    FAQ:
    1. Should I add a preservative to my Hair Butter?
✨Answer: You can, but it is not necessary. (especially for personal use)
Reason: Avoid putting wet hands into the jar. Use a wooden spoon. Once water is introduced to the product, it is contaminated and will grow bacteria, mold, etc. If you can avoid water getting into the product, then you are safe and do not need a preservative. This Hair butter will last as long as the shelf life of your ingredients. When it comes to oils and butters, the shelf life is usually 12 months or more.

FOR A LITTLE MORE COLOR...YOU CAN USE A ROSE GOLD MICA POWDER WITH A TINY BIT OF VEGAN FOOD COLORING (LIKE A TINY BIT OF DRIED RED BEET POWDER)
I USE DRIED RED BEET POWDER FOR MY MADE FROM SCRATCH RED VELVET CAKES. I ALSO DEHYDRAYE RED BEETS AND GOLDEN BEETS AND GRIND THEM INTO A POWDER
      WORKS LIKE A CHARM💕
      LOVE YOU. MS. YAYA !

You must steep for 48 hours amd use more. The leaves will Give you the color without the granuals being part of your butter. Lots of leaves will give very deep color. The herbal properties are amazing.

If you want a truly vibrant and not cloudy ruby colored oil, alkanet root works beautifully. You don’t need to grind it, it will infuse very well just as chunks. You can heat it, or just put it in a jar for a few hours. I don’t know if you’ll get a deep red simply because the butter adds so much white, but it’s definitely more vibrant than the hibiscus.

Thank you for the suggestion! I have beet root powder, so I will give it a try. The problem is, most herbs are water-soluble. This means you cannot extract the color with oil, only water. It’s difficult to naturally color body butters without water and mica. 😊💜

That’s funny. I was just researching poppy seed oil these past two weeks. I thought about it when I made a poppyseed cake. There are so many yummy oils out there people do not talk about. Butterfly pea for blue or purple? That might turn when whipped as well. I would love varied DIYs. Bring it on.

Hello Yaya. Nice work well done. So Hibiscus tend to change color has it oxidises. So you may not get the color you want from Hibiscus, just like the Hibiscus drink, when you pour it on a sheet, it changes color after a while. You can try Emu or sea buckthorn oil, though not a red color, but you would get a nice color from these oils.
Good luck in your search 👍 😊

I'd like to see more thing's that actually benefit your skin, and increases collagen productions. Night time serums, and creams. Leave in hair conditioners, and detanglers. Shampoo, and conditioner bars. Anything, but body butters! I will watch regardless, but I'm done with beginner diy's.
