The longest missing child case in US history, solved by the missing child himself.

Good he did though. Now when his mother made it so hard for the police to find him. That was mean of her. 😕
To be fair, he went missing in the 70s, there was no internet at that time that has databases which makes things easier. Still don’t get why his first thought was to go on a site for missing children. Glad he did and that he’s found his dad.
Listen to the video again. So many reasons! It wasn't his first thought. The fact that his birth certificate was created a year after his birth, he was 4 years old when adopted, he was told he is half Native Hawaiian, but looks Euro, so he already knew his case was odd. Then, he saw a news story about a woman who found herself by looking on Missing Children websites, and the possibility of accurate age-progression images sparked him, made him consider the possibility.
@ Sophie Gregory
His mother I believe did " a runner" no warning, no reason, no note, but rather self serving. Father went to work returned home & both were gone The plan was to disappear, hence all the double dates of birth & skullduggery, anything to prevent the father accessing the infant despite desperately searching & the police being informed. Information gleaned later added to the story pre- adoption, this I found on another website ( short & sweet)

It seems like she made sure he didn’t get back to the father. She changed the “race of the father”, which made it so they’d never link him to the father.
I’m afraid that she probably had severe post partum, or the father had issues. (Which, he could have changed after losing his son for 30 years.)
She had changed his birthday, name and race of father so they couldn’t piece together who the dad was.

There's so many extra layers to this. Was she released from the psych ward? Assumedly so, but wouldn't there be records of her being released? Were there and they just didn't mention it? And how was she admitted to the psych ward without them identifying her as the woman who kidnapped her son, and thus identifying him rather than putting him up for adoption. It's like even beyond the original mystery of the missing child being solved, there are even more mysteries.
Yeah appearently no one cares that something horrible most likely happened.. We're just accepting the premise that she was crazy are we...?!?! A costody case from the 70s... Wow, 2 birthdays!! Do you get to keep them both? Well, either way I am overjoyed for you that you solved the mystery of your past. That must be pretty exciting for you. I hope however it goes, it goes well. I'll be putting in a prayer for that and for you.
With all the bad news we all hear every day, I'm glad to hear a bit of good news happened to somebody and that somebody is you, my friend. I wish you well and again I'm super happy for you!

@@noir5124 Hi, wow. Well, I’m much older now. Enjoy your young life!
He sure looks like his father.
yeah minus the years of heavy drugs
He do
He could just be old
This man's mental fortitude is pretty admirable honestly.
That poor bio father, what a sad situation
Good to know these age progression photos actually work, iv always wondered.
How sad that at that time the social workers for that orphanage did not bother looking for a father that was missing his son. They just obviously wrote it off as his mother abandoning him. I'm happy he got good parents though.
macky macky I believe you. This could have been so easily resolved.
macky macky I agree. And the depth of this is so sickening. I totally believe what you're saying 😥
macky macky Why do you get off making up nonsense to make parents of missing children feel worse?
macky macky
pizzagate isn't real ad gives real victems of child abuse a bad name.
is social services crap? yes. but pizzagate wasn't real.
His mother was lying about his dad being some Hawaiian guy...why would they think about looking for some white guy.
Who waits three weeks to report their missing child?
I’m so glad his father is still alive.
