    Ali I've had Pure O for 52 years I got it age 11 when my beloved grandmother passed away unexpectedly.I started praying to God to not let my parents and siblings and any other family member die on me I am now chronic OCD sufferer I just think of a person usually my children or grandchildren and if I don't make it right in my head I will somehow cause them to die or be harmed because of me I know it's illogical but even all these years later it seems real it's as if I have some kind of magical power to think people dead or harmed ,so I still can't get passed it please tell me how to get past that type of thought

    You just described my life! It started at 9, stayed away until I was 16, came back very strong and has been on and off ever since. But this time (I’m 27 now) I’m actually doing the homework properly. I listen to these videos when I’m NOT feeling anxious. Thank you!!!

      Vary strange I expirenced the same thing, my ocd started when i was around 7-8 (maybe younger) and then went quiet (aside from a few flare ups here and there) until I was about 19. I call it the dormancy period where ocd seems so dicipate for years at a time. I don't see other people talk about it much

    I have had actually really bad ocd lately and the worst part is that Its about this one memory or a moment which I'm living in my head like 24/7 and its so anxious to me. I'm not the victim there at this memory its just that I'm so scared that Im a bad person or actually I'm what my old is telling and I'm feared about it, but it has happened its just not intrusive thought

Sitting with ocd induced anxiety here aged 43(((( topics change but repeat sometimes...drained and devastated. miss the person i was in february....
    why should topics repeat??? also appear after severe stress...combination of stresses.Damn it

    Maybe for the shock aspect of it, they can, with ERP, take bach flowers to help them with the shock. Rescue remedy or Star of Bethlehem
    It is 100% natural and you are not dependent to it once you stop

Have an OCD thought then as compulsion, we should look at some especial thing. The more try to avoid watching, more looking I mean.

    I'm so sorry for bothering, but I have a question. I have religious ocd and I'm a LGBT person and the ocd is ruining my life with those opsessions that are connected to the LGBT for example "tommorow when you get up you will be male, when you go there your behavior will be like a male and etc" another example for that is that I can't concentrate while I'm trying to meditate, also I'm feeling like my hands are dirty of negative energy so I need to wash my hands and more. Thank you so much for everything, sending love and light. Stay blessed.

    • @smurfette1509
      @smurfette1509 5 лет назад +4

      I'm LGBT too and I have OCD. My thoughts when reading your message is that OCD can hook up to anything. As long as you react with fear it's going to cause you problems. But as was mentioned in this tutorial these thoughts are just a symptom of OCD. The obsessions mean nothing, they are trash. I hope you find a way to get over this as I'm looking for a way too. Or, rather, I know the way to get over it. I just need to do it even though I am scared. And by that I mean a heavy daily dose of exposure and response prevention. I am preparing to live life as my true gender after many decades in the closet and I don't want OCD to ruin my life and I don't want it to ruin yours either. Best of luck and lots of love to you.❤️

    • @smurfette1509
      @smurfette1509 5 лет назад +1

      @@mariii5991 Thanks for sharing. It's okay that you find it difficult to explain. ERP can be painful: a short term sacrifice to get better. I just hope you give ERP every chance to work before you ever consider giving up on the technique. You can, for example, break down the tasks and take on smaller chunks at a time, or see a therapist, or find a new therapist that you may click with better, or develop skills to distract yourself when out of ERP mode (when doing ERP you don't distract yourself, you face the fear and get that anxiety up on purpose). 💗
