That child looks like he is prek those teachers aremsupposed to be putting those kids directly on the right bus. Mistakes like that shouldnt happen and I would pissed. 1. Bc my child would be scared to death. 2. Bc i would be scared to death. 3. Bc I trust you with my child and this shouldnt happen.
Thank the teacher who put his address in his clothes. She's a hero too
Whoever drove that bus should have been verifying the kids’ drop off address with those address tags on the kids. It seems like it’s either a case of neglect on job responsibilities or that driver was never told about the address tags.
Thank the teacher and the lady that took the boy back.
I had a stupid friend (not a great mother) and I asked her twice does your kid know your home address and phone number. She of course said no. Her kid is 5. I said you need to put a note in her backpack and laminate it if she ever gets lost. Also drill it into her head what your address is. Has she done this? No. Has done nothing. Everyone needs to do things to ensure safety. The teacher who did the address sticker is smart.
And the sibling that noticed and called mum straight away
@@ricksays7133 that would take so much time tho? It’s just unrealistic
I was out in the street walking my dog when a young boy (about 8 years old) was crying. He got off at the wrong stop. He asked me if I could take him home. So the dog, boy, and I drove to his home, and I waited to make sure he got inside. He had just moved and was confused. It breaks your heart when you see how upset and scared they are. I'm so glad that I was there.

The same thing happened to my son. An angel saw him standing at the bus stop over 10 min and asked him if he was waiting for someone and he said no. He had no clue where he was and thank God this honest lady saw him and called the school. I cry every time I think about it. It’s been over 20 years and I’m still thankful. I never had the opportunity to meet the mom and thank her. ♥️ our children are a blessing.
This kinda happen to my youngest little brother when was in kindergarten. Only he got on the wrong bus coming home. We use to have to one school than another to get the bus coming home. My mom was in panic mode when she saw only me and my other brother. My mom immediately called the school to report that her youngest son didn't come home. My school had immediately took action they reported to ever busses and schools. Finally a different school had reported there was a kid they didn't realize. My school immediately called my mom reporting they had found her son. They also told her what had happened. And that a teacher will bring him home. My mom was so grateful for that teacher driving my little brother home. She just couldn't believe this has happen.
Lucky, she could’ve been a pedo
The sad thing is in this day and age guys (including me) would be very careful in helping. I’d either call the cops or if I didn’t have a phone, may opt not to do anything. Imagine a guy taking a kid and being seen out of context. Not worth the risk.
It was unfortunate (and a little humorous) your post ended with "asked him if he was waiting for someone and he said no. He ha..."I know there was more to read in your comment, but at first, it seemed you were snickering at the lost child.

@@smithamy1982 read the comment above yours about the man's experience goofy
@@smithamy1982 Agreed. This happened to me once when I was shopping.
A little girl lost her mom. She was nervously searching around for her and I was the ONLY one who took notice. Once I started asking her questions and got her talking, THEN the other women in the area started to pay attention. One of them found her mom on the other side of the store. After the two were reunited one of the women said to me that we all must have felt the need to do it because we're mothers. The thing is, I am actually not a mother. The truth is that the majority of them did not notice or care about her walking around for a good three or four minutes alone looking very concerned to the point of near tears. The only reason I took so long to help the girl is because I wasn't sure of what the boundaries were in this country (USA) with respect to strangers approaching children who are in need. In the end, I figured uncovering the source of her panic was probably more important than me breaking social taboos.
The reality was that I was the first one to approach her and ask her if she was lost, not any of the numerous middle aged women (some of whom were undoubtedly mothers). Whether or not she is a mother, the woman in this video did a great job and I hope that she and the boy's family are able to meet up one day.
It's good to know there are people in this world that are thoughtful.

Statistically you'd have to leave your child unattended for 30,000 hours before a predator is likely to kidnap them. Us honking at him and chasing him down prolly freaked him out even more for a brief second before realizing it was his mom and grandma, not abductors.
Werd. I like when he did the little back kick while at the door.
My bus driver would always wait for kids to enter the house before pulling off. I thought it was protocol. I guess he was simply a good person.
My bus stop was no where near my house. There was 20 of us at one stop so the driver never saw anyone get inside. All depends on the area I guess.
@@BeboRulzthat’s how it was for me in high school but usually for smaller kids they will drop them off directly in front of their home
Indeed ....
I guess in big cities it is much different than the small towns I grew up in. Our entire school started and stopped at the same time. So, it was just one bus trip for all the kids. Big cities have so many schools that start at different times so the bus drivers finish one route and go start another. So, they have hundreds of kids to keep track of. I imagine it is easier to lose a kid in that situation.
Thankfully she found him and not some creep. Could've gone bad so fast.
Thing is, if you're a guy that's likely to be assumed to be creep for existing, and you're the one to find the kid in trouble, what now? That's fun, let me tell ya...

