The car came out super nice, we had a lot of fun with this project, thank you my brother for invited me to make this video together, thank you very much, I really appreciate it very much.
Dude you deserve all the recognition and credit you get. I started painting a lot more recently and learned so much through your videos. Huge Thanks for that
Nice to see a classic getting some love in the paint booth. Shops around here won't touch anything that isn't a late model insurance spritz job. That b&w convertible will make a sweet daily driver and looks more than good enough for cruise nights
1 k sealer is maybe 60 bucks. I'm a budget guy and still used it on my last car and it worked well and provided a smooth surface for my paint. Last thing I want is unexpected reactions. Painting at home has enuf challenges without taking extra risks😬
Looks nice great job!I love painting these types of projects because it really takes a break away from the usual collision jobs which can get boring at times .I think a metallic blue with that white 2 tone would’ve looked really badass !
Great video and good series. Thanks for the mention of tape, abrasive, and spraygun details but I may have missed the clearcoat you used; I’ll check again but thanks for the great videos.
... spray can finish... hahaha DETAIL is what this world Lack anymore.... and I have to be very detailer oriented as a photographer and image editor....so I love and enjoy so much watching people who are so so handy. More than just a good job.
@@PaintSociety I can no longer do my headlights I'm so disappointed I miss it so much I'm definitely trying to stay busy all that time in the hospital and then lying in bed watching your videos always made me happy I'll stop down soon and see you in the fellas
Love your videos. As far as this car goes I would say that the front section is 55 Chevy and the rear looks like that of 55 Plymouth Belvedere. Very cool concept combining the two.
Sorry, but it is not a Chevy 55 rear quarters. The 55 rear quarters where level and didn't slant down as those in the video. Take a look at the 55 Plymouth Belvedere and you will see the same rear quarters. Also pay particular attention to the rear wheel well openings. Not 55 Chevy. Plus, they said the car was a hybrid. I have owned 55, 56, and 57 Chevy's. I know those cars.
Preparing to spray my car this spring, I am considering getting a pop-up awning and wrapping it in painters plastic. The thing that sticks in my head is finding something wide enough to park the car in and paint the sides comfortably. I really like the set up you use. So kind of a goofy question but how wide is your paint booth.
Nice quick job! But did you guys sand that intercoat clear are paint the black directly over the intercoat clear. I'm bout to try my 1st custom 2tone paint job in a few days!
mmm I love bumping heavy metal with these overalls. Lately I've been kicking some raw hardstyle stuff feelin like a machine lol. Has a similar emotional effect to heavy metal for sure
Hey Brian! I'm about to attempt a two tone project myself. Would there be a definite hard line where the two colors meet? Would I need to sand it down before clear?
The tu-tpne paint line is gonna be hard to trim with your funky angles (especially the lower rear angle). There is no dip in the body line right to the rear of the car door -fender height. That means the rear is a wagon or the car started life as a 2 door handyman wagon(or sedan delivery) all other bodystyles (including 4 dr's) had that dip under the rear side glass. This is where OEM chrome angled up to.
I love your channel !!!! I've learned so many great tips, and have become a much better painter. Thank you for the videos and much love bro. God bless and happy holidays!!! @PaintSociety
Love your channel! I have a question. How do you determine the amount of paint to prepare? I’m going to paint the interior of my 65 f100 truck cab, in single stage, and don’t want to mix too much.
Wanted to share a fail with you. I wanted to do some subtle metal flake on a custom job. I mixed the metal flake (.004) with the base. Then hit it with some candy clear to make it pop. It had the look I wanted (I called it ghost flake) but what I noticed afterward is the base coat did not have the adhesion to be a stable base. It would literally peel off like an orange. Is there a product I can add to the base to correct this?
I have a few questions. I'm currently working on my 77 Dodge Ram and, I'm currently using a long board sander air powered and a bosch random orbital electric sander. I'm thinking of buying an air powered either an orbital or a DA. I can't buy both since I'm doing this on a tight budget. The truck bed has a few areas that are towards the larger size. What would you suggest
They said that the bodywork wasn’t perfect and it was a budget job, but it looks really really nice and maybe in person it doesn’t look as good but I think if it were my car I’d be very happy.
It looks good but I can't ignore the rough edge when removing the fine tape at 10:02 The Eagle Abrasives K1000 hand pad used over the clear basecoat part of the video, doesn't that ruin the clear basecoat or it wouldn't matter much because it's white and won't be noticeable at 1000 grit ?! I'm assuming also the K1000 is 1000 grit ? I understand it's unnecessary and can be detrimental to sand paint and should always be avoided ?! How did that get on the other side at 10:12 ? That would freak me out
It’s just paint. If it doesn’t go well just mask it back up and spray some white. The 1000 grit is only touching the clear base which is what the black overspray is sitting on. No line will be smooth unless you sand it down and flow coat 😀
You can also run a plastic razor over the edge and it will take off that slag. But there is no such thing as a perfect paint job. U can find a flaw on any job
The car came out super nice, we had a lot of fun with this project, thank you my brother for invited me to make this video together, thank you very much, I really appreciate it very much.

Looks like all 55 Chevy , possibly a sedan with the roof cut off to make a convertible/roadster. Came out great!
Brian, that car came up top notch. I love watching you paint mate. You remind me of my old man and how the gun just glided in his hand like a bird.

100% sealer is the way to go with something like this
Great to see you guys doing classic cars. To. Looks real nice
Really nice work. An airbrush Chrome strip dividing the two colors would look killer
Came out really nice I injoyed waching this video stay safe Brian

There is nothing better than freshly clear-coated black paint!
Thank you, I just asked about two-tone classics on the FB page about 2 weeks ago. This has important info I can use on my 55 Packard this spring.
Packard? Alright👍 I'm a huge Packard fan😁
56 chevy with 55 tail lights would be my guess. 56 had bullet tail lights. Awesome paint job!
Good job guys!!!
Looks great. I'd like to see and hear that car when is ready...
That 3m gun has a nice fan pattern plus it laid the material down really good 👍
Love that gun
Wow that came out nice. It is art. Love watching the transformation. Great video.
Awesome job painting the car 👍👍
Looks awesome old school ✊😄👍
Love the classic car. Paint job well

super nice job, we want a car polishing video too friend

Great looking project! Is a 55 chevy 4 door with rear door area cut out and body shortened. Then roof cut off to give convertible look😁
Saludos Pedro buen trabojo en las líneas
Wow i love it i love it. Its beautiful that's what i call perfect 👍🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯👨🎓
I still use my old Walcom GEO for base application. It is so efficient and lays metallics perfectly.
It came out really nice 👌 I like it a lot
Definitely looks like a 55 Chevy Bel Air
Very good paintwork maan!
FYI us old school custom painters never use fine line tape. We use regular tape and put light coats over the tape lines.
Looks good 👍

Sup Brian.... love the classics!!! Any chance you can get a chevy c10 on a shirt? I'd buy 2 in every color...
It’s entirely a 55 Chevy, but it’s a “shorty”. Means it was a 4 door that was chopped in half and shortened into a 2 door with standard 4 door doors.
Looks like a shortened 4 door made into a convertible

I need some advice for blending some touchup spots on 2017 chevy colorado.

Do I need a water based clear for metallic silver/chrome paint?
My chrome turns milky gray when I clear it.

It's a 55 chevy someone made a shorty out of
In the booth it definitely seemed much shorter as you mentioned

I have a question. How do you determine the amount of paint to prepare? I’m going to paint the interior of my 65 f100 truck cab, in single stage, and don’t want to mix too much.
