Reina, I am 80 years old and have trouble getting to sleep. I think I have found a cure. Your voice turns me to putty. And your band is terrific too. Please do more of these soft and sweet covers.
That's a real long Time, well done. Our son is now 35 years old and get 3 Kids. The paßt changed us, hair gonna grey, the eyes no more sharp, the bones are sleepy. But we're still together, that's important. A lot of memorys, ups and downs, bot no one I'll missing. Good luck to your wife and you. 💪👏👌
When my daughter was born I was there at the hospital. But I had to go to work . I walked in , my wife was there holding her . I walked over and put this song on. We both sort of held her between us and swayed and when Van sang she’s an angel of the first degree my wife burst into tears and said she is an angel . That 27 years ago . She’s still an angel of the first degree. I will never ever forget that . Simply one of the best songs ever written . Thanks for this version .
Way to play guys! I’m still crazy about Toni’s guitar licks. I think what I love most about your music is that it’s just sooooo real. No crazy sound affects or Autotune, you’re the real deal. It just doesn’t get better than that!
So great, all of them but Toni takes it to another level. Watching her adjust her volume as she's playing and changing over to the pick. She's so zoned in and in tune with her guitar yet makes it look so easy and comfortable. My favourite guitarist to listen to and to watch on RUclips. This is 8 years old.
Seeing the younger generation embracing the classics from my generation and singing/playing them with such heartfelt soul not only makes me feel good, it gives me hope for the future. I'm hooked, you two make beautiful music 🎶
I was stationed in England in the early 1970's..Van the Man was the fav of the British Isles..You two, not only do the tune justice, your honesty takes the song to amazing heights..Thank you both.
Such a very lovely arrangement of what is now a 60 year old classic. It is so great to see a new generation of incredibly talented musicians discovering the very best of my generations music, loving it, and making it their own, with joy, skill and love. Thankyou.
Going way out on a limb here to tell you I think your version adds another dimension to this song that the original lacked. I hope singing keeps bringing you enough rewards to continue posting/creating. We are lucky to have you
I realize this performance is a few years old, but this performance adds a level of seriousness I haven't seen in your other performances. It's my favorite of all your performances.
Oh, thank you. Played this in the 1970’s. Long hair, guitar. Nothing close to your beautiful talent. So sweet to listen to so much beautiful music, through your fresh eyes. Did I say, thank you?🙂
I'm blown away by your talent. Listening to your covers is such a positive experience in these troubled times. Got any Mellissa Etheridge, Blackberry Smoke, Paul Brandt, Ray Charles, Corb Lund, and the list goes on. I do believe you ladies could play anything, make it your own, and be true to the original. This old guy has fallen in love with you both!!! Much love and respect. Keep the great songs alive and keep on adding to the human experience with you own music.
The thing I love about your voices is it's very natural. It's not a schooled sounding Voice which to me always sounds overly controlled. Your voice is very natural and it's beautiful keep up the good work.
A lot of the time when I'm trying to pick up the nuances of a melody I remember well from the old days, I'll find a cover like this one to get a little variation on the themes. That practice is well rewarded here. Really lovely. Thanks, gang.
Thanks for doing this song! I used to play and sing this at dances and parties when I was in my early twenties and I enjoyed playing and singing with this song more than anything and loved the calm it put into the crowd. What a song! I only discovered the song in the early eighties and I loved the simplicity and beautiful words and melody.
Love this song. First heard it as they rolled credits in Peter Fonda’s award winning film “Yulee’s Gold” about the life trials of a Florida beekeeper who produces Tupelo Honey. This honey is a different kind of pure sweetness. I have some and use it sparingly as it costs $18 for a small container. One neat thing also about it is that as it may sit for a while it does not turn to sugar. The film is a treasure and hard to find but a peek at old Florida and a gritty side of life working the bees. The acting is superb and the theme throughout the movie is haunting. I have it and have never tired of watching it and hearing the song at the end over and over again. I am a fan of movies which pay special attention to details, set, costumes, language, sound, lighting....overall cinematography. This is Gold. Reina del Cid, my hat is off on this fine rendition of a beautiful classic song from the heart.
Sounds tremendous! And fits you like a glove, Reina. Flowing with a tranquil vibe that seems to linger ad infinitum. And Toni's solo... dancing atop the melody like a butterfly - impressive ear candy... a dazzling and delicious taste of honey this morning. Rock on, Your Highness...
