Bought a Tisas Tank Commander .45 a couple of months ago, finally took it to an indoor range. I put a laser bore sight round in the chamber to compare point of impact versus aim point, and made a note (aim slightly high and to the left). Shot silhouette targets at 7 yards, 25 rounds at each target. First 25 was to get a feel for the sights, recoil, check for malfunctions, etc. Had the errant stray round in the 9 ring, but most of the first group was in the 10 ring or X. Second group of 25 everything was in the X or 10 ring, no malfunctions. Right out of the box it fired well, hit what I was aiming at (more or less), and feel confident using this as a home defense weapon. Not practical as an EDC due to limited number of rounds in the mags, but well worth what I paid for it ($370 at Palmetto State Armory).
No insult or disrespect intended but I am really curious why so many people don't believe that 6 or 7 rounds is enough for self defense carry? If you really have to ever use one, one hit should be enough, and you will be in deep crap if you use more rounds for a real self defense need by the law. They already try to put you in prison for shooting someone once even when it is necessary.
@@t.k.morris I used to conceal carry a compact .45, I think the mags held 7 rounds each, and I would carry two extra mags. The compact 9mm I carry now has a 13-round mag in it, and I carry two extra mags that hold 17 rounds each. I'd rather have the extra ammo and take a few extra shots, especially when under stress. Go to the range, fire 3 rounds in ten seconds. Do 20 jumping jacks or mountain climbers, your choice, then fire 3 rounds in 5 seconds at a different target. Compare the results, and you'll see my reasoning about switching from a 7-round .45 to a 13-round 9mm. My Tisas 1911 is not a compact, so I never considered it as a conceal carry.

I looked at one of the Raider model today. For $600 it's not bad assuming it runs semi reliable since it's a range toy for me. It just felt small in the hand. I guess I'm used to the CZ SP 01 I generally use as a daily carry gun.
CZ has always been a favorite of mine, but using a SP 01 as an EDC means you will cry in a defensive shoot. True the 7-8 you carry might not be enough, I am guessing g the Titas is 9mm might be 10-13, but you would lo$e considerably less money than you would with an SP 01
You can get a basic bitch “Stakeout” model for like 400 bucks, update the slide stop and get a +1lb recoil spring and it will run. I heard some of the firing pin blocks are prone to crack, but if you work the hammer spring (empty gun of course) it probably wont crack.

Great gun to CC and best news is the gun is so cheap if you have to use it you aren't losing a $5k pistol probably forever.

