@@Awsimilateoh yes, minimum 3 days for the ick to drop, then another 4 days to confirm it's dead and can't reattach. One tank took 3 weeks for me, but no fish, plants or bacteria were harmed. Natural is the best option..
It worked great for me too. I had to throw a blanket over the tank to get over 86, so I ended up maintaining around 88-89 while the ick spots clear up. I'm pretty confident that I won't lose a single fish from this. Can you believe that some people think that 90 degrees will 'cook' their fish, but they are more than happy to dump toxins and formaldehyde into their tank? Insanity.
2.5 weeks ago my prized goldfish all had ich and I was worried. One of them had over 20 spots on him. I watched this video about a week after it was posted and did exactly what FF prescribes here. I didn’t have a heater so I ordered one on Amazon and it arrived a full 2 days after i noticed the ich. I raised the temp to 87 which took about 24 hours and tried to keep it there for a week. My house is very cold at night, so the tank would get down to about 83 overnight and return to 87 by noon. I kept the temperature like that for 3 days and the ich disappeared. I kept the temperature at that level for 4 more days and the ich hadn’t returned. On the 8th day I began lowering the temperature by 3 or 4 degrees per day until it was back to room temperature (around 72 degrees). The ich hasn’t returned after 2 weeks and my fish seem happier than ever. I’m so pleased that this worked without any chemicals that could have affected my fish or plants or microorganisms. I have a heater rated for 55 gallons in my 29 and I’m having a hard time getting the temps above 80ish. My house gets colder at night too and I was just wondering if you had any tips on getting the temps up
@@TCS_Aquatics the only thing that I know help a bit are a lid (I didn’t have one) and turning the ceiling fan off at night (I did this and it got me maybe an extra 1 degree Fahrenheit. It still worked just fine for me even tho my temps were lower than prescribed and inconsistent. Another thing you may try is putting the heater in direct flow? Might trick the sensor to think it’s colder so it stays on longer? Idk. I wish you the best of luck and I hope that helps

I dropped my water level down about four or five inches to allow less water volume to heat and also more surface agitation from my filter. I put my heater at 87 degrees Fahrenheit and mounted it at a slanted angle directly in the suction and flow of the heater. So far so good, the white spots that were on my neon tertras are completely gone and no other fish have any spots.

Only just found this gentleman and what a delight of a man to have in our hobbie. This man breaks down alot of what I already knew better than I ever could do. I stumbled onto the cycling of tanks through impatience because I would set up a tank and want fish straight away. Everything went well. Never had issues and all fish lived aslong as they should've. I stumbled across the need for no water changes through laziness. Forgetting to do water changes and then soon realising I didn't need to do them. When you think about it. You realise we are being sold a lie. Shops want to sell you shit. They willingly tell you to chuck a shit load of unnatural chemicals into our tanks. It can't be good. Decent filtration, sandy/soil substrate, and loads of plants, bit already matured filter media and your tank is away. Add fish and enjoy. I now have 5 tanks, 40k koi pond and never had a obvious issue. I've lost the odd fish with no obvious issue over the last 30 years, but this will happen, they are living creatures, and sometimes they will die suddenly, just like everything and everyone else. Don't panic and start chucking the shit the shops sell you. For many of them, it's profit over wellbeing. Look at your fish, they don't lie. If they are brightly coloured, feeding and swimming fine, you haven't an issue.

Best video on treating ich ever made, the heat treatment works and it’s easy on the fish. At most you might want to up your surface agitation and aeration if you keep colder water or temperate water fish like goldfish or koi. Also, I’m not sure if it really helps or not, but I always soak my fish food in garlic juice at this point and feed them using that method for the whole week.
I think I heard this from you a year or two ago after chemicals were ineffective and I started googling. I can confirm it works, twice. I think I introduced it with new fish each time, not had ich for years previously. 87°F is ~31°C, we usually have weeks at a time 5°C hotter than this in summer, so I know it wont hurt my fish for a short period.
Did this method for 4 days and the ich has fallen off I’m lowering the temp by 2 degrees today and then 1 degree tomorrow and for 3 more days this method has been working great so far!! I’m so happy to save my angel glo fish 🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤ thank you father fish!!!
Uggg. 2 months into my newly set up FF 100 gallon, I just noticed the multiple white spots on many fish. All the plants and fish from my local shop. Nope, I have not been watching them all day, so no idea when it began. Yeah, I know. Following your advice, I can only hope for the best. Cranked up the heat, as of right now. Nope, I have never dealt with this before, just a beginner. My tank has been at 79-80F since I set it up. My local store told me keeping my tank at 82 would be too hot for most of my fish and would shorten their lives. I guess I will keep it at 82 from now one while I stock my tank. Thanks for the info!

