I chose this as my first ever gun purchase. It’s small enough for Cary and to keep in my truck but also I would feel comfortable keeping this on my night stand as well. If two magazines full of .45 acp can’t protect me I’m not sure anything else would either
I got firts generation Shield 45... the 2.0 the trigger got a 100% inprovment.... any way.... I was shoting like in the video litter to the right.... with the first gen. I purches the APEX competition kit... this is the best $88 dollars I expend.... the trigger got a Super improvment it helps with shorter trigger pull & light the trigger pull.... Great Weapon shild 45 very Happy with this gun 🍹🍺👍👍
I had the 9mm. Shield and frankly, it didn't blow my skirt up. I tried this Shield in .45 and I have to say, I was (am) impressed. What I was really taken aback by was the accuracy (for me) that was exhibited by this gun. In my opinion, .45 JHP's in large part don't work particularly well in 3.3" barrels by every test I've seen, whereas a vast array of 9mm. JHP's work well in small barrels like this. But, I'm so taken with the accuracy and ease of shooting with the .45 Shield that I'm going to carry it, at least with 185 Grain +P Golden Saber's.
Bradley Slackenfelch tnoutdoors9 RUclips channel tested federal hst 230 gr +p out of a 3.3" barrel and it ended up being at the velocity a non +p round would be out of 5 inch barrel. About 850-870fps. He got good expansion. But I'm waiting on my shield .45 paperwork now(NJ BS laws) and I'm going to test the expansion of 185gr hst +p, 230gr hst +p, hornady critical defense 185gr +p and hornady critical duty 220gr+p in gel shot through a hooded sweatshirt not denim because this isn't 1991.lol. I may record if not I'll post photos on social media.
Guys, just wanted to comment on your video. I really like your format. The interaction and humor between the two of you is great. You also have great content. I appreciate the fact that you aren't so technical that you alienate those who aren't as familiar with guns as others. Great job guys. I wish you well and look forward to seeing other videos. His big thumb knuckle got in the way during operation cycle. That is what happened and why it didn't lock back. I used to frequently do that and still do at times.
Good video and thank you. Agree with your concept talking about extended magazines on sub guns but in practical carry "disagree".. The part that goes down your pants in my case matters more than the grip plus it's easier to present or draw the extended mags vs digging down your pants.
I haven't personally shot either of those guns, but those are good ideas for future videos. We will look into getting those guns soon, and see how they do compared to the Smith. I will say, I prefer the feel of the Smith over the XDS.
Great video guys, like the banter. I have the Shield 9mm but have been checking out quite a few vids on this 45 its looking more and more interesting as a future purchase. Anyways just subbed and I hope to catch more of your upcoming videos.
Thanks for watching! We're getting a lot more comfortable making videos, so they're more like normal conversation for us. lol! I like the frame of the .45 a lot more than the 9mm. I think it takes on more characteristics of the M&P 2.0, which we will have a video for soon.
Nice video guys! Liked your presentation, subbing. I have felt one of these at the gun store. It really feels good in the hand, better than the 9 mm. The 9 almost feels too small to me. I learned to shoot 1911 45ACPs early on. I own 2 1911's and love them. I just wouldn't want to carry them around. I have nice holsters for them but they are big and heavy. The Shield seems perfect in 45 ACP. I bought a PT 111 G2 in 9 mm last year an it has been flawless but I was hoping S&W/M&P would come out with this gun!!! I'm not a big fan of the S&W 40 cal. round. It's a bit snappy compared to the smooth shooting 45ACP. I will end up with one at some point. Now I really need to get to the range and rent one. Now they came out with the performance model and I would like to try that too before I buy. I don't have a lot of xtra cash to buy guns, so it takes me a while to make up my mind to commit to a model and they keep coming out with stuff I want!!! Man I thank god they keep making improvements that I like!!! LOL!!! Its really a bitch getting exactly what you want due to your/my slow broke ass reaction times, LOL!!!!
Thanks a lot! We had a lot of fun with this video, and the Shield 45 really is a great shooter. This is something I'd definitely consider for concealed carry. We will be doing a video for the M&P 2.0 here soon as well, and comparing it to the previous M&P model. I hear you on the gun money! The guns we film with either belong to us, or they're loaned specifically for the video shoot. I don't think anything has ever been exactly what I want. That would probably be a Glock with some frame mods, but I haven't been able to bring myself to grind on one yet.
@ 9:37..........."What's the point in carrying it, if you're not going to shoot it?" Did he actually say that?? I think I need to have my hearing checked.
Just got my 45 shield and after 20 rounds the gun broke. Put another mag in the gun and fired one round and the trigger locks to the rear and will not reset. does it with both mags. had to send back to s&w. I'm not in impressed with a gun that can get you hurt or killed. I will get rid of it.
That's very unfortunate... Glad you weren't injured by it though. Have they determined what part of the gun broke, or has there been enough time to hear from them?
If it broke after 20 rounds, it was already broken when you got it. Don't judge an entire product line by one dud. The stellar reputation of the Shield proves otherwise.
I think every gun manufacturer throws out a cpl bad guns sometimes but this gun and its maker have great quality and customer service and they will take care of whatever it is I think people overreact if a new gun isn’t functioning as should wich is understandable but to condemn the gun for one bad one is a shame!
Hard to find anyone who doesn't like this pistol. I just got one and the positive reviews are spot on.
I carry both my Shield .45 and 9mm with the flush mags inserted and use the extended mags for reloads.

