I really hope you'll respond to me... I think my hair has a hard time holding on to moisture. For this, you recommend a leave in conditioner. I looked at the ingredients in the one you showed in this video and I assume the main ingredient that is helping hair hold on to moisture in this product is the silicone. Is this correct? I don't want to use silicone in my hair though, so is there another product you'd recommend, or a specific ingredient I should look for to seal the moisture into my hair? I have very thin, fine hair, so I can only put oil on the very ends. Literally every amount of every type of oil leaves my hair oily.
3:55 • spread hair apart, • push shampoo down (while it’s a liquid), • do back top sides 5:55 • 2 washes to get 2nd layer • 2nd same as first but with half as much shampoo • mucho lather on wash 2 = 🛑 (if not do it again) • get hair straight, gently squeeze hair to get water out (cue from diff vid) 10:31 - keep moisture • 8-12 sprays of “leave in conditioner” • brush it through with wet brush 11:00 - keep moisture on ends • hair oil • super super super lightly Misc • 11:56 - CLEAN YA DANG BRUSH ❗️
Do you wash the first shampoo out? Or do you leave it in, then apply more shampoo? I’m having a hard time to understand. Hope to hear from you. 🙏🏼 thanks!
Ignore this, I’m taking notes for myself -better shampoo: wash the scalp (part down the middle, then on the sides, then neck) (two washes, half the amount of shampoo as used on the first one) -conditioner/hair mask -leave-in conditioner on wet hair (12-16 sprays for my hair type) then brush it with a wet brush -hair oil (use only a bit on ends) -clean your filthy brushes Heavy product test: Leave out 1 product per wash, see if your hair is oily or not
Wash hair with clay. Most importantly... Cut washes to 1-4 times a month (I do once a week). Oil entire head overnight treatment before wash day. Oil ends after washing or if hair is fine, use aloe juice. Whichever you use, apply to damp hair. They seal the water in. All these expensive things are ridiculous. I have clay, jojoba oil, aloe juice. Dirt cheap.
Well... the thing is that we have All probably tried everything under the sun to help our hair, and Chris's recommendations are the only thing that has worked!
@@RunninUpThatHillh 100% agree with you. I can't cut washes because my hair is literally falling out like hell if I let it dirty for too long (yes, if you create a lot of sebum it can clog your pores leading to inflammation and hair fall). But in general, I switched to an organic shampoo, even one called for sensitive scalp so completely not aggressive, and I already see a lot of improvement. I can wash every 4 days vs everyday like before. Just that, I didn't add any other cosmetics. Also, I changed my diet a lot, people skip this part like it doesn't matter at all, but yes if you eat a lot of fastfood or any other grease, I will come out one way or another. What you eat is like 80% why your hair and skin looks the way it does. Cleaning oil is fine, but stripping your hair of all the necessary sebum (so you'll soon run for more professional conditioners, masks, sprays) isn't.
I am confused on one point. He said after conditioner/hair mask. Our hair now needs something to lock the moisture. Then what is leave in conditioner, it is again a moisturiser for hair how will it seal the holes?
@@heartofmiracles I'd say conditioner after every wash, every shampoo is a bit stripping for your hair. If I remember correctly, he said conditioner is to add moisture to your hair, and a leave in is to lock that moisture in. Edit: Mask is something to use once in a while, depending how often you wash but once a week, once in two weeks. It's like very heavy treatment.
When you said “who’re you trying to impress? Your cat?” Actually yes I am. She uses her spit to wash herself and her fur is so shiny. 😂 So soft, fluffy, and healthy looking.
This has honestly made such a difference to my hair. I never knew I was shampooing my hair wrong, until I tried it this way. By day 3/4 my hair would be an oily knotty mess. But after washing my hair following your instructions, I'm comfortably on day 7 with no issues. Thank you for making this video!
1: shampoo soulmate 2: washing technique step 1: apply while liquid, start in back + section hair, push to scalp, pressing firmly into scalp, scrubscrubscrub step 2: small amount of shampoo (half as much), bunch of lather 3. professional shampoo (only wash when hair is oily) 4. conditioner+ hair mask 5. leave in conditioner (only on wet hair) fine hair 6-8 sprays, medium hair 8-12 sprays, course hair 12-16 sprays 6. hair oil (only on ends, less is more)
@@therejectedbeatle just purchase the best quality shampoo you can afford. That part was him promoting the hair industry, trying to get more sales. Yes, salon products are great but they aren't good for us in the long run because most are full of chemicals, even if they say they use natural ingredients. & If something happens when you can no longer afford the ridiculously prices products then use a different brand or product your hair goes into shock & the process to find what works properly starts all over again.
You have the voice of someone trying to sell me something before you reveal what really helps, but you actually gave us all the information that we need, so that makes this channel great and actually helpful thanks!
After some 2-3 months ever since implementing your routine, I came back here to say… THANK YOU. I truly did not believe there was anything that could give me the improvement in how my scalp&hair feel and behave, and in the end it was so simple..! It is unbelievable to me that it is SUMMER (here) and I can go 3-4 days between washes with soft hair and scalp that doesn’t have any residue for nails to pick off even on day 4 (even despite using dry shampoo on day 2). It works like magic, now I hope I will see my hair grow out long and healthy.

Hard water also makes a huge impact. For me, I've found that if I wash with hard water, it doesn't matter how much leave-in conditioner I use, it still dries frizzy and looks brittle, and in two days I have to wash again. When I wash in soft water, my scalp feels so much cleaner, my hair is softer and smoother, and I get an extra day between wash cycles. I have fine hair, by the way, so those of you with thicker hair may not have my problem.
@@DanaKot336 I tried to use one for the bath but it didn't work very well, sadly. :( I've resorted to going over to my parents' house to wash my hair when I need to.
@@rodsmadehard water has a lot of minerals in it and leaves water stains in your faucet and silverware. Soft water has less minerals, you can filter your water to make it softer. It depends how the water is where you live.
One simple and affordable solution is rinsing the hair (last rinse) using a little bit of apple vinegar mixed with water. The acid in the vinegar breaks down the minerals in hard water and it helps
I’ve been trying this hair growth serum of reactivate littleexttrra for a really long time now and happy with the outcomes I’ve got with it... it is my 3rd serum bottle now. This one has to be applied to the scalp so it performs like magic to a dry scalp. I apply it normally before bed time and just rub it well into my hair....and cleanse it the next morning. I have seen hair growth and improvement in my hairline.
I only use the reactivaate serum + coconioon shampoo, oil and hair conditioner. I am doing this consistently for four months. Hair fall is minimal now, and new hairs are also growing.
this dude is on track. I’m tired of influencers telling me that because I wash my hair every day. It’s making it oily. I wash my hair every day because it is oily. It’s been that way since I was eight years old. I have tried every single thing in the world to be able to go at least two days without washing it. I also been coloring my hair every two weeks because I’m 100% gray which means I have dry ends. he’s right about getting your shampoo on your scalp. I double wash. Because I know the first time I’ll get rid of all the gunk in the second time will ensure a clean scalp. I use much less shampoo the second time like a half tablespoon. I have thick thick hair and it works. I will upgrade to professional products I promise that’s what I need to do. Thank you for being so straightforward.
