God s grace have❤is far reaching. My sympathy. I have sinned. Out of it came a little song I wrote it says " God is'nt sorry He saved me from SIN, He never regrets it when my faith grows dim - God isn't sorry He drew me Him. But he'd do it all over again. CHO. He'd do it all over again. He'd use the same blueprint and plan. He'd not rearrange, not one thing would I change. But He'd do it all over again.

@anessahamilton9279 for Robert's family, Gateway, and the grandkids.....a very minute/small/insignificant mention of the "so called young lady" who was 12 years old when she was sexually assaulted by a 21 year old man....continuing until she was 16 or had just turned 17. Yeah, his son-in-law thought he was doing damage control.....no mention of worth noting for the victim....a 12 year old girl.

    • @FaytheInGod
      @FaytheInGod 2 месяца назад +5

@@carygriggs7he didnt need to repeat the victim's age or her name. It was very obvious that the SIL meant the girl, Cindy and there may be others as I highly doubt she was the only victim of RM. We only saw part of this sermon & he may have said her name at the beginning tho again we all knew who he was talking about. I dont believe he was condoning Roberts actions or anything else

    • @carygriggs7
      @carygriggs7 2 месяца назад

@FaytheInGod I don't think I said "condoning." I think I said he (the son-in-law) was doing damage control.
The victim, a 12 year old little girl, is the victim of an act by RM.
The son-in-law laid out a list of those hurt (victims) by this coming to light. RM is responsible for the hurt on his wife, his kids & their spouses, the grandkids, Gateway Church, and the vendors.....damage control in a public way is pathetic for the aforementioned "hurt" folks....that is on RM and RM alone...RM is responsible.
The son-in-law should have spent 45 minutes apologizing to the victim....then go home and call RM and say, now it's your move.

I was a child of abuse from the share of 5 to the age of 16 by my father! God has graciously redeemed me and my father was forgiven. Yes, the abused go through continuing trauma - But God! As a young child, my grandfather attempted inappropriate touching as I wanted to lie close to him on the couch. I was 5, uncomfortable, and walked away. I never sat close to him again without other people around. My question is, why did she keep going back? I knew at 5, not to be too close to him. I also kept my secret for 65 years. I feel it only destroyed my relationship with my grandfather, which was too bad. I didn't let it destroy my life. I am not at all condoning what Pastor Morris did over 30 years ago. @@og4409 ...I wasn't going to reply, but since you took the time to type out nonsense, I felt it was worth the time. First of all, praying for her as the victim is a given so if you didn't know that then why did you comment? Oh, I know why? Because people like you are keyboard bullies who like to stir up trouble within the body of Christ. Two sets of families will be forever changed by these horrible acts, which is what I was getting at. The VICTIM and her family have already suffered and need prayer, but it is also Robert Morris and his family that need prayer as well.

