    Screw OCD! It’s a liar !
    I been doing what you been saying plus meditation
    And I have a certain time in the day for a few mins then it goes away.
    I’ve quit all compulsions even mental. I am learning how to work through the anxiety. So what it’s there and... your not going to stop me from what I need to get done.

      @@sns595 I choose to sit through the anxiety… and do my goals and what needs to get done. And it goes away.
      No compulsions anymore just mental sometimes but so what that’s not my reality. My reality is whet I’m doing my actions.

      @@purplecat248 it was working for me but then I ended up staying up past midnight for a few days and then got almost 0 sleep and it all came back! But i do smoke cigarettes and I wonder if it’s maybe because of too much nicotine?

    I'm in Pure O recovery with your videos. These are your amazing powerful phrases that help me:

    4.Don't Chase The Feeling!
    5.You Made the Thought Important!

    9. The Big Lie why my current theme is real and all of a sudden my previous themes don't matter.

    The thoughts are so scary they scare the living sh*t out of me 😭 I used to have HOCD and now it's switched to BI-OCD and it now sucks I hate it I wanna grow old with a man only and have a lovely boyfriend (I'm a girl) but my mind feels me otherwise

    Ali, you are absolutely incredible. I listen to the other RUclips channels on OCD and, while they are still good & helpful, your input is by far the best and comes across as the most experienced. You seem to have a greater grip on what OCD is and it how it actually works than anyone else. You're amazing!

    Thanks for your great videos! I have religious OCD and whenever I start a religious prayer or something related, my mind curses God in terrible ways and no matter how hard I try, I CANNOT brush it off and i always...always end up repeating, so I am still in point zero. I don't know how to ignore it, no matter how hard I try to convince my mind. If it was in another area of my life, it would be easier to disregard, but my mind does sacrilegious things and give me blasphemous thoughts. I also do reassurance, and feel that I didn't do it right, and have to do each part a certain way, or else it doesn't feel right. It is extremely hard beginning the worship, especially prayer, because of this.

      Sweetstuff S just know that you are not alone. Have had this since childhood, having thought that are horrible about God. OCD attacks the beliefs you hold dearest, but at the end of the day just know it is all anxiety.

    The thing is I got my ocd relapse now before my wedding around the corner. Feel sad that I should be excited and happy instead of panicking and feel like throw up when it arises. Thankyou Ali, I cant thank you enough but you save many ppl lives.

    I'm recently starting to delay the compulsions. Even by a few days. And as time goes by, the intensity of the demand to do the compulsions lessons. And when I've more than one to do, it seems to be better because I actually start to forget why I did one or two of them. Anythings worth a try 😉

    I feel like my OCD got worse as I have been on my phone more,,, and more I mean like almost all day…. And nicotine aswel… , I’m going to try to put my phone for 2 weeks with exceptions of using my calling and google maps, no computer screens aswel and see if it helps

    This approach has helped me so much with intrusive thoughts and many themes of OCD. However, I find it more difficult to ignore thoughts and feelings with Real Event OCD because of what they tell me about myself. Real Event OCD has been the hardest theme I've dealt with thus far. But I would guess the same approach applies to this theme?

    Is this the same for like generalised anxiety thoughts? I'm confused your channel seems about ocd but a lot of it relates with gad too.

      I have both Anxiety an OCD and they are very common in many ways especially, OCD it is anxiety based so yes its for both :)

      @@floraeschner3811 thanks I'm just doing what her method and other people say let your feelings and thoughts float in your mind like clouds passing in the sky. It's helped massively over the last few months I've stopped obsessing still get the thoughts from time to time but just let them float by. I don't know if it's me practicing that or the medication I'm on but I'm back to normal pretty much. Hope you are well.

    Can you talk about Body Dismorphic Disorder its very similar to OCD, It used to be classified as a type of OCD, I just dont understand how BDD Works, your audios have helped me a lot I truly thank you, i react with fear to the intrusive thoughts but i just feel they are real and important and they will have an impact on my life and idk what to do

    Hi Ali , Thanks for the videos they are amazing and really have helped me alot , do you have any specific tips for existential OCD as I dont think i've seen much about it and its a theme that gets me stuck quite alot. Thanks!

    But what if you have Health Anxiety OCD....how do you know for sure the thought is a lie?

      Maybe by going to the doctor and getting blood work done and having them reassure someone that everything is working properly. Some people struggle with paranoia though and don't trust doctors.

    I am trying to sit down and do the exposure thing and nothing comes and hits me. I try to say the lines and it doesn’t give anything back. I had spiked earlier on in the day where I was in tears. Why is it not fighting back now when I’m openly provoking it?

    this is nothing you just start to notice your self typing texting understanding walking moving blinking breathing you will get anxious and panic i suffered from it daily like when im lying my thoughts are like what if i couldn't stand up and lyi dong forever also if i close my eyes what if i couldn't open if im walking my thoughts are like what if i stop walking suddenly abd what if my mind stop giving orders to my leg what if i stop thinking and whenever i do something like move my legs while watching video im like why I'm moving my legs i have these thoughts need help is this ocd or ???please help im facing these thoughts since 2weeks bcuz of excessive anxiety overthinking 😢

    What if the pain disappers but thoughts remain stuck in the head? What does this mean?

      It means your less sensitized from Anxiety it doesn't mean your cured. Its a start but even when your not in a state of sensitization you have to remember not to engage with your thoughts. If you can do this soon the thoughts aswell as the pain will disappear. It'll take work im still in the recovery prosses and god knows ive relapsed countless times

    how to beat this thoughts for example when my ocd makes bets in my head if i lose this and that the devil takes my soul? thing how will i ignore this? i just keep battling it but luckily i always win but i dont know what will i feel if i ever get beaten? please help this is a crazy thoughts..

      its nothing bro.. just ignore it its impossible not to walk or open your eyes when there closed, there is 2 reasons this could happen either your dead or paralyze.. but in your condition now i don't think those things could ever happen..

    So you would say 6 months to get out of ocd then 6 months to stabilise and then at least between 6 months to 1 year to really watch it?

      Both, as I understand it. She says to live parallel to the thoughts, to live your life, even if the thoughts are playing in the background, but to not answer or try to figure them out.
