My name is Ike Stephens. I started driving a truck in 2002. I started making trucking videos in 2010. I've done everything from VLOGs to parodies.
Trucker Rag Chew | Trucker Rag Chew is mixture of Vlog, music, and opinion. It is one of the original VLOG style videos series in the RUclips Trucking genre.
Bonehead Truckers® | I am one of only people who will call out the bad things truckers do to ruin this industry. Bonehead Truckers® exposes the bad behavior of truck drivers.
Trucking Advice | Mixed is into the normal videos, I have been known to put out an occasional educational video. Even though I still have a lot to learn myself, the things I do talk about is stuff I've learned the hard way.
RUclips Live | I was one of the original content creators to do live content. I started on Ustream and when RUclips started the live interactive content, I was one of the first to participate.

I was at the Loves in Bordentown NJ recently and a bonehead speak-a-no blocked the scale. The cashier refused to give him his scale ticket until he moved and parked in the lot. Good for her, more stores should follow suit.
Speak a no lmfao
They tell you go park and come in.
The cashiers at that Loves don't play. I hear them all the time on the intercom threatening to have trucks towed who are not properly parked
That place is usually a mess anyway!
It's not that the cashier refused. It's my understanding that as long there is weight on the scale platform, it is designed not to print the scale ticket.
That tunnel clip was in Norfolk VA. Now keep in mind- There's multiple overheight sensors, at least 5 clearance warning signs with yellow flashing lights, and a truck pulloff area that you gotta pass by before you go into that tunnel, so that guy had warnings all day long that he deliberately ignored. From the look of the damage to the ceiling, he went in there full-speed too. Unreal
We got a train bridge like that where I live multiple signs, flashing lights chains hanging down yet it still gets hit multiple times a year😂
Likely he caused 10's of $1000's of damage, caused a massive traffic jam, and got shamed on BHT. I worked for a government agency (PANYNJ) that operated tunnels (Lincoln & Holland) and saw claims and lawsuits filed against truck operators who went into them with over height loads for damages done to the tunnels. Rip out ceiling tiles, control lights on the ceiling, the costs for yanking the truck out, police OT.
It's been 25 yrs since I hauled flatbed, but hauling forklifts, small backhoes, Bobcats, paid real good, I'd spend extra care making sure the product got to the customer unharmed to keep getting the good freight. Guess not today.
@@leonb2637 Oh absolutely, I KNOW that shit was expensive as hell. Besides paying for whatever damage he did to the tunnel, you also gotta consider how much it's gonna cost on his end of things. Damaged/destroyed probably $200,000+ worth of brand new forklifts, damaged his trailer, gotta pay for the all the wrecker cleanup/recovery work, lost profits from being stuck in the shop after... If it was a smaller company, it could easily end up being curtains for them when alls said and done.
I set off one of those detectors one night with an empty trailer so they’re sensitive for sure.
They caught a trucker starring at a orange juice bottle because it said concentrate😂
Got anymore dad jokes?!?😂😂😂
But he had ADD so he could only stare at it for a few seconds.
That’s an old blond joke
That's if they could read it.
Classic
We used to go to the truck stops for steel toad boots. Now we go to the truck stops for stuffed bears and flip flops
Dafuq is a "toad" boot?
🐸 🦶
And beads for your seats.... dunno how that's supposed to be comfortable 😕
@ColinDefinitelyNotPooping it's a Nintendo thing 😂
@@GrizzlyOldFart😂 pretty sure his auto correct took a shit
Why is this "super trucker" more concerned with what footwear the other driver is wearing than that check engine light on his own dash???
Love when four wheelers always talk like they are so smart 😂
I used to work at Yan Feng car interiors in Harrison township Michigan, the door that goes to shipping and receiving has a sign that says "no flip flops, this is a place of business"
54-62 cents per mile and 5 days vacation in 6 months NO THANK YOU. Plenty of Swift drivers available for that pay
Drinking coffee, eating doughnuts and watching BHT, a good way to enjoy a Sunday morning.