You are me and I am you, except I have thin hair but a lot of it. Funnily enough, the only shampoo that has worked for me is the Citris Yao bar shampoo and conditioner from Viori. Some of us are just greasy gals, truly greasy gals.
Correct. I have four daughters. One of them never gets oily hair, ever. The other three are a mixed bag. Two are like me who constantly need their hair washed and one is fine with once a week. Nobody can tell me that it is because I washed them wrong or whatever, it's genetic. Period.
Yes most of the times it’s genetics (with or without medical conditions such as dermatitis etc). I have oily scalp bc my skin is oily but over time I understood that part of my oily situation was coming from a huge moisture unbalance due to my genetic dermatitis. Now that I’m taking an immunosuppressant my dermatitis is basically gone, my skin feels much more moisturized than oily and so my scalp. Now I wash my hair every 3 days 🎉
My hair is exactly the same as yours, I am also very grey… I’ve spent a lot of money on my hair over the last month trying to sort it out and it basically hasn’t changed, actually looks worse… I am going to try Chris’ recommendations ☺️
Great advise! Other tips you can apply: - change your pillow case frequently, and if they're satin or silk even better. - avoid touching your hair and scalp to keep it cleaner longer. - watch what you eat and maybe take some supplements. While you can help from the outside with the adequate products, sometimes the problem comes from the inside. A lack of nutrients will affect your hair and skin. There are are some great supplements for Hair, skin and nails. - avoid very hot water hitting your scalp in the shower. Cold or warm at most its best. This reduced the hair fall a lot too for me. - use a microfiber towel or an old cotton tshirt to dry your hair, and as the professor says: be gentle. Too much friction will only make your hair frizzy and tangled. pd: If anyone know where to get the pureology leave in conditioner in Spain, it would be a great help. Thank you!
Satin is harmful for oily scalp. Especially if you have an oily face. It won't let your pores breathe and cause pimples. Don't go around giving useless suggestions without proper research.
If anyone looks at new comments on this video, I also want to mention something else you may not have thought of: your water. I have curly/wavy hair and I've always lived in an area with hard water. I didn't realize the huge effect it has on my hair until I moved to a state with softer water! Now whenever I visit my hometown, I notice a huge difference in my hair. There are a few ways people mitigate this, so do some research if this sounds like it might apply to you!
Omg I noticed that too! My hair (and for some reason pretty much the rest of my body changes) is so soft and silky at my grandma's but at home (so most of the year) it's awful :(((
@@thesunniest1824Yep, it definitely affects my skin too; I have KP and it's noticeably worse whenever I visit my mom! I would also get these itchy bumps around my jaw/chin sometimes after showering (not sure if KP related) that I only get when I'm there.
THIS!! I use bottled water for my hair at the moment whilst I'm waiting for my shower filter to arrive and the change in my hair is incredible - we moved to a hard water area and I couldn't figure out for the life of me why my hair was suffering until I researched hard water and realised the only change in my routine was the water so it must be that.
I only discovered you a few weeks ago, but after investing in the basics, I finally got to 3 days between washes! It may not seem like a lot- but for someone who washed nearly every day for years, it’s a big deal! The amount of time I used to spend on my hair was ridiculous, even though it’s barely at shoulder length I thought about cutting it off- but now doing my hair has gone from a chore to a relaxing self-care! I can’t thank you enough for well-worded advice and not pushing your products on us but encouraging us to find what works for our hair. The right products may feel like a big investment, but they last so much longer and do so much more!
What were you not doing from this vid? Curious on what helped you. Because I already did everything in this vid and hair is always oily after sleeping.
What shampoo did you use?? I want to get there, 3 days between washes😭 can only do 2 max. My frikken cousin bounces her prefect 2 week hair around in my face I can't😂
My hair least about half a day :| if I clean them in the late evening, they will be greasy at 1 pm. Or if I wash them at the morning, they will be already weight down in the evening
Hands down and by a long shot the most useful hair care video I’ve seen. I’ve searched endlessly for routines, products, tips, etc yet never feel educated. This is one of the first RUclips videos I’ve watched that won’t appear under the “keep watching” section.
This is the video I have NEEDED!!! I'm a hairstylist and I'm always trying to explain the oil/dry hair issues a large majority of the world has. I myself have learned a LOT more from this video. I will be saving and sharing this video with everyone that asks me for a HIGH QUALITY explanation. AMAZING VIDEO!!!!❤❤❤
I started washing my hair like you recommended and boom 💥 I used to have oily buildup by day 2. Really oily! Now I can easily go three days without that oily buildup and even on day 4, it’s still not horrible. My pillow cases aren’t showing oil patches either. AND my coworkers have been saying how great my hair has been looking. Fantastic!
HASK (argan oil). I just make sure to use matching brands shampoo & conditioner. I have also changed out the brand once before and it worked just as well.
For me, it actually was a hormonal imbalance that led to an oily scalp. I discovered it when I got pregnant and my hair could suddenly do 3 days without washing when I had to wash it every day before. It might also be a good idea to get checked out by a doctor.
@@sarahjohnson9443 there are many factors definitely track your changes, diet plays a large role as well as environmental, trauma, genetics etc and ofc any type of products and ingredients we use and are exposed to. The other commenter mentioned birth control which is true BUT it should be last resort for a serious issue as many make it seem like it's "just birth control" but there can be serious outcomes long or short term ...so, like any meds use only when absolutely necessary and do whatever you can to prevent the issue and not make it worse...diet, exercise, sleep, limit screen time.morning and before bed if possible and destress esp in nature are a good start as well as doing some blood tests and simplifying the ingredients in your life from food to products in a way realistic to your life and budget:).
@@nadiadeosaran9247 i agree with you, it all depends on the person and how heavy is the imbalance, sports and healthy diet must be the first steps also because are more effective, with or without birth control :)
Yep i think it’s the same thing for me too because my face get SO oily and full of acne as well (like a teenager, even at 30) so it does makes sense that my scalp gets oily too:(!
03:04 EXACTLY. It's so ridiculous to me how everyone (especially Abbey Yung) is advising to lather up your shampoo before you apply it to your scalp. Like, you're literally just washing your hands there, people!
Shampoo is not only effective while it's turning into a foam, it continues to be effective afterwards. Just don't let the foam mislead you into thinking that you have less sebum to wash out, is all. Btw, moisture in hair is a myth, what we really mean when we say dry hair is poorly conditioned hair, which is about the surface of hair rather than anything that goes inside. The barrier conditioners create are to keep moisture from entering the hair (rather than to "keep moisture from escaping" as he is saying). He should know this, he understands this when he's talking about terry lined shower caps. I will quickly say, I still like his practical tips, I think he's awesome. But my eyeballs hurt from rolling into my skull when he expands on tHe sCiEnCe
@@LiliS319what you’re complaining about (what he’s allegedly saying wrong), in theory, produces the same result, so it’s just semantics and not necessarily wrong science. The idea is “locking the hair up”, so it doesn’t matter if it’s to retain moisture or to not let moisture in, it’s just needs to be sealed to maintain softness.
I really don’t think it matters as long as you’re washing twice. I have done it both ways and the end result is the same. The only difference with emulsifying is (for me personally) it distributes better and I end up using less. With the other method I usually concentrate more in certain spots and there’s not enough left for others so I go back for more.
