2000 rounds, accurate, carried everyday, zero malfunctions. If you want a slim 45 striker fired there’s no better choice.
Agreed!
Springfield xds 45 better build quality (durability with +p 45acp ammo) has a rail for mounting lights and lasers...has a tactile loaded chamber indicator for easy feel in the dark..has a passive grip safety for safe appendix carry(great carry location) has cut outs for red dots if you like...has ambidextrous mag release standard..also has magazine options of 5 rd...6rd and 7 rounds...I have both and the Springfield offer more bang for your buck...Springfield XDS 45...👍 Both nice carry 45s
@@kevinrichardson8859murica' tho
Smith & Wesson, in my opinion, is hugely underrated.
The 45acp just doesn't take your life. It takes your soul.
Love my Shield. 45
Easy Comfortable EDC
Purchased this handgun a month ago. Absolutely love everything about it.
Thanks for your review. My Shield 45 has been reliable and feeds my Speer Gold Dot 45. I happen to be carrying it today. I've spared mine the torture tests.
He does the torture tests so you don't have to!
I think this is going to be a good seller for them. A lot of people like the .45, and this is about the best conceal carry .45 currently on the market. Price is rather okay too.
*Remember, a 9mm may expand but a 45acp won't shrink.*
Sunday Gunday Channel 8 rounds might be enough but 18 sounds better lol
jake Hansen glock 30 or 21 with a kriss vector mag. you got 20+ rounds.
jake hansen of 45
9mm single stack only get 7 or 8rnds to! not fair to compare double stack 9mm to single stack .45
Everyone thinking they are going to go into battle need to chill. Most gun battles are over after 2-3 shots fired.
Bought this gun 3years ago and LOVE IT no malfunctions no problems 10 out of 10
Video timeline is a great feature.
You've got some top quality content here. Camera angles, slow-motion plays, testing variations. I dig it. Subscribed. 👍🏿
Excellent video, very informative. Nice to see an honest no bs review by someone how knows what he's talking about. I have a .45 Shield and it's my EDC with Hornady Critical Duty ammo. This weapon is another winner from the Smith&Wesson stables. Oh yeah, I subscribed. Well done.
Wonderful dirt test was Ultra Reliability Test which proved the gun 100% reliable when needing it to protect our lives and family! God Bless you GY6vids!🙏🙏🙏
I have the 40 shield and I love it ..absolutely awesome gun... great video thanks Andrew
Awesome job on the review. I already have a Springfield XDs 45 which I really like, but I might have to get me one of these too.
You just earned yourself a subscriber.
Man, I really appreciate the thorough review.
I've NEVER seen someone throw their gun in the dirt on purpose.
You had me rolling, too!
Funny, but INFORMATIVE stuff.
Thank you so much.
This taught me a lot.
Btw, have you tried it wet?
Overall good video! Pick up my Shield 45 today, really like my drill and range day with it! It has some nice improvements over my EDC Shield 9mm, really looking forward to good solid training with it. Keep up the good work, along with rocking those flies!
As always good review, mate. Also, the production quality of the video is awesome!
Thank you Jonathan!
I really got excited when this came out but still find myself gravitating back to the 9mm shield(never ever should have sold it ). Great video . 9mm does the job and more capacity but what's not to love about a big old .45? Lol. Keep it up man , you always keeps this jarhead entertained when I am at work and have some down time 👍
9s for girls
Love your videos! The detail, the review, love it all!
I had the same slide lock issues with my M&P Shield 45 ACP. Had to send it back to S&W twice. First time they replaced the magazines and the second time they replaced the slide lock with a newer design. Everything works great now!
Good to know!
What slide lock problem? I'm curious if I've got the same problem.
Richard Summers Good to hear that 👍🏻
My dad uses an M&P 40 for concealed carry I've shot it a few times and I love it
great review. and great idea with the timeline on screen, keep doing that
Thank you, glad yo enjoyed it.
Excellent as always ! Keep the reviews coming!
Thanks for the vid, this pistol performed well IMO. I never understood the complaints with the M&P trigger, I had my full sized M&P 9 since 2010 and I never felt the urge to upgrade the trigger. I felt the same about the Shield I shot.
I have a 9mm Shield, and love it, thanks for the vid, best road test of 45 Shield out there. I was thinking about a 45 XDM, but after owning the 9mm Shield, and watching this test, I think I'll get a new Shield.
As far as the lock back, most often the culprit is the magazine. I will still buy a Shield, but would not hesitate to send the mags back, and try other mags as well, I think you will find that the Shield line is a very accurate pistol, and my 9mm can out shoot my other 9's
Well I can say this is the first video I have seen you post and I just subscribed. Thanks for making it interesting!