It’s true! I gave it a shot in my 500 gallon after bringing ich in with feeder fish. I didn’t lose any fish and the fish were happier and more active than ever! Great advice! 🙏🏾👍🏾

Thank you for making this video! I was worried about raising the temperature to 87 with goldfish, because they are not tropical. I did it anyway and the fish tolerated the heat just fine. They even seemed happier. After raising the temperature for about 6 days, the Ich is completely gone and the fish seem extremely healthy.

When my fish had ick 2 months ago, I was raising temperature gradually by 2°C a day. I was planning to raise it from 24°C to 30°C , but in my case 28°C (~82.5°F) was enough to get rid of them, didn't even need finish at 30°C. My fish had only about 1 to 2 "tumors" on themselves, so I believe that it was so effective because I noticed early. Also for some reason it only infected my Tiger Barbs, but my Black Neon Tetras in the same aquarium didn't catch it (just like in this video on 3:35, those Tetras seem uninfected). Things be weird sometimes. Anyway, this treatment definitely works.
@@jankxyard Of all the tetras I got in the past, can confirm black neons are the most bullet proof tetra ever. I got 12 of them about a year ago and not a single one of these have died nor got sick. I even transferred them to a new aquarium and all 12 survived and are thriving. Not exactly the prettiest looking tetra but absolutely trouble free if you never want to see a new fish belly up in a day or get ick
Had my first tank set up, three days later one of my six neon tetras died, day after that my betta died, I was devastated. Day after day I was watching the rest of them and after one week when I thought everything is ok I spotted white spots on two of my neons, watched this video, raised temperature hoping this will help my wish. I will come back with updates. I watched a lot of your videos and they inspire me to do the best for my fish. Thank you grandpa for sharing your knowlage with the world.
In less than 24 hours almost all of white spots are gone, only one small left on the tail of one of tetras. Thank you Father Fish, thank you for teaching us everything.

