Zero issues with my 4xe Rubicon. Tesla, GM and other EVs have had similar recalls. The 4xe is the second most powerful Wrangler.

they will figure out the problems and fix it just like the other car manufacturers do

I ordered a 2024 Wrangler Rubicon 392 in Bikini Pearl from Military Auto Source (MAS) here in Germany back in Sept. Build date is Dec. 11th and I should have it by Feb. 2024. I opted for the Warn winch and vinyl floor covering. I should have the only one in Europe according to the salesman. I'll definitely be sending in photos to DRC and try to get on as a viewer rig of the video.

I purchased the 4XE because it was a hybrid. Then the recall says I can’t even plug it in. That is why I bought it.
    This is wrong..

So I purchased a 20A 4xe in July of this year. I noticed a few weeks ago that the transmission was wet with oil. After further investigation I determined the case was leaking from above the pan. That coupled with the New recall, I'm not waiting up to 9 months for a new transmission. Dealer happened to have 2 392s on the lot. One 20A AEV and a 24 XR. I made them fix my issue quite quickly and I'm happily driving the 392 XR.

Now on my fourth Jeep and it is a 2021 Sahara high altitude 4xe. The best Jeep I have ever owned and I could never go back to the low power V6. While there have been some minor issues with software updates this vehicle is as close to the perfect Jeep I've ever had. I would never buy the 392 because of its horrible gas mileage. As with any new technology there will be a few issues of which I have had none. As we all know and with my experience with my previous Jeeps they spend a lot of time in the shop. I reluctantly bought my first Jeep because I drive a motor home and Jeep is one of the only decent 4x4s that can be flat towed. If Toyota could be flat towed I never would have purchased my first Jeep, but that being said the 4xE has really impressed me on the trails of Colorado and I'm now a loyal Jeep customer.

Ordered a Willys XR from Tuttle Click in Irvine, CA on August 22. Went into D1 status on 10/12, then back to D because of the strike, and just got a new build date of 12/12 earlier this week. Was hoping for pre-new years delivery but unlikely right now.

I've owned 3 JLURs now: 2019 V6, 2022 392 and now 2024 4xE. They were all good in their own ways, but I actually like my 2024 4xe the most. The 392 had some issues (front locker not working, power steering constantly overheating), and the front suspension was weak - it would bottom out if it went off my driveway lol. My 2024 4xe has been perfect so far on my commutes and weekend trails (I run difficult trails). 37's, Mopar lift, winch, the thing is unstoppable. It's wild to be able to run in electric around town with a Jeep on 37s. When you need ICE, it's got great power. The 2024 updates are worth the money - power seats! Side curtain airbags, great infotainment, and the power pack is such a cool feature. Being able to have that much onboard power is often overlooked as a fantastic feature.

The other major downside is that dealerships are saying “parts not ready yet” on the recall. They’re being told Q1 or Q2 2024. Considering they’re saying not to even charge it, that’s a heavy empty battery to haul around when some bought the vehicle for the efficiency. I seriously doubt Jeep compensates the owners for the extra gas used.

Tuesday morning my fiance wakes me up that her car won’t start when she’s trying to leave for work. 38 miles on the clock and the 12v battery is stone dead. Was able to charge the 12v and get it driving and it did fine after. But it’s currently at the dealer getting checked out.

Can’t agree more. I was game-on to replace my 2020 Oscar Mike 2.0. Started searching available inventory in area (NY) for a 2024 Willy’s 2.0 for 6 months. Biggest inventory I’ve seen in years (maybe build-up in anticipation of strike?) but nearly all 2024 are EV. Extremely limited ICE even in 250 mile range of me. Not opposed to EV but when you can’t compare, frustrating to a point that I am unbelievably looking at other options outside of Jeep. In recent weeks, we have seen other large OEMs begin the inevitable talk pushback on EV transition mandates but not Stellantis. You are correct, it is hurting the brand and maybe in a big way. For a brand with some manufacturing challenges, troubling for sure. On the positive, that video is by far the quickest top removal ever. Keep up the solid content and discussions like these, which I hope will expand your reach.

Matt, Thanks for bringing the 4Xe problem to my attention! I entered my VIN into the NHTSA website and found my 23 Rubicon is in the clear. A little over 4,000 miles and zero problems…knock on wood! The use case is working out great for us, getting over 600 miles per tank unless we take a trip. Love the ability to control how the electric propulsion is being used on those 50 mile round trips!

Thank god I got rid of my 22’ 4xe. I was bummed out about how I had issues with it from literally day one. I loved how the 4xe drove due to the heavier weight and better handling. I had everything I wanted in it, all white, and it being a Rubicon with the potential of better gas mileage 😏.
The second day I had it I notice two different fluids leaking under the vehicle, my dealership kept it 3 months due to part shortages.
I get it back and drove it 2 more months for it to continue to leak fluid. Finally I was able to drive it a total of 4 months before the whole check engine light/recall/software update debacle.
In that time the jeep started to act strange with how it would go in and out of FORM. Also was not told that charging inside would be an issue which it was garage kept and the plug from the charging ended up frying the receptacle (Jeep issue or not, it still happened).
In the 8 months I had this Jeep I drove it a total of 4 1/2 months and only 4,000 miles put on it. For me it was a complete nightmare and will never again get a new model year vehicle (lesson learned the hard way).