Mine is coffee, and a bowl of fruit, and BHT. No better way to start Sunday!
I got you all beat bacon eggs and hash browns.
Doughnut?
Try an Apple Fritter, you're worth it.
@@happydays8171 I love those things
Having breakfast and coffee here also. And PRAYING Ike didn’t show anything gross.
In a video a long time ago on this channel a yard driver flipped a trailer over going backward. My explanation as a former yard driver included the teeter totter effect of a fifth wheel as you approach 90 degrees while backing up. In the first video in this post you see that teeter totter effect plainly.
Hasn't happened to me but I've seen it happen to other drivers... When you try to back up at a near-90 with a spread-axle flatbed and you're loaded heavy, the center of gravity will cause a weight imbalance and you'll flip right over on your side if you're not careful.. ESPECIALLY with something high-centered like a coil.
The last time I saw a 5th wheel teeter like that was on a 5 ton army truck with the 5th wheel wedges in the out position.
That job you are telling driver's to check out from up to 65 cents a mile. We'll back in the 70s I drove for 95 cents a mile.
As a company driver? What was the company, what did you haul?
It seems like a lot of companies pay 50 to 65 cpm. I've seen an ad recently where they hire for 45 cpm and wanted 4 years experience.
54-62 cents a mile ? Do I have to talk like some dumb ignorant hillbilly as well ?
The good thing about Dollar General is that they are everywhere, but the bad news is that they are everywhere. Traveling in my van, I've come across some in which I've been, "How is a truck supposed to not only get to this one, but I don't see how the truck will maneuver to unload."
As a guy whose family were truckers I think the same thing everytime I see a DG as well
I'm a trucker myself and I live out in the Appalachians of rural Tennessee. I've come across a few DGs where I've had to stop and wonder "how in gods name do you even get a semi truck in here to deliver????"
@@Cheeto_Fingerz 👍👍🇺🇸
Whats worse is the ones in towns and cities like I see here in Northern NJ.
@@Cheeto_Fingerz Astro glide help to get big things in tight spots, but on a serious note ya I know what you mean
Some receivers will make you go back to your truck and put real shoes on. Saw them do that to a special needs driver before they let him in the post office DC. Tried to say his crocs were his only shoes. Magically found his shoes when told he would have to leave if he didn't change.
They need to teach that dog not to park oh scales! Lol
This past Friday at CalgonCarbon in Mississippi, driver went onto the docks in a pair of crocs and busted his @$$ . It was raining. Wet cement. Landed on that elbow. Ambulance was called. Sure he shattered it.
The sigh should say "you wouldn't wear work boots while you're poolside so don't wear flip flops at a place of business"😂
Whenever I pass another rig, I make sure I can see both of his headlights (or his entire front grille) in my passenger side mirror before I come back over on him to complete the pass. Yesterday alone I had half a dozen big time twuck driberz come over on me way too soon. All I could see in front of me was their friggin' barn doors. Shame on the mess.
It's mind blowing how bad it is out here. These were not made for just anyone to drive.
Amen To That !!! 💯👍👍🚚
Yesterday I saw a Werner truck cut across three lanes of traffic to just barely make his exist. Bad drivers never miss their exit.
Voof_ I’m pretty sure W.E.R.N.E.R. Stands for ‘we employ ®etards no experience required’
I Saw A Old Dominion Set Of Triple Pup Trailers Do That US 218 In Cedar Rapids , Iowa Cut Me Off On Trying To Get The Exit He Needed To Get Off On , It's Damn Wild Out Here 4 Sure
The tunnel job. A foreigner who can't read or speak English perhaps. Has a cdl but shouldn't, according to our US laws.
They going to need pictogram signs soon
He probably voted 5 times in the last election.
Good Sunday morning. Ike on time today. IKE for President
Used to be when a truck passed you, you flashed your headlights when they were clear. Then the passing truck would flash his clearance lights to say thank you. What happened to those days?