This has the be the number 1 question on all Fish Aquarium Hobbyist social media pages. I know pet stores love selling people chemicals to treat ick. Every time I see the question, almost every reply says you have to treat with some kind of chemical. I am a strong believer that stress leads to weak fish which lowers their immunity much like when people get sick. If you have a strong natural Father Fish tank, you have strong and healthy fish. It's interesting when you go fishing in a pond and catch a fish you don't see Ick on it, but in a gravel aquarium fish die all the time from Ick. It just makes common sense to make a Father Fish tank. Unfortunately Common Sense is not so common. :(
This worked great for me. I have 3 natural FF deep substrate tanks. In my 29 I have a female Betta, a few Corys, nerites, a couple of platys, some neon, black neon, and glowlights tetras, and some cherry barbs. Temp had been 78-79. Earlier this week I saw one white spot on my female Betta that I thought might be a grain of sand. That evening I came home and saw a glowlight with a spot. I turned the heater all the way up and fed the tank some finely chopped garlic (fermented in salt). All the fish ate at least some. In the morning, the temp had maxed out at 85 so I threw a blanket over the tank to keep the heat in. Some more glowlights and black neons were getting spots, the spot on my Betta was gone. I've had the temp steady around 88-89 since then, and every 12 hours there are less spots. This morning I am counting only 2 spots total on 2 black neons. No new infections are appearing and no fish are acting sick. I expect to see no infection at all 12 hours from now. I am a believer. All my tanks will stay at 82 degrees from now on. Thank you Father Fish for saving my tank!
just read your comment, i also have corys, a clown pleco, bettas, skirt tetras,neon tetras in a dirted planted tank. i just noticed yesterday a couple of white spots on my tetras and i am about to go get a heater to increase the temp. have your plants been affected by the temp, i understand raising the temp is way better for them than dosing them with chemicals. I see this response you made was about a month ago,do you still hold your tank at 82
@@sandies1703 plants were not affected at all. Yes I have had all my tanks at 81-82 ever since this happened. Raise temps to 87, it will get rid of the ich. Keep temps up until you have gone 5-6 days or more without seeing any ich spots on the fish. This may take a couple of weeks if you have a lot of fish in the tank, but don't panic.
FF, thank you so much for sharing the unbelievable knowledge. I noticed yesterday my three glo tetras with ich. I immediately turned the heater to 87 degrees, and today, I saw them almost all gone from the fins, etc. One had like 12 white spots, and it has two left. I am sure by the end of the day all will be gone. So, glad I found you.
I run a Discus tank completly on filtered rain water to keep it as natural as possible no declorinators ect. I run anoxic filtration in my sump 36 bcb baskets. I also move water through my sand bed slowly to keep it from going anaerobic I de-worm 3 times a year.
Hello Father Fish after recently talking to you about the possibility of my 6 cardinal tetras having ick to what one has died. I have done some research and found out it could be epistylis. The fish are not responding to the heat. The spots are fuzzy looking and look patchy and different sizes which is a sign of epistylis. I set up a deep substrate aquarium with lots of plants and an air stone. Tank is 3 weeks old and I’m afraid I’m going to have to start all over again. I’ve spent a lot of money on plants and your substrate etc. how can I treat the fish for epistylis and do I need to start over. Apparently it is a bacterial infection in the water. Any help would be appreciated as I can’t see any videos from you about it. I don’t want to add medication and kill the plants. Kind regards 😢
Some good things to keep in mind. I have to remember not to put medicine in the planted tanks !!! Once again both my aquariums are empty, even of plants, save for the rotala plucked from the riverdrain nearby. Planning to set up a simple nano fish aquascape for the 2 ft long aquarium. Albino cories , Green Neons ( if I can find them ) , and maybe honey gouramis
This week I suddenly noticed my fish were all gathered at the top breathing hard with white spot on their bodies. I immediately started using the typical melafix and pimafix since I have plants and snails I can't use products like maracyn and ich-x. I wish I knew this sooner I unfortunately lost some corys and rummy nose tetras these past 5 days but the others who remain are finally recovering 👍. Raising the water temp to 87, adding an additional air pump for flow to make up for the oxygen loss due to heating up the water and dumping some of the "garlic tea infusion" trick you shared in another video seems to have helped more than the herbal oil alternatives API sells. Everyone was scattered and stressed on the water surface using plants to hold them up there. in a matter of 3 hours after adding the "garlic tea" and some of that garlic for them to directly eat they finally went down to the middle of the water level, then over night they made their way down towards the bottom, today the rummy nose that remain are finally schooling together again and exploring like they used too. The catfish aren't going crazy anymore shooting up at the surface for air and back down over and over again things are looking up and as they stress less I do too in return. Thank you for your aquarium wisdom without it I'd probably would've lost all my fish 😭
Ever since I started using this method, I have not had Ich. I have friends who constantly battle it and won't switch to this method. I keep trying, but they keep resisting.

Hi father fish I'm from philippines thanks for this piece of advice. I've noticed that some of my neon tetra have few spots on them maybe 3-4 spots and currently they are in my 15 gal planted aquarium. Good thing I that I have a heater right now and I hope it will works for my neons because I have no plans of using chemicals in my tank.

amazing video. all i can say is keep this kind of content up if you can except do other problems. this was truly an amazing video. i also noticed that too that ich doesn't happen as much in a natural tank but my only thing i truly P[O-0-0;wonder is if those ponds that you showed for example get ich. is that possible? I feel like the natural system could knock out ich pretty easily. you don't see fish in the wild get this often that's for sure.

I have a 80 gallon discus tank with bandit cichlids. They happen to have ich and white spot. I used meds but didnt help much. I have my tank on 28 ish temp. Just put it up now with some salt. Had them since 4 years now and have a bond with them. Hope it works. Thanks father fish love your clips.

I am dealing with an ick right now following your advices and as of day 4 - I don't see any white spots anymore.....will keep my temperature at 87 for a few more days and then will lower it to 82. Was adding salt, vitamin c and garlic as well to my 20 gallon tank......in my other tank one of my female betta start having an ick as well so I'm immediately caught her wnd out her into my 20 gallon treated tank
I made a huge mistake yesterday.....I fed my fish while keeping my temperature at 87.....my tank crashed at night and I was very lucky to come back home in time.....I lost 3 tetras and one of my mollies was eaten by flowerhorn while I put the rest of my fish to my 55 gallon tank. Had to change 90 percent of water.....today my tank is doing great
And while using the heater to 87F should i leave in or remove the sponge filter from the tank ? Is it safe for the benefitial bacteria on the sponge filter? Thank you
I just noticed some white spots in my neon tetras and black neon tetras. I have a heater but it's a preset heater that maintains 78°+2F. I ordered an adjustable one just now. Hopefully I get it in time.
Hi Father Fish, I am trying this treatment. I have had the temp at 87-88 degrees for three days. One platy had ich spots reduce to just a single spot. One platy had a single spot that has now increased to several on the tail fin. No other fish have signs of infection. How long can I continue at 87 degrees? If you have time for a response I do appreciate it.