Call jeep an pester them till they give you a rental and take the car till they fix it . They offered me a rental after I called them non stop but by the time they answered I had already traded my car for a used gas gladiator. They would not give me any compensation for any of this . But believe me they will give you a rental if you call them enough times and insist . Hope this helps others .

  • @Tode-kishi
    @Tode-kishi 5 месяцев назад +1

Jeep is paying for a rental while they figure out the problem , the issue is you have to call them and insist on it. They are not being proactive about it ,and that leaves a lot to be desired honestly . It’s a safety recall and they should be handling it better . I personally sold mine for way lower market value , and got a gas one . I asked jeep for compensation but got nowhere . Their costumer service is all lip service . Too bad for a company that depends so much on loyalty to the brand .
They are paying for rental while they fix the issue but you have to pester them and that’s the problem.
I see a huge class action in the works and I will happily sign on to it .

I didn’t realize that was the rule in PA but I saw it when I was jeep shopping in Northeast PA. Wanted a 2024 Willys, they only had 4xes and some old used wranglers. Having not owned a jeep before and only being able to test drive the 4xe or a used wrangler that was still over 40k, I ended up buying a bronco

It makes you think that maybe Jeep is trying to push it's customers away to like the Ford bronco or the new Toyota cruiser

After 20 years of Jeep I finally gave up and went Bronco this year. No regrets so far. But I will admit that Bikini Pearl is a boss color (Deep Water Blue is still my all time fav though) but with red seats. Yuck. I would never drive a 4xe. I spent more than a year waiting for them to get a solution for the manual clutch in the JL.

Jeep Wrangler 4xe 2022 with 19,000 miles fully loaded. Cars been in the dealership twice for horrific death wobble and both times they failed to fixed it completely. New steering bar and 3 months later it completely breaks down and back to death wobble again. AND NOW GET THIS! While driving on the road the car completely shut down while driving, steering locked, and had to come to a stop in a super dangerous situation. The entire car basically is a fried donut. Waiting for the dealer to call us and tell us whats going on. What a turdtastic shit box. Never dealing with a Jeep again.

Regardless of whether you like electric or fuel I have a JK and agree with the old schools is that the last true Jeep is the Lj/Tj because they still stuck with their military roots. I feel like they are moving away from what made them great and are moving towards more soccer mom vehicles.

I had a 4xe Grand Cherokee and it was awful. I live in the Phoenix area, and that 4xe system DOES NOT work in the heat. I couldn't drive it in electric mode for like 5 months because it always said 'temporarily unavailable'. I ended up trading it for 3.6 powered Rubicon X.

Yes, we ordered through the AP and Lindsey is amazing! We ordered July 3rd and picked up my Jeep November 24! Loving the SOT , so convenient. We drove 600 miles to pick up my Jeep, turned right back around and drove 600 miles back home. 🥴😴 Thank you for your pg. we get great information from you guys.

I almost bought a 2024 4XE Wrangler Rubicon recently. The reliability issues on the forums gave me pause, then the possible 2025 changes stopped me. If they can get the issues fixed, I want to buy a Jeep. If not, I'm leaning toward Toyota Land Cruiser or next gen Forerunner. I really want to love the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon.

I ordered a 2 door rubicon with a manual transmission back in april. According to the jeep website on november 28th it went into production and on the 29th it was built. Dose that seem right? It takes one day to build after eight months?

Yes. A vehicle goes through he entire assembly process in a very short amount of time. What takes time is getting the parts together ( engine assembled in one factory/ seats are upholstered in another/ body panels painted/ seatbelts, etc, etc) Once all the parts are made and shipped to one location, on the assembly line it's amazing how fast a vehicle comes together. [I have family and friends that work in an assembly plant] There was quite a while with the chip shortage that my friend was paid to sit at home because they didn't have parts.

I would love to be able to consider a 4xe. But until they can do that in a 2 door, that option is not available to me. I love my 2 doors. I have been driving them since the mid 80's, and my current one is a 2020 2 door rubicon. I can promise I will never drive a 4 door wrangler. So until it is available in a 2 doors, I"m stuck with gas options only.

Fan of the brand, bought three over the years. I'll buy a 4xe when I can get 50-100 miles electric and then use gas. Basically, I want to put around town on electric, then go on long range with gas. 20 miles of electric range doesn't get a roundtrip from suburbs to city.

Jeep NEEDS to open that up! Don't force 4xe down our throats! That's a great way to lose people! (no hate I own a 4xe) but it's my 3rd Jeep! No do not try to force it, I personally will NEVER buy a vehicle without a drive of one mechanically the same, EVER! gas is not dead yet and trying to make us want 4xe has the opposite effect!