    • @og4409
      @og4409 Месяц назад

@@carwen40 I started writing this and then decided I wasn’t going to bother. Thankfully after prayerful consideration I once again decided to respond. I do this because of the victims. This subject and many others need to be examined, discussed and addressed. So here goes.
You have the right to your opinion and your belief. Just as I have the same rights. If I understand your opinion correctly prayer for the victim is a given. Well my opinion, others who have commented on this video, and others I have spoken with are NOT of that opinion. This case and all the others have victims.Yes V I C T I M S. And MY opinion is that those victims need to be acknowledged repeatedly. Despite his referring to this VICTIM as a young lady it is my understanding this ABUSE started when she was 12 years old. She was a CHILD. So while I will pray for myself, for you, and even for the PERVERTED PEDOPHILE CRIMINAL pastor my prayer on this matter will be first for the VICTIM. Just as in any discussion I have about this horrible CSA crime I will acknowledge the VICTIM first and foremost.
Now as far as your opinion of my intentions in posting, well, it is just that your opinion. I have no need to stir up trouble in the body of Christ. It is VERY CLEAR the stirred up trouble in religion today is not my doings. I would like to ask you, since you feel you have the correct information on this CRIME and the Body of Christ, it seems like this criminal behavior continued for a LONG time didn’t it? Weren’t there also many “missteps” in anyone addressing it and even now insulting this poor victim by calling her a “young lady”? Are there not safeguards in place to protect children? Haven’t these things stirred up trouble in the Church? Shouldn’t these things stir up trouble in the Church?
As far as your opinion that I am a keyboard bully, again, that is your opinion. I post online the exact same thing I say in my home, to my family, to my friends and any others I have contact with. It is consistent in all. And I strive to always let it be known what is my opinion, what I have experienced, and what I have observed others experience.
On a final note I would like to share with you my opinion, my experience and the experience of many I know. I truly hope you will read and give some thought and more importantly prayer to this matter. Raised in a religion that has a fundamental interpretation of most Scripture was my beginning. As I grew my questioning of the interpretation grew. During this time bluntly my religion used, abused and tossed me away like garbage. At first I thought my situation was unique. However, as time went by I came into contact with so many others who had experienced the same thing. Part of me was relieved that it wasn’t just me. Part of me was sad that it wasn’t just me, because that meant others went through the same. I observe how it affects me and others. Some survive better than others and sadly too many don’t survive at all. I interpret Scripture to say these are ones the Church is to care for. Yet what do they receive? So many times after being used, abused and tossed away like trash they end up in worse situations. And this Church gives them self righteous condemnation and judgement, Even to the point of some religious leaders and members to call for some to be lined up and shot in the head. Then there are many of these who want to force this belief system on everyone. In my opinion what is worse is the inaction of many Christians. Good well intentioned Christian men and women who do not stir up trouble in the Church, for whatever reason, and remain silent. In my opinion this silence makes them complicit. A great deal of this behavior is perceived by the victims, the individuals abandoned by their religion and family, those without faith, and others as these CINOs being self righteous, judgmental, hypocrites. I hope and pray these lost ones find a way to return to the true Church despite these experiences. I hope the many good intentioned Christians who sit by while these CINO leaders and members continue on this path will see a need to reach out to those victims and even the perpetrators in an attempt to save all of us. In my own life there have been some very good faithful Christian men and women who have reached out to me and others. Unfortunately they are a minority. While they have never condoned anything they believed to be sinful they have also never condemned / judged anyone.
In my opinion none of us have the complete correct interpretation of the Scriptures. I also believe that we ALL will be judged. We will be judged by a perfect judge with a perfect law with a perfect verdict. And that is the only judgment I will accept as perfect and just.

Idk, I'd like to hear RM's comments about his actions and what steps he has taken to rehabilitate himself. Yes, I'm sure he has confessed his sins to God and Jesus has forgiven him but the sin in the stylish realm (mind, will, emotions) takes work on our part. It isn't an misty Preston process! The fact that RM even offered to buy Cindy's silence "so he and Debby could start a church" (probably because he knew nobody else would hire him to be on staff if he told them the 'whole' truth) still bothers me! That tells me that he still had/has no clue of the lifelong damage he has done to Cindy as well as to her family and friends that trusted and befriended him! That to me is deceitful behavior! Let the courts decide! Now, multiply this situation by the thousands or more for all those who've had their innocence taken away in their youth but who are still suffering in silence!

It is my understanding that he apologized 30 yrs ago, and that the church knew about it. Yes, he did wrong, but aren't we called to forgive as Christ forgives us? I know how difficult forgiving is in this situation having been horribly abused and cheated on myself for many yrs. God's grace is greater than the pain of the abuses. What bothers me most is the way some of Robert's closest friends have totally turned on him for something he did and repented of 30 yrs ago. Thank God that He doesn't treat us this way. Yes, we should have love and care for the abused, but we also must love those who have acted as our enemies. I pray that Jesus will grant to all His grace, mercy, forgiveness, love, and faith.

