- Dr. Tony Evans‘ youngest son, Jonathan, told the Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship (OCBF) congregation during a Father’s Day message on Sunday that his father didn’t share any more information about his unnamed sin than he did with the whole church. Jonathan serves as OCBF’s Associate Pastor of the NextGen Ministry Area and supports his father in teaching, preaching, training, and pastoral care. He is a former NFL fullback and a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary.

My name is My View My Opinion (MVMO) & I am a Podcaster, on RUclips. Due to safety concerns on the internet, I do not share my personal information anymore and I ask that others respect this. Also, I'm against the cult of personality & the promotion of self. I have no desire to "make a name" for myself. That's odd in this day & time I know, because most strive for this. Too many folks make themselves the center of attention instead of helping others first & allowing the information they share to be the focus of folks attention. Many crave applause, acceptance, & "fans & followers". I believe in letting the information take center stage.

Learned this tactic in law school and continue to do so as a practicing attorney. It’s a classic lawyer speak. That statement was meant to look as if it could mean two different things. So, when there’s more investigation into it, the person who wrote it can rightfully say that he was telling the truth.
Yep! But what baffles me is how many thousands of ppl can't see thru it and when you try to explain it to them, they still don't get it sigh.....

I said the moment I heard Tony Evans stepping down there is far more to the story than what he was saying? When I recently heard he was remarried, I was living out of state and did realize his 1st wife had passed. After finding who he married, I know instantly something is not right and will be revealed sooner rather than later.
For me it was no brainer that he was being blackmailed... and somebody out there somewhere knows something he obviously doesn't want to get out...
If his behavior is over 30 years old, in my opinion, it has to be something pretty bad... and I'm not sure I'm buying that it wasn't a crime, because after 30 years, what else would you be afraid of getting out but criminal Behavior.

The other disturbing part of both Morrison and Evans "stepping down" from ministry is the immediate or imminent action to place their children into pastoral positions. These churches are not an inheritance for man, but a holy trust and a bond to Jesus Christ.
Without knowing the facts, those family members need to heal and recover from the shock and betrayal of trust. The congregants need time to renew from this intense bodyblow. Trustees and decons need the Holy Spirit to guide them in their ministry to restore the churches and bring them back to God.
I understood from his statement that he Tony, convey to his children that he was stepping down.. however, I don't believe that he told them what it was!!!

We all want wholesome pastors and sadly these pastors skip over what the Bible says for the men who hold the Pastor office.
You’re to be blameless, no scandal, husband of 1 wife ( no divorce. After death is ok) have his own house in order, meek, no anger issues , and so forth. That why many can not fill this spot.

I'm a lover and an admirer of Pastor Evans but I was surprised to hear that this "sin" was committed some time ago( and I.was taken back by it)so why now do something about it and not before which isn't in keeping with his character.
The engagement I saw, so I never got the impression they didn't know. They came on stage before it all happened and held hands. I'm praying he does what God wants and doesn't hide. Now I dont believe Lois cleaned up anything...no

These Pastors need to fall down on their knees and repent to God and the people they have crushed. I just left a Ministry where the Pastor was narcissistic, verbally abusive, hated black women, and let Jezebel ran the show, who wasn't even his Wife. I am heartbroken, but I will heal and move on eventually.

I hate to spread rumors but I heard on another RUclips channel the reason that Tony Evans stepped down and yes it was blackmail from a certain community.
Its interesting how easily Christians lie. Forget about the verse that says a liar shall not tarry in my sight.
Just because someone “goes live” doesn’t mean they are telling the truth.
I feel that the Elders should have brought Paster Evans before the church body, spelling out the purpose of the sudden stepping down. Pastor Evans, then could have addressed the gathering of saints and visitors. Whatever is in the butter milk will alternately rise to the top. "Let us all pray."
I was a member of OCBF for a few years many years ago. While a member, Pastor Evans was very vocal and clear that, if you’re a leader in the church and you commit “sexual sin”, you must come before the church congregation, publicly confess your sin, and ask for forgiveness from the church. Then you are to step down from your position and be “restored”. And after this period is over, you can be officially restored to your leadership position. This public restoration also happened before the church. I was still a member when I saw this happen during a church service for some member of leadership who had cheated on his wife (the restoration part).
So for Pastor Evans not to hold himself up to the same standard he has required of others is the problem and the hypocrisy of it all. If he had an affair and cheated on Lois while she was alive (which is the rumor), and covered it up for years while requiring his leaders, elders, children and deacons to do otherwise. Then, that is truly shameful, and he deserves the consternation he is getting.
Mr. Evans is being blackmailed!! He is trying to get in front of it! Will probably will be made public .😢🙏🏽 Romans 3 no one is righteous, but he is disqualified from ever being a pastor again!! Titus 1:7. That’s why the Bible states not to trust in man. Jeremiah 17:5
Not sure if I am going on off track right but I attended Hillsong London a number of years and his famous daughter use to be a guess speaker, never connected with her sermons at all. young folks loved her. I never connected with her sermons

I agree! Upon reading the vague statement of his stepping down, the word "obfuscating" came to mind: to make unclear, hard to understand, especially deliberately. So sad. It's obvious to me, as you pointed out, there's no repentance without clarity.
....for those saying, "thats between him and God,I don't care what he did". He certainly does that's why he's lying and dodging truth.

Tony Evans is a false teacher that has perverted and twisted the scripture for many years. His error in teaching has become the standard for many Christians, that most today believe the things he shares as truth.
The fact this his son is standing and preaching in his father's place is also a perversion of biblical standards because he was never reviewed to be qualified as an elder to lead. His son is given the place to preach simply based on the standard of being the son, and not Elder qualifications. Why is he preaching is ridiculous when a qualified elder should be the one leading the Church.
If Tony Evans has temporarily stepped down to sin from long ago, it also means he stopped being qualified as an elder long ago and has been living with a lie, living unwisely, lost self control, and has now lost his reputation. All these are the same qualifications required by an elder yet hiding this sin has disqualified him repeatedly for yrs
Tony Evan has permanently disqualified himself from ministry but now is trying to keep control of the ministry and the money thru his family and his son taking over. this is a corrupted and evil people and church organization for they all continue to support the lie he has lived and in wanting to come back in the future. The whole church is in sin.
