All that money for a car that look pretty much the same since 2015
That's traditional. My 71 'Cuda has the same interior, same body, same parts as a million dollar Hemi 'Cuda. Mine just doesn't have the Hemi. The point of cars like this is the driveline. The difference between my 69 Charger R/T SE auto and the 4 speed is production numbers. The interior is the same, body panels, etc.
Directly to your point, in my opinion, they finally got a clue with body styles and kept something successful instead of changing it every few years for the sake of making it different, not better. They ruined many beautiful body styles by changing them just for the hell of it. The 2nd gen Charger is a perfect example.

Great video Brad. Buyers remorse indeed. You have always been very realistic about your purchase with your Demon 170, imploring everyone that had to have one to not pay those ridiculous markups. For the people that paid them thinking that they were buying a gold mine, only to try and unload them only a few months later knowing that they were only going to lose big money when they realized that they were never going to come close to even breaking even for these cars. What makes me shake my head is how quickly people are jumping off the bandwagon and trying to abandon ship with these cars. They were never Dodge fans to begin with. The dealers wound up hosing everyone with outrageous markups, and not only ruined it for the true Dodge enthusiasts who really wanted these cars at MSRP, but also committed brand suicide and ruined the Dodge name and company’s future and long term survival. Many people hold accountability here. You were telling the truth from the beginning and get to enjoy your car at the price point that it should have been intended to sell at. The vast majority of these cars will sit in garages and collect dust, not enjoyed by their owners, and not bringing them the true satisfaction that their purchase should have brought them. A real shame when it comes to such a great car. Hopefully people can buy them in the secondary market for reasonable prices and get to enjoy that beast the right way.

idk if i’d shoot for a demon 170 if they drop, my redeye is already outperforming it with minimal mods and it has the basic amenities, favorite car i’ve had so far
If you can get one for sticker, it would be the ultimate musclecar to have. You could daily it like any other Hellcat just by changing out the tires and running it on the 93 octane setting.
Well, if you say so, but having got mine at sticker, I can tell you that daily driving this car would be painful. You’ll literally be at the gas station every single day. Unlike the 2018 Demon, they didn’t give a black key so you’ll be running at 900hp all the time on 93 vs 500 on the 2018 demon, next you’d be burning miles on a collector car which would equate to $20-$30 per mile in depreciation, next due to the popularity of this car you’d likely get it stolen pretty quickly and your insurance company will at best give you sticker meaning you can never replace it, but if you’re good with those issues then yes, you’re right, you could daily drive it just like you could daily drive a Bugatti if you want. Just wouldn’t make much sense since the car is a pure race car built 100% for the drag strip.

Daily driving a Demon-170 would be no more painful than driving a Hellcat, Redeye, Super Stock, Black Ghost; they all go through gas like crazy and using the black key is a joke (it all depends on your right foot). If you bought the car to drive it, who cares about it being a collectors car (if it ever will be). Like I was saying, if you switch out the stock rubber, you can daily this car like any other Hellcat. Just my opinion man.
The price of the demon is not worth the price to me and the fact is just a track car is pointless to a lot of people

Just get a regular hellcat, you can easily get them at sticker, especially narrow bodies

Good morning OC. Excellent content as always. Honestly, I don't have a track close enough to justify a car like that even if I could afford it. However at the track I do live within two hours of, they have experience the super car events twice a year. There is a group that has all kinds of supercars, Ferrari, Lambo, Hellcats, GTRs and you can pay to take them out on Charlotte Motor Speedway for a few laps. That will probably be the way I experience one . Congrats again on your Lambo and thank you for the informative and enjoyable video.

Brad I feel good now that I never got that demon170. Because I was close to pay them there price. Now I feel I came out a winner. They can keep it even if they decide to try me again. I've taken my classic muscle cars to cars and coffee and parked among Lamborghiinis, Ferraris, Porsches, etc and sucked the life right out of them. I've talked to people with these Euro cars and they have had the experience of having a classic car steal all the attention. Just because it's expensive doesn't mean it's cool.