As a victim of child, abuse, sexual assault as a child, this is something that I had to live with all my life and often wondered where the adults were to protect me. It was a man that lived next-door to us. He sexually abused me and my sister, and a friend of mine that lived across the street it affected my life and something that I will never forget. In this man that lives next-door when he knew we were going to tell our mother that’s when he took off and never came back. I had to overtime him to forgive him. I don’t know whatever he did after that, I pray to God that he didn’t molest any other little girl, this trauma affected me all my life. I never felt good enough. I felt dirty. I felt so many emotions I can say this if it wasn’t for God I wouldn’t made it through the tragedy of all this is there’s two families that are hurting because of what Robert Morris did, I pray that God can restore both families and embrace and love them and hold them close to his heart. Robert Morris is only sorry because he got caught. If he had revealed this earlier, before he started a church, and made millions of dollars, this would be a much different story. But he didn’t. I bet he prayed every day that this girl would not reveal this. Yes, God forgives him, but let’s not put him on a divine pedestal, this was not just a mistake, it was a deliberate attempt to have sexual relations with a 12 year old. While he was married. And had a son. And he was a preacher. And he never disclosed this to anyone. That’s messed up. This isn’t just an affair, or stealing, this guy ruined this girls life!

I so appreciate your sensitivity and understanding of how far reaching sexual abuse is!! I was abused by a youth leader and didn't tell my parents for 20 years. When I did, they chose not to say anything to protect his family! Also, I was married for 25 years before my eyes were opened to my husband's acts of abuse with our daughter and then later our granddaughter. He has never admitted any of it and he has had no consequences. My daughter then married a man that was an abuser. Our family is so dysfunctional and torn apart. I have, alone, tried to be there for everyone but now at 63, am unable to handle life myself. Sexual abuse of any kind changes your brain and therefore your decision making process. I am so thankful that through it all, God has drawn me (many times kicking and screaming) to Himself. I know God uses all for our good and His glory and this is what brings me comfort! Thanks again!

How could they have served feeling guilty or shameful? They believed in their forgiveness. They committed to serving the church. They’ve done this for decades. It’s like we are judging this act and refusing to be Christ’s love towards Robert and Debbie. Don’t you see that outwardly loving Robert and Debbie will not lessen their consequences?? Gateway has been my place of worship two different times. I have watched Robert’s sermons many many times. For people to even infer that Robert is not a repentant man…..I may be missing something….but have we not seen that fruit with our own eyes? People need to look at his heart not his sin. This is the exact thing that Jesus did in his ministry. Matthew 15……what comes out the mouth is what defiles us. These things have not come out of Robert’s mouth…..he is a repentant man. He’s been in counseling has he not? The woman that’s going all over the place to continue spewing her bitterness…..she needs to repent and let Jesus heal her. Bitterness is just as damaging to the body of Christ. I was molested by two men when I was 6 years old (am 70 now). I carried that bitterness for 24 years until Jesus healed me. Noticed I have gone 40 years without bitterness…..what’s wrong with this woman that cries she’s a believer, but yet she still walks broken. If she is truly a believer then she needs to be healed where she does not want to see “justice” done to her perpetrator. Does the body of Christ forget about forgiveness….do they not preach the Jesus of the Bible. I am disappointed that this sin was hidden. But I am more ashamed that the body of Christ does not heed to the scriptures. Let go of the hurt, the bitterness, the unforgiveness, the hate, the retaliation…..let this Jesus of the Bible heal your wounds. He will do that if you ask him.

Out of all the men that served God in the Bible, they too had to repent, which they did to be able to serve God and bring others to Christ.
Robert Morris was definitely in the wrong, but I truly believe he has repented.
He has been greatly used by God since repentance.
I don't know if he asked the woman and family to forgive him and possibly this is what he needed to do for them to get through the horrible acts that he did.
I do not know what the family or the woman went through mentally and I do pray they can get through this now by forgiving and moving on.
I can understand the anger, frustration, hurt and pain, but after 42 years, forgiveness is their only way to find peace for themselves.
Did she and the family try to call Robert Morris before going public and try to talk about what happened?
Maybe, he has tried to call you to ask for forgiveness, if not, he should.
If he has called and they didn't accept his repentant apology, then they should again try to reach out to him for their own peace.
Joyce Myers was sexually abused by her father and she found peace by forgiveness.
Yes, it took her many years, but that is when she got peace from God.
Unforgiveness holds us captive and keeps us bound from going forward.
God has forgiven many sins of many of His teachers and followers.
He forgave murderes and used them, of course after repentance.
That did not help the ones that were murdered, they could not forgive the murderer but Jesus could and did, just as we should.
I'm sure the murderer relived those murders over and over even after repentance, because even though God can forgive them it is so hard for us to forgive ourselves a lot of times.
Eventually we can when we truly understand His forgiveness and that is when we can forgive others.
May God's forgiveness fill all of these hearts so all may feel the freedom of peace that God wants us to feel.

