@@claraerosedautdunno what country or what laws but, absolutely seems like a fairly straight line to manslaughter. There’s another disease that’s punishable in the US, should you knowingly expose anyone unsuspecting to it…it would seem like this could run along the same damn lines. Infuriating. My hope in humanity is but one side of two, I hold, when it comes to it. I couldn’t keep waiting for hope to repair the ugly things humans do, to even out my feelings on this existence on the daily. So…just like for eons, now, in cultures & religions & general ideas within humanity, there are 2 sides in my mind; the good & the bad. Though I do believe, very strongly, that once we unveil enough information on the functioning of humans, all of us will be fully able & likely wanting to do all the good we’re capable. I have a… “friend”. Back in 2019 we had a car we didn’t need, and were planning on donating. We heard this person(who we had yet to meet) needed a car. She was a single mom of four with a lot of health issues. The car was a 1999 Toyota Camry. It was always taken care of. Had zero damage to the body and interior. We made sure to take the car to our mechanic who went over it w/a fine tooth comb. We paid for any work that needed to be done on it. We paid for an oil change, new wipers, filled it with gas, etc. we even paid for the registration because we knew she was struggling. It’s just me and my mom. We ourselves are on fixed incomes. We live together because I have a really bad autoimmune condition that has done a number on my body. I’ve had 20 surgeries b/c of said condition.
But my mom and I just wanted to help, and we knew we could. So we did. This women destroyed and I mean DESTROYED that car within 6 months of getting it. I wasn’t happy, but what could
      I do about it?
Well during Covid and over the last 3-4 years I’ve helped her out with rides to different places, food, money, etc.
3-4 weeks ago she started texting me with texts like “I need $10, $25, $30”, and just expected me to Cashapp her.
I started to get mad like “I’m not your personal bank account”
Then she would let her son go hang out with his friends w/no way to get back to the place they are staying. I have a feeling she told him I’d give him a ride home, Round trip I would have spent 2+ hours in the car. My gas, my time, my car.
She wouldn’t even ask me if I could pick her son up and take him home. She would just tell me he needed a ride. Like I’m a freaking chauffeur.
I told her “no”, and she would say “but he’s stuck with no way to get home”.
      Not my problem.
Last week she texted me saying “I need $25 for an Uber. Im stuck.”
I told her I couldn’t do it. She said “but I’m stuck”, and I still can’t give you the money. So then she said “well pick me up”.
I said “no to that too”.
She was mad, but backed off. I don’t know how she got home and I don’t care. I thought “good she’s finally figured out I’m not her bank account and I’m not her on demand free Uber driver”.
I was wrong. She started again with the bs the next day. I just kept saying “no”.
There are certain people that once you do one or two move things for them they start to expect it. They think it’s their right to demand things from you, and that you have to come through because you always did before.
I just don’t answer my phone for this person right now. Not my monkeys, not my problem.
      LEAVE ME ALONE!
      ***
P.S. what really set me over the edge and had me start to say “no” was when I went over the money I had sent her for Uber, food, etc in November alone and it came out to $300+. I was pissed. I am on a fixed income. I can’t afford to pay for someone else’s life when I am having a hard time financially myself.
It’s not easy to live right now. It’s a struggle because everything is so damn expensive.
Your financial situation is not my problem. Keeping a roof over mine and my mom’s heads, food in our stomachs, and gas in my car so that I can get to where I need to go is my priority.
      NOTHING ELSE!

As someone studying law, there is a plethora of potential lawsuits that could be filed here. Especially for “uncle bob”. OP would likely not have any legal issues on her end, since it is all self-defense. Harassment suits would depend on the state statutes. This story is crazy though, and courts can sometimes be hesitant to step in on family matters unless things go too far (likely in this case).

I do feel sorry for the young kids who won't get the same financial support with their higher education like the older ones did just because of the actions of their parents /older siblings etc, but I do agree that if OP continued helping as they did, this would escalate.

That woman is a saint. She is single handedly changing the opportunities available to her family and friends. Entitlement is the opposite of gratitude. Never feel entitled unless your OWN labor/choices has brought about what you feel entitled to.

This was a rollercoaster…long stories are the most interesting of all…I hope OP gets more blessings because she knows how to put it to good use and that is helping people who are in need…she is also brave to protect it from greedy grabby hands of people who would like to take advantage of it…i hope Blabbermouth gets what she deserves and be put in jail longer…

Oh dear lord. What a mess. I started crying when she was told the daughter died. I was horrified when she got beat up, I was smiling when the dog helped, both times and I was ecstatic when they were finally arrested. I hope so much that it will got better now. Psst. You might want a headset or a mic stand 😆 Great story. Thank you and merry Christmas

Holy sh*t, that covid uncle straight up killed that girl. That man should absolutely face charges of manslaughter. Knowingly giving someone an illness is extremely illegal in the US, and the fact that the poor girl was killed makes those charges even more serious.

This was so great John! Loved it. Do more long stories, I was completely invested.
As for the story, I feel bad for OP. My great aunt had to deal with that before and it’s disgusting. 1:23:40
My great aunt is very well off. She does realty and her husband is a retired fireman/ski instructor.
She has 9 siblings. Our family is nothing but addicts and farmers so we never had money. But she made it, and made it big. Then all of her siblings started attacking her. Showing up to her house demanding money. Kicking in her doors, the works. She was going through ivf at this time. She ended up having 2 miscarriages due to our crackhead/alcoholic family members. She’s never had children of her own, but she did adopt. She moved out the state and now vacations every couple months out of the country. I’m glad she’s living her best life now.

I can’t imagine someone paying for my sons education and paid my house off being anything but kind and accommodating like I’d go out of my way to make them happy like let’s say their coming over for dinner I’d ask them what their fav meal was what their fav drinks are like wtf is wrong with ppl!!I feel terrible for the OP I’m so happy she doesn’t give in she does so much for everyone she sounds like she has a huge heart but do not mistake her kindness for weakness!! Hoping they all just leave her the hell alone!
