If you murdered someone 35 years ago, and it is just found out, shouldn’t you still be prosecuted? Is it okay just because someone repents to God? You can be forgiven by God, but still need to live the consequences of your sin in man’s court.

I dont agree that it should be illegal. I think by law it should be disclosed in detail to congregation and they decide. I know a case where a 19 yr old and 16 yr old dating. They broke up and parents charged him . Hes a sex offender. This is before the 3 yr rule law took effect. My husband is a coach/teacher. A junior high girl sent a nude to 2 boys in junior high. They had it on their phone. Considered in possession of child porn. They are underage sex offenders now. Had to go to a special school etc and all because she sent it and they opened it and showed some friends. She admitted they never asked for the pictures. There are some cases that are not cut and dry.
Even inside the church this should be called a crime.!!! God does command us to forgive, but there is also a justce side of Him as well. Forgiveness does not take the place of justice being served. Nowhere in the Bible does it say just forgive and forget the punishment!!! When I was a child and I disobeyed my parents, they forgave me, but I was still punished for wrong doing.
Can you please not feed into Robert's lies by referring to this as a "moral failure" in your title. Which is what he called it. This was not a moral failure. It was a crime against a child.

When a video comes up on YT, the first thing you see, which usually draws you to decide if you want to watch the video, is the thumbnail and the title. Is it not? Alot of people are picking up on this trending story, for obvious reasons, and they don't take the time to really check all the facts, so it's already being promoted as a "moral failure" against "some woman." I know this man digs into his topics pretty thoroughly in his videos, and does a good job covering them. I was just making the point to be careful not to reinforce the lies of Robert. This story is one of the most triggering failures in the church that I can think of in a long time. There have been alot of atrocious behaviors exposed and pastors falling, bit this one hits hard.

And when that didn’t work she waits until he is stepping down to turn the church over to his son?? I hope that Robert Morris is prosecuted if the statute of limitations has not run out. He never repented because he lied and whitewashed the facts to make himself look less guilty. His wife even called Cindy and said “I forgive you” because she was convinced Cindy was at fault, tempting Robert Morris. Ridiculous. A child cannot tempt an adult.
@Jesusandcoffee3392 Apparently, in the State of Texas, the Statute of Limitations Act does not apply to child sexual abuse and to some other crimes. As part of the abuse took place in Texas, when Cindy and her family visited Morris at his home there, it may be that he could still be prosecuted, tried, and jailed.

This man, Robert Morris was to be a Shepherd of his sheep. Do not listen to him personally, but from the crowds that he draws in, he must be a man with a special 'gift' to move and sway people to give into Gateway Ministry. I was shocked to find out he is worth over a hundred million! Sounds like the church has turned into quite an enterprise. And in my opinion alot of power given to one man. Where are the safety blocks in this church? For such possible crimes as this, when the law is broken? Cindy in her testimony said their was a elder that knew. She sent an email to the church for help in paying for her therapy. 🥺 I like to think in their inner circle they all knew and chose to be quiet. My heart is so sad over what Cindy has endured through the years! The sexual assault through her young years is horrible. Men have gone to prison for crimes like this. An thorough investigation should have happened immediately! Never to be taken lightly or swept under the rug! Yes...all of us have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God. But some sins are illegal, and the police should have been called! This should have never happened, she was a young child, to wait 35 years for justice for all involved. 😭❤
I listened to one of his sermons a yr ago , I couldn’t believe the absolute guilt he put on his congregation on tithing !!! I knew right then he was a false pastor , the LORD tells us to give as he purposes in his heart not of nessesity GOD loves a cheerful giver !! Can we stop saying moral failure to describe non consensual child sexual abuse of a 12 year old child who was violated over 4 years. This man is a predator who made millions (over £100 million) from his position as a fake pastor, book sales, speaking engagements etc. I heard him speak when he came to the UK, and he has been lying about this for 35 years.
He himself also confessed that “he looked for GIRLS! that had broken relationships with their dad” wow I mean if that’s not the definition of a predator then I don’t know what is.
When he admitted an affair outside his marriage he should have been removed from the ministry. The victim was 12 which should have resulted in a prison term for Morris.
The church does tend to get hung up on forgiveness. The Bible says you will reap what you sow. And raping a child and then telling “half truths” cannot be tolerated

My question is why did her parents not report this to the police??? This guy should be in prison!!! My son has a friend who was sodomized at age 13 by a friend of the family. His parents never reported it to the police. I don't know about immediately, but later on he began to be quite traumatized by the fact that his parents did nothing.

