Thanks for having me along, guys; what an awesome adventure. Katie taking those steep, technical sections in her stride was impressive. Bravo on the shooting and edit Mathilde 👏🏻
Amazing experience in the Australian Alps! 🌄 I had no idea Australia has such beautiful highlands and snow-capped summits. Nick and Mathilde's climb to Mount Kosciuszko was motivating, and Matt and Katie's friendship enhanced it. The river crossings and difficult routes showed the region's beauty and toughness. Amazingly, many people miss Australia's hidden jewels. Excited to watch Tasmania's next move! Maintain your excellence, gentlemen! 🚙✨
❤ Hey guys! New van life youtuber here (SUNFLOWER'S BIG ADVENTURES) Your Australia trip is awsome and your channel rocks. Cant wait too see where Albertros goes next! Peace and love from SUNFLOWER'S BIG ADVENTURES ❤❤❤❤
Great climbing very challenging very impressive vehicle is Landy made it so nicely ofcourse it was very perfect driving very pictures landscape wonderful 👍. Be happy and healthy ❤❤🎉😊 enjoy the journey 😊
Thank you for showing areas of Our Country I’ve never seen before, amazing large continent with so much diversity. Mathilda please be careful on those ledges, you are so brave, but I worry they might give way , and don’t ever attempt to Pat the Roos, this you probably know already, I was kicked by one as a child, and boxed by a mother Roo protecting her Baby.
Hi Defender Friends, It’s been a while since I last saw you because I was traveling for work in the US and Mexico and now back to Lake Constance. I had a lot to catch up on with all the videos I missed. No worries-I wasn’t bored! It’s always a pleasure to watch you. We’re almost traveling the same way with almost the same Defender, except I get to see yours on RUclips. Your videos are truly top-notch. We find you both friendly and very talented. Looking forward to seeing you again soon. Have a nice and safe trip
Minute 7:44: Beautiful surprise ! 3 cars one after the other in a river bed: no good idea: if the first gets stuck, the followers get a problem. In forward move you create a bow wave which protects the engine compartment, at least a bit. If you have to stop or set back... water can rise quickly and unexpectedly to rainfall far away Anyway, you made it. Thank you for the pictures !
@@zekesteggall2176 hey, found a photo of your truck camper online somewhere. If it's 4x4 and has diff locks front and rear, you'd do it. Might be one of the biggest rigs to ever tackle it, but it looks capable!
Hey Zeke, (Mathilde here), dont know much but I feel it would be feasible... but might not be the kind of challenge where you want to bring the brand new truck hahahah :)
One of your best videos yet! Amazing that Australia has snow and mountains! The more you know! Great filming of the steep trails I don’t think you could do better. I have been on a few like that and it never photos well. Cheers.
Australia has more extensive snowfields than Switzerland there is not only the NSW and Victorian Snowfields but as well Tasmania and even snow in South Australia of course Tasmania being roughly equivalent to New Zealands South Island Latitude wise but we have even often had snowfalls at Towoomba west of Brisbane and surrounding areas in some winters. Snow falls often just west of Sydney in the blue mountains and I have seen photos from the past such as 1965 in a place just west of Katoomba in the blue mountains roughly 20 miles 30 kilometers west of Sydneys western suburbs where a VW beetle was a measure of the snow depth overnight as it was totally buried under snow not s drift but actual snow level such as in Tacoma in winter Just wait till those who are unaware of Tasmania see what it has to offer listed as the cleanest Air and Water in the world, If the wind comes from offshore from Melbourne the decrease percentage wise of air quality is something like 2000 percent. Those reasons are why Tasmania has won world wide awards for their Whisky's and why so many French wine makers have bought into Tasmania's cold clmate wine regions The next episodes in Tasmania will surprise many and in some way explain why English emmigrants choose either Western Australia for the sun available in Perth and surrounds or Tasmania for its very English nature except for the ever present Gum trees of course one of Australias most sucessful exports across the world. A friend of mine just returned from shooting an anti People smuggling advertorial in Islamabad with the Captain, Wicket Keeper and fastest Bowler from the Pakistan cricket team all shot in the Pashtun language and s it turns out only one of the three knew it and Pashtun in Pakistan differs somewhat from Pashtun in Afghanistan. They got paid and were extremely happy to receive five year multiple entry exit Visas for Australia instead of money as they are all multi millionairs anyway but told my friend Scott a Pakistan Passport is much more limiting than having a Yemeni Passport when it comes to travel restrictions so they were wrapped happy to get that deal for an Australian Government anti people smuggling infomercial which will feature on Social Media and RUclips no doubt eventually. This is eye opening just as Itchyboots a Dutch Girl Norally who travels the world on Motorcycles is currently starting Series eight and is in the Anatolia Region of Turkey what stunning scenery wonderful people and even beaches on the lakes