Welcome to the life of OTR trucking. Your doing good job. Take your time and hurry up and wait. Safe travels driver 🙏
Thank you very much my friend 🙏 lol, Hurry up and wait! You definitely have to do a lot of both in trucking!
When I’m going to a new yard that I’m not familiar with I like to check on google earth & street view, sometimes it helps to see where to go. Great video Dillon. 👍🏽
That's a great idea, Mike! I could definitely see how that would be helpful. It's good to hear from you my friend! Thank you for the tips and you be safe out there 🙏
Good to hear from you. God bless!
God bless you as well Jason and thank you for the kind words my friend 🙏
another valuable upload. thank you
It's my pleasure Jaykub! Thank you 🙏
I want to see the hiccups too ... keeps it real. God bless you sir!!
If everyone was as polite as you are the world would be a better place👍
Many blessings to you and your family.
May God bless you and your loved ones as well my friend 🙏
I love the little dance at 40:22. Hahaha Good stuff. Glad you are well.
Thank you very much Mike 🙏 It's great to hear from you my friend! I am looking at those gloves now and about to go put them to use 👍 thank you so much for them, they are great!
I just got a call from Roehl today. Hopefully they accept me. Praying
I wish you the best with it as well Jason and keep praying about it my friend! Let us know how it goes if you don't mind 👍
@tedhill7017did you get the job?!
How did it go Jason?
I heard they got inward facing cams. If that is the case RUN! Any company that has an inward facing cam is a horrible company. Freedom of the road is great if you're built for it. When there's an inward cam there is no freedom of the road. You're like a prisoner in a cell.
@@SC68170 not really. its safety. if the camera activates, youre a bad and unsafe driver
7:02 "look at these trees!... I'm really enjoying that." It puts a smile on my face to see how grateful you are, for seemingly everything. Psalm 118: 24. Have a great weekend with that family of yours! -Dave in Cincy.
Thank you so much for all of your kind comments 🙏 that means a lot to me. I enjoy the simple things in life that God has blessed us with and I'm happy to see spring again! I hope you have a blessed one as well and it good to hear from you my friend! God bless
My brother always ALWAYS look and get a visual on that kingpin lock
That's good advice 👍 It seems like I do remember an instructor telling me that the release arm was in, but his trailer wasn't locked in. That would be horrible for it to come loose on the road!
You're doing great. Love your family.
Thank you very much 🙏 they are a blessing for sure and I'm very thankful for them!
Great video!! Was just at the roehl banquet in marshfield was great. My driver trainer got nominated for owner operator of the year. Heading south this monday.
I love you Brother! You are a good person!
Thank you very much my friend 🙏 I love you too and may God bless you
I'm finally on my load home. I haven't been home since I started with this company in February.
Excellent video. Thanks for posting and safe travels.
Thank you very much 🙏
Thank You, good job confirming the details 😊
Really consider this company, I got my CDL back in 2019 but never used it. Need a refresher course having a hard time finding a company for that. This was an awesome video, Godspeed man.
Thank you very much my friend 🙏 I appreciate the kind words a lot and I wish you the best with the company that you choose. May God bless you as well 🙏
Good to see its all going well for you Dillon. Yoi are a great job my friend 👏. Trying to find where the place you are going can definitely get frustrating especially at night. Love it brother keep it going. Wishing you and the family the best.....👍🤙
21yo just started with Roehl waiting to go with my trainer this week! I enjoy watching your videos thinking on making the same kind of videos! from Indy
Great info on first day of truck driving . I’m hoping I’ll be able start CDL training next month
Yes that's polk, in KY we grew up on it. Elvis had a song about it called polk salad Annie.
This is so kool
Informative video! These videos help alot. I looked at Roehl, but they didn't have any routes in my area for new grads. I got an application in to Epes, we will see what happens!
good afternoon my friend to make thing easier on yourself get a notepad and wright it all down the info from the work flow
That's a good tip, my trainer did that as well 👍
If you have any questions or tips lmk I like helping out other Roehl drive I been with them for all most a year
Was that place by chance called Owens-Illinois I recognize the pallets of glass. I work at O-I in PA. EDIt- Oh yeah thats an O-I I can hear the ol hot end churning out that glass baybeee. The first place that you got canceled.
Ok. Thanks for the responses. Been looking at a few different companies but I think I’d like Roehl better. Question though. Don’t think I’ve been in A semi since I was 9 or 10. I’m 6’8. How comfortable/uncomfortable would I be in the bunks? My kids are over 18, I’m single, just wanting to go out on the road and be out, stay out.
I'm only seeing my comments. I don't know what's going on
Did you hear back from Roehl?