I really like what you're doing, high quality video, all the info one could ever want and it's entertaining, but there's one thing that gets me, on several of your videos you load the gun, pull the slide, and than you point on the targets with you hands (obviously) and while I'm sure that you're taking all the necessary precautions, form this POV it looks like you're keeping you hands in front of an loaded gun, just stay safe and keep doing an awesome work =D
Pointing in front of a firearm is not an issue if you practice proper handgun safety. Finger Off The Trigger, Gun Doesn't Fire.
Thanks for all the kind words.
Awesome review brother! Glad we could be apart of it!
I love this review its everything I need to know and straight to the point and no bs .
dude just stumbled upon your videos! love them! subscribed! keep up the great work! video quality is so great, thank you!
Thank you, Welcome to GY6vids!
Awesome video and review man! Very thorough. Keep em comin!
Thank you! Will do, thanks for the support.
I have owned about 6 M&P series pistols and the Ar15 Sport 2. have never had an issue with any of them and the Shield 45 is my current daily carry shoots smooth for a small 45
I almost sold my 9 shield today to trade up to the 45 version. the slide lock issue has me totally back in love with my 9. she's been 100 percent for the last 4 years.
I was worried when you didn't post for awhile! Totally worth the wait, the production quality is amazing.
Takes time to get the quality into productions. I have posted 3-4 new videos this month. Go take a look.
You do the best gun reviews on RUclips thank you for all of your hard work
Thank you! That is always great to hear....lot of work goes into these.
No he does not. This idiot does not even know what hes talking about
I was just about to buy the 9mm version of this gun. Great timing on the video. Going to check the .45 out now for sure.
Go with 9 or 45?
Wow that was a good review you took it threw the ringer and it still fired really good review thanks bud really was a big help
Glad you enjoyed!
love your videos bro.. always learning something new..
This is a definitely a must have!😊
LOVE my Shield 45! The textured grip is awesome. Recoil not strong at all. Totally reliable: never any ftf or fte. Great gun!
Great review man! Thanks for the info.
thumbs up as always!GY6VIDS crew well done
What a legit, awesome review
great review as always. thank you
You do the best gun reviews on RUclips FACT!
😎👌🏻🔫
That last bit at the end 😆😆😆😆
hahahahaha Thank you Paul! Much appreciated. *Fist Bump*
Very good, interesting review. Loved the incredible slow-mo shots. New sub here.
Just found your channel man the review on that a Smith & Wesson 45 was awesome never see one where you throw in the gun down in the dirt like that but it was awesome
I love the 45ACP. Never use a small caliber gun on a large caliber man.
James Gilstrap Hell yeah
I love the production value of your vids, keep it up
Thank you! I will. Thanks for the support!
haha he said "thunk" great vid though. always love the quality and the details you give.
First time I see your video and on my S&W Shield M2.0. 45 3.3 6&7 NMS. GREAT TIMING GREAT VIDEO!!! One shot from a .45 is all you need (it's devastating), instead of a mag of 9mm. Just subscribed, keep up the good work!!!👍✊😊
i am looking to pick this up i think i will i enjoy your videos man keep um up
Thank you for this video. Keeping this as an option for new edc
I have one of those 45 in 2.0 for conceal and carry really a nice gun. Thanks for the video
This is fantastic vid! And the slo mo of the fly was killer. This has to be one of the best gun reviews that I have ever watched. The gun gods will forgive you for that dirt test. The million dollar question is that with the mentioned ballistic capabilities of the 9mm - Is the .45 ACP necessary??? Sorry to beat a dead horse....
Thank you Jonathan!
Still the best vid on RUclips for this gun
Great review. The 1st review with a 45 shield that doesn't have the safety! 13:35 Awesome!
Bro, your vids are the best.
Gy6 is the Lord of the Flies.
On another note:
The good thing about that powdery sand is it can somewhat simulate a year's worth of pocket dust. I actually did a dusty-fire test with my Bodyguard 380. A friend and I were shooting at his range, and I practiced a draw/fire with my CCW. I hadn't cleaned it in quite some time, so it was a bit dusty. Everything worked well! Now, I want an M&P Shield.
Just got myself one. Happy to see your vid on what you think.
Good video and review. I like the on-screen timeline as well. Nice job. I would like to see a follow up or response on the cause of the constant failure for the slide to lock back, in the open position, when empty.
Thank you for including weights ! SO many don't... On a CCW what is more important to know ? Heavy pistols get left at home !
Yeah I’m compact pistol reviews it’s paramount
Great vid man
Love the video! On the Short list... Like next pistol! I have had a Shield 9mm for over a year as my EDC, I have an Apex Duty trigger kit in my Shield.
Love the vids. Support always. Smith and Wesson great fan of their revolvers maybe not the M&P. Also I would like to see more vids about revolvers but that's just me. Keep up the good work.