He never repented. What you have to ask yourself is why you are so dead set on protecting and defending a pedophile. This pig continued to lie about what he did, and when the truth came out, he still lied- calling her a "young woman" when she was a little girl; and saying a "inappropriate relationship" when he groomed and molested a little girl and stuck his fingers inside her for almost FIVE YEARS. When she filed a civil suit against him in 2005, she only asked for $50,000, to cover the cost of lifelong therapy she has needed; Robert and his lawyers told her no- we'll give you $25,000, and you sign an NDA, agreeing to never tell anyone what was done to you.
That is nowhere near asking for forgiveness or repentance. Jesus said it is better for a man to have a millstone hung around his neck and be tossed in the middle of the sea, than what He's gonna do to him, for hurting a child. Stop coddling pedophiles and start caring for the victims. It's sick minds like yours that kept this evil man in the pulpit for all these years.

God also wants Morris to make amends. He should never be in front of a congregation again unless it's to apologize. This son in law and daughter and the rest of his family are caught in the cross fire. If Morris was repentant he would've come totally clean years ago. Instead he referred to this as an affair with a young woman. In fact it is statutory rare when it involves a minor. Let's protect children and not preditors.

Are you serious? So are you saying the opinion of that innocent little girl does not matter? I am so sick of people saying if he asked for forgiveness that is enough. Well it is not. This "who are we to judge" nonsense is old and falling on deaf ears. Asking for forgiveness does not mean he is a changed man. Even in his admission, he tried to minimize the impact of his predatory actions. He attempted to blame the little girl, and yes, she was a girl, not a young lady. This predator caused irreparable damage, so no, asking God for forgiveness is not enough.

@@karenhatmaker7775 this needs to be a lesson on how to properly hold leaders accountable. The rush to forgive and restore the leader is so misguided. It's always about the leader needing to stay in our her back in the pulpit and victims are told to forgive and move on with their life. And if they struggle with that, they're not good Christians. The Church has so much work to do. This formula that you've laid out is the go to response for decades and it's the reason so many leaders have not been held accountable and so many victims struggle with what happened to them for years or even decades. Until the victims become the priority and the Church learns to truly bind up their wounds, no amount of restoration will matter.

I (Linda) respectfully would like to say this happened 40 years ago. Since then, as far as I know he has not continued in this sin.. The American Church is soft. We have yet to learn what the forgiveness of God is. It is easy to sit in judgment on one and not the other. I understand this went on for 5 years. She said her parents knew about it. Obviously, they did not know about it until many years later. Why 40 years later? I am sorry, but the victim is not pure in this. At first, yes in the beginning, but now? If we didn't need a Savior, we wouldn't have one. If we didn't need a Redeemer, God wouldn't have given us one. If we didn't have a Deliverer we wouldn't have one. We live in a battleground. The Church is terrible at destroying their own wounded. This whole situation at the root is a grievance between 2 people. I question the intentions of the 50 plus year old victim. This should have been dealt with years ago. Jesus gave instructions in Matthew 18. There is a process. The Church is negligent in following the Word of God concerning these things. If God forgives, then who are we to not forgive? A mature person in the Lord will forgive and move on. People who leave the Lord because of what another does to them are spiritually immature and refuse to trust God. When we idolize men, they will fail us. When we worship God and keep our focus on the Lord, we will grow in grace and favor with the Lord. I trust that God will bring healing on all levels in this. Just as King David committed adultery with Uriah's wife, Bathsheba, who became pregnant with his child, and then David killed Uriah using the enemy to do it, God sent a prophet to confront him with his sin. David's immediate reaction was repentance. it is amazing that even under the Law of Moses, God did not remove David from his position and order him to be stoned. There were consequences that effected his family, but he remained King and is still honored as being in the Messianic Family Line. REPENTENCE IS NOT AN EMOTION, IT IS A CHANGE OF BEHAVIOUR. This has been seen over the years in Robert Morris's ministry. I am not saying he is perfect or pure, but neither is the other party. FORGIVENESS IS BIG WITH GOD. WE NEED TO GROW UP AND BECOME THE SONS AND DAUGHTERS HE HAS CALLED US TO BE. We must remember these people are part of the Family of God and pray for healing and wholeness for all involved. We must lift up the person who had this happen to her and her family, and the Morris family that these things can be remedied according to the wisdom of God and not the laws of man.

