- Congratulations to our senior pastor, Dr. Tony Evans, and his new fiance’ Dr. Carla Crummie on their engagement! As they enter a new season of life and ministry as a couple, our thoughts and prayers are with them. May their union be blessed and filled with God's wisdom, love, and grace.
One of the regrets we have as children is hindering our father from getting remarried after our mom passed. Our father honored our wishes but his health deteriorated quickly. We have been providing 24/7 care for our father. I wish we had supported him but we were just too broken to see anyone else in our mom’s place. Please allow your parents to love again. From my heart to yours ❤️ Blessing to the Evans children for supporting your father. You will be happy you did.

I'm not gonna lie this was the most respectful and honorable engagements i've seen since the lost of a pastors wife going into a new relationship. People need to take notes because they don't realize how it affects the family and congregation! It's easy to love and accept Dr. Carla, i believe she would be a great addition to Dr. Evans Life.. I've experienced losing a 1st Lady and the pastor removing every memory of her in the church while dating the new wife. It totally devastated the congregation and caused great disrespect towards the new wife. There is a better way and we've just witnessed it here. I'm so happy for Dr. Tony and Dr. Carla.

My childhood friend passed away on a Thanksgiving morning, I was due to return at the hospital the following morning but got the news from her husband that she had pass away during the night, she called all three of her children prior to informing them not to stand in his way of finding happiness again. In a similar situation as the Evans it happened quickly but fondly. My friend husband made a deliberate call to inform me of his plans for marriage to someone that I had known for such a long time and attended to wedding. After 23 yrs they are as happy as can be. I am also happy for both of them.

The scriptures acknowledge that he can marry again. It’s not about “production”. He did it ‘decent and in order’ in front of the flock that he ministered to. His ministry goes beyond “brick in mortar”, Dr. Evans ministers to the world. 🌎 There is NOTHING dishonorable that he has done. It is permissible according to the word of God. Blessings and peace. 😊

I literally cried...tears of happiness when I heard this news. I've never met this family but I've often prayed for them, specifically for Dr. Evans to find love again. God is really so special & does special things for His children💞 May He bless this new union🙏

Just looking at Sweet Priscilla I can almost feel her pain. It’s the pain of that lump in the back of your throat that you have to hold there or else you’ll break down crying. Holding it in is painful. I hope she finds peace to release that pain. Knowing that her mother is so proud of her and that she’ll see her again 🩷

I attended the Legacy Live event in April and when his 4mo of marriage came up everyone smiled for him. It's hard, I went through it too but she may have felt that she was losing her mom all over again. I agree it's the end of something but also a beginning.
My father and mother have been married for all of my 46yrs and are still together both in their 70s and reasonably healthy. However, if one of them passed I would not stand in the way of either of them remarrying. You can die from loneliness. Their happiness is paramount to me. Congratulations Dr Tony Evans.❤️🙏🏾

My late husband's older children couldn't accept their dad marrying someone that was a couple of years younger than him. I loved my late husband, he was happy, and that was all that mattered. We were married for 151/2 years, I took care of him until his death.
When I became a born again believer Dr. Evans and Pastor Charles Stanley were one of the first teachers to break down the word of God to this then “babe” in Christ. I relocated to Dallas after Grad school and enjoyed the teaching and wisdom that he continued to deliver in EVERY season. He has been faithful through loss, hardship, COVID, and has been a symbolic spiritual father to many souls. I love his example of walking in God’s promises. Even in this decision, I believe he is honoring the Lord. Thank you for all that you have done and been to me in my faith walk Dr. Evans. Though I have moved further away, you STILL are my favorite voice and teacher regarding the gospel of Christ. May you RICHLY enjoy the goodness of God and the Fruit of your labor in EVERY season of life!
I can relate to this. For me it is Dr Tony Evans, Dr Charles Stanley and Pastor Chuck Swindoll. I live in the other side of the world but listening to their sermons and teachings online helped me so much in my spiritual walk. I am forever grateful for them. Im really glad OCBF puts up the livestreams of the preachings. It feels like I am there.