Half of the shitheads out there are too ignorant to use a turn signal when they change lanes
Maybe you're doing it in broad daylight when there's no need or at night when you should be interrupting your lights not flashing.
Some university educated fruitcake decided that spring loaded kill switch for lights are only for deaf drivers ( paid option too) & it's now better to blind others with brights is better.
Long Gone Sir , That Don't Exist Anymore Even In The Daytime
Those days are 20 , 30 years ago. The mentality of the modern day trucker is sad.
I laughed when I heard you say, where they gettin their CDL's......
We called them Mumbai licenses... one ride with them and you know why........
The flat bedder with the forklifts is not a Bonehead Trucker, they are Certified Tunnel Integrity Testers.
The tunnel checks out fine. The integrity of the driver is questionable..
the idiot broker who decided to put it on a flatbed instead of a step deck is also partially to blame
Sand hog freight dog
We are getting these drivers from Russia,China, and North Africa. They drive like they're still driving over there
You don't have drivers from India down there in murica? They are prob half the drivers in Canada now and some of them really shouldn't be driving a golf cart let alone a semi
Part of being a professional driver is knowing heights weight and width also knowing what and what not to expect from your rig and I agree if you ain’t at the beach or pool lose the flip flops
The biggest bonehead in this video is Reed transport having the audacity to act like 5 days off every 6 months and 54cpm is a good deal
To me, Federal OSHA and State DOT's should mandate that all commercial vehicle drivers must wear full shoes, not 'flip-flops', sandals or 'crocks'. How can you safely walk or hit the brakes in an emergency with those not-shoes. I don't drive a truck and I would never wear non-shoes footwear when driving at any time.
The Motor Carrier Safety handbook had a requirement that stated you had to wear hard sole shoes/boots. When was it removed?
The over height flatbedder with the forklifts that got stuck in the tunnels trucking company name is ATM so they should be used to shelling out cash…💸
This Time They Will Dishing Out Lots Of 💵 💵 💵 💵
Mt ATM is always cashless.
Buc'ees is smart!
Seems to me that a tug test is a helluva lot more convenient than the crank of shame!
Tunnel is in norfolk
Truck was wedged in tunnel. Adults couldn't figure it out,but a little girl said why don't they let the air out of the tires? Wisdom from the mouth of babes😂
The tunnel was in Norfolk
You gotta love the snieder driver talking bad about the crocs with his engine light all lit up.
Ps on bucee’s everytime I pass one I make sure my jug of piss hits there fence
No flip flops containing immigrants were harmed during the making of this video 😅
Glad you’re back doing reels on Sunday instead of whiners at the truck stop.
That tunnel looks like the Virginia submarine back up must have been INSANE
Clearance signs are easy to see when your windshield isn't half covered by an ignorant looking visor.
How did he get that far into the tunnel before he hit the top I thought it would have got stuck or hit before he got inside the tunnel
He left drag marks on the ceiling where he entered the tunnel.
The legend says that he is still stuck there.
God forbid you have to slow down for a truck that's been sitting there for however long for him to turn out
Slowing down just creates more problems. The guy behind you will get pissed and whip around you and plow into the guy pulling out. Ideally you clear the lane if you can see the guy trying to pull out
Just goes to show you, Just because you drive a super truckers rig, Don't mean you're a super trucker.
Wow, i remember it seemed like yesterday that you hit 100,000 subscribers.
The guy with the check engine light is a bonehead too. 😂
I’ll wear my flip flops in snow with a heavy winter coat.