Changed behavior???? 😂 Are you serious? He gave a sermon many times on Jake’s Motel that he dedicated his life to God in 1981 ROOM 12. He said that he may have sinned but he never returned to sexual sin! He said if you were saved when you were 8 and you sinned sexually in your teens, that your salvation was not real like his wife Debbie. He said Debbie’s salvation was real at 8 because she was a true believer during her teen years. He said that he turned in 1981 and that’s when he was actually saved because he didn’t turn back to his son knowing dang well he did what he did from 1982-1987! He preached this over and over! I was thinking for years that I wasn’t truly saved when I was 10. He said my family was cursed because we weren’t tithing. We started tithing! I reached out to gateway for help from my cheating ex husband! The pastoral care made excuses for my ex and made me feel as if it was my fault! They made excuses for the cheater!!!!! This would be totally different had he been honest and said that he was “saved” in Jake’s hotel and fell back into sexual sin, but he didn’t! He made us feel that our salvation wasn’t real! This is not a man who changed! Everyone let him preach room 12 over and over, making people feel like their childhood baptism wasn’t real! There’s something wrong with this on soooooo many levels! Unbelievable that anyone would say this! How inconsiderate of the victim! It’s so hard to come out because you are afraid of people like you!!!!! This is not God’s fault, this is a man’s fault! He lied for years! We also went to a 911 couples counseling after another affair with my ex. That couples home group also blamed me, “the wife” and made excuses of my ex with his porn addiction! That MAN, Robert Morris, needs to publicly apologize and needs to be tender towards Cindy! Unreal!!!!!!!!!

I agree with you 100%. I have listened to numerous messages from Robert Morris that has taught me about the awesome God we serve. I don’t need to hear any apologies from the man of God Robert is today. Believe me, I have no doubt that the sorrow and the grief he is experiencing now is so much worse than any of us can imagine. The shame of the sin he had committed over all of the decades ago, has opened a wound to bring on much pain and sorrow to his entire family and his church family. I was on the other end of the sin of betrayal by my husband. Trauma is awful and I’m sure he is more concerned about the pain that this has brought on to his wife, children and grandchildren. God bless.

I wonder if every person that has judged Robert Morris for what he did 35 years ago would want to stand up confess for the world to hear all the dirty rotten sins they have been guilty of. I have listened to many messages from him. He has said many times that when he first became a Christian he was not a good person and that God had forgiven him of much. Whatever happened to the scripture that says that God forgives and chooses to remember it no more. It's people that can't forgive. If God forgave him for it what should we do There is only 1 sin that cannot be forgiven. Look it up. I was a victim of sexual abuse at the age of 10. I waited at least 25 years before I told a soul. It's true it cause me serious problems but because of God's Love and Grace I chose to be healed and delivered. She has held this thing over him for years and she needs to do the same thing.❤

I don’t believe she (Cindy) has held anything over Robert Morris. She’s been through a lot and has carried it . God is working on her heart and it’s a process I believe.
I also was abused at the age of 5, 6, 7 years of age by several men. I knew there was a God and I never questioned him at that age but I had a lot of problems growing up and a distrust of men. So it was hard to learn to trust God because even my own father abused me. I have accepted God’s love and grace but it was a process for me.
You’re telling people to forgive and yet your words sound like you don’t forgive Cindy….where’s the love for her? Do we pick and choose who to love and forgive? I don’t think so .
What leaves a bad taste in my mouth is his ministering about love, grace, mercy of God and yet wasn’t really honest in the sin he committed to a child ….not a woman.

