    Empire Ants is peak music. There’s something so magical about the way that it makes me feel and I can’t quite describe it. This song should be in the history books, it’s just so euphoric

  • @masonstillmatic
    @masonstillmatic Год назад +6

    Albarn’s opus and a conceptual masterwork. The subject matter, the crafting of the world, the production. Superfast into Empire is a stroke of absolute genius. The hopelessness of the subject matter, while you’re caressed by the beauty of the sound invokes the exact feeling it’s aiming to produce via the words and turns it into a feeling. Unapologetically pulls you into acknowledging the reality of the world.
    Album is incredibly cinematic too, so easy to picture the Gorillaz washing up on plastic beach, defeated and withdrawn. Making use of the technology of the island to create songs to express those feelings. Rhinestone, Superfast, Empire, Melancholy Hill, Nature, Sweepstakes. The conceptual through-line of this album is almost unparalleled.

    The beginning half of Empire Ants is that feeling where you realized that your wasting your childhood, teenage, twenties, and you need to try something to get up and off your bed. Then the end half is how you opened your eyes to the world that you see. You can make friends, go on some adventures, get a partner, and you can end those years with a remake classic scene from the perks of being an wallflower.