When I switched to Pantene Volume (away from all the expensive shampoos I was using before) my oily scalp problems disappeared… I never touched Pantene before that but I’m glad I did!
I have always had oily scalp and dry hair. So, I had to shampoo my hair every other day. No oily scalp till 3-4 days and bouncy hair 🥺♥️

Just switched to Redken Volume Injection. I can now go 4/5 days without washing and before it was 2. My previous shampoo had oils in it. It’s a game changer.
This channel gives all the necessary hair care information in a nutshell. It's perfect for someone like me who wants to be and look healthy without having to delve into the whirlwind of information excess where you first have to separate facts from trends and clickbait. I knew hair care must be easy. Today we just complicate it and confuse with consumer content. Thanks! I will be coming back to this channel.
My hair wasn't getting longer. After seeing your video explaining how the ends are breaking, I started using a hair mask, leave in conditioner, and oil on my ends. My hair has gotten 3 inches longer. Thank you for all your wonderful advice.
Was wondering when do you put the oil in your hair? Do you put it on your hair along with the leave in conditioner while it's wet? I know in one of his videos he puts it on after the hair is styled, that's what I've been doing but I've noticed some people put it in before blow drying there hair. Was just curious.
Mom's a hair dresser, yet I still dye and cut my own hair (I guess I learn from the best) but WOW. this was a game changer for me. They never tell you how to shampoo your hair, so we all have just been doing what we think is right. This is genius and has changed my hair dramatically alone without any products. But, I wanted more because I trust Chris so I ordered the redken leave in treatment, acidic bonding treatment, and the volume injection shampoo. I don't use conditioner anymore, just leave in now. I'm obsessed!!!! Thank you so much Chris!!!!
For reference, I've been on my "hair journey" since my mom dyed it when I was 15. It has been thin, oily and dry since then and I've tried EVERYTHING. even monet tried to teach me How to wash my hair and I thought that was making a difference until my hair was falling out. Then one day I see Chris's page, and next thing I know I'm doing blow outs on my own hair which would have sounded impossible before that. Literally cannot believe how much this has helped!!!! Now just need help with oil lol
Finally! Someone who debunks the emulsifying technique. So many sources on the internet recommend to always emulsify the shampoo on our hands before applying it to our hair, but I never feel clean doing that :( I ended up ignoring those tips and glad I actually did the right thing lol.
I'm 37, and have thinning hair for the last 10 yrs like you can actually see my scalp. I have changed my water filter and put one in my shower. I tried vegamour and other hair growth products and laser brushes and silk pillowcases. I even take hair supplements for years and nothing has changed. Recently stumbled on to Mr Blowout Proffesor and binged on all his videos. It's only been two weeks, I don't see baby hair growth on my crown yet, but man my hair is already an inch longer because of the healthy hair ends 😊. My hair is fine/thin on the oily side, and usually would be so frizzy after shower/washing. I try to wash every other day because I work out and sweat a ton, but since this routine, I'm able to go on for 3-4 days in between washes and even after working out my hair would still smell nice. Now, my hair is so soft, bouncy, shiny & healthy. You really have to clean your brushes. Thank you Chris! 😘
I swear it’s like you made this video for me. My hair gets oily on top and dry every where else. I’m excited to hopefully finally be able to fix my hair ❤
I just wanted to comment that I have learned so much from watching your videos, Chris. Everything you’ve shared makes complete sense and while I’m still early in my journey to follow your advise and routines, I can already see results. No one has ever explained all of this in such a straightforward way. All the tips together make a huge difference. I’ve been struggling with my hair for a few years after a round of telogen effluvium (TE) from a medicine change. I feel like I’ve tried literally everything to improve the texture of my hair after it grew back. I was washing too frequently and using a flat iron too often trying to eliminate frizz. And I hadn’t found my shampoo soulmate. And I was getting a trim every 5/6 weeks. But thanks to you, I’ve got it all together now and i’m able to go 3 days between washes. I now own a lined shower cap, a blowdry brush and I wear a silk bonnet to sleep at night! I’m 3 weeks in and am already seeing a huge difference! I’m so grateful for all your help. It doesn’t hurt that you are positively adorable and obviously are super passionate about helping others. I binged all your videos over 1 weekend 😂 and I can’t wait to keep watching new videos. THANK YOU!
Please, my hair is dry and coarse and has become frizzy. Can I get instructions from it? What does it say? How to wash it and what is the recommended shampoo, conditioner or brush. Can you send me pictures of them and where to buy them? They are not good in English. I rely on the translator. Please reply.
This has been a huge struggle for me, and this video just saved me. I was NOT using enough shampoo when washing. Thank you so much!! Buying the recommended products next
My mom was a hairdresser for 60 years and that is exactly how she washed hair. Back in the day, her supply shop even gave me my own discount card for everything but dyes, bleaches and perms. I still have 2 of her chair hair dyers. And God forbid if I ever used her hairdressing scissors for cutting anything!! 😅
I live in a tropical country and my hair is naturally wavy and can actually get curly by just sweating so humidity really affects my hair a lot but thankfully, I do all these things in the video especially conditioning, using leave-in conditioner and a few drops of hair oil for my ends. It absolutely works and my hair is so silky and I always thought my hair was rough but changing my hair care routine since I grew it out from a boy cut and regularly trimming my hair really made it better. I wash my hair regularly daily tho coz the heat is too much during the summertime rn lol but I only use shampoo when needed. All the time I use conditioner.
Same here. I'll go crazy from the heat and sweat if I don't get my scalp wet at least once a day. But I have learned to skip the shampoo for every day.
Ah yes, tropical country + my frizzy hair is just hell. But if I may ask, what product did you use for the shampoo, leave-in-conditioner and the hair oil/mask? Please I need it😭 my hair is so frizzy that everytime it dried it just puffs out and looks more like a lion's mane than actual hair
I use bar soap for 3x weekly shampoo, and baking soda to clarify once every two weeks. I respect this gentleman's video for the standard human (if you like heat treatment, if you use products that coat your hair)-- but personally I have loads of skin allergies and have to be creative with how I can wash my haor, particularly since I'm allergic to some of the main ingredients in household cleaners. And I don't use any products that coat my hair, nor heat treating. Summary: everyone's different, and if this gentleman's method works for you, that's great! It unfortunately won't for my specific needs.
Can you make videos on 1. How to manage the oily scalp and dry hair while gymming 5 or 6 times a week. 2. How does hard water affect hair and what can one do about it? 3. Can you make videos on chlorine affect on hair and how to handle it. 4. Hair oil when hair is wet or dry, and after or before leave in conditioner?
Thank you so much !! This is literally the most clear, straight to the point video on hair care I've ever seen on the Internet. I've been struggling because of too much conflicting information on hair care everywhere and it was paralyzing like you don't know what's the correct thing to do.
