Thank you Chris for taking us on this adventure. Love the views around the camp set up. Love the Aussie bush and really enjoyed your narrative in this video. This was your first and still a great video. Enjoyed it very much! Have a great day. 👍🏼🤠🙏🏼♥
Great stuff, I've one coming in the next couple of days, davenport model, plus a 4x4 meter canvas tarp. I never thought about a ground sheet but think that's a great idea. Nice one cheers.
No worries and happy camping. The ground sheet is all about being lazy....sick of the mud on the swag 😛 Thanks for taking a moment to comment, appreciate it ✌🏻
Thanks Charles, glad you liked it. That was my first ever upload and was a great little spot. I go there quite regularly still. Thanks for stopping by and hope you enjoy the rest of the videos. Appreciate your taking a minute to reach out ✌🏻
I liked your tent setup. I have often used the same set up when I have gone solo on a motorcycle road trip. However, your tent is a lot nicer than the one I used, but on a motorcycle, one must keep their camping gear as compact as possible.
Cheer Reb, thanks for dropping by and bigger thanks for taking a moment to comment, much appreciated. It's my goto set up whenever rain or dew is expected. Handy if you have the car, not much room on the bike for a swag 😛
Another awesome video. I remember many years ago going to oz for the first time and seeing my first kangaroo was so cool. I stayed up in Darwin for a few weeks and then went onto Townsville. I was there during build up season and I never knew what real heat felt like till then lol i stepped off of the plane and couldn’t breathe. Oz is such a special place.
Cheers mate, I hear you about Darwin, like being whacked with a hot towel stepping off a plane up there. Not used to that down here in Canberra. Was up in Townsville a couple of weeks ago and did a quick video from there. Great place and nice the thaw out for a few days. Thanks for checking back in ✌🏻
thanks so much for this wonderful feedback. It was my first video and I am still learning heaps about how to put them together. Really appreciate your comments, cheers 🙂
@@chiker2270 Yeah I do and plan to do a fair bit of camping over the summer. They're usually pretty busy and I like to get totally away but I'll find some fun places I am sure 🙂

Cheers mate, glad you enjoyed it and really appreciate the support. Great to hear you're getting into swags, it's the best way to see the countryside I reckon. You're in an amazing part of the world and hoping to get up there next year ✌🏻
You’re an absolute natural, my friend. The video was perfectly pitched to show just how relaxed and beautiful the area was. The fauna was gorgeous as were the bouncing animals. Did you bring them all in the car just to make it look like a fairy tale ?😂😂 The setup was second to none, you could have spent a whole month in comfort. Atb Phil
Wow, thank you, such an amazing bit of feedback. I really appreciate you taking the time to reach out. Those Kangaroos and Wallabies are all over the place hear, we're pretty lucky and they come right up under the tarp when you settle in, magic. Thanks again! ✌🏻

Get it right. Ancient Aboriginal people did not recognise the concept of ownership. They saw themselves as Custodians of the land. Big difference. Do your research before parrotting the entrenched pc brigade. 😉
I agree with the other comments, a very nice video especially since it's your first. The tarp over the swag seems like a very good idea, I've never used one before, did it keep the dew off the swag? I think I will get a tarp after seeing your video. Cheers from the Utah desert.
Hi Robert, thanks for stopping by and watching and thanks also for taking a minute to leave a comment. Yep, the tarp is all about keeping the dew from the swag. Much easier to dry a nylon tarp out when I get home than to rebuild the swag and wait for the canvas to dry. There are more and more on the market these days and do not cost much. I have a few different sizes, depending on how much rain I am expecting too. Hope the Utah desert is as amazing as it was when I visited 25 years ago!
Yes, the desert here in the Moab area is beautiful. But my wife and I are coming to Australia for a visit next week. I'm sure it's going to be amazing! We will be camping in swags a lot I think.

Many of us are not the "gung ho" trampers/backpackers that we were once was.... I'm over 60, though still agile and out and about and enjoying the outdoors.... Something to be said for setting up camp with little fuss and taking ones surroundings simply yet comfortably (and I'm not talking "glamping").... The old principle stll applies... "KISS".... Keep it simple yada yada....
