ends significantly.
Stick to moisture products. Once in a month use 1 product with a small protein.

Hey Michelle! I am new to CGM and I have never tried any of the products before. I think I have low-porosity type 2 hair (2b-2c if I scrunch my hair while conditioning) and it's really frizzy and poofy when I brush it. Should I buy the Northwish Naturals baby bundle ( nourishing shampoo and conditioner, leave-in conditioner, curl-defining custard, and styling gel), will it be good for my low-porosity hair? I am a little hesitant to try anything because I am tight on budget (I am a student). and also wanted to say I just love your videos!! you are the best! 💗💗
The products I've suggested in this video are for low porosity hair. I've done a full review of the northwish products. It wouldn't be my recommendation for low porosity hair, except the ones specifically mentioned here.

Hi Michelle.. i have scalp psoriasis.. so i oil my scalp once a week..and shampoo wash it every alternate day.. can u please suggest a shampoo that can be used this regularly.. and be light and clensing.. i now use sunsilk aloevera coconut shampoo and conditioner.. but my hair feels frizzy and dull..
I don't think it would be right for me to recommend anything to you. I don't have the expertise here. It may be a good idea to use a dermatologist recommended shampoo.
I have scalp build up and extremely dry hair…can I oil my hair every single day to moisturise my ends and use growth serums on scalp???
Don't use them as you would a traditional oil. Do a dry refresh technique. For daily basis use, it will work better.
You can use growth serums daily too. If you're using one that gives you a cast, scrunch it out in the morning.

In my advice section on stylers, I spoke about weightless formulas. Those would be your starting point.
Can you suggest a clarifying shampoo for colored wavy hair ?
A clarifying shampoo will not be colour safe.
On clarifying days, use whichever clarifying shampoo you like. None of them will give you colour protection benefits. The nature of a clarifying shampoo is to strip the hair of buildup. That's it's one job. So sadly, I can't give you any options here. :(
Hey Michelle ! I was really confused on which shampoo to buy, you recommended two of them the thing is i wanted a shampoo that could remove heavy oils but the one that you recommended ( tea Tree dandruff shampoo) can remove heavy build up but i don't have that much build up.
And i also decided to buy the requil clarifying shampoo that you use in your other videos so im confused about that it would be great if you could help me out a bit.
Ahhh yes, the Reequil Shampoo is a good option to remove buildup as well. It's a clarifying shampoo. Both will do a good job. I like the texture of the Plum Shampoo more. But both are good choices. Equally good. Pick any one.
@@MichelleManueli wanted a regular shampoo that can remove pre poo, I'll buy the plum tea tree for clarifying purpose....since it's a clarifying shampoo i dont think i can use it on a regular basis so idk which one to buy that removes heavy pre poos and is not a clarifying shampoo.
You can most definitely use it as a regular shampoo. In your case you won't need 2 shampoos. Try it for a few weeks and let me know. If there's an issue, we can troubleshoot together.
@@MichelleManueli went to order the shampoo through the link you provided but its sold out there so i checked on amazon and read MANYY negative reviews about how people are experiencing Hairfall due to the shampoo which made me really skeptical about the product. I had massive amount of hair loss at some point in my life so im really trying to save them as much as i can. What do you think i should do? Should i order it and see what happens?
@reverie8318 I can't speak for anyone else. It's possible to have allergic reactions to certain ingredients.
I personally didn't experience any issues with the shampoo. Check a few more reviews and then decide. That being said if any product gives you cause for concern, definitely don't buy it.

I think you're mistaken. I've recommended the jh shirolepam/shankpushpi mask for high porosity hair and the plum one here for low porosity hair.

What do you mean by over moisturised ?
When you used too many conditioning products or when you've used too much of a particular conditioning product or when the conditioning product in question is too heavy for your hair, your hair can be over-moisturized. When it happens you'll feel it. The hair will feel heavy and weighed down, almost like it's being dragged down. You'll also have extra halo frizz.

When you don't over-moisturize the hair, you get good volume.
Michelle I just started CGM today I've used low porosity products which you have suggested , shampoo, requil conditioner , arata leave in , and fix my curls gelly , for my low porosity hair , I just scrunched my hair after using the gel directly and also did upside down scrunching , I did not get proper curls , my hair is 2A-2b , the curl pattern was not uniform and frizzy , did I do some mistake ? What can I do to improve my pattern
And my regular hairstyle is a ponytail, I am not understanding how to put a ponytail as it is getting really difficult to put a ponytail, without using a comb and if I use a comb I am ending up breaking all my curls , even if I try to do different partition
Ok. Don't get frustrated. The first attempt will never be perfect. My first attempt was not great either. You'll slowly get better at it. You're in transition. Keep being motivated and keep trying. Focus on technique and see how you can tweek it to make it better. Don't focus on product, focus on amounts. It's going to take some time for the curls to form. Switch to a scrunchie. Gather your hair together without combing it and put it into a ponytail. I know it can feel very different and very new. You could also elaborate on how you're having trouble. I could guide you further
@@MichelleManuel like I like my pony without any partition , as am a college student I can't always open my hair , it makes me feel sweaty so a ponytail is my go to hairstyle without any partition or face framing , so today when I've washed and styled my hair in middle partition, when I tried to change it to side partition my broke few curl clumps , today and next when I tried to remove all the partition and tried to put a normal pony tail , I broke the clumps on my upper section
@@Varsha_00780 oh ok..I get it. I understand wanting to preserve the clumps as best as possible, but if you want to tie your hair back in a ponytail, some of the clumps will break slightly. Don't worry. It's bound to happen.