I rarely comment but this video has done something no other hairdresser or product has been able to do and that is give me my hair back. I have fine, thin hair that likes to snarl and frizz and was oily when I was young but as I hit menopause my ends just got awful. They were dry, breaking and see-through and nothing helped (and the 100's of products under my sink are proof). I even switched hairdressers I was so distraught over my hair and she asked "has your hair always been like this"? And now I've learned that I'VE been washing my hair wrong for years and I'm guessing menopause isn't doing me any favors with the dryness. Even without the suggested products I got good results. AMAZING. You have a new fan and subscriber.
Thanks for the video! The only thing that bothers me about hair washing routines is that people's lifestyle are not mentioned. I workout everyday, even twice, and I workout hard. It's impossible not to wash every other day. Even so, by using a bunch of good products - mask, leave in and oils, I manage to keep at my hips now. With that being said, your videos are really helpful and down to earth.
The double shampoo + leave in conditioner + oil on my ends worked so well! I’m so much less frizzy and my roots feel clean. Such a simple adjustment in my routine and it helped so much! Thanks for the great video
Use shampoo in its liquid form (not foam or suds). - Start in the back of your neck, spread hair apart, and push the shampoo all the way down to your scalp (where oil is). - Repeat for top and side of your head. - Work the shampoo in by pressing firmly with your fingers- focus on getting your scalp clean. Reason why this is important: Shampoo needs to come in direct contact with the oil, and oil is on the scalp. Do two washes. On the second wash, use half of the shampoo (to not dry out your hair). If you get a lot of lather on the second wash, you can stop- your hair is clean. If you don't get lather, keep adding a little shampoo at a time until you get lather- then you can rinse your hair. Use professional shampoo. Adjust your hair washing schedule based on how the new shampoo performs. Conditioner + Hair mask Step 1: Leave in Conditioner - prevents moister from escaping - spray onto wet hair and brush it through with a wet brush - 8 sprays for fine hair, 12 sprays for medium hair, 16 sprays for coarse hair Step 2: Hair oil - Seals hair ends - Heavier than conditioner, use sparingly (less is more)
I've been doing this trinity routine for around 3 to 4 weeks, and Im trully impressed. I was used to wash my hair almost everyday, and right now I can go up to 3 days without washing my hair, and Im drying my air without heat (so if I blow dry it, I probably can go up to 4 days!). This man is an hair saver. Im hoping I can finally grow out my hair this time around
This video saved my hair. For years I followed this routine and my hair was always so healthy, shiny, and minimal frizz. Then I got sucked into the TikTok hair care routines, and started adding so many extra products and testing all these different things wondering why my hair never looked good and lost all its shine. At this point I’d completely forgot what I used to do, and when I went back to following this routine only adding leave in conditioner and a oil after washing my hair. After my first wash I was blown away, I thought it was just a coincidence my hair looked good this time, but now I’ve washed it again and the same thing happened. My hair thanks you for me coming upon this video lol
I watched this today. It was an oily dirty hair wash day. I washed it the way you said and, even though I still had to use my regular shampoo, as I was rinsing off after the first wash, my hair squeaked!! ❤ It NEVER does that with this shampoo! Didn’t have leave in conditioner or oil but that’s next. I did use a little organic coconut oil on the ends as a starter. Love the straight up advice. 🤝
As a former stylist, who still has family and friends for clients, I love your “shampoo soulmate” analogy. I never emulsified the shampoo, although I was taught to shampoo that way. I separated it on my fingers, and made sure it touched only their scalp , especially when shampooing color. Unless the color went to the ends, I didn’t shampoo the ends either. I told my clients to not condition the top half of your hair, and don’t shampoo the bottom half. The lather from your shampoo will do the job and save on your ends. I had many tell me they noticed a difference when they did this. I, however, have naturally curly hair (flat ironed in my photo), and shampoo never touches my hair! I have no scalp oil. None. I use cowash, when needed, to get the conditioning/styling products out instead. Yes, I overdue on them, but I actually love the feeling of product and a slight oily softness in my hair! It styles exactly the way I need it to. 👍🏼 Great advice for my oily clients! Thank you, sir! ❤
Sooo as someone with an oily scalp and dry, naturally curly hair... I am at a total loss for what to do. My dermatologist wants me to use shampoos like Nizoral or similar. (I get oily build up on my scalp) But my god it dries my hair out so much. I have to wash my scalp because of the build up though. Also, my hair isn't all one length. I have shorter bits in the front so I find it difficult not to condition the upper parts of my hair. Dermatologist said that oils from conditioners and things like that will only make my scalp issue worse. She just kind of shrugs when I ask her questions about my curly hair.
@@countryrat6t6I have fine, wavy hair and an oily scalp that often becomes flaky, broken, and irritated. For me, it's a genetic thing that seems to have more to do with allergies, hormones, and skin irritation than anything else. Nizoral does clear up my scalp but dries out my hair a lot. It may sound counterintuitive, but if you have time before your next wash, you may want to warm some coconut oil and massage it into your scalp about an hour before you wash (and wash thoroughly!) It may sound counterintuitive, but something about it really helped balance my scalp. I rarely do this because it is time-consuming and a bit messy, but it did help to do it about once a week at first. I also looked for gentle hypoallergenic, unscented, and sulfate-free shampoo (NOT baby shampoo, weirdly enough. That made my hair worse.) I also noticed that sweat, dust, and dirt made my scalp break out and become oily so when that can't be avoided, I do my best to air it out and keep the sweat from sitting there too long. (Sweat that isn't allowed to evaporate can lead to fungal overgrowth on the skin.) You may want to check with your doctor about your hormones too. It can do some wild things. I suffered with an oily, acne-prone scalp as a teen, but as my hormones balanced out in my twenties I noticed fewer scalp issues.
@@countryrat6t6 i know u left this comment a month ago, but in case ur still struggling with this issue i wanted to tell u what i do! i use nizoral too and find it very drying, so in my routine i only use it once a week and use a different, gentle shampoo 2-4 times a week, and it’s made a world of difference!! my scalp needs the anti-flakiness ingredients from the nizoral but i’ve found that once a week is enough as a sort of “treatment” for flakiness, and then i use the other shampoo as normal for just washing my scalp and hair. i think ur derm would be right that a nice conditioner would make ur scalp worse, so use the conditioner in the shower only on ur ends, but then maybe use a leave-in conditioner afterwards and focus on your shorter strands! that way u have more control over where the conditioner ends up than u do in the shower. hope things start looking up for u in the hair department!!❤️
You have saved my hair!! I bought the Redken Volume Injection shampoo a few months ago and have been following your shampoo kung fu routine and can say that I can go 4 days without washing my hair now! Originally my hair was so oily and I was experiencing major hairless due to stress from work and family drama - I felt so ugly and unwanted. Now I have tons of new hair growth and it looks so healthy and bouncy. Thank you soooooo much 💖
I appreciate how clear, straightforward, and logically sound your instruction is! No fluff except for hilarious joke insertions that register three seconds later. 😂 You say “simple” shampoo, and yet “professional” shampoo. Professional ones tend to have a ton of fancy extra ingredients it seems. Does something like Manic Panic pre-dye clarifying shampoo count as simple? It certainly cleans squeakily.