There was a case in the UK, in the early 1990's the school girlmade some error but eventually caught another bus to get back. Unfortunately, the next bus was driven by a paedophile who locked her in and she was never seen again. It was a regular city bus, could happen to anyone. As a first grader I’ve taken the wrong bus to school before. I knew I was at the wrong school, just watching students slowly go to their classes as the crowd got smaller and smaller. There was another student there, an asian girl who was obviously older than me asking if u need help, told her I was at the wrong school, took me to the office. Didn’t know my address, home number but thank god a staff that works at my school was there, she was kind enough to drop me off.

I got lost after crashing and getting separated from my parents and friends at a ski resort when I was around 8. Strangers skied down with me to the bottom lift and eventually caught up with my parents. Thankfully there are still plenty of good people in this world.
This reminds me of an incident back in the early 1990s when I was walking out to my car after a visit to a mall.
Some kid (looked like he was about 7 or 8) ran up to me at the parking lot and said, "Mr, I can't find my dad. Please help me."
I was 21 and had no experience dealing with kids but my instinct kicked in.
I immediately told him, "Let's go back into the Mall to tell security."
As we walked back towards the Mall, his dad came out and called his name.
He ran to his dad and I waved at his dad to indicate "OK, you got him now."
That incident scared me because 1) if that kid had approached the wrong guy, he would've been kidnapped!
2) I could've been falsely accused of kidnapping. Luckily, I took him BACK INTO the Mall and not away.
Meanwhile it sounds like the school is trying to evade responsibility.
I feel like so many schools do this (lack accountability)... so frustrating... the worst part is knowing it will happen again if they don’t take this seriously.
It's not the schools fault. The schools job is to get the kids ON the bus, not off it.
@@bremCZ each child remains the school’s responsibility until the child reaches their house safely and securely. if the child does not reach their house, or the right house for that matter, that is the fault of the bus driver, who works for the school.
so therefore, it IS the school’s fault. I certainly hope you never have children that have to ride the bus every day. 😳 imagine the bus driver not doing their job that they get paid for, losing your child, and then someone having the audacity to tell you it’s not the schools’ fault. then who is to blame? the child??
Which is funny because when I got into a fight in high school after we got off of the bus, the school said we are their responsibility from when we get off of the bus until we get home. It seems they use different excuses to suit their narrative.

She didn’t just save a little lost boy. She saved a part of her humanity that she saw in him.
The tears came when I heard her call him baby.... She didn't just see any child she saw her child.

Beautifully said 👏🏾🙏🏾☺️
I bet she’s a mom, cuz most moms look out for each other.
It's likely but I had a similar situation last year. I'm not a mom (yet, but I'm hopeful) but I am an aunt and I helped raise one of my little cousins. I think it's human nature to be protective of children. At least if you are a normal human anyway. I'm just happy this little one made it home safe ❤.
She had "mom" written all over her.
You don't have to be a mom to sympathize.
Good people have empathy for others, and they can imagine what the boy must have felt like to be running so scared...and how the parents must feel knowing their boy is missing. You don't need to be a parent to imagine that.
Empathy is putting yourself in someone else's shoes or at least trying to imagine things from their perspective.
Good people will help a child. In fact, if someone won't help a child...any child...they are not a decent human being.
@@le_th_ True plus some of us are "moms" without having children or not yet. When I was a young woman without children I totally would have reached out to him.
@@le_th_ But she actually was another mom.

Why don't people understand that an example to follow like this person is worth a thousand times more than anything in our universe?
Thats what white ppl do .
This lady drove me to my house after I got off at the wrong train stop at night. I was 28 😅 she was so kind.
😂
That happened to me too in Italy. The train arrived just after the last connection left to cross the border (they said it would be held back but it wasn't) and this lady drove me 50km to Nice in France. The station was full of very dubious people, she was an angel really.
Lmao
@@pigeonlove Nice has nice people. On my second day in Nice, buses were on strike and I got lost walking around after 2 hours. Couldn't find my way back. A kind lady offered me a ride back. She lived on the same street with my youth hostel.