Great heart felt rendition of a great old "Van (the Man)" song. I'm a new follower and I'm absolutely loving your down to earth style of performing music - Peace!
I can’t believe I just found you guys. Damn you RUclips algorithm. I’m always watching acoustic jams/folk/finger style. I love how you compose yourself while singing. Your music is beautiful.
this takes me back to my college days in the 70's....we were in a record store ready to buy this album when we realized we lost our money...sat down by the bay with my best friend back then thinking we were the loneliest people in the world....lol
A talented trio. Richie havens does a live at the bbc version of this song from around 1972. It makes your hairs stand on end. Even him tuning his guitar before singing is stunning.
This has for decades been my favorite song, i sing it to my wife all the time and I absolutely love your easy, perfect delivery. I've just become a big fan
Isn't it strange and wonderful how music can transcend boundaries of age, gender, race, beauty, "success" etc.? We're all just a bunch of humans digging wonderful music by truly gifted musicians who just get it. Groovy!!
I've been on a kick watching all of your videos and as soon as it started building here the hair on my arms stood right up. Absolutely fantastic. Y'all keep doing what you're doing. Makes the world a brighter place!
I look forward to the revival of this RUclips channel. It was a long time journey back home. RUclips might leave you poor and broken in your old age, but you'll have lit up the medium with your love of music and story telling. That is not such a bad legacy, so bring on the music Reina.
Reina, you and your band has come a long way since the barbie doll girl song and the girl with the blue guitar, it has been amazing to watch. Best wishes to all of you and good luck in your endeavor. Your work gets better everytime I hear something new, and that girl who has accompanied you on guitar for a while now has improved greatly.
That's the way it is with me too. Those small vocal nuances of phrasing and tone give the song its soul and its meaning. Reina seems to have the music in her whole being, and expresses it with not only her voice, but in her every gesture. It's mesmerising.
Now y'all know where Chris Stapleton got the idea to do " Tennessee Whiskey " ... I'm not sure but I believe " Tupalo Honey " was written ... before Tennessee Whiskey but I could be wrong about that and it wouldn't be the first time being wrong about a song.. but Reina Del Cid always does an excellent job on any song she sings and I love her voice... she's also easy on the eyes if you get my meaning! 👍👍🤠
Wonderful rendition, I have owned like 6 or 7 of the vinyl Van the Man albums of Tupelo Honey, each time I give one away to someone because they enjoyed the album so much. I have to say "Starting A New Life" is my favorite.
You make lovely music.Your own songs are amazing what a talent dou you have,so young and making so many songs.I cannot stop listening to your songs.Sympatic youn people who are very pure.Thank you for that.Hans,I m Dutch but I live in Spain Bye
Your Phrasing and feeling you pour in your music is tremendous! I have tried to teach this to several singers. I can do it but my voice is not great....but I've been making a living at it for a long time! Also her guitar playing is right there with you! I'm a big fan! I'll post one of my daughter who is about your age. Check it out on my channel! She is pretty good too! Anyway Great work!
Smooth and tasty as the honey you sang about, Reina. Cudos to Chris and Tony for their more than fine job as well. Altogether an awesome performance on this beautiful Sunday morning. Mattie
Have been a Van fan since this album came out. That's pretty fair treatment of a VM classic. If you ever update it, consider injecting the alternate verse; "She got a rose pressed in a King James bible Sometimes she reads it from her balcony. Well, she's in slumber and I got her number, From the beginning of the 20th century." Heard Van do this verse on his 1978 Wavelength tour. Great verse, so I cannot fathom why it's not on the album version.
That was a pleasant Sunday morning listen with a professional polish on all facets by the band. I've yet to try Tupelo Honey. I'll have to buy some. Reina, I didn't know you lived in a Hobbit house. Chris's head looks like it is about to bump into the ceiling, but it could be the camera angle.
Reina, I am 80 years old and have trouble getting to sleep. I think I have found a cure. Your voice turns me to putty. And your band is terrific too. Please do more of these soft and sweet covers.
👍
Blessed
I fell inLove with my wife when she was 17. Now she's 63 and she's still as sweet as Tupelo Honey. Thank you for this memory.
ya'll have been blessed Richard, soul mates right...wishing ya'll more happy tunes and miles for you two...
That's a real long Time, well done.
Our son is now 35 years old and get 3 Kids.

