I've had this gun for over 4 years and I LOVE IT. Put over 1000 rounds of every type of ammo and have never had a problem. It is snappy but once you get used to it feels great. If you like.45s, I carried a 1911for 3 years as an MP, it is a great carry firearm. Would highly recommend. Hope this helps.
They are definitely great lil carry 45s for sure! Thanks for watching!
I also carry the M&P Shield.45 2.0 and love it. I carry the Federal HST 230 grain +P JHP in my Shield. Great pistol & great ammo
I just bought one of these and it is the Sweetest shooting, most accurate pistol I own!
This has been my carry gun for almost 4 years and i love it.So easy to carry.Zero problems with it.Like you said its a carry gun,so i don't need a special trigger for it.The only thing i changed was the sights, not that anything was wrong with them, but i just wanted night sights on it.Its also a pretty accurate for being a small gun.Got it loaded with Federal HST 230 gr and its good to go
I have an m&p shield also in 45 I like the m&p shield man I think they are great guns for for concealed carry
They are! One of the top carry guns for years now in this country!
The 9 has been my EDC for a good couple /3 years and I have been nothing but happy with it. Never an issue or malfunction, knock wood, and the crossbreed mini tuck iwb is super comfortable. Excellent video.
Thanks brother as always solid positive input!
Great review. Have shield in 9mm and love it, but 45acp is my perferred cartridge. Glad someone else in the world isn't trying to claim 9mm is the only pistol round ever. Please, the government at every level only, litterally only does things based on cost-period. 45acp, 40s&w, and 357sig make the 9mm look silly. Keep up the great videos
Thanks brother much agreed!
I’ve owned my shield 45 and recently have decided to switch from my g2 9mm to this as my edc so I’m starting to make more trips to the range to be more proficient with it but already pretty good with it, like you said there’s a kick to get used to but just love the caliber great review! I use the old school federal hydro shock and they feed great!
Solid choice brother!
The Springfield XDS 45 is probably the biggest competitor to this.
Screw those traitors to the 2nd amendment
@@TerriblyTactical :)
185 gr. +P Golden Saber if you must carry this. Thanks for the video.
Best EDC
Definitely up there
Enjoyed your review of the 2.0 45acp. Nicely done and informative. I ordered one this afternoon prior to watching your review. Now, I'm pleased that I ordered one.
Its definitely been a great carry piece for me!
Good review. I also carry a 1911, it's what I trained on in the service and for that reason the safety on the M&P 45 Shield is a non-issue. It's become muscle memory. I have no issues with the hinged trigger or recoil. I have a full size 40 s&w that has more felt recoil than this pistol. It is easily concealed and accurate. It fully meets my needs. Width is .99".
Nice! Thanks for watching! 1911s are king!
My favorite handgun I ever purchased... Amazing
Yea they're definitely a solid piece!
I feel like the Shield 40 cal is much snappier than the Shield 45!! More of a push with the 45 and the control for follow up shots is really good 👍🏻
Agreed!
I find the recoil impulse of the 45 no harder to control than 9mm with similar sized pistols.
Great, detailed review! I have a S&W M&P 2.0 .45 Compact which is nail driver. I shoot it really well. But its a little big, even being a Compact, to carry. So, I’m looking to get this for my next pick up. I’m not very accurate with a 9mm, so .45 is my caliber. I would have to give this a try, but I’m guessing after a little practice I should be just as accurate as I am with my Compact. Once again, great review!! Subbed.
Much appreciated my dude! The shield 45 shoots really well for a small thin gun and you'll definitely be able to make her work for ya! Thanks for watching!
I own the shield 9mm and .40. and recently picked up the SW 1911 .45. 3 in pro series but I will soon be picking up a shield .45 for the hell of it.
Shields IMO are a wonderful value for the money.
Nicceeee!
@@TerriblyTactical
Yes sir..
My SW 1911 pro series is a sweet shooter.
