Yeah, my cousin once went missing from our backyard when they were visiting, and all the adults were so worried because it was a neighborhood in the LA area of California. (Not a dangerous one, but all it takes is one snatch to lose your child.) (Luckily they found him right when the policewoman showed up.) I also used to leave the house at 5 am most mornings when I was 5, because I liked to see the sunrise. I’d run back to the door whenever a car came by, but one morning I decided to take my 1-year-old brother on a walk with me around the neighborhood. We had a lovely time in the cool morning air, looking at the purple flowers in the trees, but my mom was really mad when we got back. Of course, I understand that now.

I know me commenting this isn't going to do anything, since there is always those people in videos like this that can't accept "accidents happen" and "this parent is neglectful and should be arrested and be put in the chair, oh the humanity~" but yeah, accidents happen. Not every parent is neglecting their child. " but what if something were to happen" well It didn't. It's literally impossible for parents to have their eye on thier child 24/7 365 days a year until they are old enough. Once he asked if she was missing a boy she was going back to the room to look for him until the officer said they had him and was ok. Maybe the mom was so tired and only took a nap. We don’t really know anything all we know is that once that baby saw his mommy he was happy.

Have faith in JESUS CHRIST as LORD and SAVIOR for HE SAVES from hell❗️
      *What is the Gospel?*
The true gospel is the good news that God saves sinners. Man is by nature sinful and separated from God with no hope of remedying that situation. But God, by His power, provided the means of man’s redemption in the death, burial, and resurrection of the Savior, Jesus Christ.
      Ephesians 2:8-9
For it is by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of GOD, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
      Romans 10:9

As a mom- I can say for certain you see the realization hit her and the panic onset immediately. The difference is purely in the “where is my kid?” And “I need to make sure my kids okay” versus “am I in trouble?” Or “*insert any excuse*”. She’s not hoping to self preservation she explains what happened but her main focus is where is my child and is my child safe she never once mentions herself as a priority which shows this was an accidental escape not a neglectful or abusive parent getting away with anything. She’s probably exhausted and toddler stage is no joke, they will climb anything and their curiosity can sometimes lead them into trouble.

@OG i literally did the same thing as a child (2yo). my mom woke up to police banging on the door with me chilling with a dr.pepper in hand. apparently a lady found me wandering around my apartment complex, got me a soda and called the cops to report it. she knew where i lived bc she had seen my mom and i around the complex before. just like in the video my mom was asleep and had no idea i was gone. my mom said she had moved the couch in front of the front door that night and slept there so i wouldn’t get out again. before you go saying “tHiS cOuLd nEvEr hApPeN” think about the fact that there are 7 billion people on this planet. over a 100 billion people to ever exist on earth. that’s 100,000,000,000+ possibilities. if you’ve ever thought about something chances are someone else has done it or thought it too. humanity has done it all. from the very best to the most vile, unspeakable acts that most wouldn’t even consider human. not everyone has good intentions, but not everyone has bad intentions either. this mother was clearly very worried for her child and her son even seemed very happy to be reunited with her. accidents happen, let’s all just be glad that he was safely returned in the end!! 👍

To imagine this could be her first and possibly only child so far, as she looks young herself, and I bet she's constantly worried about the doors and windows being locked and making sure lil Mateo is always fed and happy and kept busy; that one first and single time she falls asleep with only the bottom lock done, probably even napping with the kid, and the adventurous lil dude finds a green-light to go journey into the wilderness. You can tell she was terrified before even knowing he'd left the house. I know there are wonderful day care providers out there and that parents don’t often have a choice given life’s circumstances. I’ve seen and heard far too many scary things and I have a huge amount of trust issues just in general. It’s one thing for a exhausted mom to fall asleep unintentionally but how does a kid get out of a daycare without someone noticing immediately?! 🤔 one more fear to add to the list. Again I know there are wonderful daycare providers out there and while I had custody of my niece I found a lady who is absolutely amazing. My niece had a lot of issues and tramuas she had to deal with and she must have test out 5 other day cares none of them worked until the 6 one. She would literally beg to be able to stay longer and she didn’t even do that at family’s house that she adored she would see us and immediately say her goodbyes and be ready to go. This women had the magic touch and though my niece is in school now I’m still good friends with the lady and I refer anyone I know that’s looking for a daycare provider to her.
Mariah I’m glad your dad noticed the kid and startled him onto the right safe side of the fence. Kids can definitely be both crafty and sneaky.

Now that it’s not child neglect. That’s simply being a parent that experience lots of parents have been through With their toddlers. It’s OK mama. It looks like everything was a blessing. Don’t be so hard on yourself 😊🙏✝️❤️

Yeah, this is for sure an honest accident. Did you see that poor mama? 🥺❤️Something similar happened when I was a kid and my little brother (3) was home alone napping on the couch with his mom. When we pulled into the driveway he was walking down the sidewalk just next to our house!! 😱 She was in tears just from the realization. Mamas get over tired. Good recommendation from the police to child proof the door handles.

I can relate. When my son was around 2, I put him and my brand new baby down for a nap. Miraculously they both fell asleep. I took the chance to catch some sleep too. I woke up later and went to check on the boys. My oldest wasn't in his bed. I called his name and started checking around the house. Every second getting more and more panicked. After checking the whole house I ran outside screaming his name. Then I saw a neighbor walking up the street holding his hand. Apparently, he had gone into her back yard and was playing with her sons toys. She was furious and berated me for being so careless. She walked away screaming at me that I was lucky she wasn't calling CPS. I went in the house and cried for an hour. I felt like the worst mother ever. Now looking back, I'm pissed. Every Mom has a story like that! I'm glad she saw my son and walked him home. But, the way she screamed at me was awful.

its nice of her to find him but extremely frustrating how she got mad at you. you cant change anything once what happened happened and her lecturing you was unnessasary. and i thought she would have had some “mother empathy” anyway, really glad you found him and hope you are doing well and your sons are safe

Jeez, what an awful neighbour. The only charitable thing I can say about her is that she clearly wanted your son to be safe, just like you did. But that behaviour towards you wasn't okay.

I can attest cuz as a child I did the same thing when I was 3. My grandparents used to babysit me and I asked to go outside really quick and that’s when I went to go wander. It’s really easy for a kid that age to get out

Absolutely agree. Cops are actually the ones who determine whether to start a case or not. Thankfully these folks had compassion and understanding. And can see this was clearly an innocent event.
