I have Hagerty and they still didn't want to insure it for more than MSRP, actually they would insure it for what I paid but not for what it would take to replace it.
The missing fender in front looks better to me. Its what separates the original demon and the 170. If i saw a demon hood with a narrow front on the road I could tell easily it would be a 170 from looking at it in the front

The Dodge/SRT engineers that built the original Demon and the new Demon 170 hate the fact that the heavy 19 speaker Harmon kardon sound systems, leather seats, and sunroofs are even available options for these cars... these guys went above and beyond to take weight out of these cars wherever possible within the constraints of their budget. They removed sound deadening material, trunk carpet, passenger seats, widebody flares, offered carbon wheels, and smaller lighter brakes... all of this weight reduction just for buyers to add most of the luxury amenities like leather seats, 19 speaker Harman Kardon sound systems, and sunroofs right back in! They built us a drag car, so leave it a drag car! If it was up to the Dodge/SRT engineers, every Demon 170 would have been built with one cloth seat!
@stevesmith6236 the beats by dre sound system and subwoofer came stock in my Charger RT. They made them for chargers 2012-2019. Look up the picture. It's a small subwoofer. Not a giant early 2000's Rockford Fosgate subwoofer. I'm not worried about weight in a RT or Scat Pack.
I love the look of the Demon ! The side/rear view around the 23 minute mark is just awesome, it looks like a sinister monster awaiting its next victim. It's a purpose built street legal drag car, and it looks it , it's perfect as it is ! I remember when everyone had the staggered tire look on their cars in the 70's, it was a great look, although many just did it for the "scare factor ". lol
Have you noticed that inside the inner headlights there is different emblems in them .there pretty sweet but it would be sweeter if they projected onto anything that you pulled up to. Keep up the great work and God Bless you and your family. 😊👍🫶🙏🏼
I completely understand about how odd it looks with a narrow front and Widebody rear. But like Queen sang Fat Bottom Girls Make The Rockin’ World Go Round. Mmmmm, LOL 😂
Can you please tell us about the security measures you’re taking or installing onto your Demon 170 and Swinger? What products do you use to keep your cars looking and running good? Also, what factory and aftermarket options are you installing or contemplating installing on your cars?
I rarely park my Scatpack in dicey areas but if need to for even 15 minutes I put the system in "storage mode" and no electronic devices can take it over. I even have to use the key (in the back of the fob) to open the door.
@@bailey9r I ve used the the storage mode for the winter last here in Idaho. But never thought of using when parking it at a store. That is an awesome idea. Thanks for the tip.
i think once you track it a bit it’s gonna stick more, i would go with a set of used widebody wheels to hot swap for seasonal driving, like many have previously said the narrow front and wide ass is the og muscle body 😢
There are sites that sell oem wheels you could buy a 20 x 9 wheel and put on a 275/40r20 tire on the front and put a 20 x 11 rear wheel with a 315/35r20 tire that would be more streetable and save you money in the long run for street cruzin
Couldn’t you put factory hellcat narrow body 20” wheels in the front and 20” hellcat widebody wheels in the rear with some really sticky tires for daily driving?
When I was looking at the 1320, I realized the first thing I was going to have to do was buy a new set of all season tires. I’m pretty sure you can switch the back end tires from your scat to the demon…
Question when you open the doors on the Demon do the windows go down half an inch ? When you are shutting the doors and they are not closing correctly it might be your window activators are not working and opening the windows that half inch to make them close properly ? Try it and let me know . 😂
Did u check if ur window is opening a hair on the 170? Thats the reason for it ,wen windows are all up there's more pressure so wen u see the window drop a fraction its for closing the door easier
Brad, I have a 2015 RT with the Shaker and my doors do the same thing as your 170. Not sure why some Challengers doors shut like mine and your 170 and the others shut like your Scat.
Are you guys determined to stay in the OC? I ask because Temecula would be perfect for you. You can get a lot of house and even property here. For 1.5 you can get a great house here.
Doors just need adjustment...otherwise a great vehicle....but i love my 19 challenger hellcat redeye narrow body.....especially for the price i paid a few years ago😊
Agreed we r part of the family, & i wish u nothing but the best. 🙂.......& As a part of the family i gotta say u need to get rid of that yellow car.....😂......✌️
I think the door issue has to do with the hinge not being properly adjusted. A shim or two should fix the problem. If it doesn't fix it, I would wonder what else they didn't do properly when building the car. It is pretty pathetic Dodge didn't correct this before delivery.
