Try soaking the hibiscus leaves (green) soak in water, then crush the leaves up in the water, will form a shampoo. We used to wash our hair with the hibiscus leaves, in St. Lucia. We use the dried red flower to make cold beverage cold sorrel.
I will definitely try it! We also use the dried red flower for cold beverages, we also use it in our henna that we design our hands and feet with, we take showers with it and much more… it’s a versatile flower, but I have never used the leaves as shampoo. Thank you
@@diybyyusrah9891 yes, we boil the dried flower. With ginger. Some sugar and other spice and refrigerate to make a cold beverage called sorrel, probably the same with as yours just a different name. Being in the US it's hard to find the leaves to make it myself...
I can't wait to try this. My hair is hip length but started thinning and found out hibiscus is perfect and I want leave in conditioner as well. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for the recipe, I made it today, well over 2 days as I changed a few things, I used a hibiscus tea as I don't have leaves and I also steeped fenugreek seeds in the tea, I added kokum butter. So far so good, even works in my son's fine hair that's always tangled. Again I appreciate the recipe
You can add a food grade preservative for longer shelf life. Anytime water is added, a preservative is best to use so it doesn’t get moldy. Great video 🙏🏽😘🥰🌹
Hi dear. Thanks for the video. It was explicit. I just some questions if you don't mind, what is the shelf life of the cream ? Also, how did it feel on your hair? Did it dry out easily?
@@diybyyusrah9891 by any chance what is the best and safest preservative to use for leave in conditioner, and wash out conditioners and also for shampoos?
Hello, really lovely video! I was wondering if could I use rose petals in addition to the hibiscus, making a "hibiscus and rose" leave-in conditioner? Or alternatively, could I use rose petals alone? If so, do you know if it would produce the same rosey colour?
I nothing stops you from modifying this recipe if you want to, i have not used rose petals myself so I wouldn’t know if it could contribute to the color, but pls try it and let us know how it goes. ❤️
@obadanmary! Sterilization isn’t the determining factor in your product forming mold. You need to use a preventative Queen. In doing so, your product will last up to a year or more sitting on your dresser or wherever. And please do not let anyone tell you that Vitamin E is a preservative, because it’s not. 🌹 Amazon sells the different preservatives love. 🙏🏽🥰🌹😘
This is beautiful! I keep trying to make a leave in but everytime it comes out watery ..I'm trying to make a 16 oz batch ...I don't know what I'm doing wrong.. please help.. thanks...
Your formulations will always reflect the percentage of ingredients you use, just increased the percentage of your thickeners and emulsifier and decrease the percentage of your liquids especially water and I’m sure you will get the thickness you desire. So just play with your formula. Good luck ❤️
Good question. Yes it does oxidize with time so the color changes, that’s why i will advice you to make small batches and use extra uv protection like antioxidants (vitamin e) and use uv protected containers
Hi @Signrmsifnics and creator! I’d suggest using a food grade preservative for longer shelf life. It can and will last a year or more out of the fridge. Amazon sells the various preservatives. 🙏🏽🥰😘🌹

She used vitamin E to preserve it as it is an anti oxidant. Also, you can use essential oils that are anti oxidant to help preserve your products too. Go check which ones are anti oxidant though as not all of them are.

No I don’t think you can, you need the emulsification powder of e-wax to hold your water based creams and lotions. It’s the glue that keeps water and oil from separating
You mean food grade preservative. Food grade is for cosmetics also. Not in the making of food. Example! I make soap! There are two types of lye for soap making. Food grade and Non food grade. Food grade, those machines that process are solely for items going jn food or on the skin. Pretzels if you did not know used food grade lye in making them. Non food grade lye, those machines have all types of chemicals or products processed in them. Therefore deeming those products unsafe for human consumption or on our skin. Draino is a lye, but not for soap use! Because the machine it is processed on falls under the non food grade category because every thing is ran in those machines. Which is okay because it’s only being used for the drain not soap. You get the gist of it? 🌹