that would do any ocean side justice, I highly recomend her travel series she is an amazing ambassador for Humanity who shows just how blinkered and fake the Media and Government takes on many peoples across the world really are. Season seven was started in Morocco and went down the west coast of Africa with a quick jaunt for a few episodedes to Mauritius simply stunning ad Saeason six started from South Africa and went up the West coast and across to the East Coast. Prior to that were the Americas South to North all the way to Alaska and across Europe Russia etc including some like Iceland better than National Geographic you will get hooked and well lets say Season 7 ended at episode 127 with an accident in the mountains of Tanzania from which she recovered after being flown home after they missed diagnosing a punctured lung but the conditions would be more like the mountains in say Northern Italy in winter foggy wet and treacherous was what caught her out, Despite all of that she has a never ending smile and positive attitude well worth subscribing to.
@ I love itch Boots! She has really opened my eyes on travel and people in the world. Can’t wait to see Tasmania! One reason for watching this and others travel it get a sense of how a county is. Super cool. Cheers.
Wow nice video again you two . Looked like you all had great fun on that set of tracks . And another great part of Australia visited on your world tour journey . Cheers from Steve Stott in Sutherlin Oregon U.S.A. :) :) 🌏☕️🍻👍🏼😁:) :) .
Mathilde did pretty well on showing how steep it is: just look at e.g. 25:15 where it looks that Matt is almost flat on his back while standing vertically. Just get somewhere a reference in the shot of what is vertical (people standing and trees) or horizontal (the far horizon or a puddle of water) , and it will make everything clear
Another awesome video! Mathilde I wonder if the steepness could be seen if you used a simple plumb bob in the shot. This is simply a piece of string with a weight on the end. It will show true vertical. The other thing I wonder is using a small spirit level to make sure you have the camera truely horizontal maybe not achieving true horizontal is part of the problem. I have no idea if these will work, but maybe worth some experimentation? I find your travels very inspirational. As one of your older followers I plan to overland in my retirement, in the next couple of years.
Hi nick and Matilda! Whats really going on? In two hours time you posted your video as I started to watch it, your viewers were five hundred and something. But your likes are over two thousand two hundred plus. Which one do you prefer most? Likes or viewers. I ❤ you guys. Cheers 🍻
Hey something weird on this video I noticed the same. honnestly I have no ideas It is indeed a higher number of likes than most of our videos. it is not normal if you look our other videos. By far we prefer viewers to likes. I noticed one other video with weird stats like that few weeks ago... which I cant explain. I sent a message to RUclips.
Awesome guys 👍you were a week early. All the tracks open the first week of November. The other iconic track in the area is blue rag track. You guys would've loved the views along it. Good luck down in Tasmania you'll love it down there.
Great trails. We were told that it’s best to get the camera close to the ground and that better shows the angle. Then film the cars as they go through. How did the dentistry go?!?
If you want the true feeling of how steep something is, keep the camera level. Do not point it up or down because it will look flat. That means you may have to zoom out because Albo might be at the very top or very bottom of the frame.
Have the "cant capture the steepness" when mountain biking too, you'll never really show it but wider angles are worse, so lens' with narrower view can help. Had to watch this one twice :)
The Victorian high country in summer is almost certainly the best place in the world to camp and 4WD. See it while you can because it could end up like NSW with gates everywhere before you know it. 😢
I for one did not know the mountains in Australia were that high. Mount Kosciusko is 2228 meters. The tallest mountain in NY State is 1,628 meters. The tallest mountain in the NE US is Mt. Washington at 1916 meters, and that is considered pretty tall.
Interesting that the tallest mountain in Australia is named after a Pole, Tadeusz Kościuszko who was a Polish military leader who fought in Polish uprisings and also in the Revolutionary war in America!
That looked like a really fun trail. I wonder if Kaite will try getting a front diff. lock for her ride now? Albo looked like a beast climbing up that trail. Awesome video!
That was fun to watch. Well done climbing Billy Goat, which is a serious track. BTW if the camera is vertical, not horizontal, it can make the track look steeper. Also, if you film from behind with the vehicle climbing away upwards.
Good to see you successfully reached the top of Billy Goats. The significant thing is Albo was loaded up in expedition mode. I hope this vid is widely viewed as it showcases parts of the country that are somewhat hidden. 👍🏻🙏🦘
Thanks for having me along, guys; what an awesome adventure. Katie taking those steep, technical sections in her stride was impressive. Bravo on the shooting and edit Mathilde 👏🏻
Thanks Matt!!!! We were so happy to do that together ❤️💪