Remember the people building the cars are now laid off...They probably didnt put the most care into them, but I hope my new 2023 Challenger is good though :)
I've owned both. Sold my BMW to buy the Pan Am and have not been disappointed. BMW has some annoying traits that you did not hit on which have plagued the bike for years. Overall though, I thought your review was well done. The Pan Am is not perfect but neither was the BMW. I'm at 7500 miles now with zero issues. Overall what has impressed me most about the Pan Am is its ability to chew up miles without effort. What impressed me the least about the Pan Am and something Harley really needs to address is the size and placement of the rear tail light. Small and hard to see with full bags on the bike. Borderline dangerous. I rigged aftermarket LED's on my tail box to help with that. Otherwise, good scoot. 14 Reply
Yeah I got a buddy of mine just let you know he's got a 2023 yanko Camaro he buys those and has factory that builds him his license and everything but I think he's being that it's the last 2023 I don't think you'll get rid of it I don't think Mark will get rid of his car
My 2023 R/T takes a firm push or pull to close. I feel bad becim not trying to be roungh on a new car, but i guess thats a Last Call quirk potentially. 😅
I'm also in SoCal and in the same situation. Any decent house around here is 1.2 million, so I just bought 1.5 acres and I'm building a house with a really nice shop. I'll be in for a million once everything is finished. As far as the car, if I'm paying 150k plus for a car, you're going to know it's an exotic car. No way in hell I'm spending that kind of money on something that could be mistaken by an average person for a 30k 6 cylinder model. If my car costs 200k, there will be nobody mistaking it for a 30k 6 cylinder 😅. I was shopping for a c8 corvette, but decided to pick up a professionally built Shelby Cobra replica instead. The car is like driving nothing else ive ever driven. Insanely fun
Bought because you can. Status symbol only is what the car is if you don't race. Redeye has the better look just because of the duel snorkel hood. Need to black out the aluminum behind the grill
#7: It's automatic, lol. I've got to stop with that, I sound like a Tesla fan. But MOD2Fame proved you can get a manual transmission to handle the power, and win. Good luck with home shopping, at least you have some toys to help relieve the stress. How about a reverse Cannon Ball in the Demon170?
Since the Demon is built for drag racing, Dodge tried to save weight wherever they could. I'm thinking that the Demon doors are lighter, thus less mass in motion to shut the door. So more effort is needed.
Does the window open a crack like your shaker does? Maybe it's hitting the gasket instead of clearing. I couldn't see it open in the video@@ocmotivator
I have to say it. In my opinion when parked next to each other the Swinger looks better. It's not the color. It's the Shaker and the front fender flares. Mostly the Shaker. Just saying.
I have the Shaker, and the hood is literally my favorite part of the car. I've even researched trying to install a Hellcat motor with the Shaker intact.
Sorry but I just have to disagree with the complaint about the track oriented tires and wheels on a track oriented car, I mean come on, someone that can afford D170 can surely afford a second set wheels and tires for everyday street driving, am I right? I myself could only afford a used Scat Pack but I still have 3 1/2 sets of tires and wheels for it.
My 23 Challenger ScatPack did the same thing your 170 does when you shut the door. You really have to give it a good shove for the door to close all the way. I thought they were all like that. I think Dodges quality control has gone out the window for 2023 and I’m not exactly sure why that is.
Yeah really sucks for the group of people that have big monthly payments just to sit in the garage and not able to drive the Demon 170 as daily. Because the Demon 170 was made for drag strip weapon only.
I love my hellcat. You are correct the Demon 170 wasn't meant to be a street car, but it was purpose built for the track. GREAT that you have two, your swinger for the street, and the Demon 170 for the track. I still wish they had the Demon Hood as an option for the hellcat. I like the single big scoop instead of the snots.

I don’t even valet the scat pack, much less a Demon 170. All I can picture is those videos of those valets abusing vehicles like in Ferris Bueller‘s day off. You are 100% correct Brad, when it comes to the Performance page is not loading quickly. It takes an eternity for them to load. Oddly enough the C7 Corvette has a temperature sensor for the tires. They could have made the front fender flares removable with plugs when you go into the drags trip.
