A 78 yr. old rocker...I been singing this song live, for decades... Got pretty good @ it...But..I have never heard it sweeter than this..the Joy that comes with these young artists, doing these songs as if they've lived them... May God's Grace surround them, always...
I'm a 70 y.o. musican, mostly retired. I've been listening to versions of this great old chestnut for most of my adult life. I gotta say that your rendition is about as good as any I've heard and better than most of them! You sound wonderful...I wish you every success in whatever you try to do, and hope to hear LOTS more.
Dannie as someone who I never got past a 5 chord trick and also no longer in my first flush of youth. I love this combination, sometimes I am not aware that Tony along with her fantastic guitar skills is also vocalising beautifully along side rena. What a combo. I think the younger generation have an affinity for the music of the 50, 60, and into the 70's that somehow music after these times are somehow not revered. Maybe tbe future will prove this wrong.
Dylan wrote it, The Band made it famous, Grace Potter took it over the top, hundreds of people sang it, but this is by far the cleanest, purest, simplest version I have ever heard! Saw this about a year ago, been a fan ever since.
I may be considered to be an old man ( 67 years ) ... in my heart .. I am the same age as the young ladies playing here ... I was a youngster when I first heard Dylan play ... nothing has changed ... music is ageless ... our band self taught players ... not as proficient .... but the crowd danced when we played and we were all happy. ... Thank you for your version of the music .
Here is how these songs should be sung and played: nothing shouted, nothing to play but only clear words, an enchanting voice that makes you dream of open spaces, sun and well-being. These are the characteristics of Reina and Toni two musicians that I love as I love my idol John Fogerty and how I love all the music USA!
I listen to this every day. Today I was in the ER. I had a heart thing happen. I asked the nurse if I could start up my laptop. Your song was the first thing that played. Today, I pray that I will be released. If this is my last post, I love your music. If I could play my guitar right now, I'd play along with Toni. If you ever get a dream about an old Ojibwe hippy that loves your music, that'll be me. Sing with me as I am always singing with you. Fare thee well my dead head friends. Dano passed away at 4:20 pm today. he wrote this down and asked me to post this.
These two wonderful ladies so easily achieve that magic thing called FLOW. Just look at the look on Toni's face as she lovingly plays that lucky guitar! Reina is the perfect partner. I just love these two. At age 82. I hope I live long enough to enjoy more from them.
I see the whole apparatus of the Rock bands. So much noise. And screaming. And I am surprised by such a repercussion. Two girls (beautiful) two guitars, voices so sweet, songs that touch the soul. What a strange world.
I see im in good company here..Im 71 Toni: great work.. love your playing Reina.. your voice and compassion comes through.. Dylan did this with the band.. I see previous posts that state a progression from writer to success.. Dylan wrote it and HE and the band made it great.. the best part o this song is that We are all still singing this decades later.. THAT is a great song. I have sung this song several different ways since the beginning and still bring this out to sing at least a few times a month. Reina and Toni I have been following you for a few years now.. You are a group that puts your heart and soul into a piece.. well done .. very well done.. LOve it.
I'm also a 70-year-old musician, and I loved your rendition, ladies. That's a great arrangement, excellent singing, and some damn fine picking! Thanks for sharing your talent!
Toni so smoothly transitions from one genre of styles to another, I can imagine her standing in any great Jazz Band & looking right @ home.... You got to dig beneath the surface of this digital world, to find the very greatest talents...the ones unspoiled by excessive hype & attention..
For my 60th birthday 10/10/2020 ... I gave myself a guitar as my very own gift. I'll tell you this. YOUR remarkable rendition of this song... makes me want to learn to play it right now. You just capture the essence of this song and make it sound remarkably beautiful! I want to keep listening to it over and over again... and now I want to learn to play it. Great work! KEEP UP YOUR INSPIRING MUSIC GIRLS!!!
...Just beautiful. The guitar-playing is soul-stirring, as are your voices, and of course the lyrics, which always speak to the soul. It seems to me, we are all in the prison of our own souls, seeking release from our jailers... I can hardly listen without weeping. Thank you for sharing your beautiful rendition....
I'm 70yrs old and I've been loving this song for about 53 of those years. One of my favorite vocals of all time is Richard Manual's vocal on this song from "Music From Big Pink" album. Wore that album out! Shout out to Dylan for writing such a great song! I wish he had written a few more good tunes...Haha! Thanks Reina del Cid for keeping this kind of music alive. Your sound is awesome and downright therapeutic.
I usually don’t comment on stuff but this is so good I couldn’t help it. A Bob Dylan song, covered by everyone (probably 50 versions on Spotify), and you two get it PERFECT! Great job.
Iv never commented on any thing you tube , But You 2 are just fantastic. My new fav music tions. I just discovered you this month , then realized i just missed u on ur northwest tour. What a beautiful rendition! This is the first time in my lifetime I could finally understand all the lyrics and feel the songs cohesive, evocative, soulful cohesiveness.
So good ,stumbled across Elle and Toni awhile back...and keep finding different stuff they have done. As good if not better than anything out there I hear today ,fantastic😊
Wow REINA, I heard your cover of this song and it stuck in my mind for weeks. It was only today that I finally remembered why that tune was so familiar to me. At the end of the folk era, as rock came in the mainstream Dylan had lots of transition songs that were done by many artists. I SHALL BE RELEASED, WAS ONE that really touched certain people's heart. You guys brought tears to my eyes. REINA del Sid, you guys ROCK ALL STYLES OF MUSIC. . I'M IN LOVE WITH YOU GUYS. GILBERT. FROM NEW ORLEANS,LOUISIANA. I praise you dedication. I know first hand what it takes to make music flow the way you and Toni do!####
The spirit is alive and traveling up the future with these younguns. The books are all the ones that I read when young, seems a life path is there to follow.