700 rounds through it with zero malfunctions. I know people call them jamomatics but none so far and I do all sorts of tactical shooting styles.
I’ve been carrying this for over a year. I put some night sights on it. I don’t think there’s a better carry gun for a civilian on the market. It’s so nice. I have a mag holster for my spare mag so I’m rolling with 14 shots of 230gr t series rangers. Good luck bad guy. If you want to carry a 45 this should be seriously considered.
I totally agree
Stuck between this guy and the xd mod 2 in 45 cal
@@douglasjohn1803 I would most definitely get the shield. Made in America...lifetime warranty...and much more reliable and higher quality
@@TerriblyTactical Thx man
I bought one used for $220. My son has the 9mm version and years later both have performed flawlessly.
Yeah, they're great guns!
Great vid! Love 45!
Thanks brother!
I love my M&P Shield .45 one solid built pistol!! I carry the Hornady Critical Defense 185 grain JHP ammo in my Shield. I feel confident in carrying both for my protection!!!
As you should!
@@TerriblyTactical absolutely can’t beat S&W!!!!!
My EDC is now officially my S&W M&P Shield .45!! I have switched to Federal HST 230 grain +P JHP I my EDC ammo!!! Great video!! Subscriber!!
Superb review!
Thanks!
Good gun! 👍
Its def pretty solid!
I like the thumb safety. Mine is a 9 shield, I'm buying the 45.
To each their own brother
Great review. any words comparing the MP45 Shield and Dan Wesson CCO? both are 7 rd single stack, good for conceal carry in my opinion, one is polymer frame striker fire, the other is traditional all metal 1911. Thanks.
Dan wesson all day. 1911s are master race hahhaa
@@TerriblyTactical Agreed. Thanks for replying.
Owned since they came out. Hands down beats all others. Great review. I have both PC model and no safety pistol. These shoot one hole. Recoil is nothing.
Most definitely
Picked one up used at a local pawnshop for a smokin' $200 .Its my EDC. Accurate. Everyone who has shot it busts center of the target. U miss, its ur fault!
Awesome! Definitely a really solid carry option!
There’s only one problem that I have with this weapon. And that is the fact that it is not an ambidextrous firearm. Although it shoots very accurate and feels very good in the hand, as a lefty I struggle with the speed of changing a magazine since the thumb magazine release is not reversible. On some models that contain a thumb safety, on one side of the fire arm specifically the left side, this is for right handed shooters. The M&P 45 full-size does have an interchangeable magazine release. One way you can tell if the gun is ambidextrous, Is the magazine has two notches on the metal shaft. This firearm only has a single square notch on the right side of the magazine indicating it only releases from one direction. Other than that this is a very accurate and easy to carry fire arm.
I understand for feds, sate etc using the 9mm for ease of use by females and males. I was stuck on the inbetween round forever the 40 and it was nice, however, after changing to this 45 round heavy load special pack i understand that IF i hit someone , THEY will be in the afterlife and NO medical assistance can stop that! A state trooper once told me why he still caries a revolver against an automatic weapon is because it only takes one round to end the fight, spraying and hoping takes time.......... Some of my friends think the 45 is like shooting a nuclear bomb off, AND they are CORRECT!
No need telling the bg to "STAY DOWN!" He's down. "BOOM" down.
I just bought a used shield .45 with night sights for a great price , I love it. And thank you for this great video.
Awesome choice! And no tha k you for watching!
I paid $ 350.00 it's practically brand new.
I have this in 9mm but want 45 now !
I like the 45 better myself. Just a slightly bigger gun but feels way better!
That's my piece!!! 👍✌
Super cool!
Have one love it. Holster 1791 outside
They shoot great
Is it a extended mag for the shield 45 single stack
The only mags for the shield 45 are single stack mags
This is going to be my first carry gun just my CCW going to get it in a couple of weeks🎉😎
Awesome! Congrats! Make sure you carry all the time...does ya no good to leave it at home.
