- Hi guys.
On this episode I'll be adding the neon tetra babies in to their new home . It's been great fun bringing up these neon fry, a real blast from the past for me and I've thoroughly enjoyed it!! Go and give it a go for yourself. More breeding videos to come . - Животные
Love the whole process/progress on this breeding project -- super awesome and thanks again for sharing!
Glad you enjoy it!
I followed your guide, I've got 10 babies now !!! You legend !!
I believe this is the 4th time I have watched this Neon Tetra breeding series. I haven't succeeded breeding any egg scatterers yet but I am still as enthousiastic about it as I was the first time I came along this series about 2 years ago. Every time I watch and listen I find more details that may get me to a successful breeding attempt. Currently I am setting up 2 tanks again for a fresh attempt breeding Hyphessobrycon Cyanotaenia. EXCITED as ever about it.
Thanks Mark. I'm planning a return to fishkeeping following a 40 year break from the hobby. I've watched a lot of RUclips videos about fishkeeping and breeding recently but this Neon series was by far the most inspirational.
Thanks for watching Pete.👍😀
Really enjoyed this series, will definitely give it a try very soon! Always had eggs, but now I know why they disapear. Thanks!
Great series. Thank you. Congrats on all the suds you've been getting. Looking forward to the next series. All very informative thumbs up.
Love your videos!! Especially these breeding ones!! Thank you for taking the time to do them!! I have learned so much from you!! 💕
Terrific. This tetra breeding series is one of my all-time favorites. Thank you.
Hello from Chicago. I really enjoy watching this 4 part series on Neon fish. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
Before I saw this series, I thought it was impossible to breed Neons. Keep up the awesome work. You are truely one of the best aquatics channels out there. You deserve much more than 8300 subscribers. Love your videos ;)
Love the series of videos on these neon tetras. The amount of information and the little side notes you tell, shows how much you take pride in doing these videos. Thank you sir, for what you do! 👍. I have a school of neon and cardinals that I will attempt to try this in the very near future.
Thanks for another great video, I've really been enjoying these breeding series.
Friday I was taking down my old Apistogramma triple red spawning tank (upgraded them to a bigger setup) and behind the mattenfilter I found one tiny little neon tetra fry. It's about 6-8mm long and showing just his blue at the moment. The only thing I can figure is that the egg slipped through the 45 ppi foam filter, hatched and couldn't get back through the foam. Luckily it was a very mature tank with plenty of infusoria to feed on. Anyway I thought that was a interesting little story and a good reminder to always triple check your tanks when making big changes/moves, life will always find a way to surprise you!
The best HOW TO videos ...learnt so much from you Mark, thank you.x
I love the way you’re explaining everything so clear thank you for sharing this

Simply AWESOME as usual my friend. BRAVO!!!
Fantastic to see your whole process. Thanks a lot!
New to RUclips and new to aquarium fish, your "how to do is " absolutely brilliant. This will be a great hobby as I age. Keep up the great work Mark, Kind regards Ben .
A great Neon Tetra breeding series of videos Mark !
Want to thank you for sharing your knowledge with us...i know yu've reslly spent a lot of time d and i doing these videos and i, for one, am. Extremely graceful
👍🏻 great mini series
Really nice to watch your videos - I love your enthusiasm, your approach, your advice and of course - the fish! I used to be a half professional breeder for some years, but I have not had tanks for five years now (I love aquariums but I do not love to move them). I always plan tanks in my head though, and now I have found one I will go for (but all in due time, it will not go fast). I added some breeding tanks in the plan... :D
For hydrogen peroxide against cyano, it works great, but be careful if you have Ceratophyllum or Vallisneria in the tanks you are treating - those plants can melt away fast, they do not like hydrogen peroxide.
Keep up the good work, I am inspired again!
Great inspirational videos. I've bred danios, barbs, corys and gudgeons but I assumed it would be a lot more difficult to breed tetras. Your videos show that it really isn't too different and I think it's something I want to try in future!
Excellent videos Mark, well done your an inspiration mate.
Wow they really colored up nicely. Great work. Looks like there's at least 60 in there.
I thoroughly enjoyed this video series. Thank you for putting it together. New subscriber from Michigan in the USA. Cheers.
Thanks for watching and subscribing 😀👍
Impressed at how well you have got them to grow and how many guys have their own subscribe mug lol :)
I just recently discovered your enjoyable channel and watched your Neon Tetra video. Just a suggestion about culturing infusoria I wanted to share with you and your viewers. These cultures start off with a bacterial bloom, as I'm sure you know. It is the stinkiest stage. I've always found it helps to add trickle aeration, just a few bubbles per second, will help keep the cultures fresher smelling and more productive. The Paramecia, which usually dominate these cultures, are also phototropic like Artemia nauplii so a small light coming through a slit cut in dark paper around the culture container helps concentrate them for making a harvesting a denser quantity of animalcules per unit of withdrawn water. Keep up your good work. You do a great job of sharing your accumulated knowledge.
Some great tips there. Thanks for sharing and Thanks for watching.👍😀
Nice play list ! Thanks for the tips !

Great series. Been keeping fish for 30 years. Cold water, tropical and marine, but never got into breeding except the odd live breeder...but I am keen to give this a go. Will let you know how I go.
Great series, thanks so much!! ;)
Another awsome video sir thanks. Happy fishkeeping
Thanks for watching.👍😀
Ive been using oak leaves and old pine needles to lower my ph. It seems to be working according to the tests. Im from florida and i used alot of pine needles in my aquariums before I moved.
and lots of wood of course.
