  • Cozy Powell passes the pie with his mate, Led Zeppelin's Robert Plant in 1980. Cozy was always very popular on UK TV and always in for a bit of fun .....or a prank or two!
Cozy Powell played his final show with rainbow on 16th August 1980 when the band headlined Donington's first Monsters Of Rock Festival.

Great footage, I was old enough to be watching shows like this in the early 80s but alas too young to know who these guys were at the time, there's a great clip of the Gillan Band playing "live" on No. 73 somewhere on youtube also.

Nice little piece out of the time vault. That brings back a lot of memories. Life was whole lot simpler back then. I sometimes wish we could to those days. No cell phones or computers. RIP Cozy.

One of my favorite drummers.. he was out of Rainbow at that time.. I often wondered how he would've sounded as a replacement for John Bonham, we will never know unfortunately 😟

Oh for the gift of a time machine, I would jump in and get away from the present shitshow and re live the 1970s/80s 3:57 , yes there was still shit going on but nothing on the scale we are enduring now. The asylum being run by the inmates.

This video is from Robert Plant and Cozy Powell's appearance on the British children's program "Tiswas", broadcast October 17, 1981. (This video was not recorded in 1980; during LED ZEPPELIN's activities, manager Peter Grant would never have allowed anything to tarnish the members' image in order to flatter the press.) In 1981, Robert Plant was working on his first solo In 1981, Robert Plant was working on his first solo album, Pictures at Eleven, and Cozy Powell appeared on television with Robert in connection with it.("Cozy Powell of Rainbow" = Cozy left Rainbow after the August 1980 show at Donington, so this is also wrong.)

This clip from Tiswas with Cozy was broadcast on 17th October 1981 and not 1980 as the original post title states.

Robert Plant was a really good sport, having just lost a child a few years earlier
I have a feeling this is just after 1980 .
