@@PaintSociety just busting your balls cause we love you and what you do. Can’t wait til it warms up to bodywork and paint my sentra. I’ve been watching your videos and taking actual notes.
Well done sir, a job well done is one you’re proud of, “ looks good from my house “. Is never a mantra !. Thank you for hopefully educating the new Gen.. to stand behind their work and not just re charge clients , or worse just send out mediocre work
Good on you for being a real tradesman. A lot of guys would have just sent it. But the fix did look much better to my eye. I’m sure the owner appreciated the extra effort. He bothered to import it, so he obviously cares about it.
I'm not a pro painter but i have painted some stuff and most of the time you can notice the difference and i did not notice it , maybe the camera but it did look a bit better after , i dont know what it was. BUT the point is you fixed it for the customer without taking the easy way out , most would probably just ignore it.
I appreciate you impressing the idea that it will be better all around to walk away from it, rest up, and try again the next day. Too many times in my impatience, I’ve made my work worse! But then again, I was also “overthinking it” 😅
I'm always coming here to watch your videos before I do any paint job so that I will not forget anything, thank you for always posting and showing those hacks it's really helpful , as I'm a rookie I'm actually learning a lot from you.
In 45 + years of collision repair ,i been in this situation , redo it and you will always remember and learn from it !!! ,plus the car will leave looking great !!!
i could tell some what after the car was done the first time when you were pointing it out but man your eye is amazing cuz the second job matched way better great work as always
There def is some like slightly more purple and pale milkiness that looks really OEM and period correct, they def did a really good job with the restoration paint
Yeah i can see what you are talking about, but i bet 995 out of a 1000 shops would have sent that out. Ive honestly seen worse paint matches on factory fresh cars that have never been touched... my '14 Fit is one of them, the rear bumper that's original paint and correct VIN number is a worse match to the untouched body than what you had going on. Big props on making it more better 🙃
@@PaintSociety For sure. Back in the day I painted mostly for fun. I took a few paying jobs just to help pay for my materials and equipment for my hobby. Although I haven't painted in years, I like looking at all of the new techniques, paint guns (mine was a Binks Model 7), and materials used today. I especially like how you show that the struggle is real because it is. When painting, whatever can go wrong will go wrong sooner or later.
@@PaintSociety Understood. That's why I never did it professionally. I only took the jobs that I wanted to take. It was mostly total repaints, and motorcycle frames and tanks and fenders.
If you buy a new car with the intention of having it repainted a new color, would the best course of action be to buy it white from the factory or does the existing coat not really make a difference in those cases?
I think there's an issue with matching colors between on metal (Fender) and plastic (bumper). It's the same on the Mitsubishi Galant EA0 factory paint, espacially on blue and white paint. The plastic parts looking a bit more faded. Same here on that beautiful civic EG. The bumper is a bit more grey than the fender. Good work! I hope after seeing nearly every content from you I will be able to get as good as you. I really appreciate your channel🙏 Thx
Sorry to keep asking Brian but would you mind telling me what the actual static gun that you personally use is? Im very interested in maybe getting 1 and you seem to really like yours and i see you use it alot and i remember in 1 of your videos a while back that it wasn't a crazy expensive 1 or maybe i am just thinking you said that im not 100% sure. Thanks for all the videos and tips and tricks and keep the content coming bro!!!! Thanks Brian.
Flop just looked a touch off. I hate the ones that are sooo close but just not right. Ask Daris, I'm sure I drive him nuts sometimes. Having him look at colors from different angles for his opinion. Sometimes it a bit infuriating.
RHD my bad. Yall know what I meant 😂

@ thats the way to learn. Ty for the love!
Great job man, great eye, and didn’t give up.
I was just about to correct your mistake of l/h drive 😂 good to see you show the wrong shade of the colour match
No problem Brian. Being that I drive on that side , I noted the error straightaway. And yes, we know what you mean.😉😁😀
The fact that you posted this when I’m having the exact same issue is crazy. I 100% agree on that good sleep and coming back with a clear head!
Man, I wish you were a lot of success and remember just take it one more panel if you need to get that perfect match
Man, respect for showing you faults. It really helps us who are still learning. great work as always!

My eye is too good for my health. I wish it wasnt lol
Thanks for all the great videos ❤ I have painted a dozen or so panels from watching your videos 🙌
Thats what its all about!
Fantastic work ethic and dedication to your craft. You’re a painters painter!
Fender got so much paint on it, she be pulling to the right 🤣🤣. j/k
Bro, every time I watch your videos I learn something - excellent advice! 👍
Glad to hear it! Ty for watching my channel

Ty for that!

Ty man for the words. It was just something I had to do. Not only for the car but for myself
I want to paint my EF hatch really bad! wish I had some in person help! 😂
Before repainting the fender was more blue when it's not the focal point unlike the hood at least. I don't paint but I think that's impressive work.
Good match Brian. Great eyes!!
I think so too!
I like the use of a Milwaukee sander.
Well id match colour before starting any sanding so can check all panels around repair panel.
Great job!!!
The struggle is real. Great job!
Real frustrating!

Painting for fun sounds so much more fun. When there is pressure to paint it can really make a guy question his job

Totally. I was so focused on saying it right that I said it wrong. Lol

1:57 I’d like to give a shout out to the bird in the shop that did a fly by.
Hey Brian. Sweet RHD Civic. I see you love your Milwaukee DA. Great blend and job as always. You’re a stand up man. You mentioned cocktail. 😂 Cheers
Haha! Hey that DA is great. Check it out !!
@Just got one. Haven’t tried it out yet.
Oh let me
Know !!
Just curious which sander do you have? 3/32 or 3/16
Which milwaukee are you using to sand clear coat? 3/16?
After you painted the fender and went ahead with the sanding for polishing, did you use 2000 grit only and then started compounding?
I went to 3000
@PaintSociety 👌🏽
Nice Work . What make is the color gun you used? Thanks
Dv1 its in the description
I saw summit has the milwaukee sander like you use. Should i get the 3/16 or 3/32? Thanks for the content. I appreciate your channel so much
3/32. Thats what you need
I've never driven a left hand drive car..... Ever.

I have in france:)))
Having driven owned and maintained one of these.....man I miss my Honda civic.
Nothing like these cars !
Nice
I'm flying in tomorrow bro! I know my schedule is going to be crazy but maybe we can link up
Yes. Shoot me an email. Paint.society@yahoo.com
Take it easy 😅

Uhh, I'm colour blind, I wouldn't know.
Definitely better 2nd go around pays to take the time to make it right.
Always does !!
What’s your daily driver? Looks like an Acura
Rdx suv
A little blend on the bumper corner would have worked
Was thinking about it but the whole
Bumper is so chipped there is no good area to blend
Captiva is very hard to replicate. Had the same problem with mine
Makes me feel much better about this whole situation!

It's not a left hand drive. It's a right hand drive.
looks like it has purple pearl in it
Fender is a bit green
I guess you didn’t watch the whole video
@PaintSociety I did for some reason the second part of my comment never posted I put the second time was loads better
@jojotheman7032 only because you made the comment 7 minutes after the video posted and the actual video is much longer than seven minutes😀