The clip where the guy's doing the "crank of shame," well he's lucky he has that option in that situation. Drop a livestock trailer off like that, and I guess hope for a fork lift near by 😂
I was going to Manhattan one day back maybe 15 years ago using the Lincoln Tunnel and there were cops and highway crews all over. Carnage and debris in the tunnel. Some serious bonehead took a 13' 6" dry van through and didn't stop when he hit, he drug it through all the way to the NYC side and it was sitting in on the highway all ripped apart, door frame torn off and dragging on the ground, entire top of the trailer gone, and brand new appliances all mashed up hanging out of the trailer
Ike , From What I Heard That The Tunnel On 664 In The Hampton , Norfork Va Area , I Have Definitely Been Through That Tunnel & How That Driver Miss Those Warning Signs & Not See Them Is Just Unreal ... Wow 😱 !!!
As the saying goes, you can't fix stupid, but you sure can numb it with a 2×4
Good thing the water didn't start coming in on that tunnel!
$0.52 a mile is terrible, Hell I was paying my drivers that back in 1980's
CDL's now available in Cracker Jack boxes. Get yours today!
Dollar general does got it rough tiny spots btw glad I got out
Oh no! R&L caught, we do have some impatient drivers.
They aren't the sharpest arrows in the quiver....are they....lmfao
I came across a truck that had parked on the scale and walked inside. So I kindly drove his truck to the back of the parking area and parked it for him. I apologize though. I may have locked his keys in the truck. Oppppps 😂
When you stick a truck under an underpass it is real easy to unstick.
Just let 1/2 the air out of all the tires, that will give you a couple
of inches to back out.
!
Question. How do you refill them? All 18 of them. You don’t dare drive with half inflated tires -- ruins tires.
@@kathyyoung1774they make air lines that hook to the glad hands
Just let the air out of the tire and your Ace's, now just drive out lol
They got their CDL's at the Mafia station.
Dollar Tree
I remember when i was a kid i saw a truck stuck under a bridge ! there were police and wreckers and gapers everywhere trying to figure it all out ! I told one of the responders why dont you just let the air out the tires ? He looked at me and said thats genius ! They let the air out and freed it up and out ! Got a free mountian dew and a pat on da back ! 😛
Change your socks every day and shoes won't smell.
Wash your feet, too
5:13 I’m sure they had their blinker on for a while and the dashcam 4 wheeler sped up and cut the video to where it looks like the truck is in the wrong
For the scale driver sometimes the cashier won't pay attention to it I've had to do that a few times and wave someone down to get the dam scale to work no sense In pulling off if no ones there sit for 20mins pressing thr button or on the app and no response next drivers gonna do the same
6:14 dont forget a broker wanted to put it on a flatbed instead of a step deck or a low pro step deck. someone else is also to blame for this
I got ORDERED once to pick up a flatbed load with my 53’ dry van. The receiver didn’t have a dock at all and had a helluva time getting the freight out of my trailer. Hey, wasn’t my fault. I thought it was stupid, too.
Keep the weekend videos. It's fun to watch.
I’m writing in Ike for prez!
We're truck drivers, not readers! 😂😂😂
Steering wheel holders, not truck drivers. Big difference.
I preferably enjoy gittin my CDL's at Western Auto. Signed Richard Cranium
Where they get these drivers there coming across the borders and the federal government is got to find jobs for them thats why the driver
Licenses have Spanish section on them
Loop hole in federal law the big companies use to manipulate american only jobs.
They buy more trucks than they can get drivers for causing a false ‘driver shortage’ that allows them to hire foreigners, and still able to write off all new and late model equipment sitting idle on corporate taxes!
Between the modern dayers and the funky foreigners its getting bad out here
On the subject of Arkansas..I have a huge crush on Tia..cried when she didn't make the final cut on The Bachelor. Let's get Lionel Richie to sing that tune "All Day Long."
Do you need a brain to actually drive. Not here. bonehead truckers ROCK ON BROTHERS!
A friend of mine works over in Pace Fla. as a trainer, he drove OTR for 40 years.
2:20 -- Where them family trees grow straight??
I thought those trees had 'built-in basketball hoops.'
The people working at the truck stop should refuse to give drivers their scale ticket until they pull off the scale and park.
