This was a really good album. I think fans have incredibly high expectations of Gorillaz for good reason but this and Song Machine are top tier Gorillaz.
Those were my favourites tracks too! And I also liked cracker island and Possession island a lot. This album is definitely not as bad as people are saying
Would love to see you guys react to Un Verano Sin Ti by Bad bunny that album is full of different genres from the Caribbean! Love you guys and sending lots of love and admiration to the both of you from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷
Yesss! Would be cool if they had translations on hand too. They’ll miss out on the clever wordplays and the “Bad Bunny PR” spanish but at least they’d have a rough idea of what the lyrics are.
I don't care what people say, this is a great album. I'm aware this isn't their most inventive album, however listenable music is right up my alley. 🙌 edit 2: I'm gonna double down, The Now Now is a top tier album.
I felt mixed when I first heard the album, but have grown to appreciate it more. Definitely not my favorite (Demon Days reigns supreme) but still enjoyable. Baby Queen, Skinny Ape and New Gold are my favorites. Great video as usual you two!
I wish you did the deluxe version of the album, some of the songs in there are better than the ones in the regular version. Also has the best song in the whole thing, Controllah.
I love this channel 1:40 - Cracker Island 4:33 - Oil ft Stevie Nicks 7:17 - The Tired Influencer 9:00 - Silent Running with adele 12:36 - New Gold ft some people 14:55 - Baby Queen 17:44 - Tarantula 20:11 - Tormenta with a bunny 22:21 - Skinny Ape 25:23 - Possession Island with Beck
As much as I love Tame Impala and New Gold, my favorite songs out the album are Silent Running and Baby Queen. They just have these nostalgic, emotional melodies that haunt my mind for hours after hearing them. They're amazing!
I was actually shocked to find out people didn't like this album that much. Maybe it's because I'm a really new fan, I started listening to gorillaz about same time this album was released, but I personally like this album almost better than any of their other albums. Do people think is too "pop" to be the gorillaz they know? I find nothing mainstream about this album, I think the songs are just less experimental and more easy to listen to, hence why I liked them so much. I still have to say that none of these songs on the album can top Feel good inc, El mañana, Dare and Tranz which are probably my favourite songs by them. Silent running comes close though
That’s true it’s an awesome album, but you’re right that many people don’t like it because it’s more like pop and very different from the other albums. But what I love about them is that all their albums have a completely different theme! Their self-titled album Gorillaz feels more retro, Demon Days is like apocalyptic, Plastic Beach rather slow and sad with high emotions (probably my favorite album but it’s hard to rank it over Demon Days because they’re just so different), Humanz with more like electric tracks (that was also when the members working on Gorillaz started changing after a 7 year-long break, The Now Now with a kind of hypnotic and dreamy feel and more slowly, Song Machine with a fresh and newer feel, but it doesn’t really has an overall theme because the Songs are more like Singles and lastly Cracker Island with a more pop feel, but not in a bad way like with most songs on the radio. It makes sense that many Gorillaz fans don’t like the new pop feel because their new songs will never be like their old, but although it’s rather low on my list of the Gorillaz albums, it’s still an awesome album. I’ve also not known them for too long btw. Like 4 to 5 years and I also only have recently gotten into them and new only like their most known songs before. But Demon Days and Plastic Beach are just SO AWESOME! But all the other albums are awesome as well. I know I’ve been saying awesome the whole time but I just can’t give them a lower wird than awesome. They have like over 175 tracks and nearly all of them are good in my eyes.
@@JimmyTheTurtle-hz3kq yes!! I really like both of them, I've been listening to Rhinestone eyes a lot more, it has grown to be one of my favourites too 😊