This situation is sad...however the real lesson here is to go straight to the police instead of talking to church leaders, they WILL discredit you to protect the leaders. I can't imagine the confusion Cindy experienced.

Sadly it was a very different day then, and a lot of sexual abuse was still unknown and in the closet. She should try to have him charged, and also sue for damages.

Imagine the trauma the victim would have gone through all these years and your perpetrator is a mega church pastor living high??? So many Christian are so attracted to the mega church and most often I call it the performance Church rather than a small church that is truly like a family. Sensual christians.
I still go through it too, even though I was in my 20's. He's still out there traveling around the world, deceiving the people, talking them out of their money, telling the sob stories etc.
A couple of years ago, I sensed the Lord speaking to my heart, saying that church leadership on a worldwide basis has been lifted from US leadership due to compromise, false doctrine and self seeking. I preached on this message in Europe, warning the church to realise this shift had happened and that we really shouldn't be looking to US churches and ministries for guidance. It was and is a strong message that each of us needs to decide whether or not it sits in our hearts as accurate. At first I had hope for a younger generation of US leadership. But I have seen so much marketing and self promotion that it's been difficult to see it come to pass that they are part of the answer.

I was told years ago from someone who knew, that in a church in their country a leader had an affair with a young woman in the church (age unknown) and when the other leaders found out they ministered and restored that man privately. My immediate question was did they restore and help the lady? Did the man even say sorry to her? No answer because it was only the man who was important. Both needed to repent but if they ministered to the man, why not minister to them both? I suspect that has happened a lot .
Sadly, there's a "boys club" culture in a lot of churches. I've attended some good churches over the years but the concept of Church discipline seems to be almost non-existent. I understand that discipline can get really messy but if it was used, i believe we'd see a lot less of these behaviors.
I cant go back sixty years and prove i told a psychiatrist at a hospital and a counselor of sexual abuse by a parent. Also to add a parent that refused to protect me. .

Morris did not repent, he did not comfess to the sin he comitted. It was all just a cover up for him to be restored to ministry since he was a fascinating speaker to whom big crowd respondid since theiir itching ears were tickled

As a retired pastor's kid, we are also a unique bunch. We had nowhere to go because other ministers protected our parents rather than confronted them about their hypocrisy at home. Friendship always triumphed over biblical truth.😒

Even though sexual abuse is severe and traumatic, other forms of church abuse are just as traumatic. These can range from speaking harshly to people not in leadership; demanding absolute obedience; shunning; intentional exclusions, favoritism, etc. It's time for a shaking and clean-up of what's been going on.
The moment he sexually abused a 12 yr old girl, he was disqualified from the pulpit. And, he can't even tell the truth about why he had to finally leave the pulpit. Justice and healing for Cindy, and for all who suffer at the hands of a predator.
Nobody answers the key question. She was a minor child and therefore in her parents care. WHY did they not take action when Robert wenr back into ministry?? What about the fact there was a crime committed here? Rape??? Anyone??? It’s not just sin that needs dealt with. We have a justice system for this reason. He should NEVER be restored to ministry. Those who covered it up are just as bad and should never be trusted either. There should be consequences for those who cover up abuse cases even if someone truly repents. I would like to share my testimony,about 2 months ago ,if I’m not mistaken,I accidentally watched the 2 leaders different churches exposed each other. I even haven’t finished watching and out of the blue I cried ,like God manifested to me broke God’s heart.And last weekends on sat and sun ,I just cried nonstop to see what is going on in the churches specially in our nation. I asked God have mercy on us. I feel like God ask to pray for the leader of the churches around the world specially for our country. I had a sign on April 24th’24 when I was driving on the freeway going to small group at the church and when I was driving ,I saw the big light coming down from the sky and all of sudden the light covered the freeway and was so bright ,and at that moment like rapture. I believe Jesus is coming soon ,we need to be ready and pray .The enemy know Jesus is coming soon and he tries to split the churches among believers. I encourage of all believers to pray for the leader of the churches for wisdom and discernments
You cant call it a moral failure and by that imply it was less than it was. Every time he abused the person concerned it was an independent act of abuse. These independent acts went on for four years. He had plenty of time to stop. He proceeded to "preach" to others for over 40 years after this, pretty arrogant if you ask me considering that at any moment his victim (s) could pull the carpet out from under his empire. Now and only now can he really deal with the pride that has brought him to this point.
All of this is coming to light because judgement has begun and it begins in the House of the Lord. Everything done in darkness will come to light. Prophets have been talking about this for years. Many people that we think are the good guys will be shown to be the wolves we were warned about and many people we may have doubted will be shown to be the good guys.