You aren't going to believe me, but this video was literally an answer to my prayer! A stylist cut my gorgeous long hair above my shoulders a few weeks ago and I have been devastated. It killed my self esteem. I prayed to God for help and no more than 5 minutes later without even searching anything hair related your video came up and auto-played! I know it sounds crazy, but it really happened. Thank you for your advice and wonderful video. God bless 🙂❤️🙏
Chris I'm just here to say thank you and to give my testimony for anyone who may be like me. At the beginning of the year, I had had enough. I suffered my entire life with the thinnest, flimsiest hair, I couldn't get it to grow barely past my shoulders, it was so thin you could see straight through it, it was frizzy, it just looked terrible my whole entire life. I watched every hair growing video under the sun with no help, just "sleep on a silk pillow case, use a mask, and don't us heat!", which Id done for years and years without a difference. I had accepted long ago that my hair would never look okay without extensions. But my whole life since a little girl I dreamed of having long beautiful hair. Well at the beginning of 2023 I just decided enough is enough. I just couldn't go on any longer hating my hair, the way I looked, etc. And I found this video. I immediately began implementing the advice in this video as well as all your others and I'm being one thousand percent honest, it started getting longer and healthier in LESS THAN ONE WEEK. I could tell a difference in the way it looked and the way it felt. That was back in January or February I believe. Flash forward to now, December. My hair is longer, thicker, healthier, softer, shinier than ever before in my life. When I started my hair was a little below shoulders, now it's halfway down my back. Every single time I see a friend or family member they always comment on my hair, how long it is, what am I doing, is it extensions. What's my secret. I feel so much more beautiful and confident than I've ever felt in my life. My hair is so think you can't see through it anymore. I can actually wear it up or down or styled or anything and it looks good. I went from being someone who wore her hair in a bun constantly because of how bad it looked, who would spend hours styling it just to have to put it up for how bad it looked. Who would sleep in extensions in front of my boyfriend so he wouldn't know what my hair really looked like. 25 years worth of insecurity and dreaming of something I never thought I'd have. You have no idea the lives you change, just making videos on RUclips about hair. For someone like this, who was never taught how to care for my hair and received terribly ineffective advice whenever trying to learn. I know it might not seem like a big deal to some, but for those like me, it is nothing short of lifechanging. This has seriously been a dream I've had my entire life and it's finally come true. I am going to continue implementing your strategies, and by the end of next year if my hair keeps growing at this rate it will be at minimum down to almost my butt!! And for anyone else who was like me and happened to see this comment, just listen to this man's wisdom, do what he says, and if my hair could change yours will too!!! Good luck!!!!!!
This makes me so happy for you🥹 that’s my hair’s backstory too!! It’s really expensive to order all the things he has listed but I’m slowly ordering everything over time. Already got the hair mask, NEVER knew about the “thermal spray” instead of “heat protectant” so I ordered that. Is your hair naturally curly or straight?? I have extremely thin hair, but curlyyyy.
When shampooing I make sure to get a glob in one hand. Then, using my other hand, I dip my fingers in the glob to coat my fingertips. This helps me to actually get the shampoo through my incredibly thick and dense hair and onto my scalp. I have a friend from high school who used to have so much trouble with her hair being too dry, and full of buildup. She was using Suave and washing her hair every day. It took me over a year, but I finally convinced her to get a decent shampoo and conditioner and to cut down on washing so much. I told her to start with washing every other day and then maybe go longer depending on how active she is or how sweaty she might get. She was absolutely stunned at the results.
You have changed my life completely. Not only is my hair stronger, fluffier, healthier & happier but I can now go 5 days between washes. My flakiness was reduced to nearly 0. I used to be oily by the first or second day and needed to shower every other day. My hair is so convenient now.
Cosmetologist here. What most woman don’t know is that applying those treatments or serums is best when hair is damp or wet. Versus applying directly to dry hair … the cuticle of the hair shaft is like your face. After washing your face and putting in moisturizer your pores has kinda “open “ therefore when completely dried it will lock in the nutritional value or benefits no matter the nutritional value or benefits or brand and not feel greasy …and serum placements are a big thing … if head is oily or produces more oils why put it on the scalp. Place it towards the mid shaft to ends after shower is my best advice. I’ve dyed my hair, dealt with dried out perms of my own hair and have always had long hair down to my back and only this method have worked for me. . Even if I’m using a $30-50 shampoo or a $3 shampoo.
Hair oil has been a game changer on my mid - ends. Tryin to grow out my super fine baby hair. I mastered washing and something was still missing. Never would’ve thought to add OIL to it, until I started watching your videos. Thank you!
Sir....SIR!!!!!! I have found my hairstylist twin in you! I have been preaching all of these things to my clientele for over 20 years in my career and still preach it after retiring. Thank you for reinforcing the Hair PSA!!!! 🤗🤩🙌🏾💜 You have earned a new subbie!
As a lady with PCOS and thus, greasy hair, my hairdresser taught me these tricks. eespecially the shampoo at the roots in multiple areas, the double shampoo, and to not apply conditioner near my roots. I’ve been doing this for years and I’m so glad to see others learning these brilliant techniques.
Please do tutorial on colored hair done often, along with best color line for hair🙏. I feel like my hair would be in way better condition. If I didn’t have to redo the color roots every four weeks for white hair actually, my hair is not in too bad condition as I switched up to every product you have suggested, but please get into colored hair options would be great. Thank you.
With scalp dermatitis, I actually learned all of this by experimenting for over 10 years and I can confirm this is what worked miracles: wash when dirty, make sure you get lather, always use leave in conditioner and hair oil. Getting validation feels really encouraging.
Just wanted to thank you. I followed your advice and immediately seen insane results. My hair has now has great volume, nice curls , the ends don't look ugly, it's bouncy, and shiny. I'm grateful to have come across your video 👍🤝
OMG! I did just as you said and the ends of my hair aren't dry anymore!!! Who would have thought that such a small change could make such an difference! Thank you so much!!! Very happy girl over here 😀
This was the exact problem I was commenting on here a few days ago! Thanks Chris...any chance of a video about menopause hair, because all of beautiful ladies aging gracefully our hair does change ?!
I came back to this video to leave this comment, redken volume inject and Dyson airwrap saved my hair! I am obsessed with my hair, it’s the best ever! I cannot believe it, literally feels like I walked out of a salon. My scalp feels so clean and my hair so voluminous and beautiful. I’m so happy and grateful.
I've heard that having a proper boar bristle brush (not ones that have wood or plastic fibres in them, but are actually 100% boar bristle) are helpful to making your hair go longer in between washes. I learned this from watching videos about historical hair care. The idea is that the brush will naturally redistribute your oils and keep your hair naturally conditioned from your own oils. What are your thoughts on this? And if this is accurate/a good method to go a bit longer between washes, what are your recommended brushing methods to actually get at the oils?
Most of ppl using conditioner on the scalp as well that’s causing dandruff and oily scalp because blocking the root of the hair , kind of suffocating !