You two have done something remarkable here. You have made this song new again! I have heared it in a number of versions, since i heared it first time in 1968. (Yes, i'm that old) Every sunday am i waiting for a new video of you two, and when it appears, it s like a big present with a nice wrapping. So thank you!

What's with all these old guys loving this music and these performances? Count me in their number! It's so good to see these wonderful songs enjoyed, kept alive and played so well by Reina, Toni and their mates. Greetings from Melbourne, Australia.
That is one of the most beautiful renditions of Dylans song I've ever heard. Thank you to whoever for posting this. You girls are magnificent. Kia manuia
These girls are so wonderful with their genuine musical talent! Just two guitars and voices and still they create music that touches your heart. Amazing!
You both have come so far since you recorded this. I think you will look back in time, and see how incredible this moment was captured here on video. This arrangement is captivating. Reina's vocal phrasing and strong tone, and Toni's complex flowing riffs, when you both were so young. There is something really special about this moment.
I absolutely love it that msny young singers appreciate songs from the past. And pay homage by doing a good and often, great job. This cover is a gem. Thank you!
Yanno, it warms my heart to no end to see you youngsters playing songs that were so important to my generation. Nothing but respect for you guys. Thank you.
When this came out played by The Band I was 15, nearly 16 and it became my favourite song of all. It still is as it still moves my heart. I love this version.
Dudets you have a new fan! 33 year old girl in love with This song and The Band, I was looking up the chords to Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd and found you all! Now I’m hooked to your gorgeous song renditions. All the best and thank you for the music 🥰💕🌞 🎶💓🌙
I was just listening to Nina Simone’s definitive version today, and I don’t say this lightly, but your rendition is just as enjoyable, just as beautiful as hers. Well done
This is the song that brought me to you. One of my roommates in the Air Force was a guitar player and this was his favorite song. He was always playing it. I hadn't heard it in years and was looking for a version of it other than Dylan's and came across you. I'm so glad I did.
I'm glad this is still up .....6:00am in Tbilisi. Yes , I agree a GREAT version of a very well written Song ...will be adding to my " Dylan Covers " playlist ......then back to Christmas cards that need to get to America , Uk and Norway . Happy Dec 1st .
Reina's come a long way since I first stumbled on her blue guitar videos way back in 07/08. Such a talent, and Toni is a really versatile musician too!
It's great to see young people appreciate great music. Keep covering great songs. There are good things to discover in there. A great cover. I am 73 and have seen the best. And you are really great.
OK, I’ve listened to The Band, Government Mule, Mama Cass, Dylan, and even The Beatles cover this song. Your version remains my favorite by far. You captured something special here.
Every few months I return to this one. For me it’s one of their best ever, so pure, simple, and genuine. I worry that with success they will “evolve” away from this type of timeless, classic performance.
OMG! You may find this kind of strange, but hopefully coincidental like I did and gratefully so. This is absolutely one of the most beautiful and soulful covers I've heard of this great song. So today I was doing another workout video in my backyard with me four legged doberman named Brody that I love so much and he's keeping me stay in shape to help care for my wife who is suffering from Alzheimers. One of the things I do to relax me and also provide a supplement is hand crafting Native American Indian style flutes and I'm grateful I've done fairly well with them. So I started off my evening with another exercise session with Brody and I wanted to add some of my flute music and guitar mix that I did and it turned out nice, but then it ended as I had the short version and I wanted to keep playing with my dog and then your lovely lovely cover of this song came creeping in and I couldn't stop listening and playing with my dog, so I hope you don't mind me sharing it maybe here on RUclips and definitely my Facebook. PS! I had to search for you again on YT because all I had was the audio, but recognized your both right of the bat. Awesome job! Inspiring to see and hear! If I was a music producer I'd bet a fortune on you both that we could turn a real nice profit for all of us in a very short spell based on several videos that I've watched.
No doubt it is a Dylan song, but I can't hear this song without thinking of Richard Manuel's heartbreaking falsetto version. I love your song selections. I have yet to be disappointed when the RUclips algorithm hands me an RDC treasure.
The reflection of the fire on the headstock. Pure genius, it doesn’t matter if it was unintended... perfecto! Coolville has been achieved. Thanks for your music. Miles of smiles!
Heard and played this song countless times, but never heard an intro quite like that fluid little riff Toni played. Sweet. Reina's vocals lovely, as always.
I'm floored by this cover. Your videos are remarkable for their authenticity and musicianship, but this video exceeds all that. Thank you, and please don't stop making music together.
Truly a beautiful and fitting cover of Dylan´s classic. Still watch the live version performed with The Band & friends...amazing vibe...many thanks and greetings from Spain.
Every now and then this keeps reappearing in the recommendations from YT. And every time I have to play it, because it's a haunting song and Elle & Toni do a great job of it.
I like the breathy tone of Elle's voice.
A 78 yr. old rocker...I been singing this song live, for decades...
Got pretty good @ it...But..I have never heard it sweeter than this..the Joy that comes with these young artists, doing these songs as if they've lived them...

Every now and then this keeps reappearing in the recommendations from YT. And every time I have to play it, because it's a haunting song and Elle & Toni do a great job of it.