Ion know how to feel about this one. Looking at his adult children faces the entire time tells me their not so joyous about this new journey. Which is very understandable. Because I myself thought the late beautiful Dr.Lois Evans' memories and history of their love and legacy would have been enough to carry him out through the rest of his days. Just him and Jesus. And then Dr.Crummie was a friend of Dr.Lois'?! Nahhh that wouldn't work for me. I respect and love Dr.Tony Evans teaching and I'm a virtually viewer plus I've learned so much by studying my Dr.Tony Evans study bible so I feel somewhat like family. I never thought I’d ever find love again..But God! I remarried and the good Lord is blessing us tremendously. I was just thinking two days ago as I was listening to one of his sermons. He deserves a wife (another chance at a marriage) but I know everyone grieves differently and then I see this. Wow ! I’m so happy for them both . I’m sure each of their late spouses would approve. So happy to see his children supporting him in this new chapter of his life. Praise God !

I'm happy for Dr. Evans who has found a new companion. My father is a pastor and we lost our mom due to cancer. They had been married over 50 years. As children/grands, it was hard when my dad decided to remarry because it reminded us that our mother was no longer with us. It seemed as though we grieved all over again as if my mother had just passed. I often told myself and my siblings, " That life goes on for us missing mother, but for dad he is missing a lifetime partner who he laid next and woke up with him for over 50 years. And although, we all have experienced loss, but for dad it is different, it is a loss on another level." To Evans children/grands, it is hard, but God will see you through. I know you want your dad to be happy, but it is a reminder of your major loss. Your dad will always love your mom and no one could ever take her place. She will never be forgotten. Thank you for supporting your dad in the midst of your broken hearts. Praying for Dr. Evans, his wife to be, the children/grands and the church family as you walk into a different season. I have much love for your family.

Dr. Evans, when you were at Glen Este church in Batavia, Ohio, the Lord put a word in my heart about you. He said you were in communion with a lady. That you would be getting married. Wow! God is so good. My husband and I got together four years ago, after suffering great losses. We were 65 when God brought us together as man and wife. You are never too old to ding love again. I am an advocate for Christian marriage and understand "till death do us part". Everyone knows how much Dr Evans loved sister Lois. While its exciting that Dr. Evans has been blessed with someone else to share the rest of his life with, putting myself in the shoes of his children, especially his daughters...i feel some way because of who this lady is...the friend of his deceased wife. I specifically remember a Facebook live with his daughter about a year ago featuring Ms Crummie..she was introduced as a family friend and one who was set to help grieving wives within the Oak Cliff Ministry. If i was a child of Dr Evans, I would be upset because instead of supporting us and remaining my dad's friend and the family "auntie" , you low key came and hooked up with our dad. I know the Evans kids love their dad and perhaps are going along with this as they don't want to hurt him but some part of me feels they're not 100%... they're maybe wondering how could auntie do this to us?!

Interesting because that's not how I saw it, but I won't argue as I'd have to see it again. She lived in Atlanta and just attended a conference that Lois held that's it I thought., I think family friend was said because she needed to say something and not Dad's girlfriend :) I don't see Tony Evans doing anything too low. I would not want to hook up with my late husband's friend.

Okay, now I can really say yes I can move on! I lost my dad and my husband June 13 and July 14 2022 respectively. I’ve had to deal with grief in a terrible way but seeing this just revived my hope! I am still young and I can get it right again by God’s grace. Thank you Dr Evans, you’re forever a blessing. Thank You Jesus!
I really like the way he included their similarities in his introduction of her. This was so eloquently done. I pray the blessing of God on them both.
Congratulations Dr Evans. Read your devotions daily. My husband's been gone from this world 16 yrs on the 13th of this month. It took me 11 yrs before a man of God in my church asked to date him. It was awkward at first. Then covid hit and took him along with his 2 brothers. We'd dated almost 2 yrs. After 2 marriages and dating its me and Jesus now. Happy for you.

I was totally shocked and surprised. I never thought Pastor Evan’s would remarry. However, he loved and still loves Dr. Lois and no one will ever take her place. NO-ONE. He deserves a companion if he chooses. I don’t know his fiancé but if he chose her she must be a great person. I will always love and treasure Dr. Lois Evan’s regardless. Praying for the family.