@ My dear, you'r speaking from your (bad ?) experience. The story exists also the other way round.
Jj Grey did this song better than Van
God bless you both. 🙏
Reina sings and I’m in happy, then Toni plays, wow.
When my daughter was born I was there at the hospital. But I had to go to work . I walked in , my wife was there holding her . I walked over and put this song on. As long as people can make music, there is hope

AMEN
Without music or cats life would be a mistake.

yes , beautiful interpretation of this amazing song!! listenning , a woman ,living far from me ,comes in my mind
These ladies seem to have fun making videos no matter where they are or how cold it is. That's why it's always so much fun watching their videos.
Going way out on a limb here to tell you I think your version adds another dimension to this song that the original lacked. I hope singing keeps bringing you enough rewards to continue posting/creating. We are lucky to have you
This version is more understated. Van kind of went over the top.
I realize this performance is a few years old, but this performance adds a level of seriousness I haven't seen in your other performances. It's my favorite of all your performances.
Oh My God! You have taken one of the most emotional songs ever and made it even more special. You just moved me to tears!
I see what you did there 'Special' like a special person, got you...!
Oh, thank you. Played this in the 1970’s. Long hair, guitar. Nothing close to your beautiful talent. So sweet to listen to so much beautiful music, through your fresh eyes. Did I say, thank you?🙂

I like the energy in the song and Reina's charisma, and the quiet ending. Toni plays every cover with such ease. Toni = impressive.
I have no idea how many times I've listened to this cover. It's one of my all time favorites.
I used to have hope for young people, but when I hear music like this, I have faith.
The thing I love about your voices is it's very natural. It's not a schooled sounding Voice which to me always sounds overly controlled. Your voice is very natural and it's beautiful keep up the good work.
Real instruments, and talent. Voices that are awesome. What else could I ask 4. Spectacular guys. Thanks for sharing.
I've come to love this cover way more than the original - I would love to hear you do more Van Morrison!
Thank you to Josh Turner for leading me to your channel.....you are an incredible talent....magical voice and arrangements
same

Thanks guys so much !! For taking me there with your incredible talent, flawless rendition of one of my favorite songs of all time.
I absolutely love this version. Thank you all for doing it.
Love to listen to these Ladies, Toni you are awesome on the guitar, could listen to you playing all the time. Great song.
Thanks for doing this song! What a song! I only discovered the song in the early eighties and I loved the simplicity and beautiful words and melody.
I have listened to much cool things and this is one of them.
Reina del Cid, my hat is off on this fine rendition of a beautiful classic song from the heart.
Ulee's Gold is one of my very favorite movies--in the top five for sure.
Van Morrison is from Belfast. Civil war has been an issue here. Bees and the gritty side of "working" them is a fascinating connection to make.
What a great version of a great song
Sounds tremendous! And fits you like a glove, Reina. Flowing with a tranquil vibe that seems to linger ad infinitum. And Toni's solo... dancing atop the melody like a butterfly - impressive ear candy... a dazzling and delicious taste of honey this morning. Rock on, Your Highness...
Love these old songs, brings me back to my youth listening to the am station by the Mississippi river with friends.
Thank you
played along with my b-flat blues harp. it worked well. good group, thanks.
My favorite Van Morrison song! Beautiful.
Great heart felt rendition of a great old "Van (the Man)" song.
I'm a new follower and I'm absolutely loving your down to earth style of performing music - Peace!

