Legend has it that if you stand in a vacant lot in the middle of nowhere and say Dollar General 3 times one will magically appear there within a month.
Freightliner : trash on the dash
DOT Officer : *heavy breathing*
Only thing on my dash besides my Garmin is my my patrol cap and my inverter.
Flip floppers are AKA steering wheel holders 😂
They are probably holding something else that belongs to a good buddy.
Mostly migrants
Well that's what all of us truck drivers are, steering wheel holders, because that's what we do, we hold the steering wheel to steer the truck where it has to go. It's just another name for us that has to do with something pertaining to our job, like gear jammers, diesel dogs, road runners, and freight relocation engineers.
I work for Dollar General and the store I’m delivering to is in the middle of the woods 😂😂😂
Driver , God Bless You 🙏👍✌️🚚😂
Which one? There’s like 5 Dollar Generals in a 20 mile radius where I live, lol
I drove for dollar general for four years they put those stores in the woods on top of hills the city the country anywhere they can build them lol
As a driver for dollar general also. I can confirm all of this is correct 😂
I also got hired for dollar general...
1st call they said $1,800 week
2nd call set up orientation then they said $1,500wk
3rd call hotel set up, confirmation # then they said $1,200 a week.
😂 I'm like WTF! Y'all go to hell I told them.
Driving aggressively... to pass... to end up stopping...at a light...in front of the truck you passed...🪰💩🤠

But that person is still ahead of you though
@@TheIrishRushin Im at philly steak and Lemonade on 30 right now I couldn’t agree more. Try driving Semi’s in the area from Chicago to Burns Harbor
If I'm MT and your loaded.... simple physics....
Most of those drivers have never worn shoes or used toilets.
...and can't speak English.
Yup, flip flops are high fashion in their backward Country.
Yikes 😳😬.
Six months ago they were living in a grass hut and shitting in the jungle and wiping their ass with their hand
Especially INDOOR TOILETS.
I deliver soft drinks on a tractor trailer to DGs. They are 100% in the middle of the woods. My favorite is one where you choose between going uphill and across railroad tracks, or under an 11' bridge. I choose the tracks.
Dollar general will put a store anywhere
They are scamming everyone.
@@michaelwhite278 I agree
And 5 miles apart
And send a full 53ft NO MATTER WHAT
NEXT sign of the end-of-times: Bonehead Truckers branded flip flops, get yours now! 😅 Shame on my humor, too many hours . I think I am going to a few more minutes. Lol
I’m a Dollar general fleet driver out of SA, this dude is a fresh driver cause of the reefer but yes they are building them in the woods and places trucks can’t go, I’ve done 3 today here in Houston where the only way to the store was through a neighborhood
Yeah I did fresh. It’s an almost impossible task my truck gps always tried to take me down one lane roads. My atlas didn’t even show the roads I was on.
I'm pretty sure that first DG shot was on U. S. 119 north of Charleston WV , not far from Clendenin.
Maybe they need to contract with some local cartage companies and have them deliver to the stores with a straight truck or pup. Years ago the company I worked at would deliver the Walgreens stores that the trailers couldn’t get into
@@diggy794 pffff who are you telling lol, it seems like these parking lots or where they build the stores seems like a giant setup for failure
I was reading an article one day, the very first thing people notice about you is your shoes. It’s true, I don’t want to see anyones foot fungus or dirty socks!
Only good looking woman should wear flip flops. On the beach I use sneakers or go barefoot.
Even if a driver going to Purina in Clinton, Iowa; If the guard catch a driver wearing flip flops while checking in, He will not let that driver off in the Purina plant .
The werner driver was just trying to get the pee off of his feet
Can you imagine walking around in a truck drivers bathroom wearing flip flops ......🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wait till summer 🌞 hits and you will see a lot of flip flops.
Yeah. Most truck stop bathrooms I see looks like people missed the target.
They must like the piss splashing on their feet
Can you imagine being a grown ass man wearing shorts above your knees?
it would be nasty
I do not believe in flip-flops!! They should not even exist! The only thing that is worse than flip flops is wearing socks while you're wearing flip-flops!
If someone else's footwear choice upsets you, then you are what the goobs call triggered.
@@jimandskittum so to put this in terms that you can understand if somebody's OPINION about footwear triggers you enough to come and comment to them about THEIR RIGHT TO FREE SPEECH then what does that say about you in your own triggered logic?
I thought DOT states CDL drivers must wear "closed toe shoes"
@@fredericklederer2011 that's the word around the campfire anyway. You know what they say jackassey is as jackassey Does.
Real MEN don't wear flipflops!
Some warehouses require steel toe on property. Boots are cheaper than losing toes to injury or frostbite. Or step in another bone head's poop/ pass puddle
DOT says your not allowed to drive with flip-flops on too.