Sounds like something off of some crazy satire sketch comedy show. I'll keep saying it, we are in the twilight zone. 2020 has been repeatedly b- slapping us in the face with that important bit of info lol. But seeing that there are ppl like that good samaritan still here helps alot.👍🏻✌🏻
Also the school: *takes credit for his return home*
I know, it seems like they didn't feel it was an urgent matter. I would think that under these circumstances, a school staff member (or school district staff person) would immediately drive the route of the bus and look for Colton. They seemed so blasé about it, like it was no big deal. (And then tried to make it sound like they helped him!)
But if he were white it’d be a completely different story.
This happened to me when I was a kid, but luckily I didn’t get off the bus. The next day the school assured my mother that they would personally escort me to the correct bus. They put me on the wrong bus again....
That's so terrifying! Thank goodness a good lady found him and returned him home safely ♥
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! Whoever this wonderful individual is, thank you for saving this baby
The way she spoke to the child shows the purity in her character.
Every kind person talk this way to a child
Not to detract from her character, but I've heard abusive people talk like that to people as a way to mask how they truly are, unfortunately.
I think she's a mom too and that's how we'd want someone to treat our children if they were lost
@@sdm1568 What a useless comment, you just had to be a negative Nelly. Life must suck being suspicious of every nice person in case they're just "masking how they truly are"...Classic projection here I think.

@@campkira that's not an excuse. It's not Metro. It's an elementary school bus with kindergarteners and first graders on it. You do not drop small children off in the wrong place alone and leave.
They could at least have given the token 'lessons have been learnt'! There is absolutely no responsibility taken, which gives no assurance this won't happen again.
I got lost on my way home from school when I was in first grade and I’ll never forget all of the people who stopped to help me! A mom with 3 kids under 4 walked me home then a group of middle school girls got me back to my school when the door was locked and I didn’t have a key!
See how a random act of kindness and not judgment changes everything.
This lady is so sweet. Even the way she talked to the kid, she made him feel very comfortable.
She has to be a mom. Great video.
She was so kind.
If the kid was white it would ha e been a different story smh
Aaron Gonzalez why would it be different?
@@aarongonzalez4458 Elaborate please?
The school was proud about how quickly they denied responsibility.
Lmao, exactly what I was thinking 😂
What responsibility are you suggesting they denied that they had?
@@Laudrengen The school is Responsible for you until you make it home this is what I found out you can leave school right and if you get in a fight on your way home you can still get suspended but if you go home and come out your house and get in a fight you won’t get suspended because the school Is no longer responsible for you
They always will you know why? because they don't want to get sued. Schools these days can get sued for a large amount of money. It depends on the situation like child abuse or crazy teachers that do stuff with students. Teachers have been sued before but not the school. The school is always responsible for hiring crazy people that hurt children and yet they don't think its their problem. i know this doesn't have anything to do with this video but its important to know this.
that's what schools do.
The woman probably really was an angel.
Incredible lady. So sweet and nice. Smart teacher.

Exactly!!! There was a kid standing by the door at target the other day...I asked him where’s him mom, he said in the bathroom so I hung out in the dollar spot until she finally came out
When my kids were younger, I told them to find a mom with kids if they ever got lost. It's safer than going to a store employee. And I was pretty sure any mom would open her heart the way this woman did and help.
Yes yes yes! Too many creeps in this world to leave a kid by themselves, even for a second.

Damn right!!!😇
The fact that they put a sticker with his address on him. Is something they need to do at all schools!
True. But at 4 I knew where I lived lol. That's why friends or older siblings come in handy
@Bok Choy exactly, I don't think the teacher should be commended. Albeit, just a word to them that says "don't put their address on their shirt"
It's the responsibility of the parents not the school. Teach kids their phone numbers and addresses if possible. Any other good ideas out there? Wear a bracelet with the info? Sew info on clothing tag?
@@DarqJestor some kids just don't get it until they get older. People have to try to understand that.
@@ewitzniq5408 Agreed, but it's up to the parents to find a solution not the school. If the kid had been kidnapped I'm sure some lawyer would somehow blame it on the teacher for putting his home info on his shirt.

THIS is how society is supposed to work.
The bus company needs a higher level of drivers
The school's response was basically "Yeah, we lost the kid, but at least we answered the phone when you called us. Don't we get any credit for answering the phone?"
Or put simply: Not my child, Not my problem.
Oooop☺... Patrick and Spindly not funny but funny asf...Y'all got me 💀
i mean the kid got off at the wrong stop. what are they supposed to do?
@@bigpeenerpeen Maybe at least have some kind of tracking system in place so they know what stop each kid gets off at each day. These aren't highschoolers who know how to take care of themselves, they're little kids. Bus drivers are supposed to pay attention to make sure kids get off at the correct stop. Obviously the bus driver screwed up and the school is covering for him/her to try and avoid a lawsuit.
@@bigpeenerpeen How hard is it to make sure the right kid gets off at the right stop? It clearly shows the lack of accountability and responsibility of the school's part / bus driver to do due diligence. As adults they need to anticipate for these situations. Have a list of all of the kids riding a specific bus route and their home addresses. Check off each kid as they get off.