I also have snails. A couple mystery snails, ramshorn as well. Will turning up the tank to 87 be harmful to 6he snails?

Hello Father fish. So have a newly settled planted tank. Its definitely not sttled in its way yet. But i have a ich problem that has occured about 7 of my fish have spots. This is the third day i have raised the heat, from 76,80,82 now 87 degrees. How do you tell if the ich is falling off. The white spots are waste correct so it wouldnt dissapear until healed correct. Should i leave the heater on for more days. Ive feed them some garlic in there food....they are active and eating well. Thank you

Hi Father Fish it’s a great channel and very knowledgeable. I do have a question and something I would like to test to this mythology. You mentioned that the natural tank has its own beneficial bacteria that will kill ick when it is presented in a natural aquarium tank my question is if you do have a large fish that is covered with ick and you don’t want to see it pass away would it be fair if you were to place a fish that’s covered with ick into a natural tank that has all of the beneficial bacteria and raise the temperature of the natural tank to 87° and once the egg drops off the fish the natural bacteria will eat it and rid the tank and the fish and the eggs or would it be better to place that fish in a separate hospital tank and try to battle it by itself just the heat and not the bacteria that is my question.

Best video on treating ich ever made, the heat treatment works and it’s easy on the fish. At most you might want to up your surface agitation and aeration if you keep colder water or temperate water fish like goldfish or koi. Also, I’m not sure if it really helps or not, but I always soak my fish food in garlic juice at this point and feed them using that method for the whole week.

I think I heard this from you a year or two ago after chemicals were ineffective and I started googling. I can confirm it works, twice. I think I introduced it with new fish each time, not had ich for years previously. 87°F is ~31°C, we usually have weeks at a time 5°C hotter than this in summer, so I know it wont hurt my fish for a short period.
Did this method for 4 days and the ich has fallen off I’m lowering the temp by 2 degrees today and then 1 degree tomorrow and for 3 more days this method has been working great so far!! I’m so happy to save my angel glo fish 🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤ thank you father fish!!!

Uggg. 2 months into my newly set up FF 100 gallon, I just noticed the multiple white spots on many fish. All the plants and fish from my local shop. Nope, I have not been watching them all day, so no idea when it began. Yeah, I know. Following your advice, I can only hope for the best. Cranked up the heat, as of right now. Nope, I have never dealt with this before, just a beginner. My tank has been at 79-80F since I set it up. My local store told me keeping my tank at 82 would be too hot for most of my fish and would shorten their lives. I guess I will keep it at 82 from now one while I stock my tank. Thanks for the info!

It’s true! I gave it a shot in my 500 gallon after bringing ich in with feeder fish. I didn’t lose any fish and the fish were happier and more active than ever! Great advice! 🙏🏾👍🏾

Thank you for making this video! I was worried about raising the temperature to 87 with goldfish, because they are not tropical. I did it anyway and the fish tolerated the heat just fine. They even seemed happier. After raising the temperature for about 6 days, the Ich is completely gone and the fish seem extremely healthy.

When my fish had ick 2 months ago, I was raising temperature gradually by 2°C a day. I was planning to raise it from 24°C to 30°C , but in my case 28°C (~82.5°F) was enough to get rid of them, didn't even need finish at 30°C. My fish had only about 1 to 2 "tumors" on themselves, so I believe that it was so effective because I noticed early.
Also for some reason it only infected my Tiger Barbs, but my Black Neon Tetras in the same aquarium didn't catch it (just like in this video on 3:35, those Tetras seem uninfected). Things be weird sometimes.
Anyway, this treatment definitely works.
@@jankxyard Of all the tetras I got in the past, can confirm black neons are the most bullet proof tetra ever. I got 12 of them about a year ago and not a single one of these have died nor got sick. I even transferred them to a new aquarium and all 12 survived and are thriving. Not exactly the prettiest looking tetra but absolutely trouble free if you never want to see a new fish belly up in a day or get ick
Had my first tank set up, three days later one of my six neon tetras died, day after that my betta died, I was devastated. Day after day I was watching the rest of them and after one week when I thought everything is ok I spotted white spots on two of my neons, watched this video, raised temperature hoping this will help my wish. I will come back with updates. I watched a lot of your videos and they inspire me to do the best for my fish. Thank you grandpa for sharing your knowlage with the world.
In less than 24 hours almost all of white spots are gone, only one small left on the tail of one of tetras. Thank you Father Fish, thank you for teaching us everything.

