So glad we were able to capture this beautiful moment right before the sunset near Tahoe. Just as Toni was finishing the song and I was putting the camera away, some locals were walking up to watch the sunset at this spot-also fans of the Dead. We jammed and talked with them for a while until it got dark, and then we all went on our way. A great memory! Hope y’all enjoy Toni’s take on Ripple. :) -Elle
If you ever have a chance, please stop by and perform at former Rancho Olompali (now a State Park) near Novato, CA. This is where the Dead hung out, sang, and lived in the late 60s.
It almost makes me want to cry... the beautiful scenery background, the music and the energy I feel through my computer of Jerry listening down and smiling while you play and sing this song. This is what makes me want to learn how to play my guitar.
We played this song at my dad's funeral. I haven't been able to listen without a tear in my eye since. Dad would have absolutely loved y'all. He was a huge fan of folk rock and pretty female voices. He passed in March of 05. He will always be with me listening to your music.
As always , simply beautiful talent! You girls seem to know what we want to hear, and how we want to hear it done. The sounds of the music you play soothes my heart ❤️❤️❤️are
Toni…so gentle, peaceful, quieting…sweet lullaby lady. Easy playing, true to every note…clear and clean as mountain air. Blessed. Gifted. Thank you, ma’am! More please. Much more
Toni, all I can say is ..... more please. You are one my favorite guitarists in the entire world. And, your voice just makes it a perfect combination. More please.
It's amazing the life these songs have. Looking at Toni I'm guessing she wasn't even born when Ripple was released. Great songs have a life of their own. Keep the spirit alive. 🌹☮️☮️
Wow, Toni, You just took this old hippy back to his long ago strange trips of stumblin around the country, with the Dead..... Thank You Toni, You are so, so talented!!!!!
Toni, that was so beautiful. I heard that the first time on the porch of a friend in Arcata, California.............45 years ago. Been with me ever since. Your version was great................thanks!
Wise choice to cover this particular song! This is an absolute classic. RIP to the poet who scribed the unforgettable lyrics and the Dead musicians who made this song a masterpiece.
When I was 18, I met Jerry Garcia twice. Both times it was around 2am in the morning. The Grateful Dead would be performing at the Carrier Dome, and after the show, they’d end-up at my truck stop. I would come inside from working on a tractor trailer, just as Jerry would come strolling out of the diner, with the check in his hand.
You have been very faithful. I have heard your voice come through the music and held it near for years now. Thank you so very much for this offering. I can't explain the feelings of exhilaration and validation I get when you play Jerry's music. You are a precious soul.
For my 15th birthday, in 1972, my older brother gave me a copy of Workingmans Dead and took a friend and I to see my first concert, the Grateful Dead in KCK 11/72. Over 50 years later Hunter’s words and Garcia’s music still inspire me and I’m still a DeadHead. I’m pleased younger generations continue to be inspired too! Thank you for this beautiful version! “Let there be songs to fill the air!”⚡️💀🌹
Bravo! That was wonderful, literally music to my ears. Loved the sound of that 6 string and you played it very well and so effortlessly. The backdrop was gorgeous, your voice was crystal clear and did justice to the song. What a great way to start my morning. Thanks!
I just played this song yesterday at a celebration for the life of a friend who recently died. He loved the Grateful Dead. Toni this version of yours is exquisitely played. I have goosebumps all over. Love you!
Ah, Toni, you made me cry again. I can't play this song without tears, as it immediately brings my dad back for me. And this was just beautifully done. Thank you, and Happy Christmas!
I love how Toni is using her voice, she has been an excellent guitarist and has put put some fantastic music. And this song, what great easily understood lyrics. The Dead at their best!
You got me flashing back to summer holidays when I was a college student hiking through the Siskiyou’s and Sierra Nevadas listening to Neil Young and the Dead.
Thanks for doing this song. It's my favorite version. You are an amazing guitar player. I'm an old guy, and you give me hope for the future of American music.
Thanks for posting this Toni. One of my favorite songs from middle school and high school. Makes me think of my friend Mike White who died from suicide this year. Used to listen to this with him. RIP Mike you were a great friend.
All the live Dead recordings have hesitations that are passed over like so many Ripples. This is beautiful, Toni. Don’t doubt it! You’re playing live with “the gold of sunshine.”
Thank you Toni, for doing Ripple today. Beautiful timing, My Father in law just passed couple hours ago in his living room. Larry was an old blues man, just turned 79 this month.❤❤❤

Beautifully done Toni. You always pick my absolute favorite songs. We are probably 30 years apart in age, and we love the same songs. Maybe America should take note: Start focusing on our similarities instead of our differences.
