    I recently had a bout with a seemingly unkillable Ick, but I ne believe it was Epistylus.

    As relieving as it is disappointing to figure out this is the issue I have with my pea puffers right now… it’s been ripping through my tank in the weirdest way. It’s only the puffers no other species

    I had no idea there's a disease that resembles ich. Thank you for the information.

    Thanks for following up on that saga. I appreciate a RUclipsr that offers closure to previous videos. 90% of RUclipsrs do not do this. Liked.

    Great informational video! As new fish keeper (1yr) I haven’t ran into any major issues. There are so many fish diseases I couldn’t possibly recognize them all. Thanks for the new info Dan! Now I have a new one under my belt! 😉

    Very good info glad you figured it out now if we can only figure out why African cichlids scratch with no apparent parasite on them and why they sometimes get these flat black spots on them but yet it never kills them but seems to irritate them great video in deep research thank you

    Thank you for this information. I had this in the past and thought it was an aggressive type if ich.

    I have a tank with ich and I doubt any fish will survive. If I remove the fish, treat the tank for a few weeks with medicine and water changes and vacuuming, can I skip removing the gravel for cleaning? I'd like to keep my tank and plants in place

    Have a platy that has this I think on tail not spreading though

      Check to see if it has fin rot. It's common because the epistylus feeds on the bacteria from the rot. It doesn't cause the fin rot, but takes advantage f the food source,

      Hifin variatis platy she is pretty no fin rot I do have a few Bettas with white mouth and fin rot, blood streaks! Maybe stress or water parameters!! Have to get school food than check !

    Dan I dont want to come off as a jerk but IMO you should never purchase a fish with any deformities or visible signs of disease.
    Good luck my friend......................very informative video.

    Please STOP saying it looks like ICH you’ve said it about 9 times! Ok it’s Epistylis, how do we get rid of the Epistylis please tell us that and stop keep saying it looks like bloody ICH PLEASE! I have Epistylis on my fish I just want one of these videos to say “this is how you cure Epistylis”

    • @mattcording3567
      @mattcording3567 2 года назад

      Yes I do understand how videos work, but out of about 9 I’ve watched they all say Epistylis and how to get rid of it, they then spend 6 minutes telling us it looks like ich and this is how you get rid of ich! I’d just love to see one about how to get rid of Epistylis…….that’s all sorry I’m just worried about my fish and I guess I’m panicking
