My sweet beloved wife passed on three years ago in August 2021....every lyric of any song that references my desire to be with her touches me....at least she's still in my dreams where I can hear her voice...I understand. It hasn't gotten any easier with time.
This is a song that reminds me of the darkest period in my life, more than 50 years ago. It still brings tears to my eyes, because it takes me into the experience of how I felt and how I was then. It is the young adult that is still inside of me. Loaded with cocaine, other drugs and alcohol just to fight a devastating loneliness. It is so weird what music can do. Like Satie’s Gnossienne, that has the same effect on me. It brings a me back that I pity and can embrace now. This music is forever connected to that young woman.
Bravo - you know this song was released Sept 12, 1975 - I was a very young 25 and now I'm smelling 70. It's like I went to this party and when I woke up - oh well nice to see the young generation still enjoying the classics - they will go on forever. You both gave an excellent performance - thank you.

I'm a "Boomer" (64), so like many my age who've been relegated to staying home, I've been spending the majority of my time on RUclips and the majority of that listening to music. The next day it's a different journey, down different streets, but the destination is always the same...inner peace. Yesterday, the RUclips algorithm gods suggested "Reina del Cid" "Who?? Ok, I'll bite", I said. All I'll say is some 28 hours later I've listened to about 25 of their covers, followed them on Facebook, will join their Patreon page, and will wait with bated breathe for their streaming Bluegrass concert the end of this month. Their sound simply resonates within me in a way like nothing has recently. Such a pleasant surprise. Amazing talent!! Thank you!
As an over 50 years fan of Pink Floyd I've heard dozens and dozens of versions of this song by a lot of great musicians.

Beautiful.
@@karelbellic8480Muchas gracias.
Love you guys. And Toni plays the lead so well. Reina has the most "silky" voice I have ever heard. WOW! Just WOW!
Love this version of the song. They have both put themselves into the soul of the song. Only discovered these ladies a week ago and I am blown away. It is as if they are one.
🎸Together they rock 🎸
You know other than David Gilmour, I don't think I've heard a better rendition of " Wish You Were Here " Make Syd proud. You play it a touch faster than David but hey you have to put your own flare to it. Toni your picking is top notch. Thanks for the great tunes. Keep pickin and grinnin from Nashville, Tn.. God bless
At my 65 still enjoying this beauty.
Tks for the channel.
You both are AMAZING. The vocals. The playing. Toni's own style when she solos at the end. Amazing.
Loved it!!!!! Lost my 28 yo son to a car crash 2 yrs ago and play this song in his memory. Thank you for sharing. You both play very well. ☺
God bless Dan and God bless your son
May the music help you heal.
Listened to quite a few covers of this recently, and this one ranks on top so far.
Your voices are so clean and clear and perfectly suited - to the song and to each other.
Such awesome guitar playing and singing! This song by you too gets me emotionally. Thanks!
I did feel a lil jolt of musical joy as these two wonderful gifted ladies started to sing and play. Wow! Thank you both so much!
I just love this version and listen to it practically every day. Its simple but they just nailed it.
She has it. This rare vibe that penetrates your whole body and heart. And authenticity. Great lady.
Wow, what incredible musicians. So happy I found you two
The song always brings a tear to my eye.
the guitar work is so spot on I forgot I was listening to a cover. You two continue to amaze me. One of my favorite songs of all times and I love your smooth mellow voice. Brings a smile to my face every time
Beautiful, simple and pure, exactly as music is meant to be.
I thought Harvest Moon was my favorite cover by the two of you, but now I'm not so sure. Keep up the great work!
Yes! Harvest moon is beautiful.
Good morning ladies, love this song. Thanks so much for all the enjoyment you both bring to us all. Saw the Division Bell tour in the early 90's minus Roger Waters but saw him a couple years later at Starwood here near Nashville. Good times. There are many now in my life i wish were still here.
Makes me happy. Authentic voices and heartful interpretation. You’re inspiring my old fingers to learn something new.
I love it. Remind me when I was 4 to 5 years old...we had a lady in our neighborhood that babysitting most of the neighbor hood kids and how she is put it down for afternoon nap she playeda guitar and sing to us..to get us to fall asleep
Die hard Pink Floyd fan and this cover is absolutely fantastic. Thank you!
Reina's strumming and picking is almost flawless on this tune so is Toni's playing, Well Done!!! Please come to Philly!
Who is tony, wife?
Excellent
love Tony's vocals over the solo break, very cool and fits nicely
Singing the solo is a very usefull technique in general and ahe used to benefit the song as well
oooh yeah!
Just watched you do ELO, Gerry Rafferty, Queen, Peter Gabriel and now Pink Floyd.
You are just amazing...thank you.
Great job! Lost a close friend to a car accident when this came out and I always think of him when I hear this! Tears were flowing!✌🏻❤️
I've listened to hundreds of cover versions of this classic by famous or unknown artists for years now..& Have to say very , very few of them can do the song like you did which was amazing, mind- blowing cover!!! .. great job!! The solo part was fantastic too.. ONE & ONLY TONI💫
That first 1:20 is some of the best guitar I’ve seen you two do. Sounds so good.
I loved when Toni sang with the lead lines 😍😍😍
I’m not sure how I missed the original post. Glad I finally caught it.
Another beauty, ladies. Thanks for posting!
I just stumbled across this amazing cover while relaxing at my cabin in the highlands. Sent the link my friend who can't be here due to a family emergency. Thanks Elle and Toni.
Excellent! Great performance. You really moved me, and the best of all is that you really look natural, with no makeup or fancy production. Only a great version of one of my favorite Pink Floyd's songs. Greetings from a 64 yr old from Mexico City.
Wish you were here is one of the most recognized piece's of work due to it's simplicity and balance. It is not easy to master due to the complex timing required. Yet, you two made it look easy.
You totally captured the essence of one of the worlds most beautiful songs - And I've seen the Floyd do it often. You Nailed It. Fantastic work ladies: That was perfect. Thank you.
This is the first Reina Del Cid video I ever saw. I was trepidatious at first because I love Pink Floyd but after hearing you guys I was hooked. And been a Reina Del Cid fan ever since 😏
Wow, do I like this song and the pickin' by these two who have become my favorite online concert performers.. !!!!
Молодцы девчонки! Отличный вкус, отличная песня, отличное исполнения! Творческих успехов!
You Tube just dropped this in for me, so glad it did, loved everything about your playing and singing. Great rendition of a great song
You two young ladies have restored my faith in humanity. You gave me chills all over. Thank you, for letting me hear such a beautiful rendition of wish you were here. Ty ty ty.
This was the first song I learned to play on acoustic. I will always love it, and I love that you covered it!
This is the very first recording I listened to of you guys back in the thick of the Pandemic; I have not stopped since. Keep spreading the joy girls..peace
Nice to hear a recording occasionally without 16 tons of post production, where a human singing voice actually sounds like a human singing voice (nice ones, at that) and a guitar sounds like a guitar. Well done.
It's a joy to watch and listen to the covers of these two girls. I always listen to those guitar plays. Well done girls, I'm a fan
