Sometimes more than we are willing, but who's to say they just didn't want it more, or maybe just because they can. Special ride, regardless. I'm glad you have one, Brad! #Goals

    You’re spot on. The cars are going for upper 170’s and no one with money is just going to throw 3 or 400k at them. The dealers are living in dreamland thinking they will get that one person who, like you said, was given a bunch of money and even then pretty much everyone knows these can be had in the 100’s now.
    With the financial markets collapsing worse than people know right now they will continue to drop.

    It wasn't until the 2023 Demon 170 did the prices of the 2018 jump so high. I watched a few on a few different sites and they were around 115000 to 150000 with almost no miles, then a 70000 to 100000 bump in price. One I specifically watched was a 2018 had 15 miles and was priced at 115000 then over night it was listed at 225000 same car with nothing but the 2023 introductions. Market drive for another model year (23) which in my opinion hurt the first and suppose to be only year (18).

    Excellent video as always, thank you OC Motivator. I do have a question though, isn't it bad for a car to sit for a couple of years and not driven ? I mean don't the seals start cracking and rotting and the hoses start going bad , and developing bad spots on the tires ? If that is the case, then why the heck would someone drop that large amount of money for such a beautiful car and let it rot ?

    • @ocmotivator
      @ocmotivator  3 месяца назад +5

      Yep. It’s very bad. It’s the same as “lot rot”. Batteries die and need replacement, tires get flat spots, rubber dries out, seals start cracking and leaking, etc etc. That’s why I’m not a collector. Even my old Lambo would punish me with repairs if I didn’t drive it every single weekend.

    I’m facing the dilemma now on whether I want to drive my 170 with factory Carbon Fiber wheels. I have two 2018 Demons and vin/color matched my 170 to one of them. The vin matched 2018 has only delivery miles so I have a vin/color matched pair with only delivery miles. My other 2018 Demon is driven a lot so it’s not a garage queen. I really don’t think I’ll be missing out on much by not driving my CF wheel 170 as my 2018 Demon is a handful on the street. This video was very appreciated and helpful in deciding whether to drive the 170. I’m blessed that all three Demons were bought new at MSRP with one bought below MSRP. A matching pair of Demons including the CF wheels should be a good investment and an insurance policy to ensure I can afford medical care and food in my old age. lol. I appreciate any thoughts you may have on my dilemma!! Thanks

    Since the Original Demon was the first Wide Body it looked so crazy and special.. Then they started offering Wide Body on Scats, Cats, and Redeye's.. That was a big shot of death toward the Demon and 170.. If you couldn't get a poverty scat charger/challenger with the wide body they would be so sought after.. Now you can buy a hellcat widebody and mod it yourself to make more power.. Then you look at how you really never want to mod a Demon, most real car guys get bored with the same power and want to make their car look different or mod it as you please.. You just can't do that with a 170 unless you want to ruin it for ever..

I drove mine around a bit and was thinking about putting regular tires on it. I agree there are insane prices but $200k sounds fair enough for the last hellcat that's numbered and over 1000hp. Its one a of a kind production car. $200k for the crown jewel of their muscle car collection isn't abnormal. Mopars are expensive muscle cars.

    they are selling for $380'000 because, on a normal sale price of what was $78'000... the coded line of how a person in the local aria has to work and pay taxed to then get that $78k loan paid in full over 8 years, amounts to that $430'000 sticker price to total overhead they have paid to taxes to then get $78'000. as the books are reviewed more and more people are buying big things without ever paying a single cent in federal/state taxes of any kind including paying for lunch. ... stolen sticker shock leads to a criminal staying in jail for a very long time.

      A $78k car loan over 84months at 8% tax is a total of $109,000.. Lets say that you got a loaded redeye sticker and you paid $90,000 at 84 months + tax and fees = $119,904... I think you need to re-do your math.. there are many auto loan calculators that account for every cent and lay it out showing how much principal and interest paid per year, as it starts heavy year 1 and goes down every year, and every year principal rises the same opposite of interest..