This has the be the number 1 question on all Fish Aquarium Hobbyist social media pages. I know pet stores love selling people chemicals to treat ick. Every time I see the question, almost every reply says you have to treat with some kind of chemical. I am a strong believer that stress leads to weak fish which lowers their immunity much like when people get sick. If you have a strong natural Father Fish tank, you have strong and healthy fish. It's interesting when you go fishing in a pond and catch a fish you don't see Ick on it, but in a gravel aquarium fish die all the time from Ick. It just makes common sense to make a Father Fish tank. Unfortunately Common Sense is not so common. :(

This worked great for me. I have 3 natural FF deep substrate tanks. In my 29 I have a female Betta, a few Corys, nerites, a couple of platys, some neon, black neon, and glowlights tetras, and some cherry barbs. Temp had been 78-79. Earlier this week I saw one white spot on my female Betta that I thought might be a grain of sand. That evening I came home and saw a glowlight with a spot. I turned the heater all the way up and fed the tank some finely chopped garlic (fermented in salt). All the fish ate at least some. In the morning, the temp had maxed out at 85 so I threw a blanket over the tank to keep the heat in. Some more glowlights and black neons were getting spots, the spot on my Betta was gone. I've had the temp steady around 88-89 since then, and every 12 hours there are less spots. This morning I am counting only 2 spots total on 2 black neons. No new infections are appearing and no fish are acting sick. I expect to see no infection at all 12 hours from now. I am a believer. All my tanks will stay at 82 degrees from now on. Thank you Father Fish for saving my tank!
just read your comment, i also have corys, a clown pleco, bettas, skirt tetras,neon tetras in a dirted planted tank. i just noticed yesterday a couple of white spots on my tetras and i am about to go get a heater to increase the temp. have your plants been affected by the temp, i understand raising the temp is way better for them than dosing them with chemicals. I see this response you made was about a month ago,do you still hold your tank at 82
@@sandies1703 plants were not affected at all. Yes I have had all my tanks at 81-82 ever since this happened. Raise temps to 87, it will get rid of the ich. Keep temps up until you have gone 5-6 days or more without seeing any ich spots on the fish. This may take a couple of weeks if you have a lot of fish in the tank, but don't panic.

I immediately turned the heater to 87 degrees, and today, I saw them almost all gone from the fins, etc. One had like 12 white spots, and it has two left. I am sure by the end of the day all will be gone. So, glad I found you.
I run a Discus tank completly on filtered rain water to keep it as natural as possible no declorinators ect.
I run anoxic filtration in my sump 36 bcb baskets.
I also move water through my sand bed slowly to keep it from going anaerobic
I de-worm 3 times a year.

Hello Father Fish after recently talking to you about the possibility of my 6 cardinal tetras having ick to what one has died. I have done some research and found out it could be epistylis. The fish are not responding to the heat. The spots are fuzzy looking and look patchy and different sizes which is a sign of epistylis. I set up a deep substrate aquarium with lots of plants and an air stone. Tank is 3 weeks old and I’m afraid I’m going to have to start all over again. I’ve spent a lot of money on plants and your substrate etc. how can I treat the fish for epistylis and do I need to start over. Apparently it is a bacterial infection in the water. Any help would be appreciated as I can’t see any videos from you about it. I don’t want to add medication and kill the plants.

Some good things to keep in mind. I have to remember not to put medicine in the planted tanks !!! Once again both my aquariums are empty, even of plants, save for the rotala plucked from the riverdrain nearby. Planning to set up a simple nano fish aquascape for the 2 ft long aquarium. Albino cories , Green Neons ( if I can find them ) , and maybe honey gouramis

