I will be 46 years old later this year and I have been watching the Cubs since I was 2 sitting on my grandpa's knee. This is the worst I have ever felt about ownership and the front office. The last 2 years, I have given up on this organization and almost completely stopped watching them. For the first time in my life, I have not visited Wrigley, I've not bought any merch and I have not gone out of my way to watch or listen to the games when they are on. I moved to RUclips TV last year and can't get any games except the ones that are shown on national TV and even those games get blacked out. I am in Indiana. The Ricketts have made it harder to watch the Cubs and I am in no way willing to pay extra just to watch them run a team full of mediocre out there game after game. I never thought as a die hard Cubs fan I would ever say this, but I am probably a year or two of awful baseball away from giving up on this organization permanently and I am sad.
The Cubs rake in hundreds of millions a year. They need to spend to get an impact bat and pitching.
This is such a good conversation and it reminds me of a show I watched I am almost sure was like not this season but last season. It was literally before the season started. The chat when they do the pod live can get a little crazy sometimes. I remember some people saying to Cody how the issue with the Cubs even back then was the entire what if issue. I thought of this as the guest was talking about because due to injuries you have this same situation gooing into 2025. At the time Cody kind of poo pood the idea of what if and this is not being said to say someone is right or wrong. The issue is that this team is not complete and you have as they mentioned alot of good players but not a great player(s) so you do fall into the what if. Until you have proven entities what if and not sure is more than fair.

Thank you for still showing up for to one of the most expensive experiences in baseball. The other teams that cost as much as us are all in the post season but we were uniquely affected by the injury bug this season. Our farm system is top in the league but it always seems like we are depleted when injuries strike. Nor will trade any of them as most will retire in iowa.
Jed is doing a great job, signing washed up vets hoping the organization catches lightning in the bottle.

Sign Burns and Sign Tanner Scott. It’s that easy, the kids will fill in the gaps. Go over the luxury tax for 2 years, it won’t kill the Ricketts. 2026 a a lot of money comes off the books.

I don’t know for all the people expect Cubs to be in this post season, what bases they are on?? They just sold all the core players and had a bottom farm system after 2021 season, that’s just three season ago. So how fast you think will turn a baseball team around with no star and no prospects? 1 year? 2 year? They got those traded prospect after 2021 August, it takes at least three years for 90% of prospect to develop. And even though Cubs got those prospect, besides PCA, no one is top 100 prospect and no one is picked at top 10. Bryant ; Schwarber was top 3 picks. I really don’t get why Cubs should be in the playoffs this season! They could if all the things go their way, or they catch a lightning momentum like the Mets. But if you don’t have those, that’s not a failure. I have to blame 2023 season when they overachieved, not the team was ready. So you want them to win, but you shouldn’t be mad if they did not. If you do, that means you are not seeing the reality of Cubs, which is a work in progress. If you don’t enjoy the process of developing, then come when they are ready and in playoffs. I believe next season will, the latest 2026. I am enjoying every bit of the rebuilding so far.