I had a dollar general one night go passed the giant sign that said only bob tail parking. I said you didn't see the giant sign. Got him backed up and to think they are amazing getting into these crazy stores. I got my shirt do you trucker bro. And remember some people say Louisville different
Born and raised in the carnival business 5 generations and I learned to drive a truck when I was 14 and spent the first year spotting loads and I drove with a CO driver for another year before my dad and uncle let me out on my own drove for 51 years no accidents and no equipment damaged
Moved carnival equipment in the summer and freight in the winter
Back then you were required to wear steel toed shoes and you had to have white sheets in the bunk the bingo card had all the states and you would get a stamp for the states you you paid your fuel tax in and the driver's license was a chauffers license
There were no CB Rambo's and idiots were weeded out in the first year
Then came deregulation and trucking business went to hell now anybody who can afford truck driving school gets a license
I will say this about Arkansas. They will help if they can, I had a truck route in a small town (Matthews) with a railroad crossing and got hung up, was able to back off the tracks when I did, I got on some spongy stuff and was stuck a guy in a pickup pulled me free.
Morning Ike keep it coming brother
So the idiot in the tunnel obviously doesn't know his deck height to have to tall of a load and probably not acutely measuring his load height and ignoring the flashing lights and warnings about being to tall, will be in trouble for hitting the tunnel but also be in trouble for over height and not properly having the right signage or permits, I wouldn't want to be him
That first video 😂
Ike! You pronounce Louisville correctly!!!!!
Ike, you may know this already. Trucking is a low skilled career. 6 months or less in school & training.
Actually it takes 2 years of school and training minimum. And other 2 years solo to learn this industry.
"Speak a no English" drivers won't last long. Only in America, English comes first, all other languages comes second.
By the way, the 14 consecutive hours rule puts every trucker on a time clock system.
That why we see drivers trying to race the clock and almost hitting other vehicles when passing.
3:23 freightshaker Cashitia with a check engine light on. 😂😂😂
CEL is on in fucking everything these days except old shit with three sensors
Ya get what you pay for and for what they pay these drivers dont look too bad.
Buckees are great, they keep RVs away from truck stops
Wow 54-62 cents a mile? Lol it's this 2005?
80's
@@GaryMay-xm6vd 98 I started at 25 cents a mile
Hello Ike. I had an 💡, what if you made some bumper stickers that says i am an inconsiderate bonehead trucker and drivers put them on when in a truckstop apply a sticker to trucks doing dumb stuff in a truckstop? 😂
Well, drivers should be able to speak, read, and actually drive, but instead companies will hire anyone
2:00 as a fellow Arkansan I can agree 😂
Mercy, Heaven help us----------------------
i dont care if a guy wears flip flops but soomer or later theyll learn why to wear boots
Im finding out the dmv lower the standards to get a cdl because of the shortage of drivers instead of over 100 parts to learn on pretrip they only need to learn 65 parts no coupling system backing they lower the test as well because people couldn't pass in Missouri so all standard was lowered we in trouble
DAMN!
you keep your devil diamonds in ark we still almost heaven in wv
54 to 62 cents a mile for company driver but what is the pay at the stop? You could be there for hours and hours getting loaded or unloaded. Plus does driver handle the freight ? 2 weeks vacation is standard. No huge benefit there.
1:48 better be careful in Louisville Ike, i hear forbes ranked it as the seventh worst city to drive in
You ask “ where do they get these guys?” Well trucking companies target trailer park communities in rural Tennessee, homeless encampments, moon shiner shacks, half way houses and Texas ghettos And they recruit them and promise them a better life! 🇺🇸🥴
I've said it before, I'll say it again. Prime is out to take the title from Swift!
I maybe with a mega carrier for 8 months now, definitely wear my jeans and boots anywhere now, I may drive an automatic(sadly) which makes me feel like a steering wheel holder (which I kinda am sadly) but I FOR SURE use common sense and haven’t hit shit nor am I planning on it