This week I suddenly noticed my fish were all gathered at the top breathing hard with white spot on their bodies. I immediately started using the typical melafix and pimafix since I have plants and snails I can't use products like maracyn and ich-x. I wish I knew this sooner I unfortunately lost some corys and rummy nose tetras these past 5 days but the others who remain are finally recovering 👍. Raising the water temp to 87, adding an additional air pump for flow to make up for the oxygen loss due to heating up the water and dumping some of the "garlic tea infusion" trick you shared in another video seems to have helped more than the herbal oil alternatives API sells. Everyone was scattered and stressed on the water surface using plants to hold them up there. in a matter of 3 hours after adding the "garlic tea" and some of that garlic for them to directly eat they finally went down to the middle of the water level, then over night they made their way down towards the bottom, today the rummy nose that remain are finally schooling together again and exploring like they used too. The catfish aren't going crazy anymore shooting up at the surface for air and back down over and over again things are looking up and as they stress less I do too in return. Thank you for your aquarium wisdom without it I'd probably would've lost all my fish 😭

Hi father fish I'm from philippines thanks for this piece of advice. I've noticed that some of my neon tetra have few spots on them maybe 3-4 spots and currently they are in my 15 gal planted aquarium. Good thing I that I have a heater right now and I hope it will works for my neons because I have no plans of using chemicals in my tank.
I also done as Father said.. but I also fed my fish lightly with Garlic guard on the food I fed them👍🏼

amazing video. all i can say is keep this kind of content up if you can except do other problems. this was truly an amazing video. i also noticed that too that ich doesn't happen as much in a natural tank but my only thing i truly P[O-0-0;wonder is if those ponds that you showed for example get ich. is that possible? I feel like the natural system could knock out ich pretty easily. you don't see fish in the wild get this often that's for sure.

I have a 80 gallon discus tank with bandit cichlids. They happen to have ich and white spot. I used meds but didnt help much.
I have my tank on 28 ish temp. Just put it up now with some salt. Had them since 4 years now and have a bond with them. Hope it works. Thanks father fish love your clips.

I am dealing with an ick right now following your advices and as of day 4 - I don't see any white spots anymore.....will keep my temperature at 87 for a few more days and then will lower it to 82. Was adding salt, vitamin c and garlic as well to my 20 gallon tank......in my other tank one of my female betta start having an ick as well so I'm immediately caught her wnd out her into my 20 gallon treated tank
I made a huge mistake yesterday.....I fed my fish while keeping my temperature at 87.....my tank crashed at night and I was very lucky to come back home in time.....I lost 3 tetras and one of my mollies was eaten by flowerhorn while I put the rest of my fish to my 55 gallon tank.
Had to change 90 percent of water.....today my tank is doing great
And while using the heater to 87F should i leave in or remove the sponge filter from the tank ? Is it safe for the benefitial bacteria on the sponge filter? Thank you
I just noticed some white spots in my neon tetras and black neon tetras. I have a heater but it's a preset heater that maintains 78°+2F. I ordered an adjustable one just now. Hopefully I get it in time.
Last time i had Ich in my tank, i went HAM. Cranked up the heat as well as a 150% dose of salt. Cleared up real quick!

Hi Father Fish, I am trying this treatment. I have had the temp at 87-88 degrees for three days. One platy had ich spots reduce to just a single spot. One platy had a single spot that has now increased to several on the tail fin. No other fish have signs of infection. How long can I continue at 87 degrees? Question, I have a beta and he developed a white spot which I believe is ich. I also have snails. A couple mystery snails, ramshorn as well. Will turning up the tank to 87 be harmful to 6he snails?

Hello Father fish. So have a newly settled planted tank. Its definitely not sttled in its way yet.
But i have a ich problem that has occured about 7 of my fish have spots. This is the third day i have raised the heat, from 76,80,82 now 87 degrees. How do you tell if the ich is falling off. The white spots are waste correct so it wouldnt dissapear until healed correct.
Should i leave the heater on for more days. Ive feed them some garlic in there food....they are active and eating well.

Hi Father Fish. Do you have any or had water fleas, Cyclops etc? in your tanks. I have collected some pond water which was intended for a new set up but due to the for and against these critters I am somewhat concerned. Dropsy is internal bacterial infection, ty[ically in the gut. Crushed garlic and salt can cure it if the fish is still eating.
Hi Father Fish it’s a great channel and very knowledgeable. I do have a question and something I would like to test to this mythology. You mentioned that the natural tank has its own beneficial bacteria that will kill ick when it is presented in a natural aquarium tank my question is if you do have a large fish that is covered with ick and you don’t want to see it pass away would it be fair if you were to place a fish that’s covered with ick into a natural tank that has all of the beneficial bacteria and raise the temperature of the natural tank to 87° and once the egg drops off the fish the natural bacteria will eat it and rid the tank and the fish and the eggs or would it be better to place that fish in a separate hospital tank and try to battle it by itself just the heat and not the bacteria that is my question.