Hi mark I can’t believe I’ve not found you before now I’ve always wanted to breed my own tropical fish thanks very much for these videos
Thanks for watching and subscribing 😀👍
New subscriber here. Great to now follow a fantastic aquarium channel based within the UK, Especially South Wales! Fairly local (Swansea). Now I want to try my hand at breeding neon. Great content! Cheers.
Thanks for subscribing. It's nice to see welsh folk getting on board 👍😀
Thanks for the series. I think it´s the best on this species on RUclips! Really liking the peat substrate. All my tanks are blackwater.
I bet those fry would be more active with a proper cover of Pistia/Salvinia?
This series is great! I've been looking for something like this for a long time. Does this also work for breeding Cardinal Tetras?
Yes exactly the same 😀👍
Thanks bro, you are the best, I think I going to try soon, hope you keep help us a lot,
I'm just starting out with my water babies.. googling so much and. watching hours and hours of videos to learn everything I possibly can. I must say that if all the channels I've watched, yours is the most thorough and I've learned SO much!
How do you rinse the salt water from the brine shrimp without losing them all?
Thank you very much for your videos!
Greetings from germany :)
Great Job , Mr Mark coming from a person who.v met Herbert Richard Axelrod,s daughter who was breeding Blue Eyed Pleco,s
Thanks Mark, great video's
Thanks for watching Dan 😀👍
Great videos mark love the breeding series. Been very helpful, any chance of a video on breeding ember tetras? And emperor tetras again mark thanks for the videos and please keep the good work coming 😁 from your fellow Welsh aquarius 👍👍👍👍
Im going to give this a go. I have some really fat glowlight tetras that ive seen spawning so worth a go for sure.
Go for it! Thanks for watching.👍😀
Thanks again bro. Im breeding odessa barbs now
You mentioned killifish.. Always excited about killifish info.. thank you..
I love your world!!!
thanks🥰
So awesome
Hi Mark, I always enjoy watching your video's. What size tank did you use for your breeding tanks?
Maybe I missed it in #1, but you paired 2 Neons, but I didn't recall info on how to sex them and identify a pair to place together. Thanks for readdressing that here (a little)
The males are more torpedo shaped and the females are more rounded. If you condition your fish after a week or so you will see the females fill up with eggs. Then you will see the difference.
Just spawn my first neons! The fry are swimming around!! Your videos were very helpful and informative. Quick question how long does it take for them to get to full size?
I love this series, Mark. I've learned so much. Have you ever tried breeding Rummy Nose Tetras? Would they be similar to the neons? They are my absolute favorites.
Hi Mario. There on my list to breed. 👍😀
Hi! Love your videos, Ive loved them so much I’ve set up a 30x30x30 tank I had lying around to give this ago today! I couldn’t get the substrate but used a layer of almond leaves so 🤞 it works will I need an air stone in with the adults!? Got a culture on the go too! Thanks again 🐠
Congrats for a very informative and well done 4-part video on neon tetra breeding Mark. I noticed that the fourth and last part came 30 days after the first part. Does it mean the neon fry were just a month old in the fourth part? Thank you and God bless. Stay safe:)
Awesome!! Thanks sir mark for sharing this with us by the way im planning to breed neon tetras too i also want to breed my rosy tetras it is the same process as the neons? Btw great series i subscribed
Yes the same prosess 😀👍
cant wait for the zebra babies video
IT's awesome what you done here.
Can you try to breed bleeding heard Petra or Paracheirodon axelrodi?
Plz make an VIDEOS about german blue ram and electric blue.....😎😎😋
Hey Mark, thumbs up, absolutely fantastic tutorial on breeding and raising neons, followed your instructions to a T and have just started my free swimming fry on infusoria, man are these fry ever so small!! One question, when can light be safely introduced into the fry tank? Thanks mate!
You can dimly light the tank now. Their quiet shy when small. Congratulations 👏
A+ series, if you come across any Black Phantom Tetras can you give those a try, would love to see spawning behavior from them.
Noooo, now you tell me the peat needs sterilizing 🤣🙈 too late now lol. Lovely big shoal tho, hopefully I will have success soon. Thanks for all you do
Don't panic! It's not essential to do that. 👍😀 Good luck my friend.
Phew cos I didn't lol. My first stage is up on my channel and I've given you a shoutout and a link - STILL waiting for some of the peat to drop 3 days later lol but we'll get there. Black neons first, excellent dither fish in the betta sorority.
I'll take a look.👍😀
I’ve had small plecos about 4 inches long eight adults neon Tetris before, it’s happened twice with me, so I stopped keeping them with plecos. One was just a regular Pleco, I don’t even know what they called them and the other was a rubber mouth, both were about 4 inches long when they did it. And there were algae wafers in the tank at both times.
Mark. Any chance you could breed Harlequinn Raspbora? Thanks in advance.
EXCELLENT!! Tutorial!!! Once the fry are free swimming, how did you keep the water so clean? I did not see a sponge filter or any air at all.
Regular water changes. 10% every two weeks. Only feeding live food.
You should show us how to breed rainbow fish! I have a couple of Australian rainbow fish that I’ve been wanting to breed! 😊
This is hands down, the best series on how to breed Neons I've ever seen. It's very informative. Mark you are the man.
Thank you. And happy New year to you.
Wow
