I feel sorry for you brother and glad that you are okay. I was also a ex driver for swift but only lasted for 5 months and it's my first OTR driving career and first company. Got into an accident last Jan 7 of this year due to snow crash. Truck slips and lost control and trailer jackknife blocking the I-15 highway (no other vehicles involve). Was on my way to Payson, UT to deliver empty plastic bottles. After the accident. Swift fired me on the spot. I was so hopeless and helpless because I was in the middle of nowhere location. Tried to call swift to ask not to abandon me and send me a driver that can pick me up just to get me to a closest town or city with transportation but swift just ignored (they are so heartless) .I was totally abandoned by swift and staying in a motel for 3 days paying bills out of my pocket while figuring out how to get home safely. When I left the motel at 9am I was asking for vehicles help but none doesn't want to help or give a ride. With the help of a good samaritan bus driver I managed to get to St. Georger UT and took the bus there. It was already 9pm evening when I found the person that will solve my sufferings and problem. (Thank you that man I owed him my life) In this experience I got traumatized here and I promised myself I will not go back in the trucking industry anymore. Now I will be starting to do city job that deals with low income earner and retirees. Wish you the best luck brother. Never lose hope ❤❤❤

That is so scary, so glad you are okay and safe. My uncle a few years back was in a trucking accident he never showed up to his destination and my aunt couldn’t get ahold of him and had to call hospitals in every town till she found him. He was thrown through the windshield and had to be in the hospital for months but healed and was okay 100% thank god it was so hard they had to move to that town and leave the house they were renting at the time. Definitely not worth your it at all. Again so glad u are safe and home now.

2nd year of trucking, bobtailing in heavy rain Chillicothe, Ohio on way to see a chik. Slid thru a yellow light that turned red, spun around and layed it over. Didnt get fired. Got a wreckless driving ticket. I learned that bobtail can be more dangerous than being hooked to a trailer that holds ur truck down. 29 yrs later still rolling. Kp trucking, driver. U can do this. Swift not it tho. Chk other companies. Bad weather, especially snow, drop speed or just park. Even if local, its $ out there for u. Glad u made it out ok. Stay up bruh

I want to share with you, when you have severe weather warning like the one just had , should reduce your speed to 1/3 and come to complete stop. Because of ice on the road can be dangerous.
I also want to share that you don't have to give up driving after what happened, I experienced similar situations but didn't give up due to something like this or other that you have no control over. Like Timex says " You take a licking and keep on ticking.".

You did not use your head after the accident. You was supposed to get in an ambulance and go to the hospital and file a workers compensation claim. I been trucking for 4 years professionally and I truly analyzed this video from before you crashed until after. You paused and edit it out when you were on a local road and then you crashed on the intrastate. You should of reduced your speed . You have NO trailer nor any weight except your tractor and you have a higher center of gravity. On slick icy roads you should always reduce your speed . You are the captain of your ship and are 100% responsible for the operation of that tractor. Im glad you walked out of there alive with all your limbs intact but man this was 1000% your fault. I wish you luck in your future endeavors but you cant blame the company big dog. I understand SWIFT aint the best but this was an avoidable accident

Swift drivers are notorious for self-inflicted wrecks. You were clearly driving way too fast for the conditions even though the video edit claimed reduced speed. A simple test to roll the window down and feel the front side of the outside driver mirror would have returned ice.

You made several mistakes that led to your dismissal:
1-Filming while driving and even in severe weather conditions
2-Filming the accident and uploading it to the internet is prohibited by insurance policy.
3-In that condition in which you were driving and filming, I saw your speedometer, you were in a rural area and your speed was 45 mph !, You are with a heavy vehicle on the road, that is unforgivable.