Your voice is a gift to the world.
Good job don’t know how you pull out classics from 50 years ago play them so well cheers love the music
Joy can be elusive. From my perspective it can be more easily experienced through good music. Thank you.
A talented trio. Richie havens does a live at the bbc version of this song from around 1972. It makes your hairs stand on end. Even him tuning his guitar before singing is stunning.
Tenderly sung and played. Toni I could listen to you play forever, such a perfect balance to Reina's guitar and voice.
I like it when young people bring great songs to new places and offer something that is not in the original. I love the simple trio here. Good work.
This has for decades been my favorite song, i sing it to my wife all the time and I absolutely love your easy, perfect delivery. I've just become a big fan
The rain feels a lot warmer now x
Isn't it strange and wonderful how music can transcend boundaries of age, gender, race, beauty, "success" etc.? We're all just a bunch of humans digging wonderful music by truly gifted musicians who just get it. Groovy!!
Heard heaps of versions besides Van & this is definitely one of the very, very, best, ever. Excellent treatment & arrangement of it. Huge kudos!
Why would anyone give this a thumbs down? If you don'y like this, you don't like music.
I've been on a kick watching all of your videos and as soon as it started building here the hair on my arms stood right up. Absolutely fantastic. Y'all keep doing what you're doing. Makes the world a brighter place!

I love this. I love the sci-fi raps but I really am glad I decided to see what was on you RUclips Chanel. I sing these same songs and I love it!

This is a very nice rendition of this song. Softer than the original, and, in my view, better.
My second favorite Van tune. You perform it wonderfully. Thank you.

Super c est du bonheur d entendre cette belle chanson si bien interprété merci
Gorgeous! You should cover "Girl From The North Country" next! :)
Lovely....at moment being played on the river while we barby and chill in England's stifling 22 degrees heat. Thanks again.
Quite smooth tunes! I do like when you two sing at two voices in Harmony! Truly nice! !
I am in love with this song this version. Grateful for this.
The further I go back in in the music u've done the more I love y'all. SOOOOO GOOD !!!!!!
Magnificent! Incidentally, am I seeing a Dunlop tortex 88mm pick in Toni's right hand? It sounds great when Toni handles it.
My favorite Reina cover so far. Loved the original too. Thanks.
Awesome job. I sang this for my wife at my 50th. Love it.
You guys are awesome.great song.vans one of my favorites.relaxes me like no other.been listening to him twenty years, never gets old

Father daughter song at my daughter’s wedding by Van the Man (stolen from Robbie Robertson)
Great job by all musicians
Your Phrasing and feeling you pour in your music is tremendous! I have tried to teach this to several singers. I can do it but my voice is not great....but I've been making a living at it for a long time! Also her guitar playing is right there with you! I'm a big fan! yesss.....Van The Man.....should be proud......fantastic cover....your girl there plays a mean guitar.....
Smooth and tasty as the honey you sang about, Reina. Cudos to Chris and Tony for their more than fine job as well. Altogether an awesome performance on this beautiful Sunday morning.
Mattie
Toni is fav guitarist
That was as sweet as a big spoonful of Tupelo Honey. A lovely vibe. Thank you all.
Just what I needed this morning. Thank you
Your voice is so soothing. Glad i came across you. It's a pleasure listening to your videos.
I have watched a number of your videos now. I am very impressed.
God damn Sam, you guys killed it. Stellar cover, faithful, stripped down, spot on vocals.
Oh hell ya! Van wrote good songs but the way he sang them is why they last and last and you nailed it with the singing. Great post
Time well spent, listening to this band...
Have been a Van fan since this album came out. That's pretty fair treatment of a VM classic. If you ever update it, consider injecting the alternate verse;
"She got a rose pressed in a King James bible
Sometimes she reads it from her balcony.
Well, she's in slumber and I got her number,
From the beginning of the 20th century."
Heard Van do this verse on his 1978 Wavelength tour. Great verse, so I cannot fathom why it's not on the album version.
THE best version of this song.
Que gran perfomance felicitaciones. Saludos desde Chile.
Great song and nicely sung. Toni's guitaring as impeccable as ever.
What a voice. Beautiful
Both did an outsatanding job, one of my favorite covers.
I love the melody in this tune. These folks do a great job.
You two gals are amazing!!! Love it.
Wow. I am blown away by this cover. Amazing! Liked, favorited and converting it to an mp3 so I can put it on my morning playlist.
Reina and Toni are as sweet as Tupulo Honey all day every day. They're alright, They're alright, They're alright...
Out there making the world better. Thank you, deeply
