Onya Tom. You guys always find some out of the way places (from tourists and crowds) to camp. Most people visit Cradle Mountain from the bus stop, but you climbed it! The van won’t get you places that Albo does but it will be fun. Seeing a platypus in the wild is a somewhat rare experience for most Australians but you did it. This is what travelling is all about. Stay safe. 👍🏻🙏🦘

I didn't know anything else about Tasmania either beside the Tasmanian Devil. I also know Marcus House, who covers Starship launches also lives there. I assumed that the climate in the winter was bad, being so far south.

oooh did not know that!!! yes in the winter it gets pretty cold on the center of the island. the south coastline is cold but nothing too bad as it is next to the ocean

Tasmania so far looks like an awesome place to vacation. Not too sure about living though. The glider idea sounds fun but I think Nick might need to get a tether for Mathilde when hiking. I’m remembering another van that had to use reverse to climb sandy hills. That water fall was really cool looking too. Thanks for another great video.

Growing up in the US Tasmania was always a mysterious land - did it really existing? They have Devils? That was then, this is now. And you're going there!
I'm not a geologist, but the Dolerite around Cradle Mountain seems to extrude similarly to the basalt we see in Western USA. According to Google, it's not. Either way - beautiful.
OK. Now, I am officially jealous. At 69 I enthusiastically trek with you. Don't worry: I won't slow you down.
I love the excitement (gentle anxiety) of winds and rain we experienced on the high plateaus of California. Again, still jealous.
I always get sparkling synapses watching your videos.

Some scientists are now saying that the rocks in North West Tasmania are the same as some in Arizona and that the two used to be attached. There's a youtube video on it if you want to research more 😊 Called Geologists explain why Tasmania is different...

@@lumeahartstudio There is the theory that the land masses where connected at some point in Earth's evolution. I think it's credible. Would be interested in seeing how the rock identification was carried out.
