Folks... subscribers, members, casual watchers... we have a challenge! We have to help SPN come up with new terms to replace "Ergonomics". My contribution is "hand meld" Let's hear what you have! Help SPN out! 😄
I think a "Flintstones" rating would be great.. You know a square wheel vs a round wheel! For example a "1 Flintstone" would be not so good and "5 Flintstones" would be great!
Ahhhhh, I remember the .357 conversion. That was my first video from you! And I remember commenting to watch the frame for cracking. I am really, really glad to see that she's holding up, she's being reliable, and that you're enjoying her!
Yes she runs great, handles great and no cracking! I actually took that and while shooting always checked so I appreciate it. I’ve had a frame crack before on a different firearm and I knew immediately from the way the firearm felt on my hand
@@spnfirearms HAHA I _still_ wanna do that conversion too. Think about it every time you showcase her. That's awesome, definitely appreciate hearing that it's part of your routine for the conversion 👍😊 Agreed, quite a few of them, you can just tell right away that something went wrong. Some of them can be sneaky, so as they say, we must always be vigilant, LOL. Awesome brother, I love that conversion, and I love hearing that she's still doing so well!
Thanks for the review! Hey, don't worry about pinning the grip safety. It's a feature not a bug. I've had to pull my XD 45acp a couple of times for stray dogs. The grip safety wasn't even a thought. I think all striker fired guns should have a grip safety, like a 1911.
Over the years, I have owned an XDs 45 pistol and a 2.0 S&W Shield 45 pistol with 4” barrel. Having put quite a few rounds through each, for me the 4” Shield 45 shoots more accurately and with much less felt recoil compared to the XDs 45. I still own the Shield 45 and the XDs 45 went to a new home. Both are well made and reliable but we each have our preferences and for me it is the Shield 45. I carry a 9mm such as a G26 or Shield Plus 4” quite a bit but I still believe that a larger caliber is preferable. Currently I am carrying an optic ready 2.0 Shield in 40 S&W with a factory ported 4” barrel.
@@ColonelCarnage Over the years I have tried the XDs 45 in both barrel lengths. For me, the Shield 45 with 4” barrel recoils softer and I shoot it much more accurately. For someone else, the opposite may be true.
Love the xds. My favorite 45 to carry. Smith and Wesson have great firearms, but, customer service is so ridiculously poor it cancels my wanting to ever purchase another smith and Wesson firearm! EXS, CARRY ON!
If that's the name that you're gonna be using for the channel, it's a great choice! I like it! In regards to monetization. Granted, YT is *constantly* changing the rules, and the way that they do things. At least when I checked into it which has been a while... 🙄 We didn't start off qualifying for monetization right away. It was a level that had to be built up to. Again, it's been a while since I checked into it. So like with *everything* concerning guns, check the local rules, hahaha. But yeah... if you go with a channel, great luck to you, and hope that things work out really well!
What's wrong with "ergonomics"? Was the complaint that you were overusing it? Or.. do we have "gun correctness" issues? "Ergos" is commonly in practice. 😁
@@spnfirearms HAHAHA, uh oh. Ugh, that's a rough one. It's such a one size fits all, so often used term. I posted a new comment. I asked the community to help out, and pitch in new terms to use! 👍 Let's see what we can come up with 😁
I think people with no real life experience in having to hurt people forget that 9….45…357 they are just tools and they all work just fine… however I have seen a guy get shot in the head fall down passed out… then get up and start shooting…. He was trying to defend his brother… he died after but tactically a man down getting back up is a dangerous scenario after you moved on to other threats… it was a 9mm btw… so just saying.
@@spnfirearms Oh, and let's not forget... so ergonomic! 😁 Ok, I'm not making fun of the subscriber. I just know you wanted to so bad to say it, so it needed to be said 😉
45 has a little more power than 9 but the least capacity and penetration.. 9 gets the most capacity and is the cheapest ammo but is the weakest. 40 has power and penetration with good capacity as well as 357 sig.. 40 is cheaper and more available than 357 but not as powerful. My order would be 40,9,357 sig and 45
There's also muzzle blast. If that's a concern, which... it is for some. Ranking those, I'd say 9mm 357, 40, 45. 45s I can actually feel the blast, standing in the next aisle, from somebody shooting one. (Now also keep in mind that when _I_ say 357, I'm talking 357 magnum. Just cuz I haven't had a chance to shoot 357 sig yet. (But not for lack of wanting to!)
I carry 9mm about 40% of the time and the remainder I carry .40, .357 Sig and .45acp I think .40 overall is the best round and most versatile. I don’t carry 10mm because of known over penetration issues
@@michaelgandy4684 45 carries quite a bit of "smack" when it hits tho too. I mean, it's not like the movies where it sends people flying off the screen, but it hits pretty hard when it connects to something solid. Where 9mm likes to try to zip through what it hits, 45 just hammers it. As for punch, I'd rate 9mm as a beginner boxer. 357 and sig are middle weights. (Edit, I meant to say 357 and 40. 40 hits harder, but not quite like 45) 45 tho, that's getting up there with Tyson. (Sans the ear biting).
XDS-45 is a great carry gun. And if need more ammo, the XDS magazine are thin enough to stick one in my pocket. Need more ammo? I have a nice leather double mag carrier for it. 6+1 of .45 ACP is legit, just ask the 1911 fanboys.
You used " Egernomic" In the correct application...Firearms are tools....keep making good content 👌.. Take the. Letter (S) off the word, it has a different meaning
How do you know how gangsters are going to run up on you based on were you go. They can show up any were you're at. I understand the mailbox or work. When I'm out period. I carry two firearms canik mete sf and my shield plus
They can, but I live in a very nice area. And I stay aware. Situation awareness is key. And I’ll be fine even with 7 rounds. I train so much and I’m not missing 7 rounds
While the 45acp will be effective to me its not a 357 SIG the 357 SIG is a superior round not a doubt in my mind l love 357 SIG and 10mm if you need more power than 9mm these two would be my choices 10mm is also is more powerful than 45acp as is 357 SIG both by a decent amount 10mm is the most powerful of the 3 Underwood 150 grain JHP 10mm 1500fps Underwood 115 grain JHP 357 SIG 1550fps means very effective stopping power that shoots extremely flat at 100+ yards while still being very effective at stopping any human threat at that distance

The grip safety is the reason I bought the XDS instead of the Shield 45.

Hey I just found a pocket holster for the DB9 gen 4 from Alabama holsters. Hickock 45 uses the company.