Hey Ike that looks like granite slabs that fell off of the flatbed
Exactly
I know if he comes to our place they wouldn't get loaded with flip-flops on. You're not getting loaded until you have boots on.
I agree. People who don't respect themselves will get no respect from others.
It takes respect to get respect.
Yup. Don't go to the store in ur pajamas and expect to be respected...
Ike im a fueler and you will get banned or pretty much fired for wearing flip flops at the loading racks and refinery! Oh no shorts either! Flame resistant ppe and long pants required at all times.
It’s kinda of non issue with fuel hauling. The flip flop gang doesn’t possess the skills to be able to get into a lot of these gas stations.
@@kyleburns5772 right
@@michaelbleckler4379Yep same for the hot asphalt tankers. I wear everything I can to keep that 350 degree tar off my hide. The learning curve is steep! I have seen some gruesome things.
@@1320pass amen brotha. Ive scene you guys load. Scary stuff
Same with flat bedding a lot of places require closed toed or safety shoes and PPE but that requires getting out of the truck and doing work. Flip Flop wearer idea of work is opening the door to load and unload.
That wasn't glass... marble (or marble look-alike) sheets.
Still not something I would want to have to explain, my big question was were was the straps and edge guards as that will cut a strap like nothing, it's more of what can't cut a strap at times
@@GrayD1ce There's a place in North Georgia that ships a lot of that material, and they check your securement. Many shippers don't look at the load and there's way too many drivers doing flatbed that haven't got a clue!
@2020HotShotTruckingLLC did flatbed for 8 years gave it up after the last big fall and the boss shutting the company down
@@GrayD1ce Hopefully it led you to something better. Freight is crappy now, and I spent too much on an overhaul so I'm just doing power only dry van. I'll save my $$$ and decide what kind of trailer to buy when things pick back up.
Good morning IKE from Fayetteville TN another great batch of videos Raining here all day. IKE for President. Yea
Yes, they put Dollar Generals in the middle of the woods, in impossible places, 4:36
They need to show your videos at truck driver training school.😊
Thursday's class of 3:45 pm has been showing all us how it's done and that's not a good thing.
What school? Oh! The card on the back of the cereal box they fill out!
Dollar General sends trucks out to random places and the ones that get stuck in the middle of no where become the site for a new store.
Ike, basically: "If you can make good money consistently doing cross-country trucking & transporting of goods all over America, then YOU CAN RESERVE YOUR FLIP FLOPS FOR THE TRUCK STOPS WHEN YOU NEED TO SHOWER ONLY, AND GO BUY YOURSELVES SOME REAL TRUCKER BOOTS!!!"
I work in the AG a lot as a driver moving harvesters and also drop bud sprout crops to the fields to be planted and also did field to cooler with fresh lettuce. There is nothing nastier than seeing all sorts of open toed shoes in a cooler facility where raw unsealed produce is. It's not only a professionalism thing, but a hygieneic thing near raw produce in the cooler. We've seen foot fungus guys with messed up feet near unsorted pallets and totes of raw greens. Good laugh when the supervisors yell at them to go throw their shoes on.
They are not truck drivers they are guys driving trucks 😊😊
Uh well duh huh if you're driving a truck then ergo you're a truck driver.
@@user-og1se9qm8b It's sad I would have to explain that 😕
That trash bag under that trailer looked like a snake 🐍 coiled up
The biggest issue I have with Dollar general is that they mostly use 53 ft trailers. I'd run their freight, but not with a 53ft trailer.
There pay sucks too
@@Weezy10580 alot of the dedicated drivers ik make more than 90k. Still sucks though.
@@blueridgeocean Not worth it though. You can make more doing ltl linehaul
@@Weezy10580 yeah
Aint that the shit, the shit was waiving at him from under the truck, lol
The semi driver who passed in a no passing zone, wow. Imagine if a cabover semi driver got hit head on by a goofball like that, the cabover driver would be done.
Never thought about that. I guess that's one of the reasons why they don't make them anymore.
@@theblackschwab3561 they're plenty in the European and Asian countries.
@theblackschwab3561 they still make them, they just don't sell them in the USA anymore. The main reason why cabovers phased out here in the USA was because the length law has changed. In other words, the overall length limit was increased which eliminated the need for cabovers to pull trailers that exceeded the limit. Safety was another reason why companies stopped using cabovers.
@blueridgeocean yes especially over in the UK because their streets have tight corners that are too difficult for conventional cabs to maneuver on which is why cabovers are the only semis they have over there. These days the USA is one of a small number of countries that only has a small number of cabovers left besides fire trucks, garbage trucks, yard trucks, crane trucks, concrete pumper trucks, front discharge cement trucks, & non semi trucks which are those smaller size ones. Those are pretty much the only cabovers you see around.