When I heard this First thing ,I thought was Jesus words to the accusers of the woman caught in adultery, "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." Then I thought of king David, his sin of adultery with Bathsheba and his trying to cover over his sin, even to the death of her husband Uriah. Sin is sin and we need not brush it under a rug, I am not saying that. But God is a very merciful God and does forgive and restore what the locust has eaten, and we ALL need to remember that. And the other point is this, this is all from Satan to destroy the church, his family and to cause, at the least, great division, criticism and judgment. But each of us need to remember," For ALL have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God", all of us! and failed the Lord and our families at times, some much worse than others. Jesus also told us, Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. I am praying for mercy from his church family and that great glory and good, and healing to come for those believers and spiritual growth. God can and will bring beauty from ashes for those who place their hope and faith in Him.

There is no sin that God did not forgive on the cross , both small and big . Robert Morris has repented before God, and I believe God has forgiven him. But the church will not . I know he has to face the consequences of his actions. But the church should be about restoration of the victim and offender . Let’s go to the word and see how the Bible handle it Forgiveness is the 🔑 as God has forgiven us . The same measure you give will be used against you. Again, let the lord comfort the victim and church, let’s not destroy each other , but know that we have an enemy. Lets tender grace , for by grace we are saved, not works . ❤️

I was molested by my pastor from ages 12-14. I appreciate what the church is saying to victims of this type of situation. I never received any counseling. Sadly, there were at least 6 we know of that this happened to. Many of the church members blamed us. Many never spoke to our families again. He actually went on to preach at another church. We felt like we were the wrong ones. The way this church is handling this is the right way to do it. If this has ever happened to you, please talk with someone and get the help you need. It has gone on to affect my life and my marriages. But this is true for any molestation - not just a pastor.

Thank you for addressing the fact that though God is a God of love and forgiveness, God IS a God of justice! Robert Morris has not truly repented; rather, he continues to deflect blame. However, "whatsoever a man sows, that he shall also reap!" My heart is so heavy for Cindy for the many years she suffered without support. Many of us who have been abused, have been victimized again by the church, who sides with the abuser; listens to and believes the narcissistic lies of the abuser. Jesus knows the truth! Luke 12: 2 reminds us that "there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known." For all the brokenhearted, Jesus has promised that He "will never leave us or forsake us." Keep clinging to the Lord through this horrific trial. Cindy is a living testimony of her faith in the Lord through this whole sordid time, bless her heart. Clinging to Jesus is what has helped me to heal from years of abuse. Isaiah 42:3 has always encouraged my heart. May this verse encourage many who are greatly suffering in these days: "A bruised reed He will not break. And a smoking flax He will not quench; He will bring forth justice for truth." Thank you for sharing your thoughts in the midst of your own heartache. May the Lord be the "lifter of your head," as Psalm 3 encourages us all!

The pastor recognized this situation, asked for forgiveness, was removed from ministry, faced the parents and at the time the girl. More than 40 YEARS have passed since this situation happened. This unfortunate situation came already to light and exposed a long time ago.
And here is the question. WHY this thing is coming out once again? Is not this already confronted and resolved? Why this women is coming publicly NOW?
Out there there's a spirit in these type of circumstances in which not letting go and destroying lives forever is the ultimate purpose. Including victims. A non reversible mindset where condemnation and shame will never go away. A whole movement drowned in hatred that is willing to go more than 50 years ago and bring to life with the ultimate purpose of performing assasination.
Let's not rush into join the lines of virtue signaling where most people run to to gain morale standard for others to see. Instead, let's open our eyes and see what our Lord taught us. To see the intentions of the heart.