An excellent choice for sure!

Very nice! I'm going to be looking more into some S&W stuff here soon. Hopefully do some more detailed table top videos.
Bought a new 45 2.0 shield w/ crimson trace laser for 299$ . What a beautiful gun / deadly accurate . It was a steal
Definitely a great deal! Especially with the laser! Hope you enjoy it!

Of any pistol in this size category, the .45 Shield has been my favorite. I still need to get one, but other projects keep eating my money. lol!

Jpgs are just fine in this gun put many through mine!

I practice with both mags alternating them every other mag.shoot well with both, this is an easy to shoot and easy to control, the trigger is awsome!!!
I love my .45 Shield. Good video fellas, Thanks
Thank you!
Came across this video and was surprised to see a familiar face. I’m use to seeing it across the gun counter at Ace

R Sjr even with the 6round mag I never have to reach inside my pants to draw with a iwb holster
Carry the flush mag as primary in gun concealed (and practice) and the extended as second mag.
Great video guys! how did it feel compared to something like XDS 45 or CW45?

I get that a lot slide not locking with mine, mostly because of my thumb hitting the slide lock
Pretty sure that's exactly what happened to me.
Own one, love it!
Great video guys! I held one in a gun store felt better in my hand than the 9. 45acp real AMERICAN round!
The aggressive grip texturing is certainly appealing. I think I may end up owning one of these.
any one make a larger magazine capacity for the shield 45? put a red dot on mine its awesome
My 45 sheild shoots left and down also... I have to aim up and right to hit accuratley... Ima get the sights readjusted.
9mm shield has the same texture as the 45. The texture is on all 2.0 gen models.
You remind me of Kevin James! Probably not the first time you've heard that though. Great entertaining videos btw!!!
not much of a compliment ;)
That's what I was going to say this dude does look like Kevin James hahaha
I love my mp Shield 45 I carry it every where
Maybe he rode the slide stop.
= use the 6 in carry/use the 7 in the pocket.....
Agree on extended mag. They serve no purpose.
@ 9:37..........."What's the point in carrying it, if you're not going to shoot it?" Did he actually say that?? I think I need to have my hearing checked.
What's the point of carrying a firearm if you aren't going to train with it to become proficient in its use?
glad you all made this video...i want one..and on the 7th day God made the 45acp...yeeehaw...terry does suck by the way
Glad you like it! What happened to you on the book of faces man? Lol!
Gunslinger Firearms and Gear forgot all about that lol