@@KevinRichards-my5ojcab overs looks cool especially the 70s and 80’s I definitely wouldn’t want to spend all day in one
Some of these clips make me think of a parody of Dumb and Dumber "Bonehead Trucker Edition"
Flip flops are dangerous and don’t belong on a truck
Shippers & receivers that require closed shoes are usually enforcing an OSHA rule and don't want to get a fine from OSHA because some driver can't pay attention to the law.
Those are the same drivers that complain they have been there all day cause they don't know how to read the signs posted about it. Some places will keep you at the end of the line until you follow directions.
I did dollar general my atlas and trucker gps were useless that far out in the sticks.
Dollar General stores are located in some of the worst locations for truckers to get to. I live in a semi-rural area. Many store entrances are located on unmarked 2 lane roads off of other 2 lane roads.
Glad to hear you call out them bozos in the in the right lane that won't checkup to let the old boy by. We have all been hung out in the left lane..
If you don't have the speed to pass, then you shouldn't. If people in the right lane are expected to slow down, then everyone might as well try to pass each other at .5 - 1 mph faster. Just like people taking their breaks at the fuel island. Just let them do whatever. And this is why the industry has fallen. Everyone is more important, and everyone is a special snowflake.
I've noticed drivers are starting to do the 4 wheeler thing of speeding up when another truck gets on the left to pass. I think most people don't realize they're doing it. If someone's trying to pass me I don't mind backing off a tish. No skin off my nose to help out a fellow driver plus, for me, it's good not to have too competitive a mindset...bloodpressure. lol
PS: yep, drivers that sit in the fuel lanes need a kick in the butt.
When I drove, I had 4 sets of shoes. Regular shoes for everyday, safety toe shoes for special places (e.g. paper mills), running shoes for exercise, and water shoes for the showers.
I live in Kentucky out in the country and there is some dollar general stores that’s a tight turn
been to a couple like that very sus working the trailer in especially with a small parking lot on a busy day
The shortage of truckers has ushered in the end of the professional truck driver. They will give anyone a CDL
It's DG's own doing...😵💫🥛🫡
Shame on the mess!
That's exactly what dollar general is doing, putting stores any and everywhere trucks shouldn't be. Some stores are new, no gps can help you and not even Google maps. Drivers don't know what to expect until they arrive....
They literally put some of those Dollar Generals in the middle of nowhere may as well drive a logging truck.
That's why I only get my Lincoln logs from dollar store!
i certainly agree with your position on flip-flops but I wish you would talk about the safety aspect in an industrial environment.
You sure...got that right...🤯🇺🇲🦅

I will bet you money that that bag smells like diapers.
It's a flip flop trip mine.
Hey, i’m gonna hit that dad gum like button this time for sure! And I hope you’re on the ballot this November, cuz I like your positions on flip flops (not while working) and hours-of-service regulations (we don’t need the government telling us when we’re tired; we can just pull off the highway when we’re tired and get some rest). God bless you and God bless America.
Bravo! Love the flip flop commentary.
Right on the money.
Flat rule, no PPE, no service, no access.
I've been on a fair number of sites here that actually enforce the rules.
I appreciate you ike hilarious as always 😂
My sneakers might as well be slippers with how they're broken in. Takes almost no effort to wear and doesn't slip off all the time.
Flip flops otoh are unwieldy and disgusting.
😂 YOU RIGHT ABOUT A DRAG RACE!!
3:20
He hit that, whole trailer squashed down
They call that black trash bag a mystery bag...😂
No mystery. You can smell that video.
3:00 Nashville Crashville where I-40, I-65, I-24 converge into a clusterball vortex of braking and lane swapping. It was about to clog up anyway so don't sweat this one driver. He is about to come up on 3 lanes that are the 3 interstates merged together and then concrete trucks enter the right lane doing 25mph. A bunch of mayors from the region got together to evaluate the situation years ago. I bet they fix it really soon.
Doubtfully, that's why I found a bypass for Nashville
When i was OTR...the only place I wore my flip flops was at one of my companies terminals.
Driving a straight truck now local..home at night and weekends off
I was at the Loves in Toomsuba, MS Monday did a walk around my equipment prior to heading out seen a pile of 💩 in the parking spot beside me!! Gross just Gross
The Flip Flop Soap Box... I completely agree and endorse this video.
I've said this before: They lose a toe or two, they will then see the importance of the proper footwear...
That freightliner at 5:39, thats a pretty new truck to be that full of garbage.
