    • @SmokyRibsBBQ

I talked about it in the video. Carbon will require more maintenance to prevent from rusting, similar to the way you protect cast iron from rusting. Stainless is maintenance free, but has a higher price tag as well. They will both do a great job.

Mmmmm, my biggest problem with char broiling oysters is I usually eat them as I shuck them, lol.
They looked great, you can shred a little cheese on them just before you pull them from the fire and add a new dimension to the taste .

Yeah it’s hard to resist just eating them raw right out of the shell

It's pretty much the same you just need to load the oysters quickly so you don't have half of them done before you finish loading the others

@@SmokyRibsBBQ nice, that's what I'm ordering this month. Now that you have had it awhile, carbon steel vs stainless, what way would you prefer on the different grill components? And what do you think about the new built in audio system? ( ok,just joking about the audio system, heck this grill has so many options I thought I'd throw that in just for laughs 😅) Anyways, thanks for your input. Have a great day. 👍😃🍻🌤

@@victorbenner539 I would have loved to had the maintenance free stainless grates, but in all honesty, the carbon steel grates are doing great. I have to leave my SM grill outside in the weather, and there is absolutely no rust on the carbon steel grates. I seasoned them well to begin with, and occasionally just hit them with more cooking spray. I'm very impressed actually.

@@SmokyRibsBBQ thanks for your reply. I live in Washington state and mine will be outside all year long also although always under a roof in my bbq area. We get most of our humidity in the cool months ,it was 98% humidity last night but I agree cooking spray goes a long way. I actually spray the outside of my offset instead of painting it. No rust. Anyway thanks for the information. Again, have a great day 🌤.

@@SmokyRibsBBQ I believe this is the only video of a 60". Everyone else has the 48". Do you happen to have another "in depth" video of your 60", by chance? Is the locking mechanism a sprocket lock, or is it an internal locking mechanism? I ask because I was concerned about the weight of the 60" with in an internal locking mechanism. I'm a fan of the sprocket lock. It doesn't weaken over time.

@@Mike-fb4rl I have a Santa Maria playlist. Some or of the earlier model before the newer grates came out, and other of the newer one I got last year. There is one that is not a LSG that belongs to a buddy of mine, and the most recent is of a 48" that belongs to my buddy Jeff Rice from Dead Broke BBQ. It's a sprocket lock and rock solid.
