      Trouble is that the Federal government has bailed them out so many times that they practically own the automakers. Also, the abuse and absolute hijacking of the interstate commerce clause has allowed the Feds to dictate almost everything inside the auto businesses. There's no easy way of laying off people. I got laid off after 20 years at Comcast at 46 years old. Single dad with a mortgage. I thought I was done. Five years later Im a lot more happy. You figured out what you need to do to be successful in the USA. Regrettably the education system here is aimed at making employees out of students, to most people owning their own business never even crosses their mind. I have had my own business since I was 18 years old, I am now 56. My house is paid off, my cars are paid off, and I am what I would call semi-retired for the last 4 years. I still run the company website, and one of the eBay stores, but I no longer go to the warehouse and work there, in fact I moved out of the state where I have my warehouse and my business partner runs the day to day operations there.

      CDJR can't catch a break. Chrysler was owned by Fiat before Stellantis, which didn't do them much good in the way of quality. Fiat used them as a cash cow and cut corners to make fast money. Before them, they were owned by Daimler, and while they did actually improve the quality of the vehicles, they mismanaged the companies and made some not-so-great decisions that made them not profitable. What would be best is for someone to break them away from Stellantis in a way that the new owning company or whatever still has access to all of the tech, plants, etc., but take CDJR + Mopar in the US, Canada, and Australia in a different direction. Outside of those three countries, CDJR really doesn't have much presence compared to Fiat and some of the other brands under the umbrella, so when they make oddball decisions that hurt us in the States they don't feel it since they still sell enough vehicles even with the high prices that it's not hurting their bottom line. Them basing the Hornet on an Italian made Alfa instead of the US made Cherokee tells you all you need to know especially considering that they made Jeep drop the Cherokee due to poor sales and it ironically outsold the Hornet in its last year of production.

And started hand building my own EVs back in the late 70s. Hybrids are the only electrification answer. A V6 or V8 running a DC welding unit instead of a transmission. Electric drive hubs and replaceable battery units that can be swapped for different styles of batteries from glass mat to sealed acid csr batteries. It should be the consumers' choice when replacing the battery unit. Or just swapping charged battery trays. I'm a Retired Master Electrician. Certified welder. And expert on EVs and Hybrids. Not hybrid but similar to a diesel electric train which you would have a generator that could run on any type of fuel to operate the electric motors and I would think need a battery for short-term use. You could put the generator, a fuel source and a smaller battery in place of the original electric vehicle battery area. It sounds simplistic but they seem to work in locomotives and this would make use of millions of soon to be worthless vehicles that would be headed for the scrap yards.

      Chrysler & Dodge are both strong Americana automotive brands! Mopar or no car! Believe in Dodge as the current American Auto Industry has been literally HIJACKED by the current Biden Administration! The jury is out on Stellantis as it appears that the CEO believes that ELECTRIFICATION of cars is the future? It doesn't appear to be and my question is WHY is Stellantis turning a blind eye? America needs new leadership & we need to take America back! Dodge is an America icon & I would personally hate to see it die!

    It's a sad day for sure. I formerly worked for a nationwide corporate company that started out great and I loved for years. Loved my customers and working for the company. They continued to grow then I saw them become more greedy and imposing more rules , regulations, and micro managing making it harder for all of us to do our job. It became so toxic many of us left and so did the customers. It frustrates me to see this same thing to our beloved brand. I will still love the OLD mopar and continue to drive my charger proudly thinking of the past. Hope this changes but looking bleak. Thanks soo much for all the great videos. Stellantis' problems are 3 fold. 1) They sat on their collective asses for years not developing new products. 2) They have lost customers because of iffy quality. They caved in to the UAW and are paying guys $100,000 a year to slap tires on cars. Finally, it should be noted that most of their profits come from Europe.

How many $50k plus vehicles are sitting on dealer lots across the country? Most vehicles have over a year’s worth, and the OEMs want to keep making more. The problem is greed at every single layer. These people losing their jobs and income to support themselves and their families is something completely different, and much more important and meaningful. I wish all of them all of the best. This is probably going to happen to many more American businesses as we move forward. Foreign corporations purchasing iconic and more grassroot American businesses and then tearing them apart as well as layoff countess numbers of employees to maximize profits. They don’t know America nor do they care. This is our sobering reality.

They laid off people then merged us with another company. It was a total mess, and still is. That’s when I sold my Challenger because I was worried they would lay me off too.
    If your company gets bought out, get your resume ready. 📃
    It used to be you would order a performance car, then go to the parts counter to get the good parts to install. They could do this again, buy the base engine and a bolt in hemi V8 and trans. from the parts desk. Including installation the price out the door should be about the same.

If you want Bluetooth, a touchscreen, and a back up camera the aftermarket has you covered. Want a 700 HP supercharged V8? Aftermarket has you covered. For half of what you're paying for new car, you can have a unique muscle car that can do everything, if not more than these.

      Be honest Joey, ANY classic car of notoriety in good shape is a 6 figure car, and updating them to a retro classic is not an inexpensive endeavor, then there is finding a good shop out of the hundreds of scam shops, and lastly..there the headache of constantly fixing things which all classic cars will deal with. This is not a cheap or easier option by any stretch.

    • @joeydelgado6119
      @joeydelgado6119 Месяц назад

      @ekahab I never said classic. I said older. At 18 I bought a 77 Camaro for $500 and did a lot of work myself and was very happy for what I got for about 10k. I could never dream of doing that again. If you shop around you can find anything that's 15 years old or older for under $15k in decent shape and with $20-$25k create a dream ride. People do it all the time. Hell, you can find 10+ year old Challengers for under 20k. So yes, I was being honest.

    • @ekahab

      @@joeydelgado6119 Fair enough, although a 77' is very much a classic. I too built a 64 impala, a 66 AMC rambler and a 71' Chevelle back in the 90's, but none of it was cheap or easy was the only point I was trying to make. It is an option, but only if you have the knowledge, tools, time and most importantly motivation and passion to see the project through. We both know how many projects get started and never finished with older cars. Just stuff I think anyone thinking about buying an older car needs to know.

    • @joeydelgado6119
      @joeydelgado6119 Месяц назад +1

      @ekahab I can definitely agree with that. But nowadays I'm seeing people buy a brand new or almost new vehicle and rolling it into a shop and dumping another 20 grand in mods to make it "their" ride. I've got my eye on a low mile late 90s stock Camaro Z28 that is not moving and last I checked it was under $10k. Me, I'd buy it and leave it stock except for sound. But, if anyone had a $20k dollar hole burning in their pocket, they could have a monster for under $30k and that's with a shop doing the work.