40:22 😂😂😂
Victory dance lol
@@bluegrassoutdoors yesssirr
Well i started week 2 today all is going good i think hopefully the backing will get better for me God willing i will pass my test next week
I wish you the best with it my friend! I'm still working on my backing. It just takes time. Let me know how it goes if you don't mind 👍 Are you on week 2 of the GYCDL program?
@@bluegrassoutdoors yes week 2 GYCDL JUST PASSD MY PRE CDL TEST SO I THINK I WILL BE GOOD FOR 1230 NEXT WEDNESDAY
@@bluegrassoutdoors starting week 3 test on Wednesday at 1230 God willing everything will be great
@@bluegrassoutdoors I passed I got my CLASS A GOD IS GOOD
@Pedro-fv2lv amen to that! That's awesome Pedro 🙏 that's a very rewarding moment for sure! A thing achieved in your trucking journey 👍
Is there anyway you can put ur sit down a little is hard to see when but other then that I like ur videos keep up the good work
When she said “Slide your tandems” what did she mean?
I’m thinking about doing the GYCDL with Roehl
@@MrHospiTALLity34 your tandems are your rear axels. They want those slid to the back when you are on the dock so that they support the weight of the forklift when they load/unload your trailer. I wish you the best with it 👍
Ohhh. How hard is it to move them ? Or move them BACK after it’s loaded to drive
@@MrHospiTALLity34 it's very easy. You just unlock the pin on them and pull your truck forward. And do the opposite to move them back to the front.
Hey bud just curious to know how the hiring process went and Cdl training! Great video by the way !!
Thank you very much for the kind comment 🙏 The hiring process went good. It was mainly through email and over the phone and then I had to get my commercial learners permit and do a DOT physical. Cdl training lasted around 3 weeks and I have videos on the process if you're interested! Riding with my trainer as well 👍
😎👌
Comments wont work for me
She goes "They're notorious for mixing numbers" Then right after a totally random trucker goes "They got my numbers wrong"😂😂😂 i think it's the place, not Roehl
With all of the wasted time are you getting any pay for the time you spent on the canceled load? And the drive time also involved in the travel time both ways?
You do get paid for the miles. But from what I understand, you don't get paid for sitting on the dock until you've been there for 2 hours.
I really want to get my cdl with Rhoel but I don’t have my own vehicle as of now……do they provide transportation to training? and how much would it cost?
They do not provide transportation to the terminal as far as I know. It does not cost you anything up front for the gycdl program. You have to get your permit and a dot physical first which does cost some money. I have videos on that as well. But if you break their contract for 120,000 miles you do owe them $7000. As long as you complete the contract you don't owe them anything for the gycdl program.
You never wear gloves when you pump in your gas
No
How fast are the trucks and do it come with fridge and microwave etc
@@Woods2water5000 governed at 65 mph and no fridge or microwave provided.
@@bluegrassoutdoors OK I see you have a spot for fridge 😊
@@Woods2water5000 yes, and a microwave. You just have to provide them 👍
Did you say vegetarian? BLASPHEMY!! Lol. I wont hold it against you but animal protein is the absolute best form of protein. That’s just a fact. Good luck though.
😂 I didn't think I would ever say I was gonna try a vegetarian diet myself lol. I've always been a meat lover. I've tried so many different diets, including carnivore where I only ate meat. But I got so sick of meat and craved greens and fruits. I'm gonna experiment with it and see how it goes. I feel hopeful about it. I'm around 273 now. I'd like to get down to 230-240 and maintain around there if can. It's a huge change for me, that's for sure! It's always good to hear from you. You will be starting the gycdl program soon, right? I hated being away from my family during that time period too but it went by so fast!
Hey brother how are you liking it I applied At roehl
I'm not with that company anymore. It's a good starter company though 👍
@@bluegrassoutdoors that's cool man I got take permit test got halvor on one than just applied At roehl
Bro one question does roelh actually have ride to the training yard, and they cover the travel and logging?
I had to pay for my transportation to the roehl terminal. Once you get there, they have a ride for the first day, but after that, you have to find someone in your group to ride with unless you have your vehicle with you, but they do cover the hotel and your breakfast and lunch. I have some videos on the whole process if you’re interested 👍
@@bluegrassoutdoors thank bro, they accept my application already like a month ago I talked to the recruiter i said give me some time let’s think about it..
@obob3555 you're very welcome my friend! I wish you the best with it. God bless
Do you still get paid for canceled loads?
You get paid per mile and then for sitting on the dock if its over 2 hours.
What do you use to record?
My phone and a gopro now as well.
@@bluegrassoutdoors what do you use to mount the gopro?
@@zakarycavenaugh9667 when I ordered the GoPro, it came with a bag with a lot of different mounts and attachments. I use some of the ones that it came with. They are very handy!
I didn't like running for those guys they sent me out of the yard with bad front shocks no ac and a nail in one of my drive tires