Here's a thought. In Timothy it says that a leader has to have a good reputation with those outside of the church. The more that the church policies itself, the better reputation the church will have. The reason the church has a bad reputation with the world now, I believe is because the world can see the crap that the church not only allows but makes excuses for. Good video.

I'm in SAFRICA and experienced the same thing for years, only, I was the wife in the situation but the moment I stood with the victim, I was the jealous wife. It became unbearable for me and the victims because he was a well respected man, preaching and in leadership. Unfortunately I was seen as the bad jealous wife because I spoke up. He moved out of the country leaving his fam behind, where no one knew his past and he cud carry on as if nothing happened.

None of us would be talking about this nor his church issuing a statement IF the first and best response would have happened: her parents calling the police. Time and time again, children who are SA are given to the wolves by their parents....or parents are wolves. Parents are supposed to be the protectors of kids but now we see, even in the church, parents are neglecting their kids for the love of something else. It's not just Hollywood where a blind eye and ear are turned.😢 I wish Cindy would share what those years were like in her family after exposure. She said she had counseling for decades. Statistically, loving support from family aids the healing process. Where were they? Her sister? Parents? Her friend helped her expose things not family....so sad! So PLEASE understand, this will continue with abusers violating children and going on with their lives until parents pay attention and protect their children. Morris's reputation may be destroyed, but he has enough money to take that destroyed reputation and lay up at a resort with the same wife who covered for him. It's kind of too late.😔

I think it has gone too far for man to achieve the change needed. Too many people are making far too much money for there to be a will for change. Nonetheless, judgement begins in the House of God and I think that is what is happening now.
The dominos are falling. If the "Church" is going to move in power, it has to have a righteous standard. We will face Giants. If you feel led, I would love to learn more about Arc organization and the “lodge” the church has built to reform fallen pastors. Praying for the victims and the Christians who struggle to understand how deeply the enemy is in the camp. We are at war with a kingdom that does not rest, making war with the Church day and night.

I find that a stupefyingly horrendous decision: he should have paid double what she asked to ensure she had all the necessary therapy to recover. He knew what he did and that she was only 12. He bore all responsibility. I want to believe he genuinely repented and allowed God to change his heart & mind, but his callousness is a red flag.

@bettyjoooten2587 It seems the bigger, more popular, and more powerful they are, the harder they fall. Part of the problem lies with the congregations of these mega-churches. They put the leaders on a pedestal and Jesus barely gets a mention. So many people think they are wonderful that they begin to believe it: and then they fall!

You elders in any church you have been put in leadership. Lead don't follow these men at this church should have handled this situation a long time ago. And removed him as pastor and don't let the pastor bully you into silence. Hold him accountable for his actions. Being a head pastor means you should be an example of a man that will live honoring the word of God. Not trying to avoid the truth.

Been looking at Revelation, Chapters 1-3, about the churches. These are, of course, very challenging to us personally as individuals, and also for the Church, especially at this time. It seems to tie in with what's happening at the moment. Thankfully not all churches are bad, and not all pastors corrupt. I'm so glad that people are speaking out about these things, and giving balanced and biblical instruction and encouragement, as well.
honestly, i don't even think that shepherds and overseers should call themselves leaders, i do not see such calling in the Bible (i may be wrong, but it has been bothering me, might call it nudging of The Spirit). Even Apostle Paul told us that, yes, we should imitate him as he imitates CHRIST, but he did not exalt himself at all, on the contrary he rebuked those who sought to follow him or other men in the church and said "were you baptized in the name of Paul" "was Paul crucified for you??!" (1 Corinthians)... and the instruction of Jesus was "feed my sheep and lambs , tend to MY FLOCK" (John 21)

I have a question for you since you mentioned you do house church. I have a similar situation that happened with a relative who is a house church pastor. Upon confronting this family member there was no sign of repentance and when I questioned his role as a house church pastor he said “my church is of no concern to you.” Where is the accountability with a house church pastor? What can be done to protect others? I also tried talking to someone else in his ministry and they said “why are you bringing me into this!?” And were basically appalled that I could even consider this family member may not be a changed person. I know God told me to bring this to light but now it seems the rest is out of my control and maybe that’s God’s plan. But I am now seeing the fault of house church and how there is no accountability in it.
My point was that issues like this cannot fall through the cracks at house churches. At a minimum everyone will know. But denial of these situations is still the main issue of this coming to light. That can happen at any church unfortunately. I'm sorry you had to experience this. Speak up so everyone know. Then move on. Then you played your part

I guess the issue is I don’t attend that house church and the family member isn’t making it known to his church so in this instance it can fall through the cracks and I’m not sure how much I should seek out the church to tell them without it coming across like I’m being vengeful. The only other person’s contact info I have in the house church is the abuser’s wife. She has not reached out since I confronted her husband and has since blocked me on FB so I’m not sure where she stands in this and if calling her will make me look vengeful ie trying to break up their marriage.