Cool video. Now I have to order one.
My m&p 45 dont always lock back either i have the same exact pistol but regardless i love it.. Thanks for your vids and all your information its very helpful and interesting and as always stay safe
Very good review. I love my Shield 45.
I have this pistol, haven't shot it yet, but my magazines go in a lot easier than that one though. Enjoyed the review, subscribed!
That sounds like some of the long list of faults that I had with a S&W Sigma . I will keep my 1911s and Glocks . Thanks for the great review .
Love my 45 Shield and getting a 9mm Shield next week
Nice shots , it was windy, keep up great videos
Man, I don't baby my guns, but I would never intentionally treat any of my gun like that, especially my 45 Shield. But I'm glad you're willing to. ;)
Weird, right? I’d never do that to my firearms BUT I want to know I can.
Now all they need is a Smith and Wesson M&P Shield in .50AE
10mm or 357 sig would be awesome
I like the way you think
My 25mm shield performs OK, but it jams with steel case and the mag is small.
10mm would be nice
Marvin . I totally agree.
I have a shield and a M&P compact and both triggers were less than desirable. I installed the apex triggers and it made a HUGE difference!
agreed.
I have the 45 2.0 and shield 45 both have better triggers than my g19 gen 4. That might not be saying a while lot but the triggers are way better than the old m&ps
Great upload ! Thank you
XDs .45 vs. Shield .45 comparison needs to happen!
Great review just bought one...
One thing on the M&P I like is there is a bar inside you can press down, instead of pulling the trigger when breaking down the pistol. When you reinsert the mag the bar pops back in place. It's just something I like over other striker fired pistols.
Great video. When the slide is locked back mags go in fully.
Great review! I can't wait until this gun is available for general public purchase. The M&P 45 full size has the same issue with a fully loaded magazine having to be forced into the magazine well. I have over 1,000 rounds through my 45 and it hasn't improved. And why do most people who review the M&P's not use the sear disengagement lever when taking down the firearm, but instead pull the trigger to disengage the sear/striker and then some complain about having to pull the trigger? Read the owners manual and see how the manufacture recommends taking the firearm down for maintenance and cleaning.
Nice work!
I own the shield in 40. Sometimes I wish I had the 9, when I have to buy range ammo for it. But when I'm out late at night in a bad part of town, I'm glad I have the 40. The 165g gold dots from Underwood hit hard. and when you have less than 10 rounds you got to make them count. I would feel the same way with some 230 grain rangerT in the shield 45. Which will probably be my next purchase. I own several M&P pistols, and I have never took one out of the box and didn't have it run a hundred percent. The only other pistol brand that has done that for me is Glock. I'm sure HK and Sigs are great pistols too I just haven't owned a lot of them
I think I just saw the mars rover behind you 😂
Excellent review!
My shield 40 works great. plan on trading my clunker 457 in on one of these.
Hey Andrew good job on the videos appreciate your time and effort! I was wondering how this compares to the glock 30sf? Would love to see a video of comparing the two guns similar to how u did the xd vs glock video thank u again man keep up the good work!
S&W fix the last round hold open.... until then..... UHHHH NO
Thank you for the very honest review if they can work that bug out I will buy until then I will not even touch one.
I liked everything about mine except that grip. The texture rubbed me raw carrying it IWB for a day, and the overall shape of the grip wasn't comfortable. That said I got a great deal as apparently the .45's don't sell as good as the 9mm's. Hogue makes a great wrap around grip I picked up for about $8 and now the grip feels perfect.
Great review
Thank you Eric!
I love this gun, it is my edc!
Great vid! Think you could do a comparison video with the Springfield XDS in 45 acp?
I cringed a little bit when you tossed the pistol on the ground, but I understand what your trying to prove. Just purchased the Shield 45 and have not shot it yet. Appreciate your review, I feel good about this purchase.
Tom Reyes efore u shoot it put it in sand and see if it cycles. U have to test ur gun before u carry it dumbass idiot.
I just bought a the non safety model and I love it!
With larger hands I sometimes have the same problem even with the full size M&P. My hand prevents the slide lock.
dude when i seen that fly get rocked i lost my shit haha.
Did you ever figure the reason behind the slide not staying open after the last shot? Please let me/us know. Thank you for the excellent video. Shoot lots and stay safe.
Really nice review! One thing I've noticed, wrt the slide not locking back on the last round, is that they moved the slide lock lever back slightly from where it's located on the 9/40. I don't like that bc it causes the slide release and the occasional slide locking back during live fire. Outside that, I really like this little gun. S&W hit another home run, except for the fact that magazines aren't available, and won't me for a little while according to S&W. Unacceptable.
awesome video!
Killer video as usual
thanks for another cool video