One thing that I never understood why, but it works is to always brush your hair so it's completely detangled before showering. I used to skip this because it detangles on it's on during the shower for me, but if you also skipped this step, try it out. It made a big difference for me for som reason
Thank you so much for your videos. Your channel in the BEST for hair concerns/advices on the Internet, in my opinion. No money-driven BS in disguise. Just simple, on point, honest and extremely useful advise. I will be watching all your videos for the next few months in order to help bring my hair back to life. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
I'm saving up for the professional products, but I've been using these techniques with my drug store ones until they're finished, while adding a scalp scrub to the mix. The difference has been incredible after just a couple months. I've been so frustrated with my hair the last few years, thinking the thyroid medications I'd been taking since childhood were suddenly out of balance. I kept testing, but it was only minimally out of bounds, not enough to have such a drastic effect on my hair (hair loss, dry brittle hair, oily scalp, dandruff). We fixed it, and my other symptoms balanced out, so now what? Turns out, I've had short to mid length hair for so long, the pandemic was the first time I'd kept my long hair for an extended period of time. I was in high school the last time I kept long hair, and I used to straighten or mousse it everyday, and so I washed my hair twice a week. With a bob, I stopped styling it as much cause my curls already fell nicely, I switched to more natural products, and I could go a week between washes. That didn't hold up when my hair was long. There was just so much more surface area for moisture to leak through, and the weight of my hair made my curls fall, so I felt more of a need to style. Coconut oil masks softened my hair, but it was still frizzy and weak. The apple cider rinse I used to do once a month was just not getting the gunk out for long enough. When I finally was able to go to a salon, the stylist washed, paused, and then washed my hair twice. That had never happened to me before! It finally tipped me off that something was seriously wrong with my cleansing routine. Since switching to a double scalp wash (scalp scrub, then shampoo), conditioner, leave in conditioner and oil, my hair has regained its volume, its softer and become stronger, and I can see my hair is growing back longer instead of breaking. My ponytail is thicker. My hair feels noticeably clean for nearly a week if I dont style it. I honestly can't believe it. When I'm traveling and unable to maintain the routine, it's immediately obvious that my hair won't listen the same. The frizz probably won't fully go away until I switch to professional products, but my hair is its healthiest since I last had a bob in 2019. The relief is immense.
Correct 👏🏼 oily grease bucket here 🙋🏻♀️ took me two years to transition into my hair schedule, but I finally got it. I wash once a week! Friday is wash day🤫 Suave daily clarifying shampoo ( yes I know everyone says don’t use it but) it’s cheap and it gets all the oil for a squeaky clean scalp. Always do a 5 min. hair mask and then l use a leave in conditioner only from Chin down. I have long small of back curly hair. I use spray oil for the ends only. My hair has never been this thick and I get so many compliments and people can’t believe I only wash once a week 😁 in the summer on day 4 I will use dry shampoo and some sea salt to help if I’ve been out and got sweaty.
I’ve been struggling with oily scalp, dry and frizzy hair for over a decade and your videos saved me. Now my hair looks healthy, less oily and the ends are hydrated and shiny again. Thank you.
I've had long hair all my life, and I had to learn this advice the hard way. This is 100% accurate. I would only add not to use conditioner on your scalp
Love your advice. It’s so good. I did the test and bought the available products in my country. It’s been weeks now. My hair stays clean for days and I don’t have oily hair anymore like I used to. My hair looks healthy with no dry ends. So glad i found this channel. Recommend it to everyone.
10 yrs ago I hesitantly told people I only washed my baby-fine hair once a week and everyone I told freaked out, saying it was "so gross" to not wash my hair daily or every other day. I am glad people have finally figured out the truth - that hair gets damaged from being washed too often. My daughter has a dense head of baby-fine hair and because she has so much of it, we only need to wash it every other week in most cases (unless she gets especially sweaty and dirty).
Complete opposite for me.. I told people I wash my hair daily and everyone tells me I'm ruining my hair and washing it is why it's so oily. Not that I disagree washing daily is bad.. but I cant exactly go out looking like a swamp witch every day.. Finally found powder that gets rid of the oil, but I will definitely be looking into professional shampoo and hair care as well.
@@xDarkTrinityx it takes a while to recondition your hair to not overproduce oil, but It's sooo worth the effort. For most, it takes about 2 months...during which time you can lean heavily into hair powder, wearing braids, headbands, and hats. 😬
Finally one relatable comment😂 I was like ' people wash their hair everyday?' when I don't even feel the need to shampoo because my hair never feels oily unless I apply loads of it
This video helped so much. Couldn't figure out why my hair was always greasy. I watched some hair stylists wash hair and followed your tips. My hair is so soft and shiny now. It feels so clean too. I was super excited to wash my hair.
i love these tips, i'm also no longer the target audience because i departed from conventional shampoo about 3 years ago. the most clean i could ever get my hair was with two washes and making sure to always have a hair serum to followup with the ends for when it's dry. i started mixing my own private blend of shikakai powder and some other herbs because my hair would absolutely HURT when i was using conventional shampoo. an allergy test didn't come up with a reason so i figured i'm just one of those people who gets "hair" pain with fibromyalgia and would always live with the issue until i got bored and ran across the ayurvedic hair care aannd the hair pain stopped. i know it's the scalp that actually has feeling but if you know what i'm meaning when i say my hair would hurt then i'm so sorry you go through that, too. i honestly don't know why my hair responds so much better using the basic herbs as a shampoo mask but i'm just so glad i can touch my head again. i actually have the oily/dry combo issue sometimes and if i mix my shampoo with too much conditioning stuff i get really weighed down hair that's still dry at the ends where there is still bleach. these days i just drop some jojoba oil on my hands and run it through damp hair and braid it the day before i plan to wash it and then do a cleansing mud mask on damp hair, pray i rinse all the debris out, lol. it's not glamourous but it gets me clean.
I just want to say THANK YOU. 🙏 Your videos helped me and my hair is finally starting to show progress after 3 years of tears, money, hair salons, energy and not knowing what to do anymore (while spending a ton of money on expensive hair care with little improvements). Thank you from all my heart 🩷 Recommended your channel to my friends. Now I will gladly watch this video. 😊 Much love from Slovenia 🇸🇮👋
@@mared8000 Hi! Im from EU, my hair was dry and couldnt get any lenght for 2 years now (split ends, I used too much heat on it + I get blonde highlights 3 times a year in a salon, dry hair with a lot of breakage, cried when I saw in 1 year I still had the same hair lenght). I can type to you what I use. Shampoo and conditioner: Redken bonding concentrate; Mask: Olaplex no. 3 + DM Balea Oil repair intensiv; Heat protecting spray: DM Aveo professional heat protect spray; Oil: DM Balea Oil repair intensiv. I buy new hair brushes every 6 months (cheap ones so I don't have to clean them) this step is really important btw. I also watch carefully when my hair is wet so I don't break it too much (coam my hair carefully). I use Olaplex 3 times a month (good enough for me) and then I use the mask 1 time per week (else your hair gets too oily) - watch out for that. I let my hair after I put all of this in it in a bun in a towel for 30 mins and then I blow dry it on MEDIUM heat and not to close to the hair. Good luck 🩷 I saw a ton of differences after listening to him 😊🙏
It’s crazy I’ve been looking for ways to get my dry hair moisturized and trying to find the real issue; and this man just explained it in detail In less than 20 minutes. I truly appreciate the informative details that doesn’t just tell me how to solve my issue but what’s causing it. This is a perfect example of someone who’s doing this to help people not just for money.