There is a tlr6 for that gun!
Nice! I thought so
#freealexjones ... not that you have to like or agree with him... but without the first amendment the 2nd is next to go!
Agreed. .people need to wake up
Lucky, I wanted one without the safety but doesnt bother me too much. Just never use it lol
Yeah but ya gotta be careful it doesn't somehow get bumped on during carry so I would still build into my draw sweeping it off even if you keep it off all the time
i love 45 people need to carry more clips if need that all great video wheelchair Larry
Thanks for watching!
That's not a clip it is a magazine
@@jayhogan1166 some much hyperbole
45 is all u need best caliber for hand guns some will say 10mm but i seen different results and different situations but 45 and that big led and dumping all its energy sounds like a shot gun slug
MEN TO THAT MY DUDE!
I have seen 10mm that wasn’t as powerful as 40sw. 45 ammo seems more consistent.
It’s nice but don’t get crazy it is not as devestating as 10mm
I'll take the m&p shield for concealed carry any day then the Glock Frankenstein I know I know Glocks are great guns they just too bulky to carry for concealed carry I have a Glock 30 it was my first purchase for concealed carry had about five years now just sitting in my gun safe
Concealed carry sorry
Definitely a solid option
Yeah she a big girl alright
Try the CYA HOLSTERS from San Antonio. Bought one ($43,) love it!!!
I've got one or Teo of those and yeah they're good lil rigs for sure
Can you do a rang vid on the gun. Plz sir!
I will indeed
Hey they should make an m&p in 10 millimeter
That would be pretty sweet!
Torn between the .40 and .45 not sure what I want to go with !
I would go 45....its less snappy and slightly bigger so you get a better purchase on the grip
Great video!! Absolutely love my M&P Shield.45!! I used to carry the Hornady Critical Defense 185 grain but recently decided to switch to Federal HST 230 grain +P JHP fir carry!! I too carry a Taurus 605 .357 magnum revolver snub nose & yes it’s a fantastic pocket cannon!! Subscriber!!👍
@thomaspalmer7900 HST 230 has wicked expansion and great penetration, there's a bunch of videos on it
@@mrmann44 I will check them out!! Thanks
I wish it had a reversible magazine release for lefties.
It's easy enough to learn and train with using it setup for a righty
You came close to shooting it on this video
But I didn't
Can you do a vid on 45 vs 9mm plz sir.
Sure why not through my 2 cents into the age old debate!
Noah Lancaster sure 9mm smaller faster round 45 bigger slower round but hits harder there review done! Lol I jest! Shoot both see which one you prefer 9mm cheaper to train with but 45 is a great option too it’s basically personal choice
NO ONE TELLS US HOW MUCH THE M&P S&W .45 IS???
It's different everywhere man especially now
I'm leaving this comment in 2024, I just bought a brand new M&P 45 Shield and I had to pay $500 + tax at my local shop. I don't regret it though, I settled on this model after watching so many positive reviews, and it was exactly what I needed in my rotation, and for some other less significant reasons, I paid what I had to pay to get it 🙂
We LOVE hinged trigger. Get a Glock if you’re hung up on that. You’re giving us your preferences in a review without telling us it’s a personal preference.
Lol #triggered
Shut up lol
How much did you pay for yours?
Can't remember and I bought it used but it was a good price
Should have read the manual. It is recommended that you NOT shoot +P ammunition from a .45 Shield 2.0.
Manuals don't tell me how to live my life hahah
I shot Liberty Ammo .45 shooting 1,900 FPS through my Shield no problem at all!!!
It’s not recommended but also says if you do shoot +P ammo don’t shot +P ammo frequently due to wear and tear on the parts
Why would you do a gun review with a loaded firearm? Asking for a friend.
Lol
He wants to add to his tally of negligent discharges. His man cave walls are well ventilated with .45 ACP holes. LOL!
Maybe he’s just not a bitch who has to make eveyone happy by being “safe” carry on bro!!
