- This house of worship audit takes place outside an Anglican church from the public easement. I had a few encounters from various members from this congregation with what appeared to be a case of extreme curiosity as to why I was recording. One of the individuals thought is was strange in regards to what I was doing, so I returned the energy back , saying it seemed weird to me what he was doing. Another one approached me with the assumption that I might have had something to hide by recording from where I was standing, I explained to him that I was exercising my First Amendment right to be there , just the same as he was there to exercise his right to be there.

How rude is it to walk up to a stranger and say what they are doing is weird.
What a phony that guy is. He strikes me as the type who smiles in people's faces and then talk bad about them.
Not to mention that dude was weird AF himself.
Most of them need they're phones or computers looked into definitely something not right with some of them so many nonces sticking out like a sore thumb here
Talks down about people who drink alcohol and then leaves church and goes to the liquor store.
A friend of mine was visiting US and said: They were constantly approached by people wanting to help when filming.
Even if they didn't ask for help. They realized pretty fast, it wasn't kindness, but paranoia and fear.....

Tbh i never heard of term "public easment" before starting to watch auditors. No one ever uses that term in normal day to day interaction

The ones who have something to hide are the ones that are guilt tripped into approaching the camera with the demeanour we just observed . Religious institute audits have yet to reach the uk , Furry potato , sheep show and yourself bring such great insights into human nature with this type of audit . so big respect for enlightening us .
Just because you're holding a camera doesn't mean you're required to answer everyone's questions about it.

I get a kick when these people expect/demand answers to their questions and you politely side-step the questions. They are so used to getting what they want, whenever the want. I love when auditors use the silent treatments for that very reason.

I love the church audits, but it sucks that Furry Potato was the only auditor that had enough integrity to also audit mosques. Don’t be a coward.

I don't think people realize that it's rude to suggest you are doing something "weird". If they have to say something nosy and intrusive, they might consider substituting the word "unusual" or "different". Anyway, I'm glad you gave the word right back to him. As for the old man with the accent, he was beyond rude. He was just a Christian (in name only) behaving shamefully.

The thing that strikes me the most in ALL of the church audit videos is how few **young adults** are attending services. Sort of an inverse Bell Curve distribution - lots of little kids, fewer teens, fewest attendees in the 20s and 30s, and then progressively more as the age increases. (Although I think the curve is a little flattened on the young end as fewer young parents are bringing kids with them to church.)
It depends on the location. I've seen some where it's a decent amount of folks in their 20s & 30s
As a (Jewish) house of worship attendee, you're absolutely right. I'm actually in my late 30s, but very few people like under the age of 45 or so are taking up active religion anymore. It's kind of sad. I wonder how many places will even be open in like 25 years from today.
As we get close to dying we tend to hedge our bets.
I don’t know when I was young I went to church allot. Fact is I was the only one who went on Sunday AM AND PM snd Wednesday night. I also did choir.

most places like that, lock their doors and have security watching camera's around the building. getting unsafe here in the U S A.

I find it annoying when someone approaches an auditor with the intention of manipulating, by pretending to be nice just to get what they want. Then when they don't get the information they wanted, their true colors come out.
When someone approaches an auditor to know what their doing and says something like ''It's weird' that you're recording people'' etc.
I would LOVE to hear an auditor reply the same thing the person said and add a little something like..... '' It's weird that you actually walked up to a complete stranger in the public, to ask them what they're doing with they're own private time, in their very own private life, with no consideration of whether or not you'll be interrupting possibly something very important that the person is recording which they may not have a second chance to record' etc. and add an exaggerated '' Now,....THAT'S weird''!!!!! with a fake laugh (with detailed comments that explain what that stranger has done, but doesn't see it for themselves or just doesn't care)

You might have a misunderstanding regarding the easement. You clearly said you were not on private property. That is wrong. Most likely the property line extends to the center of the street or to the edge of it. The easement is nothing more than an agreement by the property owner, the church, to allow use of a portion of their property for the installation of public utilities. The agreement may or may not allow use by the general public. You would need to obtain a copy of the easement document and read it very carefully then you would have the knowledge to support statements such as "I have a right to be on your property". Easements are tricky and complicated. Study them before speaking.