Can't wait for Tisas to come out with threaded models for their 1911 line.
@@Rubeless Out-of-the box suppressor capability is great. "Drop-in" 1911 barrels aren't really drop-in, and I am certain Tisas would make an excellently crafted and functional factory-threaded 1911.
For what?
"Here at Tisas, we've upped our standards. So up yours." Actually, that Night Stalker looks ill.
"Up yours" 😂
I have the GI type 1911a1 with the US property markings. Its damn near an exact replica, unlike the first two incarnations of the GI pistol. Nothing else on the market is a closer clone.
My friend got a early 2020s era Army 1911a1. It was a ⚓️. Broke 2x even before it could field strip! 😔
@@DavidLLambertmobile sucks to hear that. I think a lot of other people had similar situations. It seems that they've made big changes in the last couple of years.
@@DavidLLambertmobile Davey and his "friends"...
I just got the .45 b45 5”. Although I have swapped out a few things like mainspring housing, recoil spring, guide rod, sear spring, magwell, trigger etc etc. it was a solid, quality piece right out of the box. I’m glad I made this purchase
This is one of the cool things about the 1911 clones. Like the Ruger 10/22 and the ARs, You can start out with a reliable, well functioning gun at an acceptible price and then add on features you prefer as time goes by. To me, it makes no sense to spend thousands of dollars, lump sum. for a "Custom" 1911 or an inflated AR when you can make these guns into whaatever you want.
I have the 45 acp and the 10 mm both pistols perform excellent at the range. Yes there is a breakin period first. Then they eat everything everything that is put through them no problems.👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
"Yes there is a break-in period".
Thank you. None of these other "experts" seem to grasp that.
I now own two and will probably buy more Tisas 1911s. They're fantastic, not just for the price, but actually very competitive in fit and finish and quality of machining with guns costing three times as much.
I’m digging the raider. Might sell an unused rifle for one.
Might check those dudes out. Id like a 9mm 1911 but never really had a use for one
I have really been looking at these. The reviews I see on them are really good.
Not a 1911 guy, but that Night Raider does look pretty rad.
You can get a basic bitch “Stakeout” model for like 400 bucks, update the slide stop and get a +1lb recoil spring and it will run. I heard some of the firing pin blocks are prone to crack, but if you work the hammer spring (empty gun of course) it probably wont crack.
@@macriggland6526Bad firing pin retainers aren't the biggest deal breaker. Rather easy to replace with a quality unit from Wilson Combat or elsewhere.
I'd be leery. I saw a NIB Army 1911a1 .45 model, 2021. It was total 💩. Poorly made, poor fit-finish. Broke 2x prior to cleaning.
@@DavidLLambertmobileas of 2022 they're all forged parts.
@@macriggland6526 You HEARD? I'm sure I can rely on that...
Tisas makes very good 1911s for the price. I’m on my second one now. If they release one with a red dot mount and rail I’ll buy it the day it hits the shelves (money allowed). Fishing here in hopes tisas sees this
Oh and by red dot mount I’m talking 507k cut
Did you fail to notice the rails on the guns in the video?I counted at least two.
@@fastbullet7301 since you are being smart, did you see the words “with a red dot mount AND rail”
@@fastbullet7301 did you fail to notice “one with a red dot mount AND rail”. If the word “and” was the word “or” you would have a point
Always liked the 1911. Over the years the pistol has only gotten better. My biggest dig on 9mm variants is why they did not slim down the frame for the 9mm?
It's kind of what they did for the Star since it seems the frame is narrower than the .45.
Great gun to CC and best news is the gun is so cheap if you have to use it you aren't losing a $5k pistol probably forever.
I don't typically buy things from guys that just got a manicure earlier that morning
@@Rubeless Maybe he likes 💅👗👠
As long as he's not in our face about it, I don't care.
I was about buy a Springfield 1911 for carry until I saw these now I’m tempted to pick one of these up.
Send that cash to Turkey
@@gncc600 What's your point? You prefer sending it to the Phillipines? Maybe China or Viet Nam?
@@fastbullet7301 Mine are all made here Karen.
I have a Tristar 12 gauge semiautomatic (made in Turkey) and a Beretta 12 gauge semiautomatic- As far as performance goes, I can’t find a single difference!!!!! The Tristar is flawless, shoots just as well as my Beretta. And cost me about 1/2 as much or more.
Love my Raider threw some m45A1 grips on it ...one hell of a clone tell you that...Foolen them in masses..😅😅
At least homeboys nails are clean
There much be a metric ton of Vietnamese salon owners in this chat from all the talk about nails 😂. Can y'all focus even a bit. Dang 💅💀
Aviator 45 and nightstalker 10mm look cool if they work
I love 1911's and a bit of a 1911 snob. I really like the Tisas guns. They just run out of the box.
What do you think of getting a 1911 specifically tisas 1911 b45 or sds devil ray carry as first hand gun ever? I've been looking at 1911s and have always loved the look of them but just curious as to if it's an okay first gun?
Yall should do a review of the Tisas Stingray 9mm
head up if you want a full guide rod the tisas does not use a standard spring you have to get one from wolff spring to properly fit the full guide rod
I like that Night Stalker, but i'd rather see it with G10 grips. The aluminum looks slick.
I picked up the 9mm 1911 from Tisas and its spectacular for the money. Very happy with mines and I've managed to get a threaded barrel for it so I can shoot it suppressed. For the price I paid from PSA, I am happy with it.
Really like the looks of these! May have to give these a serious consideration! Fire!
The two-toned Aviator 1911 should have had a beavertail. As usual, really good 1911 pistols (and a very good review, too!).
I like the looks the way it is. It's basically an aluminum framed Tank Commander.
A "very good interview"? Then why didn't he call the Aviator hammer a "Commander" hammer instead of improperly calling it a "Spur"?
This entire interview was half ass amatuer hour crap..
My buddy shot some of these Sunday and said there were pretty decent
Another great video!!!
Everyone says good things about Tisas 1911s. I put down some money for an Aviator myself.
Owned one but prefer Girsan or RIA IN THAT price range
Like I said above, Opinions are like assholes- everybody has at least one. The thing about opinions is, few people can articulate a reason for theirs.
I'm not going to try to tell you how to spend your money, but I also don't give a shit about your preference. I doubt I'm alone in that regard.
I have two tisas 1911s and zero complaints. Especially for the price!
That dude's nails are fabulous 😂!!! My girl is jelli.
A blued or nitrided retro WW1 style would be cool.
Cimmaron had one but unfortunately I believe they dropped it.
I have the SDS Px9 gen 3 and. Holy. Shit
Its incredible. 20 round mags, striker fired. 2k rpunds zero malfunctions and sexy as hell to the eye. Tisas legit
bought a tisas on friday and very excited to shoot it
Great interview and product.
If this was such a great review, why did it not mention which of these guns have anbi safeties?
Why did it not mention which ones have a rail option?
why did it not mention which ones have front strap checkering?
Why did it not mention series 70 versus series 80?
Or how many magazines come with each model?
I wish the raider had front strap and MSH checkering. I'd buy one TUHDAY.
If they machined the feed ramp angle correctly, it would be nice. Other than that the duty 45 i bought is decent for the price.
James your the man love your shows and your interview style..seems you get all my questions answered for me with some Humour as well.. I will look for you guys Shot Show 2024 shake hands..👍👍
I have my eye on the Night Stalker in 10mm. Felt and looked amazing when I held it at the gun store yesterday.
I bought one of the Night Stalker 10mms this weekend and it is SWEET.
I would love some modernizing on the Tisas Fatih
you and me are both waiting I saw a shot show video that said they would be bringing out a 380 in the style of the beretta 84 were both still waiting
@@bernardconeghen I saw where Girsan was bringing out some new models, ones a Beretta 84 clone(-ish) and the other is modeled on what I think is a Browning BDA 380 (which was itself strongly based on the 84)
TIsas handling of Raider recall was admirable.
I picked up the raider and the US Army a couple of months ago,
What's your point?
Great guns I do own the 45 a1 and I love it. I put it close to my Springfield 45 1911 as a very good contender... But this guy's nails. I can't stop looking at those! LoL
I suppose it's a good thing he doesn't show more than his nails, eh? 😍
Spent less than $650 for two of their 1911’s.
Great guns.
Just got the Service model. I'm stoked.
I'll take a nightstalker in the best millimeter
8.6×70 mm?
Got a stainless one, black grips, absolutely perfect for my Rip Riley costume, just add a spoon in the eye.
How does the Night Stalker compare to the Raider other then looks? Is it built the same ?

Tisas just put out a safety recall on several 1911s including the Raider.
Well. guess what. Boeing Aircraft has not issued a recall or a safety warning. Does that make Boeing a better, more trustworthy company?
Do any of the 1911 clones offer the .38 Super ACP?