I dont agree that it should be illegal. I think by law it should be disclosed in detail to congregation and they decide. I know a case where a 19 yr old and 16 yr old dating. They broke up and parents charged him . Hes a sex offender. This is before the 3 yr rule law took effect. My husband is a coach/teacher. A junior high girl sent a nude to 2 boys in junior high. They had it on their phone. Considered in possession of child porn. They are underage sex offenders now. Had to go to a special school etc and all because she sent it and they opened it and showed some friends. She admitted they never asked for the pictures. There are some cases that are not cut and dry.

When a video comes up on YT, the first thing you see, which usually draws you to decide if you want to watch the video, is the thumbnail and the title. Is it not? Alot of people are picking up on this trending story, for obvious reasons, and they don't take the time to really check all the facts, so it's already being promoted as a "moral failure" against "some woman." I know this man digs into his topics pretty thoroughly in his videos, and does a good job covering them. I was just making the point to be careful not to reinforce the lies of Robert. This story is one of the most triggering failures in the church that I can think of in a long time. There have been alot of atrocious behaviors exposed and pastors falling, bit this one hits hard.

As part of the abuse took place in Texas, when Cindy and her family visited Morris at his home there, it may be that he could still be prosecuted, tried, and jailed.

My son has a friend who was sodomized at age 13 by a friend of the family. His parents never reported it to the police. I don't know about immediately, but later on he began to be quite traumatized by the fact that his parents did nothing.

A couple of years ago, I sensed the Lord speaking to my heart, saying that church leadership on a worldwide basis has been lifted from US leadership due to compromise, false doctrine and self seeking. I preached on this message in Europe, warning the church to realise this shift had happened and that we really shouldn't be looking to US churches and ministries for guidance. It was and is a strong message that each of us needs to decide whether or not it sits in our hearts as accurate. At first I had hope for a younger generation of US leadership. But I have seen so much marketing and self promotion that it's been difficult to see it come to pass that they are part of the answer.

My immediate question was did they restore and help the lady? Did the man even say sorry to her?

Sadly, there's a "boys club" culture in a lot of churches. I've attended some good churches over the years but the concept of Church discipline seems to be almost non-existent. I understand that discipline can get really messy but if it was used, i believe we'd see a lot less of these behaviors.

Even though sexual abuse is severe and traumatic, other forms of church abuse are just as traumatic. These can range from speaking harshly to people not in leadership; demanding absolute obedience; shunning; intentional exclusions, favoritism, etc. It's time for a shaking and clean-up of what's been going on.

I even haven’t finished watching and out of the blue I cried ,like God manifested to me broke God’s heart.And last weekends on sat and sun ,I just cried nonstop to see what is going on in the churches specially in our nation. I asked God have mercy on us. I feel like God ask to pray for the leader of the churches around the world specially for our country. I had a sign on April 24th’24 when I was driving on the freeway going to small group at the church and when I was driving ,I saw the big light coming down from the sky and all of sudden the light covered the freeway and was so bright ,and at that moment like rapture. I believe Jesus is coming soon ,we need to be ready and pray .The enemy know Jesus is coming soon and he tries to split the churches among believers. I encourage of all believers to pray for the leader of the churches for wisdom and discernments
You cant call it a moral failure and by that imply it was less than it was. Every time he abused the person concerned it was an independent act of abuse. These independent acts went on for four years. He had plenty of time to stop. He proceeded to "preach" to others for over 40 years after this, pretty arrogant if you ask me considering that at any moment his victim (s) could pull the carpet out from under his empire. Now and only now can he really deal with the pride that has brought him to this point.

All of this is coming to light because judgement has begun and it begins in the House of the Lord. Everything done in darkness will come to light. Prophets have been talking about this for years. Many people that we think are the good guys will be shown to be the wolves we were warned about and many people we may have doubted will be shown to be the good guys.
Prison would be a good start for Morris to get some redemption.

Here's a thought. In Timothy it says that a leader has to have a good reputation with those outside of the church. The more that the church policies itself, the better reputation the church will have. The reason the church has a bad reputation with the world now, I believe is because the world can see the crap that the church not only allows but makes excuses for. Good video.

I'm in SAFRICA and experienced the same thing for years, only, I was the wife in the situation but the moment I stood with the victim, I was the jealous wife. It became unbearable for me and the victims because he was a well respected man, preaching and in leadership. Unfortunately I was seen as the bad jealous wife because I spoke up. He moved out of the country leaving his fam behind, where no one knew his past and he cud carry on as if nothing happened.