That's an extremely shitty assumption.
You don't have to be a mother to be a decent human being, what a dumb comment
I can’t imagine why people are triggered by someone assuming a grown woman is a mama. Even if she’s not it’s not an insult lol 😂 the internet is strange
I thought the same probably a mother
Why are people so triggered. You can tell just by the way she talks to him you can tell she's a mom or works with kids
My mom once swore she heard a child crying one day when we lived in an apartment complex. I didn't hear a thing but she soon vanished, only to return like half an hour later saying there had been a little boy nearby crying cause he accidentally got dropped off at the wrong part of the complex and was lost. She took him to the front building and waited with him until his dad was contacted and got him. From that day I was convinced parents have super-senses or something when it comes to kids.
I definitely believe that you're right. It's like Primal Instinct just kicks in
I agree I'm a Mum & I can be in the deepest sleep but as soon as one of our children wakes up crying from a bad dream I'm awake. So glad this story has a happy ending as so many things could have gone wrong but thankfully we do have some sweet angels on our planet who will help ❤️
This is why my daughter moved from her bassinet to a crib at 6 weeks. I woke up every time she even sighed. She was sleeping six hours a night, but I was lucky to get two. Her nursery was right next to our room, so I still heard if she fussed.

Any normal person would do this.
Definitely not just a mom thing tho. Anyone with compassion would do this.
Its every adults duty to look after a child in distress.
Sorry but I have to disagree. Most people don’t want anyone else outside of their “normal” circle looking after their kids. (school employees, daycare employees, first responders, family)
@@sherbaum1985 Being in distress has some pretty varying levels of severity....So you're saying someone is perhaps assaulting a child or they are lost crying in a public area with nobody to help them you just ignore them for the sake of making the parents comfortable? The school statement is outrageous. They don't even apologize. They just told the parents to call somewhere else and considered it done WHAT
@@veronicawo3033 I would argue that expecting a bus driver to remember the faces and names of hundreds of children that get on and off of the bus everyday is a little bit unrealistic. This is the parent's fault for not explaining properly to the child where to get off the bus at.
When my son was 4 yr. old my family was shopping in a "box" store and realized he was not with us. Thank God a store clerk found him and announced on the speaker.system where we could come to get him! I was always so grateful for this Samaritan who took care of my son! Since then, I have been able to help a few little ones myself! Three times when shopping in "box" stores again, I came across young children panicking when they were separated from their parents. I told each one that his mother would come back for him, but that I would wait there with him until his mother arrived. The relief on these little ones' faces was priceless to me! And, of course the mothers always backtracked and found us.

Yes, BUT shouldn’t we expect this behavior from all adults?
Also realize that people live up (or down) to expectations.
@Brayden Dempsey - Thank you for your thoughtful comment.
I do agree we need to show appreciation for those who do good. It not only reinforces their behavior, but holds it up as a standard for others to live up to. Good triumphs through an endless line of small steps.
I find it sad this woman’s actions are deserving of being singled out - which in no way detracts from my appreciation of her. Instead it magnifies her importance not only for what she did for this child and his family, but for what her example does for society at large.
As for Africa, I think you may be oversimplifying AND underestimating scale. We could be doing more, but also important to recognize all that we are already doing. Positive reinforcement of good behavior tends to be more effective than criticism or punishment.
Oh come on. Any normal person would do that. Your acting like it’s surprising.
@@billthebutcher1780 - Majority of us who are “normal” were raised by normal parents and surrounded mostly by normal neighbors. I find it sad that this behavior needs to be called out, but that does not detract from the “goodness” of her behavior.
This woman is probably a mother herself and she saw her own child in little Colton and sprung into action. A REAL mother is going to be a mother regardless to who the child belongs to.

If you have children or desire to have children....... observe how your intended life partner interacts with and speaks about children. It will tell you what you need to know. 🌺💗

This stranger best epitomises the phrase, “it takes a village.”
Unfortunately this is a common occurrence. Happened to my neighbor a few houses down from me. Luckily since most people know each other here, a neighbor walked him back to our street, but the initial panic when the bus came and her kid was missing was terrifying.

Absolutely! Stories like this just remind people to be more aware of things that are out of place, because it could save someone's life!
Good point. A truly virtuous act is one without the want of recognition. You do something because it's right, not to get lifted up.
I think the mother just wants the opportunity to thank the woman face to face (while keeping social distance, obviously), over the phone or however, but she just wants to say it to her personally.
