It takes a little time but trust me it is so worth it. I am 1 month in ERP and I honestly feel so much better. Don’t get me wrong I have my bad days but nothing at all like I used to. Just keep pushing forward.

Ali you deserve a Nobel peace prize for the work you do. The lives you have saved must be in the 1000s. I honestly can't thank you enough 🙏💚 I was in the darkest of holes in 2017 with no knowledge of how to get out or where to even turn to understand what I was dealing with. Your videos saved my life and got me out of the darkness. I recently had to deal with a series of traumatic events which triggered anxiety and then followed by intrusive thoughts. I felt myself falling back into the hole I was convinced I'd left, so I've come back to your videos and found even more understanding and knowledge, I have some work to do but that ok, I am stronger thanks to you... big love and many blessings to you ali... 🙏💚💚🙏

@@Ashish-nd3xj I'm doing well thank you. It wasn't pretty that's for sure, this relapse really caught me off guard, but through education and finding a deeper understanding of what I'm dealing with, I've been able to see it as a gift which has allowed me to transcend to a better version of myself. It's not easy but who said it would be, but its fuckin worth it. I hope you are doing well and finding your way through the dark matter, just remember recovery is completely possible and remind yourself that the universe is working for you, not against you. You'll be ok.. 🙏💚

This advice is sooo hard to implement when you're in it but so, so worth the peace of mind and sense of calm you get as a result. I find it hardest when the anxiety is strong and remains even after I accept it. You're right that it doesn't always feel good in the moment. But I try to remind myself of your advice not to solve the thoughts, that trying to solve the thoughts will only keep me in an endless loop.

It's funny that you used that metaphor of hearing your neighbor yelling through the wall because that's the main theme of my OCD- I'm anxious and paranoid that my neighbors will hear me through the wall and judge me.
But thanks for the video, Ali! It really calms me down to listen to you. You give me hope that I'll be able to escape this mental hell one day.

I have OCD my 21 year old daughter has OCD as well. I would consider seeking help but I'm not quite sure what is troubling me is OCD or generalized anxiety disorder. I have classic perfectionism OCD and cleaning OCD for a fact but the worrying I do on a daily basis about my daughter is crippling me and our relationship.I do not mean I just worry about her OCD condition I worry about it ALL with her. For example she has a Doctor's appointment on Friday and I'm already worried about her scheduling the next one in three months will it interfere with her final exam schedule. That is just the tip of the iceberg.
If I knew for certain this was OCD I might consider getting help. I'm so confused is this in fact OCD or is it just being a good mother?

Hi Ali! Your channel is so helpful I don’t know how to Thankyou for all of your help in my recovery. One question never seems to leave me, it would really help if you made a video on it, the question is why do I analyse every movement when I get a thought thinking if that thing was there I would do it now, then analysing my every movement then literally just moving my hand or head I think I acted on it because of the moral intent. If you could answer this it would save my life. Thankyou so much !

sajitha sunil I don’t know if this is different for everybody but in the end it faded away for me. I had to remind myself that “I’m recovered and OCD is no longer present in my life.” At that time I didn’t have 10/10 anxiety since I had already been working on my recovery, so the thoughts came repeatedly with 1/10 intensity. I was at my 6th month of OCD-recovery-work and after I wrote this comment, the thoughts became less and less intense and other thoughts, realistic and day-to-day things, took up that space in my mind. I hope Ali will make a video about this, if she hasn’t already touch in this topic already. I know she has explained that some who are very focused on their recovery-work and winning the battle, can have the tendency to get caught up on their OCD-recovery and will get thoughts on this. My experience may be different to yours, but I hope this gives you some clarity.

Tinde Vinther-Lindgaard Yes i also feel as if mine is slowly fading away and i don’t get caught up in my thoughts, i’ve been practicing observing my thoughts and emotions, that’s what seems to be key in all negative thoughts and emotions!