Good night!😮
Not a drag race it's a turtle race
"Snail" drag racin'
I drove for the oil field and it was chemical resistant, water proof steel toe boots only and years of flat bed you can't wear flip flobs there too. And as nasty as the truck stops are these days Wearing flip flops would be a health risk.
Tiny Time Tony... flipping flapping flopers are STRONG... they ain't leaving...just like toe jam football...🚫👡🥾
Do he want spinal cracker? Do he got monkey finger? He shoot Coca Cola?
To answer the questions about Dollar general... Yes they do put them on top of mountains in the middle of nowhere and in the middle of the woods. I hauled freight for them for 6 months. I will never go back... Way too many sketchy areas and roads that trucks should not be on just to get to these stores without alternate routes.
Aldi is the same way. Some store is in a shopping plaza, with tons of curbs, trees to make it beautiful. A daycab with 53 ft trailer can just barely make it. Forget about a sleeper. Walmart doesn't build there because it's too small, so Aldi swoops in.
You've got my vote for President Ike
No flip flops. Act professional!
I came home from work one night and Dollar General and Star Bucks had opened up a store in my living room.
That box truck looks like it's on i27 🤠
Down here in Aussieland, truckers at shipper receivers must wear work boots, meaning steel capped or composite capped boots. They also must wear hi vis vests and in some places a hard hat. No exceptions.
One driver recording another while traveling down the road could be as simple as swivelling the dash cam to catch the action. Let's not assume that the driver is doing something illegal.
Wow Karl's transport of Antigo Wisconsin. That's a rare one😊
Mostly it's a safety issue. That's why you see the no open toe shoe signs!
Every time I watch these videos I thank God I no longer drive a truck. The stupidity is out of control.
I agree 100%👍👍
looks like the guy with the red flip flops is shaking farts out of his shorts lol
Yea there's plenty dollar generals in the woods
I watch these videos to make sure no one is posting me 😂
They won't learn until their toes get broken from lack of protection.
They will put a dollar general anywhere that it will fit, I deliver to one that has a barn across the street in a town of 50 people. So glad we (my company) has box trucks for our DG accounts
I'm glad I got out of trucking a long time ago. Some scary shit going on nowadays.
Yes they seem to be putting Dollar General and Family dollar stores in the middle of nowhere. For example where I live in southwest Virginia they have them on crooked two lane roads. On the side of a freaking mountain road in Haysi Virginia among other bad locations in southern and central Appalachian Mountains. Love the videos.
If Ike had a foot fetish his tshirt would read “real truckers wear flip flops cus they’re sexy”
People don't know what a fetish is.
I wear slides while I drive because it’s comfortable 🤷♂️
You'd be surprised where they cram a dollar general
To answer your question about placement of Dollar Generals, yes they have been popping up in the absolute middle of no where, there’s been 4 here in the past two years that have popped up around us where it use to be cow pastures
Yes, Dollar general is opening up lots of new stores and they are in a lot of country areas on rural streets far from the main thoroughfares. This is causing a major problem because not all the roads to some of the locations are 18 wheeler friendly.
I will agree Dollar General has some stores in very odd places. I delivered for them through Schneider trucking
What happened to dollar general is they are using there private fleet more and more and trying to push the actual trucking company’s out
Yeah and not paying them worth af
maybe a vid as to what can happen to ones feet (foot) when an accident(?) occurs on a shipping/warehouse floor when you don't wear appropiate footwear ....
as a dollar general werner driver seeing people in flip flop at my DC grinds a special gear especially when they are quarter loaded with a baby load in flip flops verifying at the guard shack and climb into the trailer with them 🙃
At 5:28, that looks like TX to me. I could be wrong, but that looks like it might be I-27/Hwy 87. I would know, I drove that stretch many times running routes out of Lubbock.
Ike , To Answer Your Question About The Location Of These Dollar General Stores , Yes They Are Building These Dollar General Stores Anywhere They Can Put Them At Especially Off A Highway , God Bless Those Dollar General Drivers Because Me ( Myself ) I Wouldn't Do It 🤦♂️😂
Be careful wearing flip flops in the truck. You could get hung up on the turn signal!!!!
It's nice to see crocs and slides didn't make the hate list .
@2:10 That was the delivery load for the "Bag O' Glass" toy company (you have to be at least a certain age to get that)
That glatbedder had granite
if there's any rookies that happen to see this: if you need to make a sharp turn, pull the trailer wheels as far to the opposite side of the curb as you can get. Farthest away from the direction you're turning. Then drive up a little past the intersection. Then, back up nose into the turn just til you'll barely clear. that way you've eliminated trailer swing as much as possible. You can also use the curbs. Put those wheels on the curb so you dont destroy grass. I hope this helps someone. I thought I was good til I bought my 389 with air ride.
That 12'6" bridge is not far from where I live