I just landed on your channel and I'm absolutely blown away by your frankness, your science-based knowledge about hair and the haircare guidelines that you so generously share with the world. 👍👍👍 You are now officially my top go-to source of information on haircare. Thank you for creating these videos!✅️💡📽
Just wanted to say I'm thankful for the advice you give! I've been adding your product recommendations and techniques to my routine and habe noticed a night and day difference. Even with a simple blow dry, I have received compliments from friends thinking I've just had a salon appointment! Thank you!
I don’t know which is my shampoo soulmate. I’m trying to use the Olaplex number 3,4,5 because it’s really damaged. Could you suggest which are best shampoo for dry and damaged hair also I have frizziness in my hair
i didn't realize that i intuitively do all of these things. i went into this video expecting to be like "wow i do none of these things, i should do them now" and left the video feeling good that i already have good hair habits. One thing that has personally worked miracles for me is sealing my ends with a very small small dot like not even a pinky nails worth of organic castor oil. i put a bit in when my hair is wet (i personally take night showers and sleep once my hair is dry) and then a small bit in the morning if i feel it is necessary. my ends are literally shiny, it's actually insane how well castor oil works for dry ends.
I'm so grateful to you and all the work put in to these videos, thank you for sharing your knowledge and teaching me more about hair than I've managed to learn in the last 33 years! My hair is in such a bad way at the moment and it's really been getting me down so I have been watching so many of your videos and have bought some things you have recommended for my hair type and with any luck, I'll start to see some improvement. Truly grateful 😊
After a month and a half, I noticed a difference! Here in the Ph it’s pretty normal to wash the hair everyday due to the weather/extreme heat so my dad always side eyes me when I don’t wash my hair everyday haha I thought I just have a really bad scalp bc of the oilyness but buying new shampoo and having a new shower routine changed things a lot and so thank you! ❤
Just started this routine this morning. I literally feel NOTHING on my head. As if I just shaved all my hair off. Excited to see what tomorrow brings!!
I am now at the age where night sweats and hormones are playing havoc with my hair. It's fine, wavy, goes curly when humid and was prone to being lank if conditioned but still dry. After watching your videos, I changed shampoo (not to a Pro one but I seem to have found a good one), made sure to use your washing method, changed the way I used conditioner and now use a leave in one as well for the mid to ends. At some point I may well get a light oil for the ends but I can now leave my hair for 4 days without washing and that is with a light work out every day. My hair now looks a lot better, is soft and not frizzy. On days when I shower and need to do a dry shampoo afterwards, I use it as you advised and then blow any damp out with a cold dryer. Works a treat for me.
@@Nadia-ox1kf You don't. Dry shampoo can be used on days when you would otherwise be desperate to wash it, it gives you another day. I used to have to wash my hair every day. Now, even with daily work outs and showers, I only have to wash my hair every 4-5 days. On non hair wash days, I cover my hair while in the shower.
So i followed this advice today and my hair got clean so fast with just a really little shampoo compared to what i used to use. Im looking forward to the happier ends now. Thanks a lot
Hey Chris your advice was life changing for me. I have thick, long medium type hair and forever struggled with dryness. The Redken shampoo and washing technique rocks!! Thank you so much for everything you do!!! ❤❤❤ I love your sense of humour, great videos! 😂
I have been following your hair routine for about 6 months with great results. My hair is longer, healthier & super shiney. Question: When should I use hair oil on my ends? While it's still damp after my leave in conditioner? Or after my heat protection cream & blow dry as a finishing step? Everything else is going great, but I still have dry ends. I appreciate your channel so much. Thank you.
It's different for different people. You'll probably just have to do trial and error. I do hair oil as a last step if I'm letting my hair air-dry or after I plop and before I mousse & diffuse. I have very fine, red, wavy hair. My sister always uses it directly after her leave-in conditioner and whenever she refreshes her hair. She has thicker, black, 3a curls. My mom uses it after her hair is completely dry when she runs her fingers lightly through her hair to break the cast. She has grey, color-treated (blonde), fine 3c curls.
Turned to RUclips for a quick fix on my crunchy, kinky, ends on my hair I only washed a little over a day ago. It was fine yesterday but super bad this morning. Quickly learned that the problem was I let it air dry without hair oil!!! So I wet the ends and added my fav hair oil and now it’s perfect again. Thanks for the video!

8 sprays of leave in conditioner? Too much conditioner will make it frizzy and dry. Too much protein in hair

So many hair professionals I have been to seem to know very little about hair care. You know your stuff.
Ignore this, I’m taking notes for myself
-better shampoo: wash the scalp (part down the middle, then on the sides, then neck) (two washes, half the amount of shampoo as used on the first one)
-conditioner/hair mask
-leave-in conditioner on wet hair (12-16 sprays for my hair type) then brush it with a wet brush
-hair oil (use only a bit on ends)
-clean your filthy brushes
Heavy product test:
Leave out 1 product per wash, see if your hair is oily or not
Wash hair with clay.

What kind of filter do you use ?
@@DanaKot336 I tried to use one for the bath but it didn't work very well, sadly. :( I've resorted to going over to my parents' house to wash my hair when I need to.
@@rodsmadehard water has a lot of minerals in it and leaves water stains in your faucet and silverware. Soft water has less minerals, you can filter your water to make it softer. It depends how the water is where you live.
One simple and affordable solution is rinsing the hair (last rinse) using a little bit of apple vinegar mixed with water. The acid in the vinegar breaks down the minerals in hard water and it helps
@@TheCgonzales8 Really? That's good to know, thanks.
Name of the serum
my hair growth increased with reactivate hair serum as well
I have seen a lot of new hairs from reactivate serum for hair growth
Exactly. This is individual for everyone. You need to tailor to your specific needs
Other tips you can apply:
- change your pillow case frequently, and if they're satin or silk even better.
Don't go around giving useless suggestions without proper research.
what type of supplements?
Did you manage to find it? Cause I'm looking for it too
better tips than the ones in the video
I’ve just discovered your channel… I’m IN LOVE with the way you talk and explain haircare, your passion is tangible !
I had the same issue... we build in a water filter because the hard water not only destroyed my hair but also all our machines
I have a shower filter. Chlorine also is really bad for your hair
May I ask what shampoo you switched to?
What were you not doing from this vid? Curious on what helped you. Because I already did everything in this vid and hair is always oily after sleeping.
@@Nadia-ox1kf you said it's oily after sleeping -- maybe you need to wash you pillowcase more often
What shampoo did you use?? I want to get there, 3 days between washes😭 can only do 2 max. My frikken cousin bounces her prefect 2 week hair around in my face I can't😂

Vinegar the only thing that solves that problem
I started washing my hair like you recommended and boom 💥 I used to have oily buildup by day 2. Really oily! Now I can easily go three days without that oily buildup and even on day 4, it’s still not horrible. My pillow cases aren’t showing oil patches either. AND my coworkers have been saying how great my hair has been looking. Fantastic!

What if you work out every day? Isn’t it get oily??
For me, it actually was a hormonal imbalance that led to an oily scalp. I discovered it when I got pregnant and my hair could suddenly do 3 days without washing when I had to wash it every day before. It might also be a good idea to get checked out by a doctor.
Can I ask what did you do to fix your hormonal unbalance?