Of course. I’m watching prices drop and value evaporate. I’m not immune to the realities of the market. I just have to measure all my options constantly and do what I can to mitigate losses vs opportunity too. So we will see.
Dodge should have done what Ford did with the Mustang GTD as far as changing the body style. Speed alone doesn't justify the price for a car that looks the same for the past 10+ years.

Dodge is in Real Trouble
I went from a 2021 Charger Scat to a 2023 wide body Charger Scat for MSRP 63k. I bought the car looking forward to the factory stage kits coming out which got dropped by Dodge. I started looking at Hellcats all wide body models which is the only way a Charger comes are marked up 5 to 15k. Crunching numbers pooling up all the money I can but coming up short a 100,000 dollars is a lot. I noticed when all the wide bodies hit the dealers that the standard Hellcat prices were dropping. I saw one I would be okay with I like Challengers I drove my son's car it's nice but I prefer a Charger. I bought a standard Hellcat loaded MSRP 84k for 78k 6,000 off. Standard bodies have the same horse power and are lighter. Very impressed with the car really like it with the 22k I saved I had a stage 1 kit installed now 757 horse power and looking into rims and tires I will have 6,000 invested 50 horse power short of a Redeye. I still see mark ups on the wide bodies but I have seen dealers marking down standard Hellcats as much as 10k. It would be nice to have one of the ultimate horse power cars. 750 horse power is a lot of fun to and a lot cheaper.

I am 66 years old and have been involved with specialized cars my entire life. Any one that has paid over sticker for any car is married to it unless it falls into super or hyper car territory...

The 2018 Demons have come down in price. And I would expect that trend to continue as the 170’s drop. The economy slowing down isn’t helping anything either.
Ah, all the haters over on the Hellcat forum, sour grapes. Brad has been on target about pricing on all late model HC's, the Last Call, Sticker Cars, and the Demon 170. Of course the buyers remorse is right on target. I would like him to do a video on his Demon and tell us what his plans are. I'm not even sure he still has the car since he never mentions it.

I have to ask a stupid question, why did you go with the lambo in 4 instead of 2wd?
I was open to the 2wd and they’re less money but I couldn’t find one. And in the end, the 610-4 has a nicer front end and a lot of little upgrades too. And now that I’ve had the awd for a month in all of this rain I’ve loved it. But sadly I can’t do any donuts in this thing of course.

The people that understand this car already have it. But if you want to “give” your car back to the dealer, he’ll just add it to his collection. Indefinitely.

Only reason for those stupid insane markups is because there were people willing to pay for it and now that all the dunnies who drove the prices past Ferrari's have now gotten their overpriced cars, the rest of the people who werent dumb enough to overpay will sit back, let those prices cone crashing down, THEN go buy it when dealerships are desperate.
I don't see these Demon 170s as appreciating in value in 20, 30, 40 years. Personally, I'd unload that Demon 170 asap.
I paid $85 over for my 170 and really wish I would have waited. That's my only regret. I dont care that the car doesn't do 200 mph or that I can't drive it in the rain. The car drives incredible on the street and is super comfortable. It's the most fun car I've ever driven, and I have a Redeye and Trx sitting right next to it. 😃
I have a funny feeling You're not gonna keep your demon 170 for long But whether you do or you don't keep it long enough to Get together with a bunch of other youtuber guys with 170s and get some great content with it. And then get rid of it. Take it to the track and learn how to drive it. Scare the crap out of yourself. And I know somebody that might want to buy it off you when you do want to sell it Not me, but maybe B Mason would like it. You know, he would tear up the track with that car.
It's a fan car...yep it's awesome but the remorse from the six figure over buyers is hitting hard. This isn't mommas grocery getter. 95% of these purchasers will never race these cars on the track. That is why it was purpose built for that reason

These dodge dealers in Ontario Canada are such scammers! Demon 170's at several of them advertised at $299999! Widebody scat pack chargers approaching $100k!!! If I ever buy a new vehicle again (doubtful as I'll just get used), it'll be Ford.
I'm sure if you walked into a dealer with a Demon 170 and had cash you could do a deal.
