Also, Whataburger is not as good as they used to be, now that a giant Chicago investment firm now owns the TX chain. In-N-Out is still family owned, and the food is 100% fresh. I can get in-N- out throughout the southwestern US, including TX, but Whataburger's westward reach stops at Kingman, AZ. (Three other regional burger chains worth eating at: The Habit, Culver's, and Braums.)
As a Texan at WB I get the BBQ chicken most of the time. Everytime I've been to In n out it was out of Texas and it was on par with any burger joint. The last time I got in n out I got a 4×4 and the fact that i can do that makes me like it. At WB or bk it costs alot to get four patties and four cheese
If the burger is better you can throw it at me while you drive by in a car for all I care. Tableside service does not factor in to which burger is better.
When I was in the Midwest aside from the weather, which is insane ( one minute it could be a clear 80° and suddenly there's an ice storm and shortly after a tornado warning), the 2nd strangest thing was at most burger joints they always asked mayo or mustard and when I replied both plus ketchup they all gave me the same look.
George is the man. And I appreciate the way he talks about Whataburger, he's spot on. It's a Texas institution and we take pride in it but it's a very different style of burger compared to what In-N-Out offers so I never really understood the comparison to be honest. Whataburger rules but for different reasons than In-N-Out does, they're both outstanding fast food options.
In-N-Out's fries are atrocious. I've been told that you have to order them "animal style" for them to taste good, but with Whataburger's friens you don't need to add stuff to the fries. Can't have the burger without fries.
Whataburger does not freeze its meat ever, it even says it on their website. I do like In & Out but the variety and better fries, shakes and chicken is miles ahead of in & out. Oh and the spicy ketchup, whataburger wins everytime
whataburger doesnt freeze their meat. comparing the 2 is hard, if i want something fast and light of decent quality its in n out, but if i want a good meal its whataburger
Um no, just no. White Castle is 5 yr. boys microwaveable food. The Habit, I've tried many times, and just can't get into their burgers or fries. The only thing I like about The Habit, are it's chicken sandwiches and fried breaded green beans. But for burgers In-N-Out all the way. Also bacon is a breakfast food and only a breakfast food. Your heart will thank you for it later.
European butcher here. last time i was in the states was in 2018 where i eat at In-N-Out in LA. that is basically it. hads burgers at a few other local places in LA and they where all much better.
@@michaeltschuertz In-n-Out is a cult and god help you if you don’t fall in line. You’ll be looked at like you’re insane. There are other burgers I like much more. They cost more but they’re better and I’m willing to pay a few dollars more. If taste matters to you, cost shouldn’t enter into it. Especially for a sandwich that costs $10 or less.
@@michaeltschuertz the ones I like better are also chains. one throughout the country, one more local to the east coast (as far as I know). Neither has a drive-thru, so they’re definitely a step up. In California I like Tommy’s as much as InO. One place I want to go if I ever get back out there is the Apple Pan.
I recently had whataburger and I don’t understand the hype behind it. It’s pretty much texas own McDonald’s with bigger burgers. Even their fries are very similar to McDonald’s. Their best thing they have to offer is the spicy ketchup. In n out wins by a long shot! Everything on their burger is fresh, their pink lemonade is great and their fries are fresh! You can get a double double meal for less than $10 which you can’t even get a burger meal under $10 in a lot of burger chains, including whataburger
They both are a bit overrated. I can think of several other regional chains that make just as good of burgers, yet their own thing. I believe these two are often compared because of the ridiculous "CA vs TX" thing.
As someone who has lived in both Texas and California, I can say............................................................................................. there's no contest it's obviously In N Out. Quality, price, consistency, taste, In N Out wins hands down.
George Motz knows his stuff - he chose right!
I’ve worked at whataburger and it’s never frozen 🥶

That's a hard question. To me, they're so different, and both are so damn good. But George Motz has spoken!
When the Burger Scholar speaks, you listen!

Been to Whataburger once, in Austin TX and was impressed by the tableside service that In-N-Out didn't have
table side service of a frozen ass patty is what you get...
@@jollyjohn2751 the burgers are not frozen and don't come on Texas Toast.
They are frozen and the Texas toast comes with the patty melt
If the burger is better you can throw it at me while you drive by in a car for all I care. Tableside service does not factor in to which burger is better.
What burger is Austin is switched to digital kitchens, no one is there to take you order and there are no tables to have srveice

I&O’s fries suck balls. Best thing ai had there was their milkshake. That was awesome.
whataburger doesnt freeze their meat. comparing the 2 is hard, if i want something fast and light of decent quality its in n out, but if i want a good meal its whataburger
There was a Whataburger that opened where I'm from in Clearwater, Florida and that b**** closed down in less than 2 months
Thank you for the info!
As a Californian neither, I prefer Frosty King or Firestone
Whatacheapburger has nothing on the GOAT of fast food 🍔’s In N Out!!!
Whataburger is on par with Wendy’s, not In & Out
At least Whataburger has much better fries and don't require you to drench them in 1000 island dressing.
No In and Out in Washington ... sadly
George is awesome!
Thanks for the video
He is the best!
This is a prize fight and as a promoter, he has to talk up the challenger or no one will buy the fight. Cuz Tyson gonna punch you in the mouth.
White Castle and the Habit spanks them both. Had In N Out and it was greasy. No Bacon option was a big negative.
Um no, just no.

Love George but Whataburger patty's are fresh never frozen. And yes Texas Toast! Get the Patty Melt!!!
no they are not, they are defrosted. i used to work there.
whataburger shouldn’t even be part of the conversation lol as he alludes to, it’s marginally better than mcdonald’s burgers.
Now this is a hot take
Apparently RUclips recommends anything with George Motz to me.
He’s right though. Both chains do their own thing, but In & Out is superior.
He gives a very balanced argument.
disrespectful comparison
If you wanna run a burger chain here and you don't offer bacon or jalapenos at all, just remember we're also well armed.
My hambutger is better or tommys burgers in calforn8a best or pinks
Thank.you
Tommy’s with chili is pretty great.
RE Tommy's Burgers: Not impressed, w/chili, or not. I will not buy again.
Hahaaaaa see, I told ya
The judge has spoken. The debate is over.
Burger scholar, try getting a job 😂
I think they’re both overrated as hell. Are they better than McD/BK/Wendy’s? For sure…but the cult status of these places is ridiculous

The standard Whataburger includes raw onion and unmelted cheese, which is a big negative. In-N-Out without question.

Surprising. I haven’t had Whataburger, but I thought In n Out was overrated when I had it.

That blew my mind. Love Motz and burgers. Hate In-N-Out passionately. Rather eat my shoe after walking through my chicken run.
it is a chain. that is all, any local place will be better.

Carls jr best or papas burgers delisous
Yes, Carl's Jr is one of my favorites. (That's Hardee's, for those in the eastern half of the US.)