@@sarahjohnson9443 there are many factors definitely track your changes, diet plays a large role as well as environmental, trauma, genetics etc and ofc any type of products and ingredients we use and are exposed to.
I was just thinking of Abbey Young when he said not to lather shampoo!
@@Lana-hl3tg well, the clip they used is actually hers lol
I really don’t think it matters as long as you’re washing twice. I have done it both ways and the end result is the same. The only difference with emulsifying is (for me personally) it distributes better and I end up using less. With the other method I usually concentrate more in certain spots and there’s not enough left for others so I go back for more.
When I switched to Pantene Volume (away from all the expensive shampoos I was using before) my oily scalp problems disappeared… I never touched Pantene before that but I’m glad I did!

Was wondering when do you put the oil in your hair? Do you put it on your hair along with the leave in conditioner while it's wet? I know in one of his videos he puts it on after the hair is styled, that's what I've been doing but I've noticed some people put it in before blow drying there hair. Was just curious.

They never tell you how to shampoo your hair, so we all have just been doing what we think is right. This is genius and has changed my hair dramatically alone without any products. 😘

What about if you have very coarse frizzy 3c curls
Don’t you need an creamy moisturiser?
Same here. I'll go crazy from the heat and sweat if I don't get my scalp wet at least once a day. But I have learned to skip the shampoo for every day.
Which leave in conditioner?
Ah yes, tropical country + my frizzy hair is just hell. But if I may ask, what product did you use for the shampoo, leave-in-conditioner and the hair oil/mask? Please I need it😭 my hair is so frizzy that everytime it dried it just puffs out and looks more like a lion's mane than actual hair
Yes! Us tropical sweaty people need to wash up hehe. The lathering is something like brushing teeth. People don't notice their forms.
I feel you, did you get exposed to mold from water damage too?
Can you make videos on
Hair oil after hair is styled.
Leave in conditioner first followed by oil. The oil can be used on wet or dry hair.

Thanks for the great video
oo i will be trying that routine! and btw do you do this everyday or is there a specific day you do this routine? also thank you for this ^^
same question
Wow, that’s the best “explain it to me like I’m 5 years old” explanation I’ve ever heard 🔥👌
Conditioner + Hair mask
Step 1: Leave in Conditioner
- prevents moister from escaping
- spray onto wet hair and brush it through with a wet brush
- 8 sprays for fine hair, 12 sprays for medium hair, 16 sprays for coarse hair
Step 2: Hair oil
- Seals hair ends
- Heavier than conditioner, use sparingly (less is more)
Wow! Thanks for your summary!
Did it work for you on the very first wash? Because I'm three washes in My hair is just as oily as it usually is on day two 😢
Your advice has changed my hair majorly. I have seen growth and healthy hair
Amazing! ❤ I can’t believe I’ve been washing my hair “wrong” my whole life. This man is a HERO!
Great advice for my oily clients!

Now I have tons of new hair growth and it looks so healthy and bouncy. Thank you soooooo much 💖
I'm in love with this aggressive tone
I appreciate how clear, straightforward, and logically sound your instruction is! No fluff except for hilarious joke insertions that register three seconds later. 😂
You say “simple” shampoo, and yet “professional” shampoo.
Your hair might have had a lot of damage, your hair now has a fresh start! Don’t worry. It grows back
I believe it! Things like that happen to me too and I know that God is taking care of things. You just have to watch for the signs and believe!
The same thing happened to me last week, he broke my hair, now I have to be patient and remember that it will grow eventually 😔
Thk u good to know
This makes me so happy for you🥹 that’s my hair’s backstory too!!
How much time did it take you to
Cosmetologist here.
You have earned a new subbie!
Any recommendations for hair oil please?
@@Athanassiiaaa I am actually really happy with an oil blend from L'Occitane. But all my friends can swear for the Olaplex one.
@@alexs9746 thank you so much!I will do my research
Just wanted to thank you. I followed your advice and immediately seen insane results. My hair has now has great volume, nice curls , the ends don't look ugly, it's bouncy, and shiny. I'm grateful to have come across your video 👍🤝
OMG! I did just as you said and the ends of my hair aren't dry anymore!!! Who would have thought that such a small change could make such an difference! Thank you so much!!! Very happy girl over here 😀
Can please tell what products u used after the shower ?
This was the exact problem I was commenting on here a few days ago! Thanks Chris...any chance of a video about menopause hair, because all of beautiful ladies aging gracefully our hair does change ?!
Justin hickox has some menopause hair advice on you tube which I watch as well
I came back to this video to leave this comment, redken volume inject and Dyson airwrap saved my hair!
Como eu poderia conseguir o esfoliante de pré lavagem?!
Thank you.
I bought the pureology spray conditioner bc you said it was a game changer & IT IS. Thank you for helping me get better hair 🙏🙏🙏
He's shown a purple&gray bottle..has packaging changed? I only see a pinky beige with blue bottle online now
@@ccMomOfJays They changed the packaging but formula is still the same!
I've had long hair all my life, and I had to learn this advice the hard way. This is 100% accurate. I would only add not to use conditioner on your scalp
changing my hair routine/shampoo/aftercare has made a huge difference. Thanks for your videos!!
Hi! What’s your hair type and what products do you use?
Good luck 🩷 I saw a ton of differences after listening to him 😊🙏
@@mared8000 Also Im about to buy leave in conditioner, now I know I will see even more progress, Im so excited 🤗 dont forget to buy one ✔️
It’s crazy I’ve been looking for ways to get my dry hair moisturized and trying to find the real issue; and this man just explained it in detail
In less than 20 minutes.
You are now officially my top go-to source of information on haircare.
One thing that has personally worked miracles for me is sealing my ends with a very small small dot like not even a pinky nails worth of organic castor oil. i put a bit in when my hair is wet (i personally take night showers and sleep once my hair is dry) and then a small bit in the morning if i feel it is necessary. my ends are literally shiny, it's actually insane how well castor oil works for dry ends.
best advice I have ever received, he explains so throughly! will definitely try all of these tips.
Your shampoo and conditioner changed my life. Thank you ❤
I'm so grateful to you and all the work put in to these videos, thank you for sharing your knowledge and teaching me more about hair than I've managed to learn in the last 33 years! My hair is in such a bad way at the moment and it's really been getting me down so I have been watching so many of your videos and have bought some things you have recommended for my hair type and with any luck, I'll start to see some improvement. Truly grateful 😊
After a month and a half, I noticed a difference! Here in the Ph it’s pretty normal to wash the hair everyday due to the weather/extreme heat so my dad always side eyes me when I don’t wash my hair everyday haha
I thought I just have a really bad scalp bc of the oilyness but buying new shampoo and having a new shower routine changed things a lot and so thank you! ❤
Im from the PH too and have a terribly frizzy hair. What products are you using if you dont mind sharinh? Pls and thanks!
Can I ask what shampoo worked for you? I have a wavy hair. Thank you!
What shampoo are you now using?
@janikkim can you share the shampoo you're using, please?
May I know what products did you use?
oh my gosh just found your page and you’re totally changing my perspective on hair growth, ty!
Can I ask what shampoo you use? I've had a time finding one that is any good.
Wait, if things got better why would you use dry shampoo after you wash it?