Another great video. Didn't know that Australia had snow. Learns something new everyday. Safe travels.
It's one of the coolest things we've experienced so far!
Such a badass episode, you guys crushed that!! 😎
Thank you!!! 🙏🏻 happy to read

It was awesome to see you all work together to conquer the steepest tracks of the Australian Mountains! Here's to more adventures!
It’s definitely a good feeling to work as a team on those tough trails!
Howdy Albies at the top of Aussieland! Fun show! Thanks for sharing!
Howdy to you too! We're so glad you enjoyed it!

She was a true champ on that track!

Thank you so much! 🙏 we are happy to share our adventures with you!
Gotta say this was an awesome episode, not that the others aren’t great 💪🏼🇿🇦
Love Katie..What a proper sheila in Auz full of adventure..Loved the drone and camera footage and 3 wheel climbing...GOODONYA everyone
Hahahaha goodonya
Katie might need her own Superhero character!!!!!💪
Totally !!!
Mind blowingly rugged terrain ... and not for the fainthearted like me. Amazing guys!
yes so so cool!

I’ll try to be extra careful, damn never tried to pet a roo but now I am sure I wont 😄
The track was amazing! I think you captured the steepness really well, Mathilde!
Thanks so much!

yep !

Anyway, you made it. Thank you for the pictures !
Billy goat only taken you guys twice as long as expected? That’s lightning fast for a first visit! 😂
Is it ? Cool!
Beautiful nature my friend
Thanks! Australia has some incredible landscapes.
Great effort/episode guys. Not sure Billy goat would have been doable with the camper. I’ll definitely go and do the first trail. Have fun
Hey Zeke. Bummed you couldn't make it mate. Would've loved to have met you and checked out the Isuzu.
@ what are your thoughts on truck doing Billy goat

So beautiful❤❤❤❤❤
Wow! Incredible shots of the area.
It’s a beautiful place.
Very well done
I see it’s getting pretty chopped up now
And another awesome 😎 video
Amazing video. Love seeing Oz, you guys are really geting stuck in. Thanks for sharing.
We’re so glad you’re enjoying the journey!
Filming slopes and showing how steep it actually is is near impossible. Seeing how the engines and the tyres work gives away the slope!
Mathilde did pretty well on showing how steep it is: just look at e.g. 25:15 where it looks that Matt is almost flat on his back while standing vertically. Just get somewhere a reference in the shot of what is vertical (people standing and trees) or horizontal (the far horizon or a puddle of water) , and it will make everything clear
it s so so hard hahahah a
Thanks!
thank you so much Anna!!!! we are so so grateful!
Superb drone pics, thx, happy travel, best wishes.
Many thanks!
Only so much time and so much to see. Zeka Spur track would have been another good track for you to do. Bluff hut
Great video , would have lowered tyre pressures more for Billy Goat ,well done guys !! Great channel
Absolutely love it, it’s wild…🙈😂
cool right !?

I was wondering about the true horizontal too. but the camera has a sensor so I think I m not too far if you imagine it works.
Cool guys
Thank you Sabido!

Billy Goat is pretty challenging for stock 4WD's. It becomes pretty easy with Lockers. The view on the way up and the Pinnacle Look out is worth it.

Is that little island on the lake for sale? I’m trying to get away from the US elections…😂
YOU got that damn right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
See Matt's info. Do, perchance have Katies? Thank You

Just out of curiosity, do you know why the highest mountain in Australia is named after a Polish guy? Tadeusz Kościuszko???
Howdy, Does Katie have social media?
She s on Instagram! Katie.maree
See Matt's info. Do perchance have Katies? Thank You

Australia has larger mountains than New Zealand in Papau New Guinea. It's actually not a separated island, it's part of the Aussie continent.

Yeah we are happy to discover parts of Australia that are less known. 🙏