None of us would be talking about this nor his church issuing a statement IF the first and best response would have happened: her parents calling the police. Time and time again, children who are SA are given to the wolves by their parents....or parents are wolves. Parents are supposed to be the protectors of kids but now we see, even in the church, parents are neglecting their kids for the love of something else. It's not just Hollywood where a blind eye and ear are turned.😢 I wish Cindy would share what those years were like in her family after exposure. She said she had counseling for decades. Statistically, loving support from family aids the healing process. Where were they? Her sister? Parents? Her friend helped her expose things not family....so sad! So PLEASE understand, this will continue with abusers violating children and going on with their lives until parents pay attention and protect their children. Morris's reputation may be destroyed, but he has enough money to take that destroyed reputation and lay up at a resort with the same wife who covered for him. It's kind of too late.😔

I think it has gone too far for man to achieve the change needed. Too many people are making far too much money for there to be a will for change. Nonetheless, judgement begins in the House of God and I think that is what is happening now.

If you feel led, I would love to learn more about Arc organization and the “lodge” the church has built to reform fallen pastors. Praying for the victims and the Christians who struggle to understand how deeply the enemy is in the camp. We are at war with a kingdom that does not rest, making war with the Church day and night.

I find that a stupefyingly horrendous decision: he should have paid double what she asked to ensure she had all the necessary therapy to recover. He knew what he did and that she was only 12. He bore all responsibility. I want to believe he genuinely repented and allowed God to change his heart & mind, but his callousness is a red flag.

I knew someone that got a young girl pregnant in the church and he was youth pastor and he was married and he wasn't prosecuted he just quit the church and moved to another church but a different organization they're destroying the lives of our young children just like in the Catholic church and these other churches it has to stop now we are their voices and their mouths we have to speak up and fight for them. No matter how popular or big and powerful these ministers are they have to be stopped in all churches God is allowing the truth to be told

They put the leaders on a pedestal and Jesus barely gets a mention. So many people think they are wonderful that they begin to believe it: and then they fall!

Been looking at Revelation, Chapters 1-3, about the churches. These are, of course, very challenging to us personally as individuals, and also for the Church, especially at this time. It seems to tie in with what's happening at the moment.
Thankfully not all churches are bad, and not all pastors corrupt. I'm so glad that people are speaking out about these things, and giving balanced and biblical instruction and encouragement, as well.

honestly, i don't even think that shepherds and overseers should call themselves leaders, i do not see such calling in the Bible (i may be wrong, but it has been bothering me, might call it nudging of The Spirit). Even Apostle Paul told us that, yes, we should imitate him as he imitates CHRIST, but he did not exalt himself at all, on the contrary he rebuked those who sought to follow him or other men in the church and said "were you baptized in the name of Paul" "was Paul crucified for you??!" (1 Corinthians)... and the instruction of Jesus was "feed my sheep and lambs , tend to MY FLOCK" (John 21)
Church leadership in the New Testament should be a group of elders running the church. The pastors is one of those elders

I have a question for you since you mentioned you do house church. I have a similar situation that happened with a relative who is a house church pastor. Upon confronting this family member there was no sign of repentance and when I questioned his role as a house church pastor he said “my church is of no concern to you.” Where is the accountability with a house church pastor? What can be done to protect others? I also tried talking to someone else in his ministry and they said “why are you bringing me into this!?” And were basically appalled that I could even consider this family member may not be a changed person. I know God told me to bring this to light but now it seems the rest is out of my control and maybe that’s God’s plan. But I am now seeing the fault of house church and how there is no accountability in it.
My point was that issues like this cannot fall through the cracks at house churches. At a minimum everyone will know. But denial of these situations is still the main issue of this coming to light. That can happen at any church unfortunately. I'm sorry you had to experience this. Speak up so everyone know. Then move on. Then you played your part

I guess the issue is I don’t attend that house church and the family member isn’t making it known to his church so in this instance it can fall through the cracks and I’m not sure how much I should seek out the church to tell them without it coming across like I’m being vengeful. But if I had children at that house church I would want to know. I feel it’s a liability. Idk. Thank you for your video.

@@deborahjones4085 I did and the person involved in the ministry I told was appalled that I insinuated this family member could still be hurting people. The only other person’s contact info I have in the house church is the abuser’s wife. She has not reached out since I confronted her husband and has since blocked me on FB so I’m not sure where she stands in this and if calling her will make me look vengeful ie trying to break up their marriage.
